    Place is good doctors are caring and good they can examine you for around half an hour which is good. And somehow costly you have to pay 850 for new patient and 700 for old for the first entrance or for examine. Canteen is available over there washroom too on every floor. But one thing the manegement system is worst don't go with your family over 3 people they can only allowed two people 1 is patient and one is his or her helper but they don't mercy to more than 2 people to enter even in waiting area they throw you away. And sit you down for another test for around 2 hours which is disgusting. Me and my grandmother gone over there in early morning and we came from the hospital in around 7 evening i told you very bad management services. Please go to Disha instead of this netralaya because an OCT test cost here is around 5k where same OCT done in disha at 500rs.

    Doctors are very good but the management staff behaviour is worst . Specialy the ladies who manages front desk of doctor they are very unfroffesonal . Giving 3 star 🌟 only for doctors, yes I have bad experience with the management staff but I should go there only for doctors.

    What's wrong with this hospital. Worst management and rude behaviour with patient. Ladies staff are so rude they don't even do their job perfectly. Instead of examining patient they are mostly busy on their phone on irrelevant topics. Doctors are good but staff are very rude and unprofessional. They don't know the value of time. If a patient came all the way for his/her treatment then the staff should understand the value of time. They used to kill lot of time after saying that we will call you in sometime. They scold patient like they are the boss. I saw them scolding other patient also including my mother. It's not tolerable at all.

    Pathetic management and patient comfort at the hosptial. The optometrist SUBHASHREE ROY, who checked my power was extremely rude. I am a doctor myself and I know that the way she checked my refractive power was wrong procedure . This is not the kind of quality you expect from a good hospital. After putting eye drops( tropicamide drops) in my eyes to dilate them for further check up. I was made to wait for about an hour because she went for lunch midway. I know for a fact that the eye drops work within 20-30 mins. So I don’t get why patient time has 0 value at the hospital. I have never seen such a rude and unprofessional optometrist in my life. I have worked in hospitals myself and I haven’t such bad management anywhere. I went to the hosptial at 11am and literally got free at 5:30pm. Just imagine spending 6.5 hours for a basic eye check up. Unless you are a very free and patient person, I strongly recommend don’t go there as it is not worth spending one whole day on a basic eye evaluation which is subpar. The only good thing was the consulting doctor but not worth the hassle and harassment one has to face at this hospital.

    Staffs are rude and hospital takes a lot of time for even a simple checkup. Arrived at hospital in morning 8:00 and got appointment with the doctor at 6:30 evening. Some of the female staffs are too arrogant and rude. They treat the visitors and even the patient very badly. No time management at all. They do not value anyone’s time

    What's wrong with this hospital. I am coming almost going 3 months this hospital but until now didn’t operation my father eye also call & tell me today your only check the eyes from 10.30am to 5.30 am only check the eye always give new data Worst management and rude behaviour with patient.     Wait time i.e from Billing to Dr Consultation is very high [Average 4Hrs.] Similarly for others tests. No interest shown by the admin group/management to improve this wait time or manage the appointment timing better to reduce the wait time and improve customer experience. Spoke with customer relationship manager and highlighted the issue but with no positive response. Team is justifying the wait time rather than taking some actions to review the workflow of consultations.. Patients with ample time should visit else look for other hospital for eye checkup/ treatment. Pathetic Patient experience. Not recommended at all !

    My husband is a patient of this hospital from 15 years. The only good thing is the doctors, the management should get a 0. We visited New Town branch for a minor surgery which takes 10 minutes according to our doctor, they asked us to reach by 7/7:30. We were simply sitting and waiting till 12 pm without any initimation about the surgery. When I asked about the protocol, the only answer we got was for precautions. Really? Their toilets are so dirty, the tea purchased had a fly. The burger was terrible. One of most horrifying experience.

    Rajarhat Newtown Shankar netralaya staff behaviour is very poor. their attitude feels like government officer. Waiting room are clean but chairs look like abandoned. Really disappointed 😔 for Dr's secretary staff behaviour. House keeping staff also shouted with my patient.

    Worst behaviour of the staffs. Behaviour of desk counters is like bossy. They treat patients with Street dog entired into their premises. They have no minimum type of humanity. Billing process is very slow. They use slang language with patients. Even they harrased a physical handicapped patient. Very poor humanity.

