Great place for both kids and adults. The zoo has wide variety of species and it is quite natural located in between hills and nearer to beach. There are wild animals, birds, reptiles etc. Also the zoo is built in a lush green forest. One can go by walk, car or battery car provided by them. There are Afrincan birds and White Peacock, Leapords, Bear, White Tiger, Giraffe, Hippopotamus, Rhinousaur, Foxes, Elephants, Chimpanzee, Snakes, Owls, Civet Cats, Lion, Fishes, Tortoises, variety of Deers, Lemurs, Monkeys, Porcupines, Indian Gaurs, etc

Best place to visit for nature and animal lovers. Very well maintained by the zoo authorities. Many cells are under maintenance. White tigers and giraffes are the special attraction. You can ride your car by paying 500rs. - Monday is holiday - In the rest of days the zoo is open from 10am-5pm - if you are interested to see and enjoy seeing animals it will take a full day to see the complete zoo. - you can have your lunch inside - plastic is prohibited inside the zoo - there is a special provision of adopting the wild animals (you can sponsor the animal food for 1 day to 1 year)

Indira Gandhi Zoological park is one of the best ever have seen. The best thing is about its location. The surrounding hillocks part of Western Ghats makes this zoo as the natural habitat but doesn't look like man made habitat. Vehicles are allowed to go around zoo and it was a great blessing for elderly and children. Neatly maintained. Animals also look quite healthy. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. If you are around vizag and tired of visiting beaches, this is a good try to be with wild

Good place but it could be better, I'm Giving it 3 star for It's Natural scenery and it is situated between the eastern ghats. But only few animals are there to watch and most of the places are vacant and Under Maintenance. Good Place for Locals but if you're a tourist I'm not recommending you to visit this, also they charge 50/- for Adults and 40/- for Children over age 5. NB -It is closed on every Monday.

The location is indeed good and the zoo has many wild animals. But! The thing is you can not properly see the animals especially giraffe, zebra etc .. the barricade placement almost coveres the view.. There are plenty of safety options which can also provide better view of animals but here you can not see them without the disturbance of too much barricades and cages . Elephants etc you can clearly see without any much distractions. More than zoo the vegetation (greenery) is what you'll enjoy. At some places you have free drinking water facility and washrooms.

Greatly located in between highway and beach. Good place to visit with family. Better take your car inside ( Rs. 500/-). Maintenance is very good. White tiger and peacocks are attractive. Children will enjoy a lot. Huge place but very less animals. Needs to increase animals.

If you want to see wild animals, it will be a waste experience. Majority of the cages are under maintenance. But if you need to spend somewhere for relaxation you can go there. It will be better if the authorities can arrange good seating facility near to this pond.

Well maintained Zoo. I always love Vizag zoo. They are constantly improving and also promoting clean. Kids enjoyed the zoo. Seeing Elephant, Giraffe, Ostrich, Bengal tiger and white tiger is awesome. Snake exhibits should have been better but rest all is awesome. Also if there is a sign of one way it would have been nice instead of people figuring it out. They can add paying by phone promoting cashless entry. But overall amazing experience.

The zoo is just OK. We have selected a wrong time to visit. Fully sunny day. More than half of the animals are not in the display. Also, there are very few species compared to other zoological parks like Hyderabad and Chennai. There are lions, bear, tiger, giraffe, zebra, chimps, rhino, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, ostrich, emu and some other species. The crocodile enclosure is somewhat far away from the main path. If you have seen other zoos especially Hyderabad, it is not worth the effort. The worst thing in this park are the battery car. We asked at the entrance and the guy simply said, it will take 1hr 20 min for the car to come. We asked for a battery car because it was a sunny day and waiting for that long will make it even worse. Plus point, our own 4 wheelers will be allowed inside after paying a hefty price of rs. 750. Bicycles are also available. The other worse thing is there is no proper drinking water facility inside the park. There are only 2 canteens. We can see ice cream sellers everywhere but no proper drinking water. Whoever is visiting this park, I strongly suggest don't plan to visit on a sunny day and always carry enough drinking water with you.

