It is always thrilling to go to forest and get in touch with nature and wildlife. The Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is one of my favourite jungle. It is located in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, India. The beauty of nature is awesome. There are maximum chances to spot the Royal Bengal Tiger here. Other animals or birds you can spot are Leopards, Spotted deer, barking deer, Sambar, shy Sloth Bear, Wild dogs, Gaur, Nilgai, Jungle cats, Peacock, Water birds, Indian roller, kingfishers, Owls etc. Hotel & safari booking in advance is recommended. Book two months early for this safari. Cell phones are not allowed inside the jungle. The staff here is wonderful, cooperative & knowledgeable. Wonderful experience.

Tadoba is the best place to see a tiger. They have lots of zones (parts) within a park. Winter season is good for overall tiger sighting and bird watching but summers are specifically good for tiger sighting

Beautiful place to visit and spend time with nature. Jungle has lots of wild fauna and it will keep you interested, one has to be lucky to sight tigers although they are quite in numbers. One can sight lots of spotted deers, sambar, langurs, peacocks, wild boars etc but without a tiger sighting it is incomplete. Mobile phones arent allowed so get your cameras to the safaris. Carry face covering masks, shades, cap or wrap around as red soil will ensure you get a good covering from it. Overall a great outing!!!

A dense forest reserve located near the chandrapur mines. You can take your vehicle(4 wheelers only) inside but you are not allowed to step outside your vehicle when you are inside forest parameter and you also can't stop your vehicle anywhere on the road. Best time is to visit in the evening when animals step outside for a walk.

The main emphasis seems to be on putting the wildlife first in the sense of looking after their interests. It could not be said to be a wholly natural setting given the several artificial pools, many of which are kept from drying out by a solar panel based water pumping system. The tracks are rather bumpy so people with back conditions should be wary Our agent should have alerted us to the ban on iPhone use even if only for camera purposes But we saw a variety of wildlife (including tigers) and within the constraints noted above they do come first so Tadoba merits support.

My experience was awesome. Booked two rides one in the morning and one in evening. I was lucky to see tiger in my first ride only. Ride booking and hotel booking in advance is recommended. Make sure you book hotel near to the ride entry gate. Tip: Book at least two rides so the chances of tiger spotting increases.

It's a good place to rejuvenate and spend time with friends and family. Tadoba Tiger Reserve 🐅 does not require an introduction as such so I am only sharing my experiences . In one simple line it is much better organized and maintained than what the expectations were. Open jeeps driven by well trained drivers with a guide from the forest department accompany the naturalist/ leader of each vehicle. They are so well equipped and trained that their eyes don't miss a single movement and their ears are not rusty . They hear and understand the calls of various animals and birds . The best thing is the coordination between the guides and drivers to lead others also to the position where they have sighted an animal. I was truly impressed by the bonding and bonhomie of the staff. Tadoba is famous for the tigers and we were lucky to see 4 tiger's 🐅 on the first day itself. It was magical as she roared a few times and then disappeared in the jungle. My first ever safari experience and the best ever to remember. The time I spent in the reserve was memorable and the people I met were very generous and polite. Would love to go back there once again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🐯

India has many famous Tiger reserves. This one is lower in that list and also quite recent but the experience that we had here was phenomenal.. We had awesome Tiger sightings. The guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. However book your safaris well in advance. It is available on tadoba safari official site online and is quite easy to book. There are many stay options and all of them are more or less the same. If you are a jungle safari fan this is a must visit place.