    I went to purchased power glasses in a optical shop as prescribed by the hospital, when I tried those prescribed glasses i was not able to see anything afterwhich i took an complimentary eyetest were it was found that i was prescribed with wrong power. Being a general human being i thought its a human error and called in the hospital to inform, in the call they were very nice to me and told to visit the hospital. After reaching the hospital i have seen an another side of the hospital where i was put to hold to confirm with doctor for almost 2 hrs even after prior information and after that they told me to pay the fee for the next test which they are going to take to correct there previous mistake. When i told them that it was not my fault then why should i pay ?, then one of the staff told me if you buy some good and you didn't like the taste do you ask for refund Firstly I was not asking for any refund ansd secondly there is a difference between liking and giving the wrong product or service if i haven't like the service that would be different matter but the hospital staffs have forced me to pay twice for the same service accepting that they have made a mistake. I will not recommend this hospital atleast this branch for not valuing there patients time, misbehaving and not giving the chance to the patient to speak and also for there unfair charges.

    Very poor staff service their security men and women's behaviors are very very poor they pretented that they are the best sequrities but they don't. Because of them i and my patient suffered a lot for some family reason we request for allowance of two attended but they keep ignoring us and keep arguing with us. Very bad receptionist also she also can't understand our feelings and matter. I have one suggestion for them to please try to understand a problem of people and don't argue with them because everyone has there different issue's rules are made for the people but people's don't made for rules please be polite and behave like human.

    I have been visiting Shankara Netralaya for last 4 months. It has very good doctors like Dr. Kumar Saurav. But the optho-neurology department Dr. Manideepa Banerjee is the worst doctor I have come across. She seems like she has no clue what she is talking about and lacks the concern and attitude of a doctor. Shankara Netralaya should look into this.

    This 5 star review is only and only for doctors. The front desk staffs(Female) are rediculous. They shows arrogant and rude behaviour to patients. Atleast management should take care of this. Price is very genuine. The main concern is doctors. They give time to patient, listens carefully and diagnose accordingly.

    My appointment was scheduled at 11:30 am, and finally I met the doctor at around 4:30pm. I dont think they paid enough values to Patient's time! They should provide proper appointment time. Even when I asked the receptionist about my turn to meet the doctor, she told me a wrong number. Atleast they should tell things properly. ??

    I have been sitting at Shankar Netralaya Hospital with a child since 9:30, but now it is 4 pm and the doctor has not shown up.If you ask, they say that the doctor's job was to eat and see the patient. Very bad condition. The reception staff is very rude.

    1. The customer care executive (lady) is so arrogant as if she is doing a favor to us by accepting the call. 2. They are not reachable over phone and no one even picks up the call. 3. Seems like the patient's time is invaluable for this hospital. 4. They should immediately change their staff or should make them understand how to talk with the patients politely. 5. Seems like they don't understand the word POLITE.

    Recently I have visited Sankar nethralaya for a little member of our family , the receptionist is very much cooperative and helpful , though it took a long wait to get the optometrist call us for refractive check ,she was very professional and friendly and the dr mam was very kind too , very pleased with the experience , as the waiting time is long ( due to large number of footfalls) we have spend time in the cafeteria which was neat and clean . Happy with the vist .

    I was trying to book an appointment over phone. I was continuously calling them from arround 2hrs. They picked the phone 2 times during 2hrs and without saying anything they cut the phone. Again I tried but no luck. I don’t know whoever on other side of the phone get paid for his duty or not. Don’t know if there is any proper administration or managment to monitor the quality of employees. Shankar Netralaya was my first choice but after failing to contact, finally I booked apointment in Disha Eye Hospital. Far far better response and service I got from them.

    I don't want to give a star but their is not a option for it. My experience is very bed about this. When you are a doctor and after prescribed any medicine and it react on body ( it's ok reaction may happen) after a week how can you told to patients go and consult any other doctors. If you don't know how to treat then it is not on your scope to handle any person. If you told that same thing on the conversation with you after reaction ( and I informed you about this on 27of April 22) and you give an appointment for 5th of May and you told go and consult to others. If you told the same thing on 27th then we go to other without any hesitation. My suggestion is be honest to people. Because only marketing is not on any social media, or any telivision the actual marketing is a people , one person can believe easily to other as compared to any media. Because it's is called and piramid marketing technology.