A zoo is a place mostly for the middle class and lower middle class to enjoy a full day of outing or picnic with their entire family. But I see the administration has become very money minded. Now that animals are being adopted by different corporate houses the burden on the zoo administration has reduced so why have they increased the entry fees for individuals, in addition they are charging Rupees 50 for every mobile phone taken inside (just imagine a family of 8-10 people having to pay mobile fee where every one owns a mobile these days). Also car owners have to shed Rs.750 apart from the entry fees and mobile fees. I wanted to give just a one star rating but because of the cleanliness in the zoo and the public toilets being free inside the zoo 🤪 I'm giving a 2 star rating.

This zoo does have a few animals but big animals especially carnivores are few and far between, there were few empty cages like this of wolves when we visited. Be prepared to walk around a lot and a good 2-2.5 hours of non stop walk if you want to cover all animals. There are few toilets along the way, but their numbers and cleanliness need improvement. If you have been to a much more organized zoo like that of Mysore, you can give it a skip in case you are in a tight schedule.

Wonderful place to spend time, solo or family. The park is spread substantially and therefore one has to spend the entire day to enjoy PROS Availability of clean drinking water at multiple places Availability of battery operated vehicle for touring the park Cheap entry fees @ 50/adult and 10/child Permission to take hired/one's own car inside Good painting on wall, outside the park CONS Camera charges@ 30 Less battery carts available inside and most of them are already booked. Washroom should be provided Less sitting options. Entry fee payment mode options are limited Signboards are less Tips: It would be nice if you take your own car. Carry sufficient food and water also as there are limited food options inside. Carry hats/caps as visit during summer season would be very unbearable

Zoos are places where wild animals are kept for public display. Zoos are often the sites of sophisticated breeding centers, where endangered species may be protected and studied. Some zoos are dedicated to one species or set of species. Here we can have all the endangered species of wild animals. Especially the elephants and tigers are the attractive one

It’s always nice to visit a zoo to revisit your childhood memories. Good part of this zoo is that you are allowed to take your car inside the zoo. You can stop wherever you want. Battery operated cars are also available if you want to use one. Since every animal mail has small place to roam, most the them are generally visible. Apart from regular Animals Giraffe is also there.

The Zoological park is well maintained with less animals and it's located near Yandada junction. The total distance of the park is 5km and you can go by walk, take your own car or tempo inside the park to take for rent. In the park, we have the drinking water and a washroom facility for the entire park. We have instructions to follow in the park otherwise the security guard will blame us for doing wrong things, don't feed animals and tease them by any chance. The best time is to visit on weekdays rather than the weekends. There is so much greenery around the park and kids will enjoy it while visiting the Zoological park. The park opening time is between 9am to 5pm. Ticket price : 70/- for adults and 30/- for children. Best time to visit : weekdays/opening time. We took the bus from the railway station and went there. The bus number is 222R and tell the conductor to stop at the Zoological park.

Great place to hangout with the kids. Loved the organised zoo keeping and also the electric golf carts. But please take your own vehicle if you have one. It will be the best way to enjoy this zoo. It's not a very big zoo but the landscape is a bit steep in places.

The place was not as I expected. There are very few animals in the zoo. Some are not more than one. Cannot see the birds, they are totally cover by the fence. And there are 4-5 bird spices. If you start at morning around at 10am you can enjoy the place better, by 1pm you can return. Make sure to bring a water bottle, the drinking water at zoo is not good.

An amazing place with hilly ambience, lush greenery, lively animals with their instinctive gestures-postures. When you'll pass through the woods you may have a chance of relishing the white tiger's roar, trumpet of mother elephants, chattering of love birds. You may be a witness of the bluish beauty of peacocks, sunny relaxation of Gharials, aimless wandering of lusty deer, muddy enjoyment of rhinoceros.A good place for both children & adults, for both nature-lovers & animal-lovers.Two/three hours will be enough for covering the whole place by walking.Only four wheelers are allowed inside.Try to visit during December to February if you want to enjoy the combo offer of green mountain with wide range of zestful animals as well as the charm and warmth of golden sunshine.

Good place for visiting on weekends with friends and family. You can walk the whole place in 1-2 hours. Tip - You can roam the zoo in your own car or rented car but motorcycles are not allowed. Pro tip - There are two entry gates, one is towards the beach and there is one at the opposite side of park. Try entering from the opposite side as you can get battery operated bicycles on rent and it can make the experience much enjoyable.

A must visit place in vizag. Spread in almost 625 acres. Lions, tigers, elephants, hippos, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, hyena & chimpanzees are main point of attraction. The things which i don't like is that it doesn't have any eateries or any refreshment shop as we have to walk quiet a long way and secondly the animals are kept in very long distance that we started feeling bored while walking. Overall nice experience and children are definitely going to like it.

