Beautiful small town surrounded by forests. Jhargram has a lot of potential to grow as a major tourist destination of West Bengal. Top attractions of the town are The Deer Park, Jhargram Rajbari, Sabitri Temple. Notable places to eat are Tandoori Food Mart near Local Board and Green Park Bar and Restaurant at Puraton Jhargram (Old Jhargram). Not too far from the town, there are various locations you could visit, such as Belpahari, Kendua, Chilkigorh, Gidhni etc.

It's a small station and very peaceful, set in an idyllic location the station has become a place to visit. I still have not forgotten my first visit there. Indian railways have many beautiful stations some are technology rich some are famous for natural beauty, this station falls on the latter category of natural beauty. The restroom is also very old and gives us a sentimentality of good old days....

This place has so much to offer. Immersive experience of nature and see the real rural India. Few sight seeing places are around too. Photos of railway station, waiting room and reservation/booking office are listed below. Please leave a like if you want to. Thanks for reading.

This train station will need to preserve its historical touch (As many historic touches such as Netaji Subhash visit to Bar council Meeting currently at Durga moidan দুর্গাময়দান at 12th May 1940). Govt or Railway required to give some attention for the new train stop for the tourist spots,Also Express train are not stopped which was stoped earlier.

The nature of Jhargram becomes extraordinary especially during the rainy season and winter. Most of the places in Jhargram are full of shawl trees. There are lots of places to go around, there are small dams, and there is a barrage. There are small hills and fountains in Belpahari. There are 2 palaces, many old temples and dense green forest surrounds the whole of Jhargram.

It is the station on the way of Kharagpur - Tatanagar. There is not sufficient train on this route. There is 6 platform at the station but from platform 1 to 4 for express train and platform 5 and 6 for good train. Ticket counter is outside the station. Many toto and auto are available here. Car and bike parking is also available.

Jhargram is a city and a municipality in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the headquarters of the Jhargram district. It is a popular tourist destination known for its forests, ancient temples and royal palaces. Legend says that around 1592 CE, Raja Man Singh of Amber had come to conquer Bengal on behest of Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great from Rajputana(Rajasthan) to expand the Mughal Empire to Eastern India. He appointed one of his loyal officers in the army, Sarveshwar Singh, to defeat the local rulers of the region known as Junglekhand. This area is also mentioned in Ain-i-Akbari as Jharikhanda, and it was populated by the Santhal, Munda, Bhumij, Kudumi Mahato and Lodha people groups. The area belonged to the Mal Raja. The Mals were ancient warriors and were powerful people in the eastern part of India since the time of the Mauryas and the Guptas. Sarveshwar Singh, together with the Rajput military force and cavalry, invaded the deep forest and vanquished the Mal rulers. Hence, he adopted the surname, Malla Deb. In order to commemorate this victory, every year an idol of Mal Raja is made and slain on Vijayadashami day. Raja Man Singh was appointed the Governor of Bengal, Bihar, and Orissa by the Mughal Emperor. After the campaign, he decided to return to Rajputana and granted Mansabdari of the 1200 km square Junglekhand region to Sarveshwar Singh as a reward.

Small town station halfway between tatanagar and howrah. Only a few express trains halt here. Mostly busied by passenger trains and freight trains. Serves as an important connect between Ghatsila and Kharagpur. No departures board available. So passengers have to rely solely on announcements.

Railway station for West Bengal's newest carved district that is Jhargram, earlier was a small station primarily used by locals and tourists from Kolkata used to visit here for tour of Jangalmahal forest along with famous Kanak Durga Mata temple which is nearby at Chilkigarh. There are 4 number of platforms here of which 1,2 are for trains going towards Tatanagar (Jamshedpur) and 3,4 for trains towards Kharagpur/Kolkata. Jhargram station is being renovated for looking more aesthetically beautiful and along with augmentation of additional platforms, passengers amenities besides platform number 4 where land had been cleared by South Eastern Railway.

Jhargram Railway Station is under South Eastern Railway of Kharagpur division. 3 platform is existing. Drinking water available. Many waiting rooms available on the platforms. To avoid any accidents, over-bridge is available to cross the platforms. Upcoming trains announcement is to be done. If you any way miss train then you have to wait for a long time. This is very warm weathered station as well as area. Car parking area is available just beside of the station also cycle and motorcycle garage are available.