    Appreciations 1. Excellent team of doctors 2. Polite and well-behaved team of staff 3. Cleanliness is well maintained. Although the quality of medical care is good but it heavily lacks on these points. 1. Poor management - the hospital just works somehow. Appointment times are not respected at all. I got an appointment for 12 pm. but ended up visiting the doctor at 7PM. Reasonable delay is okay, but 7 hours? People come from various parts of the country and as well as outside India. No patient comes without a plan in hand. And you guys just screw them up without thinking even for a second. 2. Fish market and chaotic - Staff as well as the guards perhaps forget that they work in hospital. You don't find peace anywhere. 3. Guards are not trained - they are present to just welcome you and distribute masks if you don't have already. If there are patients crowing the front desk without reason, guards should help them settle down in their seats. Instead, they watch the show and don't want to intervene. 4. The canteen is another area of improvement - the price and quality of food do not match. Only cash is accepted in the era of digital payments. Seriously? Feedback for management: Please either add more doctors or reduce the patient intake. Both can not happen at the same time. I feel bad for the doctors who work for 12 hours without much needed break. They are human, and for them to do their job correctly, they can only see X number of patients in a day.

    Doctors are good but the Stuffs delay the services either may be it is instructed from the management or they are incompetent ...if they ask you for a laser/ consultation then it will take at least one full day ( believe me ) to complete the process .... the process is a waste and kills unnecessary time ....I have to visit because I do not have a better choice in Kolkata... I visited l v Prasad Banjara Hills and their process, services, staff behaviour really world class ... they are the best ....

    Sankar nethralaya is a very poor place for a patient. Today I have worst experience with staff and poor management system. Just wasted my time day and unable to do a normal test within a full day after 6 hours get my number for visiting doctor but alas doctor is just writing a test and leave for next visit.I have also complaint to PR team but they are just puted sugar coated words. Please don't visit this place for eye checkup.

    They say they are a non-profit charitable organisation on their website description, but they are charging minimum 600/- doc Fees . Atleast appointment should be free. staff behaviour is not good. Long wait time. Always manipulating the patients for surgery, laser or to take glasses even when it’s not required. If we have to pay, better to pay and show other doctors, who are worth it. Susrut salt lake is a better option, they charge 50₹/- for appointment and then follow the same process though. Take opinion from at least two doctors before going for surgery.

    My feedback would be 100% genuine and honest with my comment as I have just gone through with the New Town branch last couple of times for my Mother’s cataract surgery. First I will talk about the good things about this hospital: 1. Doctors are very highly talented and well behaved like my appointed doctor was Dr. Mihir sir and the laser maam Dr. Vidya Rest everything is worst about this hospital like management staffs, reception desk ladies, every time long long queue for any examinations or checkup. the desk staffs are very rude in behaviour, they don’t know how to behave with the patient who are already waiting for whole day a test or checkup…. I have been visiting this hospital and my waiting time on and average like more than 4hours…which is really unfortunate. please work out on these aspects.

    A well maintained eye hospital with affordable consultation fees. They keep a good check on cleanliness. My 2yr old son took off his shoes and held it in his hands, the lady guard came and asked us to get his hands washed. Talking about doctors, then a thorough check is done by the team of doctors. One need to take appointment before consultation, the person at receptionist gives the appointment usually of next day and also gives time slot for convenience.

    Management is very poor. I took appointment at morning 11 o clock and reached there in time. But they started treatment at 1230 hrs. They even dont think that patients also need lunch. At evng 0410 also I could not reach to my doctor to whom I have taken appointment. Full day for simple eye check up.

    Do not get fooled by their ambiance and complexity of procedures. The service of optometrists are extremely poor. They have detected wrong eye power causing me loss of money on prescription eye glasses (I have very high minus power). Plus the doctors are not at all qualified. They cannot even provide answers to simple questions on cross eyes. Especially do not go for Dr. Suchetana Mukherjee. She could not answer to my questions but asked me to visit again after 6 months! They will rip you off (one appointment costed Rs. 500 in 2018, separate charge for contact lens trial) in the name of their brand value and god forbid you might go home with a wrong prescription!