A must visit if you are in Vizag. The zoo is clean and the animals are well fed which was a relief to see as otherwise it is a crime to cage these beautiful creatures. Being 625 acres is size, this zoo is huge and you better be prepared to walk or you could opt for the buggies(payment extra) or take your rented/private car inside(extra payment). Checkout the photos of the animals we could see on our visit. Our 3.5 years old son enjoyed the visit!

We had an amazing time exploring the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park with our family! The park is well-maintained and provides a great opportunity to witness a diverse range of animals in their natural habitats. The variety of animals present was truly impressive. The enclosures seemed spacious and designed to ensure the comfort of the animals. The park's layout and signage made it easy for us to navigate, and we appreciated the informative plaques that provided interesting facts about the different species. While we enjoyed our visit overall, there were a few areas that could be improved. Some of the information on the map seemed outdated, and we encountered a couple of exhibits that were temporarily closed for maintenance. Additionally, we found that some of the e-cars were limited, so it would be great if there were some more available within the park, so that the waiting time would be lower.

Zoo is pretty huge and you need 2-3 hrs to cover all. They will allow personal vehicles inside to roam around which cost 700 for car and Entry tickets are 70 per adult. Animals looks super exhausted and unreal. You can see only few animals which are scattered here and there. Not recommended for animal lovers, caretakers should feed and maintain animals well.

The area of the zoo is very vast. The natural beauty is quite impressive. The number of animals is large. Actually it takes a whole day to enjoy it. There are many options to visit it. One can hire a vehicle or can go riding his own. There is no option for buying food. So people must carry food. People can enjoy picnics there. But maintenance is very low. The authorities should take more care of the environment. People throw plastic items here and there as the number of dustbins is very less compared to the area. There must be a good food court.

Awesome experience. Visited the place with my kids and family. The best part was that i qas allowed to take my car inside the zoo and roads are so wide that i didn't face any problem inside. Else one can hire a battery car (Area is pretty big to cover by foot). Few areas need improvement like reptile zone and nocturnal animals zone.

Nice place, beautiful birds.Environment is nice. It's a really long walk, not many animals in the reptiles section (less snakes specifically and they are kept way too open for your own comfort). Although you can take in your vehicles or bicycle, E-rickshaw (golf cart) is available inside, but note that they will not take you too near the cages and you might have to share the ride with other people.

Entry fee is 50 rs. But when you go inside it is visible that it is not maintained. Animals are lesser than earlier. I had gone 2 years back. Most of the places are empty and you just have to walk. There used to be one eating place that is also not maintained.

It was fantastic experience. People of Visakhapatnam more enjoy on beaches instead of paying visit to the nature and wildlife. Entry fee is reasonable but entry for car Rs.500 is on the higher side. You have to pay for camera as well but negligible. Staff are good they are communicating with the animals existing there. I haven't seen Bengal tiger but white tiger parades alot for photographers. Out two panthers or leopards one is very active. It's very difficult to see snakes when atmosphere is very hot. They coil into bushes or into branches. Overall excellent experience. I was accompanied by friend who has seen almost world famous safaris stated that the animals are well fed and look very healthy.( Such a great compliment for the zoo staff 👍)

Young kids will definitely have a lot of fun and learn by physically observing animals and birds. We did not see was our National Bird Peacock 🦚 .

The Zoo although has a variety of animals, it is not at all well maintained. Most of the roads and walking paths are deteriorated. The animal enclosures are very dirty and need proper maintenance. There should be additional safety measures around the fencing too. The information boards near the enclosures should have details in English also, so that non-localites could read them too. In terms of cleanliness, the entire area is below par. There are plastic bottles and wrappers thrown here and there. There should be proper checking at the entrance/exit points so that people can't bring in single-use plastic products within the premises. The sale of such products should also be prohibited within the zoo.

It is a must visit place during Vizag tour. I had fabulous experience during visiting this Zoological Park. There are various types of animals and trees are present in this Park. White Tigers, Royal Bengal Tigers, Lions, Leopards, Hyenas, Deers, Foxes, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippocampus, Rhinoceros etc. are the main attraction of this Park. There are lots of aquatic birds, herons, Eagles, kites and various types of unknown birds are flying here and there. Interestingly there are huts of peacocks of different colours and can enjoy their dance & course voice. You can find different types of snakes, lizards, crocodiles & other reptiles. I personally enjoyed the run of tortoises. Overall the Zoological Park is enjoyable. It can be maintained better than present scenario. Please try to avoid this place during Summer. There are battery run vehicles available for tourists & the cost is pocket friendly.

