I was there when it’s closed on Thursday. Had a amazing experience in mother Teresa house. It’s praying time I am not Christian so I don’t know too much about it. But people are very friendly and helpful. They greeted us nicely and show us all the places and open the museum for us. Very humble people must to go one time. Highly recommend 👍

Mother House, also known as Mother Teresa's House, is a sacred and historical site located in Kolkata, India. It is the headquarters and the final resting place of Saint Mother Teresa, the Nobel laureate and founder of the Missionaries of Charity. Mother House is a significant pilgrimage destination for those seeking to learn more about the life and work of Mother Teresa. Visitors can explore the museum inside the house, which exhibits the personal belongings, photographs, and memorabilia of Mother Teresa. This provides a glimpse into her extraordinary journey of compassion, dedication to the poor, and her mission to alleviate suffering. Within the premises, you can visit the tomb of Mother Teresa, where she was laid to rest. It is a place for reflection and prayer, allowing visitors to pay their respects and seek inspiration from her selfless life. Apart from the museum and tomb, the Mother House also houses a chapel where daily Mass is conducted, attracting both locals and tourists. Visitors can participate in prayer services, meditate, and experience a serene and spiritual atmosphere. It's important to note that Mother House is an active religious facility, and therefore visitors are expected to be respectful and observe the guidelines and restrictions provided by the Missionaries of Charity. It is advisable to check the visiting hours in advance, as they may vary depending on religious activities and other considerations. For those interested in Mother Teresa's life and legacy, a visit to the Mother House in Kolkata is a meaningful and enlightening experience.

It’s beautiful. It’s calm. It’s serene. It’s where I find my peace. Mother House was the Home and is the final resting place of Mother Teresa. The Missionaries of Charity nuns reside here. It is open for visitors during fixed hours of the day. The final resting place of mother is open. Her room has fixed hours and there’s also a museum containing relics and gifts. There’s no charge but you can give a donation if you choose

The Mother House is the last resting place of Mother Teresa as she was buried in the tomb inside the house. People pay visits and offer prayers here. This place is also used for meditation by visitors as it is a soulful place filled with positive vibes thereby imparting peace of mind. You can see the old artefacts of Mother Teresa and the things she has used in her daily life. There is no ticket price. The main room of the Mother Teresa is closed on Thursdays.

The mother house of Missionaries of Charity. I thought it will be a huge building. I thought the visitors will be flowing to this place. No. It wasn't like that. A less known place in Culcutta. Or the gem which is not visible for all. That's it. That's how this place is. You will never find any pomp or decorations. The place where this great, strong lady rests. It will simply make you aware about the beauty of life, the beauty of leaving everything. And yes still the visitors board is pointed as Mother is "IN" there.

I would never imagine myself at the very house where Mother Theresa was laid to rest. An incredible selfless women who helped the poorest of the poor in Calcutta. Grateful to meet Sister Lily Theresa who gave us her time to show us all of Mother Theresa’s personal belonging kept in a protected room. Images of her tending to the sick and frail children will forever be imprinted in my mind. “Where there is love there is peace, joy and unity” Mother Theresa Things to consider: there are time slots (morning and afternoon) to visit the house. Don’t bother calling as no one is available to pick up the call. All of the sisters are very friendly and kind especially towards children. Everyone must wash their hands and take off their shoes when entering. There is no donation box for those who want to contribute. You can either donate in person with a local ID, and if you’re a foreigner , you must present a passport otherwise donation online can be done. Note:- image download from internet

Today I visit this place. I love the concept of door bell here, pull the string and the door bell will ring. Wonderful place and feel blessed to come at this place. Spent sometime in front of Mother Tomb. While looking at her belongings she used, her handwriting, her room where she used to live, I can experience and feel the presence of Mother Teresa between us at this place. I will visit again whenever I came to Kolkata.