    If possible I will give zero star even negative 5 star rating. You have to waste your entire day if you visit there . No one respect value of time. Reception super slow < billing counter more slower < Dr. meet is like you see God . Even government hospitals inspite of having infrastructure issue and Dr. shortage they give better service. Please avoid this place .

    Pathetic management. Had an appointment at 10.30 am. Reported at 10.15 am and waited for 2 hours for initial billing only. Huge crowd of patients waiting in the lobby and everywhere. No proper crowd management. Rude staff not keen to answer questions. There were people coming from far off places. Got to see my doctor at 3.30 pm. Some folks come accordingly. At least keep 5-6 hours in hand. I would advise to go and visit other eye hospitals.

    On 25/7/19 I met Dr. and he seen my Eye problems and prescribe the Medicine time wait 4.30 Hrs. and fixed the next appointment on10th Aug.today11 a.m.Even after prior appointment ,2nd times I faced long waiting about 4Hrs.absolutely unnecessary to wait 4hrs. Requested management please update your system in outdoor otherwise I should never come further.Our simple question today Dr.Debi Kundu seen me only 3 min. But even after appointment waiting time 4 Hrs. Why you treated by this? for waiting 4 Hrs. If appointment fixed then First you have to treatment me not waiting 4 Hrs.

    Very poor from this level of hospital. Does not have an emergency unit. Why is it a hospital make it a clinic? I brought my friend who needed emergency eye treatment. They asked whether I have an appointment. I said any doctor will be good. They made us wait for an hour then asked to visit the Mukundapur branch as no doctor is available for appointment as well. Worst branch of sankara netralaya unlike Mukundapur.

    Hospital: Please come with around 6-8 hours in hand for normal/routine eye checkup. I got my dad's cataract eye (both) surgery done from this hospital in Jan and Feb 2020. Had to visit 6 times and on every visit they had unnecesarily made us wait for 6-8 hours. When i asked the receptionist for this long waiting everytime, she just said that this process is set by hospital administration so you have to wait. She also said that doctors and optrometrist are less and patients are more. Better we had opted for Susrut or any other eye care foundations. Its 4:30 PM, waiting in hospital since 10 AM morning and still in queue after 7 patients. Dr. Suchetna Mukherjee: 5 stars for her behaviour and treatment. One of the best ophthalmologist in Kolkata.

    I went there for eye check. They gave me glasses. But only one eye lens was good. The other eye lens was not perfect. I called them and they said me to look at the object for longer time and wait for few more days. Now because of pandemic I am struck.

    I visited with my father at this place and there supporting staff and receptionist and most probably their security persons are just behaving like they are the owner and head of all things in this hospital they just harrased us and our patients for billing reasons they called my admitted patient to ground floor billing counter.

    Good reception Helpful staff Parking space available. Small cafe at waiting lounge (sandwich 20/-, tea 11/-) Canteen facility is there (110/- thali-- rice, dal, vaji, sabji, dahi) Extra dahi, water bottle available here. At entrance 1st you have to wash your hand with liquid hand soap, infront of main entrance.

    Nice place for hangout and timepass....It will take you atleast 5-6 hrs for the full checkup incase you are not a VIP...Right from the time you enter the gate you will be in a paradise full of arrogant misbehaving people who don't care about you...And you will be at the mercy of them......Less manpower and that's the reason you are forced to wait....But doctors are good specially mine and that's how I need to cope up with them......

    1. They try to show they have lots of patients that's why the patients have to sit for a long time but the dr. is sitting doing absolutely nothing in their cabin . 2.     Your newton branch will be lockdown if you do not review your staff behavioral training. Worthless , they need a good training how to handle patience and their relatives.. We are paying the money to get good treatment and good experience but if you visit once, youwill not come again. Shankar netralaya please either change the customer care and staffs from there or give them traing. Else your reputation will go for a toss

    This hospital is ruining the brand name of (Shankar Nethralaya) because they provide 3rd class service worst compared from a government hospital. They only know how to make patient for endless hours before meeting with Doctor. Pathetic service worst employee ever found in any hospital.