Everyone loves to visit the zoo. Kids love to see the animals they have seen only in picture books and the adults accompanying the kids love to see the look of immense delight on the faces of these kids. One such zoological park that has everything to make it one of the fun places to visit in Vizag is the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park. Surrounded by the Eastern Ghats on three sides and set in the laps of the Kambalakonda Forest Reserve this park is spread over a luxurious 625 acres and is home to almost 80 species of wildlife, making it one of the largest zoological parks in Andhra Pradesh.

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park is a scenic location set amidst the Eastern Ghats and is a part of the Kambalakonda Forest Reserve. It acts as a home for approximately eighty different species of animals spread over an area of 625 acres and is one of the largest zoological parks in Andhra Pradesh. The Bay of Bengal is situated close by, which makes it an ideal destination to study flora and fauna right beside each other. Perhaps nothing ever delighted us as children than a visit to the zoo, and this destination does precisely that. With its dedicated sections for different varieties of animals such as primates, carnivores, mammals, ungulates and birds; this destination houses a vast range of animals. This park also has a separate section for butterflies and moths, which also makes up for an exciting study. This part of the park is open only during the day, as moths and butterflies cannot fly during the late hours of the day. Looks like Corona has really affected the zoo as the maintenance has gone down since the last time we visited. Came to know that the owls in the nocturnal park have died. The restaurant is now good and serving good and hot food at reasonable prices. Can have a good time with kids. Better to take you own 4 wheeler inside which costs 500rs but save a lot of time and energy if you want to cover every enclosure without much of tiredness.

#Vizagzoo is one of its kind. Rest is all about photography n your creativity. I hear people from other place come and say "humare city mein itne janwar nahi hai" i.e, they don't find so many animals in their city.. Vizag Zoo has many things to see, PREFER YOUR OWN VEHICLE FOR THE VISIT. DON'T FORGET to take your DRIVER along...😉 Kindly Do not Litter in the Zoo..🙏

The overall experience was not upto the mark. The following points merits attention: 1. All the animals and birds requires utmost attention. Very less attention is given to them. 2. The vendors inside the park are charging for items at their own will and more than MRP. 3. Electric cycle facility is provided but at a very high cost.

I very much enjoyed the visit here. ill divide the review to pros and cons Pro's 1. very refreshing and surprisingly clean environment 2. there are huge variety of animals and birds to watch. 3. every place is well guarded while not being uncomfortable. 4. vehicle parking available outside. you can pay and take cameras inside. 5. both still camera and video camera as well are allowed. 6. mobile photos are ofcourse available. 7. security is well maintained. 8. can visit with family without hesitation. 9. Wastage cleaning is very optimal. 10. paid bicycles will be available to cover the area easily 11. drinking water is available for free inside. 12 . Area is around 625 acres. 13 . Entry price is 50 rupees per adult. 14. Camera price is 150 for our own camera. Con's 1. place is very huge very means very. 2. cannot cover in a pinch you need atleast 6 hours to meaningfully se every animal in the park. 3. no cars allowed or provided by the management to visit quickly 4. Food is available in the park but it is very limited and theres only one place to eat. 5. no cloak rooms available to store belongings. 6. no tours or guides available. 7. we can get lost in very short time. 8. the directions are certainly preset but the issue is they are not at all clear once we enter we will find it very difficult how to exit quickly. 9. Not ideal for couple for private chats. 10. places for birds are very huge and the birds are repeated many times no diversity there.

The Zoological park was beautiful. There were different varieties of deer, tiger, hyena, jackal, varieties of peacock, crocodile, giraffe, babboon, bear, different snakes, etc. They were like in their natural habitat. However, some were empty and under maintenance. There were aquarium for which you have to pay a little extra around 3 or 4 rs to get inside. Similarly, for nocturnal animals or mammals there was a requirement to pay extra. For 1 person it was 50 Rs to get inside. If you are going by car inside to explore the Zoological park then you should pay Rs 500. If parking outside then you should give Rs. 30. There are places to rest in between. Also, at end points there are snacks shops. 2 main entrances are there. There is a long walk to see all the animals and birds around 7 km. It can be completed around 2.5 hours.

