We mainly focused on their Chinese cuisine . Service was pretty fast and accurate. Here is a detailed review of what we ordered . We opted for two drinks Blue Lagoon which costed around ₹90 and Strawberry Blossom that was of ₹100. The blue lagoon had more amount of fizz than one would expect and the strawberry blossom was overly sweet. Hence the drinks could be prepared with a little more care . Moving on to our starters which were mostly outstanding. Started off with Dragon chicken that costed ₹280 . Big 8 portions of chicken cut in cuboidal shape coated in a flour batter and den tossed in rich spicy sauce to finish off. The portion size very impressive . Then we had Drums of heaven. 6 pieces of drumsticks costed 260 . I found it little overpriced. Although the chicken drumsticks were spicy and tasty but the price could be lowered a bit. Golden Fried Prawn ₹ 320. This wasn't upto the mark. The coating was really thick , the dip being the saviour. The prawns were french and thoroughly cooked . But wasn't tasty. May be a thinner coating could have made the difference. It was served with onion rings which were crispy and very tasty . We all enjoyed munching them. Next we moved on to our main course which consisted of the following items Mix Chow ₹190 Mix singapore Fried rice ₹210 Chilli chicken ₹190 Hunan Chicken ₹220 Lemon Fish ₹250 First of all quantity is huge. Like one rice and a side dish could be easily shared by 2 adults . Both the fried rice and noodles was full of chicken chunks, fried egg and prawns . It went very well with the chilly chicken. The chilly chicken was mildly spicy . Portion of chicken pieces were good. The hunan chicken had a really aromatic gravy and shredded pieces of chicken in it. I paired it with my noodles which again was well prepared. The lemon fish gravy had very strong taste of lemon and i personally feel it's slightly challenging preparation which they executed very well. Overall a great dining experience with live sports streaming on the tvs hung on the walls. Will love to get back in here to try out their Indian dishes as well.

Food is very Tasty , one of the Best Restaurants on Behala in D.H Road. Food Quality is very good , Price is also quite reasonable. Staff Service is not upto the mark they should work on that.The price is inclusive of GST Cleanliness is not upto the mark. Parking will be on the D.H. Road.Over all a Good Experience.

I went here with my family and ordered Mumtaz murgh tikka kebab, chicken 65, chicken biryani and vanilla icecream with hot chocolate sauce. Would totally recommend Mumtaz murgh tikka kebab, it's quite hot and well marinated. The interior is quite lovely and welcoming too and the staffs were quite courteous and prompt. Would definitely come here again!

The restaurant is in Behala 14 no. It's in the ground floor of a building. Keep your eyes open while walking in the footpath, you'll find this place. I have been visiting this restaurant since 2018. Since then I've been liking this restaurant for it's ambience, it's service. Everything is being maintained very well. It has some beautiful art works in its' wall, showing classical 'calcutta'. It's really a nice place. Now coming to other facts. It's absolutely a pocket friendly restaurant. They serves many varieties of dishes. A multi cuisine restaurant. But what disturbs me is that their quality of foods is decreasing day by day, which I didn't expect from them. I have always been amazed by their food. But last time I ate the in Durga Pujo'21, and I was so shocked by the food served by them. Also some of the dishes were actually good. But that doesn't justify other dishes. I hope that was for pujo only. Hope they'll serve better next time. I'll recommend to visit any day with your tight budget. And quantity is always enough for two. Review after next visit : It was great to have dinner again in sonamati after years. Every dish was so delicious, mouthwatering and quantity was more than enough as always. But they took a bit much time to serve the food. Staff behavior is good at all. Though I came for a wedding invitation here, but still I recommend you to use this place when you are around the 14 no. bus stand, Behala.... The option is good. But the food taste is not up to the mark. Ordered a blue lagoon for drinks, they served us blue colored sugar water.... Fully disappointed.. Not going there again...

Such a horrible place! Staffs were rude. We waited for 40mins after that some staff came to note down our order and when we asked how much time would it take to prepare our order; he said maximum 15-20mins . Whereas, it took 40mins. They served us noodles which was saltless and chilly chicken was hard to chew. There was another family sitting right next to us who came just after us and their food was served just after their entrace within 15mins and some staff came without wasting any time to note down their order. I feel these restuarant should treat people equally but there was no working and behaviour etiquettes in those staffs who were working in this restaurant. Staffs were busy watching IPL and making partiality .