    One of the worst management in hospital sector. They take Money and lots of time for treatment. On top of that every staff except doctor seems frustrated of their job. They are rude to patients, most of time. Doctors have no time to explain their prescription, so does attended. If asked twice to explain they will, with rude tone. Every staff has lack of time and they think patients have infinite time to waste here. Prefer alternate option for treatment, if possible.

    Pathetic staff behaviour. Staff will talk to you roughly, no proper answer to questions. I am shocked to see such culture in such a reputed organisation. I believe staff should be given moral and ethical value training. Then only it will grow. Horrible Management.

    Don't go over here. Here too much politics and supportisim going on. If anyone will go plz chk the serial number bcoz for my mom case I have visited in the morning with 2nd number patient but while allowing to doctors chamber they are making delay. That time I asked to that receptionist who has working on the same but they are telling yor number will come but when I asked to show in the system that time already 15 patients gone. Then while I am asking to that lady, she was arguing with me. Thn I had complain abt same with senior lady officer, she is also supporting to that receptionist. So Better to go with any other Eye hospital bcoz u can save yor time and for senior citizen u will not worry.

    Kamalnayan Bajaj Sankar Nethralaya is the eye care facility in New Town area. The Doctors and staff are very much competent in their own field. The canteen serves the patients and the patient parties as well. The nice location is gracefully decorated. The appointment can be taken through online and offline mode. It is about 16.5 Km from Sealdah station and 26 Km from Howrah station. The time to reach the Nethralaya will depend on the mode of transportation.

    SN Doctors are good however the management is the worst. They call the patient and ask to wait for 4 hours then if doc is sent for the test you need to wait again for 2 hours. once you have the report you need to wait again 2 hours to show the report to the doctor. They font care even if the patient is 65 years old. Such a horrible service even after paying a huge. Message to management - please at least run a clean process for aged patients.

    A good eye hospital. The staff are friendly and hospitable. I took my father there. The doctor repeated the diagnosis many times and spent a good deal of time explaining the problem. They have a decent parking facility, so that was pleasant. Overall, good hospital especially for senior citizens.

    Its very good hospital for eye. There is an another branch located in EM byepass, kolkata. It is coming from Chennai. The place it is located is very nice as per environment,newtown grenny environment, all the staff is very cooperative. The doctors are very friendly in nature and cooperative. Go ahead for this.it is very close to bus stand. Very popular place in eye treatment.

    Myself being a consultant gynaecologist went to show my daughter there to Dr. Biswas for the first time. The experience was horrifying , starting from the reception ground floor. Inspite of asking for the correction of her name they did not bother to do it. Coming to the Opd floor, the receptionist asked me ( patient party) to give eye drop to my child ( without knowing my profession). This is very miserable. Next the dr did not even mind to tell me the present status of her illness ( what we call as explaining to the party). I could not imagine how the standard of this hospital has fallen down ( compared to Chennai,(SN) where I regularly go). This needs immediate attention to keep your fame undisturbed.

    Worst management. If you do not have any value of time you can come here. You have to roam around here and there entire day for different test and they will refer other dr. Each may take minimum 2~3hrs!! They should accommodate more doctors to handle such big patients crowd.

    Reception guys asked us to wait for 3 hours in emergency situation. Our patient faced an accident and stopped complete vision in one eye thereafter. This did not convince them as an emergency situation! Never visit this place in an emergency!!

    I m ok with doctors and staffs .. i feel bad when some of the receptionist dont pay attention to the patient attender.. today i m with my mom sitting idle over here nd 1 of the receptionist is acting as if we just came now.. me nd mom entered 8.30 am and it is almost 2.15 pm ,, they are making us wait .. dont know what is their problems?? Y dont she let doctor know about our appointment timing?? It was on 2 pm nd we already are late by 16 mins.. every time we have to face some kind of problem with the receptionist..

    Recently my father was operated here. Overall it was a good experience, with smiling and patient staffs (sometimes they also get irritated), facility to avail snacks / food, process oriented and methodical approach and finally a good and confident doctor who counsels and deliver services with smile. However the only challenge is a patient has to be patience enough on the waiting time, no matter what his or her age or condition is. You should keep nearly 4 hours on an average in any kind consulting process be it approval from a physician as operative pre-checks. My request is, if there is a process to expedite senior citizens in the queuing process (banks nowadays are doing that) it will be great. Thanks!