For now half of the place is under maintenance and very less animals are there. One each of each animal. You get to see more peacocks and birds. Just saw one lion that too far, white tiger sleeping, no normal bengal tigers, no leopard, less crocodiles. 4 elephants, two hippos, one rhino, swans, wild dogs, snakes, deers etc. Overall not so attractive. Canteen food is not at all good. Not worthy to the price they are selling. There is alot of scope for development and to bring more animals. Not sure why they are not doing anything. Also price of entrance is increased to 50₹. I also tweeted in twitter about this but no one even cared to reply.

Zoo is an excellent and exciting place in Vishakapatnam with a well protected view for its audience. It is being curated in a great manner. Single creatures are waiting for its partners. Better to stop entering four wheelers in the time of November and December with over crowds walking on both sides of the road.

Good place but could be much better. There are lot of animals. Walking could be little tideous but better than other options like cycle, buggy etc which costs more. Place is so good covered with lot of trees. Negative side of it is that in some kind of species there are only 1 animal like giraffe, zebra, lion etc they are single and if that one goes away or sleeps you can't see that animal. Not that much worth but give it a try if you're free. And Monday is holiday that's what I say when I went on Wednesday.

Excellent location and resembles an actual forest, so close to the centre of town, none in the world similar to. Though animals are not plenty good to walk around. With a little more care for the greenery, it looks fantastic. With a good App or phone pay facility administration could collect donations from the public to improve facilities and better feed for the animals.

I always love to see zoo and animals... Visakhapatnam zoo is also a attractive place but I am not that much satisfied with this zoo.... Not that much animals are there... The main attractions are Elephant, tiger, leopard, hippo that's it.... Most of the cages or places are enpty only... You can come with with your own vehicle also inside the zoo.... Or you can take E-rikshaw also to visit whole zoo... Ticket price is 70 Rs for adult... Restaurant and washroom facilities are available inside also

One of the fun places to visit VIzag is the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park also named as Vizag Zoo.. It is surrounded by the Eastern ghats and Bay of Bengal. It spreads over 625 acres and is home to approx 90 species of wild animal. It is the largest Zoo in Andhra Pradesh. There are separate sections like carnivorous, primates, ungulates, mammals and birds. So, visitors can go to the areas as per their choices. This zoo has a place for nocturnal animal also.. A place must to be visit for an encounter with the nature along with family and friends.

Its a great place where you can see most of the animals even of abroad area. Animals like, Ostrich, Emu, white peacock, white tiger, Giraffe, Zebra, hippopotomus, etc are the ones which were points of attraction and visiting them was made us happy. It took us around 4hrs time and 4-5 km walk to visit all the animals and complete the zoo.

A zoological is perfect place to visit and to gaze upon natural beauty so closely. It was really a nice experience here, also most of biodiversity is here to look upon. Truly it makes us realise that nature is really part kf our life and we should care about it. Conditions were nicely maintained in park, I'd suggest people to try plan a visit in summer as in reptile house most of reptiles were in hibernation already, same was with some species too. Even after this is was really awesome time there. Bring young kinds and enjoy family tour. This place can be enjoyed by elders too as they offer a train tour too and some mobile electric rikshaw to go errand. Open food items like Pizza, burger and some other stuff was terrific. I'd suggest people to only buy packed food (and mind the price hike). Humble request from people that they please don't tease and damage the protective boundaries made their, don't make animals feels that 'animals' are visiting them. Show some humanity, because I've experienced some inhuman behaviour towards animals from visitors, they were treating animals as some toy that's truly horrible. Do have same manner and enjoy the day out with some remarkable creations from mother nature. :)

Surrounded by hills, a very well maintained and well managed Zoological park in India. If you are planning to visit this whole zoo on foot then make sure you are able to walk near about 7-8 kilometers. Yes there are places or benches alongside the walkways where you can sit and rest. The best part i found that you can take your vehicle in by paying a certain fee as vehhicle entry ticket.