Quite impressed when you are asked to scan a QR code to see the menu card. No physical menu card was given. Waiter is not fully aware of the way the dishes are prepared or presented. Few are not professionally trained of the hospitality etiquettes. Even though restaurant was occupied by only few patrons, they took a long time to serve us. Food quality and taste and quantity is ok, not very impressive. Online payment option is available which is good. Location also good bang opposite Behala thana.

Food is ok. Taste is moderate. Service is good. Atmosphere is also moderate. This place can accommodate a small to large groups. However the overall rating has been affected due to the fact that although this place charges GST accurately but the GST number is FALSE. Yes. I have checked it with the GST website and it was found that the GSTN mentioned in the bill is a false number. They don't have the number but are charging the extra money.

This is one of Behala's oldest restaurants and has recently been revamped, but the prices still remain reasonable! There is ample sitting area. We had ordered Chicken 65 and Mumtaz murgh tikka kebab for starters and butter naan with chicken bharta and Paneer Kadrai as sides and they are very tasty. Will definitely visit again.

Sonamati is one of the oldest restaurant at Behala 14.number. It is a multicuisine restaurant serving Chinese as well as Indian preparations. In the starters we tried - 1) Mumtaz murgh tikka kebab - It consisted of 6 kebabs and was served with chutney. It tasted damn good and highly recommended. 2) Chicken 65 - It consisted of chicken balls, the quantity of which is enough for two persons. The chicken were succulent and spicy. Thus it tasted very good and the ones who prefer spicy items will love it. In the main course we had - 1)Chicken Biryani - It consisted of egg, potato and chicken. The size of chicken was big and succulent. Thus tasted good. 2) Butter naan - The size and portion of butter naan was enough for two persons. There was sufficient amount of butter on it and tasted good. 3) Kadai paneer- It consisted of many paneer and the size of paneer was also good. It tasted damn good and thus recommended. 4) Chicken butter masala - The chicken was succulent and tasted good. It consisted of two pieces of chicken. 5) Chicken bharta - It was well cooked and was damn tasty. Thus recommended. Lastly we had cold drinks and ice-cream - We had butterscotch ice-cream with chocolate sauce in it. It tasted fantastic after a heavy meal. The ambience is renovated and is looking very beautiful. With beautiful romantic music and news streaming on the television, it is a great place for both couples and family gatherings. Thus highly recommended.

This is a very old restaurant located opposite to 14 no bus stand. I remember going as a kid with my friends. Now the food quality is not as before. Also they have not revamped this place in all these years which was much required.

It's an average restaurant. Special attraction is the kakatua and the macaw parrot. Food is more or less okay-ish. Space is enough. Overall an average restaurant.

The food is good, not great nor bad, the staff interaction was okayish as well. While I liked the food but I am a bit miffed because they took a lot longer than needed to serve every part of our order, & not just us, but every one else at the restaurant. Overall it was a mixed experience.

The first thing that comes to my mind is that the waiting time is very long in respect of placing order , getting the food . Chinese dishes are good here. Dried chilli fish was very good. Hong Kong chicken was very bad in taste. Please don't order ot if this review has reached you. Keep track of your orders and double check your bill since there were multiple instances of mistakes by the same waiter on the particular day I visited. Rest is all good. Give it a try!

I visited last end of November. Food was okay.. I ordered mutton biryani, chicken fried rice and hongkong chicken.. Chinese items were good (not authentic Chinese) like Indo-Chinese with bong notes in it. Mutton biryani was okay, very light in taste and mutton piece was small and less flesh. Chicken 65 - This item was served with pieces of chicken and it was presented with curry pata. The taste was awesome. It was spicy too, though everyone can have it. Must try this dish. Rating : 5/5 Mumtaz Murg Tikka Kebab - This item was served with 6 pieces of kebab, and with green sauce. The taste was really good. It had a lemon flavour so a kind of dish. Rating : 5/5 Chicken Biryani - This item was served with two pieces of chicken, one piece of potato and an egg. The quality and quantity was great. I've heard about this place a lot. Sonamati is a Multi cuisine restaurant located at behala 14 no. Bus stop. Visited this place before Christmas. They've decorated the restaurant beautifully and created a Christmas like ambiance. Now coming to the food, we've ordered Mumtaz murgh tikka kebab Chicken 65 Butter naan Kadai paneer Butter chicken Chicken biryani Chicken bharta Icecream Cold drinks Mumtaz murgh tikka was one of my favourite dish from their menu. The chicken pieces were decent in size and it wasn't really dry. It had a beautiful sweet taste which complemented really well with the green chutney. They make their chicken 65 with curry leaves in it which I've never seen anywhere. It was a pleasant visit. Do try their Mumtaz Murgh Tikka. Happy eating.