Date of travel: Aug end 2021 In monsoon core areas are closed, only buffer is open. Even in off season, all safaris were booked, especially in weekends. So make sure you get your bookings done in advance, spot bookings were not available Zone: Buffer zone near Moharli - Junona Gate and Adegaon/Dewada gate - took 5 safaris in total. - Spotted tiger collarwali once at very close quarters. - Spotted another tiger from far away during transfer from hotel to gate at Nalla/ grassland near Moharli village Some pointers about buffer zone gates near Moharli - Adegaon and Dewada are same gates eventhough you can select each differently from the Safari booking website - The area of the jungle from both Junona and Dewada/Adegaon is same, only entry gates are different - Agarzari gate gives access to a different area of the buffer zone jungle - Agarzari gate is right opposite to Dewada/Adegaon gate - Above gates are buffer zone gates, Moharli gate gives access to core, but core is not open during monsoon season About tigers in this area: - Madhu/ Choti Madhu tigress - She has 3 cubs, but we were told that they were seen only once, she has not brought them out in fear of other male tigers - we saw a glimpse of her crossing the naala near Moharli village - Sonam - Mainly resides in core, sometimes visits buffer - Collarwali - Does not have collar on her, but had earlier during part of some study. She is daughter of tigress Lara. Still young, no cubs. - W - another tigress Heard 2 male tiger names - Bajrang and Ambeuttara. Saw one of their pugmarks(very fresh) while on a Safari, it were most likely of Ambeuttara, we were told that he is very shy 2 more grown male cubs of W are found in this buffer, however due to bad road conditions in monsoon, that part was closed/not reachable. We are told that both cubs are very bold Stay: We stayed at MTDC, however it seems it would be cheaper to stay at a homestay. Saw Akska's homestay near Moharli(core) gate and one more, don't recall the name. - MTDC tadoba: Location: - It is around 1 km from Moharli village and Moharli core gate - Junona Gate is at about 300 m (walking distance) - Agarzari and Dewada are about 7-8 km from MTDC. MTDC staff will arrange pickup from resort, but it will cost Rs. 800/- for to and fro transfer. Make sure to let them know in advance so that they can make calls and arrange it Food: - Average - no room service, but you can call and place and order ahead of time - Tea/coffee served at 5:30 before Safari - You can pre-order bread-butter or sandwich to carry with you for Safari if you inform previous night. Rooms/property: -Stayed at deluxe room, nice room, working AC. - Clean bathrooms with working water heater. - Good play area with swings etc, though there was no time to spend there -Can be booked online via mtdc website. - Room prices are more on weekends - No internet/wifi - Electricity was there throughout for the 3 nights/days we spent there Traveled from Pune to Nagpur by flight and then to TATR by taxi (Innova) - 4500/- for one way transfer About mobile reception - only Jio has reception in this area. We had to borrow phones from staff/driver to make call home as we did not have Jio. Aahh, few more things: We spotted Indian Gaur, cheetal/spotted deer, sambar deer, mongoose, tree shrew In birds were spotted honey buzzard, Shikra, serpent eagle, tickles clue Flycatcher, flock of subadult Orange headed thrush sitting in the ground, flock of Indian leafbirds, lesser flameback woodpecker, yellow crowned woodpecker, Indian roller, spotted owlets, 5 baby peacocks with their mother, red spurfowl, jungle fowl, bush quail Some groups were luckier and spotted leopard and Sloth bear. Some had worse luck and did not spot anything.

We got lucky to see 3 tigers in a single morning safari ride. Awesome experience. Few notes for visitors 1. Resorts are expensive 2.Mobiles are not allowed inside the park, so don't forget to bring a DSLR camera or you can rent at the park.

Good experience. Safari is managed well and need to be booked well in advance from official website. Road till core moharli gate is in good condition. Souvenir shops are available where we can get different product including camera on rent. Mobile phones are not allowed inside. Best time to visit for sighting is summer. Ample of stay options available but felt little costly. Tiger sighting depends on luck but i got to see tigress maya bathing and killing smabar while we were just about to leave

If you are in Maharashtra, please visit this national park... Tropical climate makes winter season the best time to visit Tadoba National Park. However, the best season to sight tigers would be the hotter months (April to May). Post monsoon is also a good time to visit Tadoba Wildlife Sanctuary when the jungle becomes lush green and is filled with flowers.

Mesmerizing Wildlife. Especially a wide array of various animals. A must visit for wildlife enthusiasts. Please book safari in advance from the relevant forest department website. Spotting of Tigers is almost guaranteed but you need to get a good guide. You can also enjoy your stay at nearby MTDC resort which serves very good and tasty food and also provides very good amenities. Enjoy your stay at Tadoba.