This is an amazing place for those who love nature. The ticket price is just 50 rupees for adults and 20 rupees for kids which is a bargain for the amazing experience. We can watch carnivores at a very close view. But sometimes when go there, the animals we wish to see will be sleeping at a distant place behind the trees which will leave us with disappointment. If you want to see the animals closely then go there at a time around 2pm. It is advisable to click a picture of the zoo map to know where to go since the zoo is very large. The washrooms are neatly maintained. It takes around 2 to 3hrs to watch all the animals. overall it's a great experience

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park is one of the biggest zoos in India. It has many species of animals and lots of exotic and endemic species as well. The new animals Zebras are great as well. If you love nature and like to surround yourself with it then trust me there is no place better than this. With its lake and all... It really is the best! P.S. if you are lucky, you can see deers outside on the roads and not in the exhibits.

No doubt, you can enjoy the nature and see almost all Animals. White tiger, tigers, lions, elephants, giraffe are highlights. Also, we can see beautiful birds and many other Animals. I guess, we need to walk around 3KM of radius to cover complete zoo to see all Animals, it takes around 3 hours. So better to take vehicle inside the zoo if you have kids and senior citizens. Entry fee for car is Rs.500/-. One restaurant and one soft drink shop available, also we get icecream at some points. I suggest to carry food from outside or home to enjoy having lunch at the trees/small shelters. We should see the the zoo,as it is excellent. Note: Finally, luck matters to find all animals as it is very big zoo and animals may sleep some times back side of the trees etc then you miss chance to find them.

Zoo with lust greenery and hills with map and sign board all around, also places for rest and food quarter available there, go there with friends and family, also personal vehicles are permitted there inside zoo but i recommend go without car to enjoy every moment.

A very nice and peaceful place to visit. Charges for taking a four wheeler is Rs. 500/- which can be definitely saved as we end up walking through out most of the zoo. And walking is fun if weather is good..

Good place for kid's. 500 Rs. for car is too high. Battery car is best instead of own car.

It was a great experience to visit the zoo. Try to go 9-10 during weekend otherwise you have to wait for your entry ticket.

The place has a good collection of animals and worth a visit. One can drive through the zoo in your own vehicle so that makes it very convenient.

Good place for children. You'll get a little bit tired if you walk, you can arrange a vehicle or rent a bicycle here.

  • 5/5 Steve X. 2 years ago on Google
Tips 1) You can transit by private vehicle inside the zoo with an additional fees of Rs 500. If u have aged family members or personal medical problems, it is recommended to avail this option. If u r fit, then consider walking all the way. It's a wonderful place filled with trees and sitting areas along the pathway. Wear good walking shoes 2) Half way across the zoo, a small canteen is available for a quick bite 3) 02-03 hours are good enough. Better towards the evening. The animals are out during that time to enjoy the warmth. 4) Avoid visiting the zoo during the rainy season

My class mates and I went to visit the zoo. The zoo has a wonderful atmosphere on a sunny day when lots of people are around but probably isn't the best destination on a rainy day.

Exciting place for Children.... Need patient to Walk in It... Better take vehicle..... Two entrances for it one on beach side and other on Main Road side.... Ticket 50rs for adults and 10 for children.....

  • 5/5 Kaporchand 2 years ago on Google
Different kinds of birds & wild animals present. It's advisable to go by your own car or book a car to tour inside the zoo else won't be able to see many things. Also you should bring food & water inside as nothing much will be available.

  • 2/5 NIZAM U. 2 years ago on Google
Post Covid-19 Zoo lost its previous charm. No Bengal Tiger found on 12.12.2021. But still major attractions are Elephants, White Tiger, Lion, Giraffe and Zebra. Lion is not so healthy. Monkeys attract children to some extent. Hardly can find any butterfly in butterfly park. For Adults ticket is Rs.50/- which is very high. To roam in Zoo with Car you have to pay Rs.500/-. No Battery operated cars at present. It will take 3-4 hours to cover Zoo fully. Parking fee for 2 wheeler is Rs.10/- which is reasonable and for four wheeler it is Rs.50/-. The toys sold outside are cheap quality, broken on the same day. Canteen is average. Needs lot of improvement to make is visitors friendly.