This was the house where Mother Teresa lived & served, and where today she’s entombed. Entry is free. I was shown to Mother’s tomb where I sat awhile & brooded over her life. The entire Mother House & specially the tomb room are peaceful; you can hear your own heartbeat. Next to the tomb room is a small museum named ‘Mother Teresa’s Life, Spirit and Message’. Here you see & read through displays of Mother Teresa’s enamel dinner-bowl, crucifix, handwritten letters etc. Then climb the stairs to view the Mother’s Room, i.e., the room Mother Teresa occupied. Its small size will amaze you. Note that photographs are allowed only at Mother Teresa’s tomb and of her statue.

The home of Mother Teresa in the heart of Kolkata. The place is the resting place of mother where the tomb is kept. The place is well maintained by the nuns and they are quite welcoming. Worthy of a visit.

It was the house of mother Teresa. She was born in Skopje on 26 August 1910. Though by birth she was albanian but by citizenship she was an Indian and a catholic Christian. In the mother's house the visitors are allowed to see three places which are the tomb of mother Teresa, museum and her room. You can visit other rooms as well if you have permission. The information provided in the museum is really interesting and informative.

Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta, mother house is located at Ripon Street A. J. C bose road, Taltala. Been here many a times during my childhood even received mothers blessing when she was in her wheel chair. Truly blessed to meet a living saint for the poor. Where mother stayed there itself is her tomb. Hundreds of people from all over the country visit her to pay homage. Usually opens from 8am in the morning fir visitors. A gallery portraying her life story and the belonging of mother is been displayed for the visitors but photography is not allowed. Mass is been held in mothers room . People can donate here as per there interest.

The Mother House of the Missionaries of Charity Kolkata The Missionaries of Charity (Latin: Congregatio Missionariarum a Caritate) is a Catholic (Latin Church) religious congregation established in 1950 by Mother Teresa, now known in the Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta. In 2020, it consisted of 5,167 religious sisters. Members of the order designate their affiliation using the order's initials, "M.C." A member of the congregation must adhere to the vows of chastity, poverty, obedience, and the fourth vow, to give "wholehearted free service to the poorest of the poor." Today, the order consists of both contemplative and active branches in several countries.

Fantastic little museum with many curios and items that tell a story of Mother Teresa’s early life, work in India, and eventual global recognition. Very simple and doesn’t require too long. There is the opportunity to sit and reflect by her tomb. Booklets on her life available in multiple languages, though they go quickly. No shoes allowed inside.

Peace, reflection and tranquility in the heart of busy Kolkata. A must place to visit to learn of the compassion, humility and charity of Mother Teresa. The nuns are welcoming and warm-hearted and are eager to answer any questions and give you a tour of the place. Spend a little time quietly meditating or reflecting, and you will feel the kindness and compassion of Mother Teresa and the Missionaries of Charity she founded. Her tomb is houses at the place.

Visited the place just to marvel at the selfless service the great mother rendered to needy and the poor without expecting anything. The tomb of the Holy Mother is a heaven of peace like her. She continues to guide the selfless serving sisters. The museum devoted to mother's life is a must see. It depicts the life of mother in detail including her being conferred sainthood by the Pope. We were visibly moved by the service rendered by the missionaries of Charity. The sisters are representatives of God.

Serve selflessly, Serve the Needy Service to Mankind is Service to God. Very few walk the talk, Blessed Teresa did. Hope we have many more such Mothers. Carry your own water bottle. The simplicity of this place is very obvious. I was very impressed with Blessed Teresa’s room. It had no fan! In some of the photos one can see the toes of Mother, even with such toes she walked and worked relentlessly.

To me MOTHER is an epitome of unconditional love, compassion, kindness, charity and above all humanity. There is nothing more reqired to tell about the uniqueness of MOTHER. Yet I am trying my best to tell what I feel and what I got from my visit to The Mother House The Missionaries Of Charity. I got the divine and holy touch and Mother's blessing. And that is my lifetime source of peace and unconditional love. Apart from it the moment I entered in THE MOTHER'S TOMB I got a heavenly touch of peace and tranquility and I lost myself in knowing MOTHER. I would love to cordially request all to visit MOTHER'S HOUSE at least once in a life to get the lifetime peace. 🙏