Safari ride in the midst of dense forest rich in huge trees all around, the craziness to spot a sight of Tiger, chasing animals, birds in between, the smell of soil, the wind of Jungle.....all of this will take you very close to Nature and the experience is refreshing for the soul and soothing to the eye. Tadoba is surrounded by many lakes, water bodies. Go and experience "The life of Tadoba." Being a travel enthusiast, always wanted to visit the largest Tiger reserve of Maharashtra, Tadoba. The date of Safari booking was 2nd and 3rd of April 2022. We have booked for afternoon Safari (2:30-6pm), since the possibility of sighting Tigers is high during this peak time. The best time to spot the Tiger is in the month of April-May, the summer months. Gypsy ride could cost you around Rs. 2000 per head for 2 Safaris. The guide and staff are really very cooperative and knowledgeable. If you are fortunate enough they will try their best to spot you 🐯. Mobile phones are locked in one small breifcase as you begin your safari ride. Only 📷 allowed. We got lucky enough to spot Tigers in buffer zones of Dewada, Adegaon and Agarzarhi Gates on both days of Safari. On the first day, we have spotted a Male Tiger,Paras. On the second day....we could spot a Male and female Tiger,W. Apart from Tigers, we could sight Sambar deer, barking deer,Gaur,Nilgai, crocodile,Bison, peacock,orange-headed Thrush, Indian roller, kingfisher, large billed crow, brahminy myna and many more bird species.

Tadoba National Park or Tadoba Andhari tiger reserve is located in Maharashtra district. It is one among the fifty tiger reserves that are located in India. It is the largest and the oldest park in the state. The park gets its name from the tribal God worshipped in this region, Taru or Tadoba and, the river that runs through the region, Andhari. Taru was a chief in the tribal village who was killed by a tiger. He is represented as a God and a shrine has been dedicated to him on the banks of the river. Tribes in the buffer area celebrate a festival in the shrine during winter season. Tourists are however not allowed to be a part of this festival. Tadoba national park is very famous for those who want to spot the Bengal tiger. The gypsy safari of the park is also called as the tiger safari. The park is famous for birdwatching and spotting tigers.

Notably Maharashtra's oldest and largest National Park, the "Tadoba National Park", also known as the "Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve" is one of India's 47 project tiger reserves existing in India. It lies in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state and is approximately 150 km from Nagpur city. The total area of the tiger reserve is 1,727 Sq.km, which includes the Tadoba National Park, created in the year 1955. The Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary was formed in the year 1986 and was amalgamated with the park in 1995 to establish the present Tadoba Andheri Tiger Reserve. The word 'Tadoba' is derived from the name of God "Tadoba" or "Taru," which is praised by local tribal people of this region and "Andhari" is derived from the name of Andhari river that flows in this area. The Tadoba National Park is divided into three separate forest ranges, i.e. Tadoba north range, Kolsa south range, and Morhurli range, which is sandwiched in between the first two. There are two lakes and one river in the park, which gets filled every monsoon, the ‘Tadoba Lake,’ ‘Kolsa Lake,’ and ‘Tadoba River.’ These lakes and rivers provide vital ingredients needed to sustain the park’s life. The Tadoba Tiger Reserve is rich in flora and fauna. Some of the famous and wildly seen flora of this park include, Teak, Ain, Bija, Dhauda, Hald, Salai, Semal, Tendu, Beheda, Hirda, Karaya gum, Mahua Madhuca, Arjun, Bamboo, Bheria, Black Plum, and many others. Apart from this the list of animals noted in this part include, Tigers, Indian leopards, Sloth bears, Gaur, Nilgai, Dhole, Striped Hyena, Small Indian Civet, Jungle Cats, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Chital, Marsh Crocodile, Indian Python, Indian Cobra, Grey-headed Fish Eagle, Crested Serpent Eagle, Peacock, Jewel Beetles, Wolf Spiders, etc.

Often referred to as "The Jewel of Vidharba", the Tadoba National Park lies in the district of Chandrapur in the north-eastern part of Maharashtra. Located in the heart of a reserved forest, it is an infinite treasure trove of innumerable species of trees and plants - and wildlife that includes tigers, panthers, sloth bears, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, bison, barking deer, nil gai, sambar, and cheatal. In fact, the Tadoba National Park and Andhari Wildlife Santuary together form the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve. The park derives its name from "Taru" the local deity, whereas the Andhari river that meanders through the forest gives the sanctuary its name.