A good place to hangout with kids, who are going with cars they allow cars into zoo by paying 500, simply go with ur car it's very big zoo we can't walk all by walk, if we take car we can roam as we wish, where ever we like we can stop, best time to vist this place is 10 Am as the zoo opens all the animals will be in good pace and they try to attract us, and play with us, try to bring ur own stuff to eat as there is not much stuff available in the zoo to eat, the best part is white tiger it's really a good experience to see it, if you have children spend some time at elephant, parrots, and birds they really like them and enjoy, it's neallry 665 acres very big zoo, but nobody guides you nor the zoo Peopel will help, they simply sit and chit chat, if you ask anything they simply ignore you

The zoo is very well maintained. Nice roads. Zoo itself isn't too big and yet they allow 4 wheelers inside for a cost of ₹500 (as of 1st January 2022) over above the entry ticket fee of ₹50/head. Taking cars inside is a convenience if you have elders/infants/toddlers. You can just park the car and go around and come back once you are done seeing a few animals. Toilets are very well maintained. There are resting spots also where you can sit with your family and rest for a while. One star less because some of animal pens were empty and there was a 'UNDER MAINTENANCE' board kept there. Also please bring your own food. There is only one canteen and the taste and portion is way too less for what they charge. They also charge above MRP for cold drinks and chips packets. The so called veg biyani is just tasteless plain white rice with no taste whatsoever and some potato curry. It costs ₹75/plate. If you ask for Egg Briyani they will again give you the same plate of so called veg. Briyani and they will add a boiled egg in it and charge ₹85/plate. Ridiculous. Other than that everything about the zoo is very good. Go for it and you won't regret.

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park is a must visit place in vishakhapatnam. It has many animals including white tiger. It has special reptiles and birds sections. The one thing I liked the most was you can take your car inside the park to roam around. Very scenic and calm place to have a one day picnic with your family.

It is very wonderful, but it is evident that the fodder is not being given to some animals on time and according to it, it would be even more wonderful if the government pays attention to this and develops it with a special grant. Few animals or none. Tiger, lion, snake, crocodile, monkey. Some animals, including, started appearing only on name plates. Still some of them have disappeared and the work in progress nameplates have been installed. It would be better if concerned authorities pay attention to this and correct it.

The zoo has a decent amount of area with quite a few exotic animals along with the regular one's. Half or more than half of the enclosures are although empty so brace for dissappointment at times. Similar animals can be seen in simultaneous multiple enclosures. Worth a visit if you have kids along. Recommend paying some extra to tour inside via a four wheeler. Definitely can be covered by foot but a lot of inclined trail.

Very good place to visit during weekends with family specially if you have children. The zoo has high variety of animals including giraffe, white peacock, lions, royal bengal tiger, crocodiles etc. Varieties of bird species are there to be seen. A nocturnal animal house is there where porcupines are to be seen with bats and other animals. Though it needs separate ticket but the price is very nominal. Various serpents and chameleons species are also there to be seen.

One of the best zoo in India. All animals are healthy and well taken care off. This is the first time I could see a leopard and tiger so close. The best thing is they allow your car inside at an additional charge of Rs 500 which is worth. Overall a good experience.

This zoo is not much recommended. First of all maintenance is worst, not much variance of animals, management is not showing proper caring towards the animals. Lots of things should be changed, mainly the current management.😅

The Zoological Park, also known as the Visakhapatnam Zoo, is a large zoo located in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is the third largest zoo in India, and is home to over 1,200 animals from over 150 species. The zoo is divided into several sections, including the African section, the Asian section, the reptile section, and the aviary. The zoo is well-maintained and clean, and the animals are well-cared

This was an unexpectedly wonderful experience. The zoo is well kept. You can book an electric vehicle if you don't prefer to walk. You can see rhinos, hippos, zebra, giraffe, wolf, elephants, ostrich, emu, lion, tiger here. My son loved seeing the animals. A must visit place if you are in vishakhapatnam. However the only negative aspect of the zoo was smelly toilets. The woman who cleaned the washrooms demanded money from us. Compared to other public toilets in Vizag in tourist places, it could have been cleaner here.

  • 4/5 Aditya M. 5 months ago on Google
Houses a impressive catalogue of animals. Good place to visit for children and adults both. Very convenient to book tickets online. You can even take your own car inside as the whole zoo is easier to cover in a vehicle than on foot. You can utilise the electric vehicles available inside too, but the waiting period is long, upto 1 hour sometimes.

Very very poorly maintained. No animals of whatsoever expect on billboards. We hardly see any animals for that matter even normal animals is also hardly seen including birds. Literally waste of time and my energy. I went in Sep 2023. Might get improved in future. Rather spend time on beaches and other locations do not miss YARADA beach via Naval HQ route