What a beautiful place. This is absolute thrilling experience. It's a dense forest area. Full of Deers, sambars, Peacocks, and offcourse King tiger 🐅. We went for early morning safari in core zone. Total safari costed us Rs7250. This includes Private Gypsy for 4 hours with capacity of 6 tourist, Driver and Guide charges. Also camera charges. One of the things you should remember that MOBILE PHONES are strictly NOT ALLOWED inside Jungle area. So one compulsory needs to carry Camera for photography. We explored Jungle. It was very scenic and full of wild creatures. There were many water bodies inside Jungle with crocodiles 🐊. Finally after long exploration we got our reward. Our guide got information that there is a Tiger spotting in nearby Lake. So we hurried there. But when we went there tigress was sleeping inside bush. So we along with many other Tourist waited for almost 45 minutes at same spot. Finally the moment came and Tigress gracefully walked out of bush and came out in open water. In few minutes her 8 month old CUBS also came out in playfull mood. That was some experience. After almost 45 minutes we started our exit journey. I must say I'll definitely keep coming back to this wild paradise. There are many hotel options around. Also it is recommended to book safari atleast 4 month before your visit.

We saw 5 tigers in 4 safaris, along with a plethora of other animals. The park was also huge, much bigger than I thought. Unfortunately we didnt see any adult males, but we plan to come more often and hopefully we will next time. All the different zones we were in offered their own unique experiences. Would highly reccomend this place. Probably the best place to see Tigers in their natural habitat in the world!

You may birds like paradise fly catcher, woodpecker, peafowl, created treeswift. It's dense woodland. Well maintained cottages of Department of Maharashtra Tourism. The Safari keeps are available with guide. The tour starts early morning 0600 hours. In the summer temperature crosses 45 degree. Howver, when you enter the Safari zone, it's pretty much cool. The forest has three gates with different Safari zones. Before visiting the forest, please obtain detailed information about gates and safaris.

Jungle - Must say it’s really awesome to be at Tadoba National Park. Witness the natural beauty and off course the much desirable wild life. Big thanks to forest department to keep this jungle clean by keeping laws and rules stringent. Officials - Really feel proud to see officials following all guidelines defined by forest ministry. They are equally knowledgeable and aware about scientific names of each creature. They are interactive and helped for proper sighting of animals. Drivers are also following all rules. 35kmph should be the speed as per current rules and they are following it promptly. Cell phone - Cell phones are not allowed here and are kept in proper box within the gypsy. So overall have fun and enjoy the real beauty of jungle, landscapes and animals.

It's good that I saw tiger in my first safari it cost around 10000 in Mar 2019 , you can have 6 members in one gypse and 1 guide and 1 driver along. You need to book two months early for this safari , very limited and high demand for tigers sighting not only by Indians and also from all over the world .

I often drive🏍️ near tadoba forest because I reside neighboring to it. The Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve 🐯  is located in Chandrapur district, Maharashtra state, India. It is Maharashtra's oldest and largest national park. The area of the Reserve is 625.40 square kilometres. This includes Tadoba National Park and Andhari Wildlife. Nowadays government is also promoting tadoba ti it's best, the real thrill is waiting for you inside the jungle. I never miss a chance to go their.☺️

The word 'Tadoba' is derived from the name of God "Tadoba" or "Taru," which is praised by local tribal people of this region and "Andhari" is derived from the name of Andhari river that flows in this areaAccording to the 2010 National Census on Tigers, there are about 43 tigers in the reserve, which is one of the highest in India. Here are some highlights of the park… The park is open for visitors from 15th October to 30th June every season and remains full-day closed on every Tuesday. The vegetation of Tadoba forest is of Southern tropical dry deciduous type and is spread on around 626 sq.km. Teak is the prominent tree species in the forest and there are a few lakes, which makes sure the park has rich water resources. Major part of this forest lies in the hilly area, thus many hillocks and terrains provide shelter to the wild animals here. It has a dense forest area, smooth meadows, deep valleys, and a great atmosphere to stabilize more numbers of tigers. The main attraction of the Tadoba National Park is Jungle or Tiger Safari in an open top gypsy. There is good chance to spot the shy Sloth Bear and Wild Dogs. One can find some of the Central India’s best native woodland bird species in this forest. Accommodation facilities are available and are mainly concentrated among two of its popular entrance gates i.e. Kolara Gate and Mohurli Gate.

Amazing place if you want to get lost in nature and at the same time moist your eyes with different animal species roaming these wilds. I was luck enough to sight Tigress Choti Tara and a glimpse of Tigress Maya. I would definitely visit this place again and again.

Very well organized You need to do a booking before hand , but that's very well structured. There are 2 slots Morning starts at 530 Evening starts around 230 3 Better to take the morning slot, as the weather is much better, and chances of spotting increases. Also we went in peak summer, so morning was much cooler. We got to spot a family of tigers. 3 cubs and 1 adult. Choti madhu, they called her. Apart from tigers, we could spot many birds, deer and Gaur. They drive around for 4 hrs.

Well endowed wild life sanctuary. But not to be visited immediately after or during rains. Roads inside get very bumpy plus animal sighting opportunities get reduced due ti dense vegetation. Best visiting time is winters according to me. In 4k, the whole family can go on safari. Even if you are one, they don't club with other families. Plus they provide a guide too. Lovely dense jungle. Did not find tiger but many birds. Enjoyed the jungle thoroughly.

Tadoba is one of my favorite Tiger Reserve park 🐅 Only one feedback I have is the forest department shall allow carrying mobile phones during Safari. All other National parks across India phones are allowed, not sure why it's not permitted here. My personal request to change guidelines and allow us to carry phones in Safari. Thanks

I visited this place in the month of January.. it was the best and the worst time to visit.. best coz the weather was pleasant and the safaris were not so hectic with less crowd and more greenery.. worst - coz of the the greenery and availability of water in abundance, it was very difficult to spot the tigers.. ideal time to visit us summers.. the spottings happen.. remember to carry cameras as phones are strictly prohibited during the safari. Also carry a good pair of binoculars.. Also the network is pathetic all around the national park for airtel.. Jio has good coverage

Wonderful experienced. Nice arranged and well planned and organized safaris. Sighting wildlife was literally an alchemy of nature. Seeing the royal walk of the big cat was just mind-blowing. 5 safaris each of 4hours. Jeep safaris. All efforts were taken by Shashank for sighting sloth bear, barking deer, crocodile, beautiful and rare birds. Posch rooms. Well maintained cleanliness. Good ambience. Delicious food. They took care of every member with well concern.

Black leopard In Tadoba Andheri Forest Reserve The black leopard, seen in Tadoba Reserve, is the melanistic color variant of Indian leopard (Panthera pardus fusca) which is subspecies of leopard native to Indian Sub-continent. This Tiger reserve has the highest density of big cats in India. Even so, unfortunately we couldn't able to spot even a single tiger during our visit in the month of December. Our overall experience however was top notch. Exploring jungle in the early morning hours itself was an amazing experience and something which we will remember for long long time. Overall management and discipline levels were also much beyond our expectations. There are strict restrictions on number of vehicles or visitors that can enter into jungle area at any point in time. Forest officers are also very particular about the fact that people do not carry any food items or use their mobile phones inside the jungle area. Though initially these rules and regulations appears to be very restrictive, you start appreciating the same as soon as you enter the jungle area. Though tiger sighting is completely based on your luck, there is a good chance that one will spot wild animals such as spotted deer, sambar, neelgai, wild cat and numerous species of exotic birds and butterflies. Overall I would definitely recommend Tadoba to people of all ages and experience the unreal world of wildlife. If I ask to point out one negative point, that would definitely be the supremely high charges for the park entry, specially for the Gipsy ride. One would need to shell out almost 11k for a 3 hours Gipsy ride on weekends, that too if booked 3 months in advance. Government officials should definitely address this and make the jungle more accessible to common people.

Beautiful pristine forest with diverse fauna. One can watch a variety of entomofauna, avifauna (especially Lesser Adjutant Stork) and mammals like hares, deers (spotted, sambar and barking), wild dogs, jackals, mongooses, gaurs, leopards and how can I not mention- The Bengal Tiger! The place also has records of Black Panther (a melanistic leopard). The downside being, the park has now imposed a limit of 20kmph inside the forest and 35kmph on the tar road. Also, it's been a year, cell phones are not allowed inside the Reserve. Do consider all the above points before planning your outing.

Don't create unnecessary noise or disturb their surroundings. They are India's treasure, many have disappeared from the world. Respect your heritage.

Loved it. If u are interested in sighting tiger only then it's best , diversity in animals are less. But it's greener then Pench and gir. MTDC cottages are good and affordable only service is too slow.

The place is good. But seeing a tiger is not always in everyone's luck. Many people visited many times for seeing tiger.
