My girlfriend and I visited Stem & Glory for her birthday and the overall experience was positive. The service was quick and friendly, the location is nice and the premises looked modern and clean. On the other side, some of the dishes we ordered were good but others not as great. For example, the Tofu Yakitori was really good and tasty, and the cauliflower buffalo wings as well. However, the Goan squash curry lacked flavor. We would definitely recommend the place because it's entirely vegan with a number of different options.

I rarely bother to write reviews because I know that sometimes people may be having a bad day or it’s just one of those things (esp during these times) BUT I feel so compelled to share this awful experience with you. Due to the pandemic, things were super quiet in Brighton so we strolled upon this beautiful looking little find in the heart of town. We just fancied a hot drink, nibbles and something sweet so expressed this after entering. Bear in mind that there were only two other couples in the entire restaurant! Even before we were taken to our seats, the woman behind the bar on the right (who I now understand is the ‘manager’) asked us what drink we wanted, and with what type of milk - bear in mind, the door had just been shut and we were standing there waiting to be seated by the other female assistant. We were slightly taken aback by the brashness of this but gave our order nevertheless and were then seated. Very bizarre to not even be seated before giving our order across a bar but I digress ... Having just taken our coats off, and the menus just being placed on our table, the same woman that ‘greeted’ us came back to get our order - again, having just been seated. I then politely asked to have a bit of time as we’d hardly taken a breath before orders were being demanded so quickly - within no more than 5 minutes of entering the restaurant. We knew that something didn’t feel right but we continued briefly, before asking for the dessert menu to which the ‘manager’ gave me such a repugnant attitude and look - huffing under her mask. At that point, we decided that we weren’t going to stand for this and informed the same woman that we were going to leave. She didn’t ask why, or if there was an issue but just stood there and watched us leave. Was this racial? Perhaps sexist? Even a bad day? Or just prejudice full stop? I have no idea, but what I’m certain about is that I will never visit this establishment again. To be made to feel the way that we were in those few minutes is not only disgusting, but unacceptable on every level. No matter who you are or what your needs may be, don’t ever make people feel the way you did in those moments. You have no idea who we were, what we wanted or what positivity we could’ve added to your day today, especially during these unprecedented times. But you’ll never know, because our business went to an establishment who were all of the things you should’ve been. If I could’ve given zero stars I would’ve. Merry Christmas!

My favourite restaurant in the whole world. I have being going there every Sunday without fail for the last 15 years and have never had anything but an excellent experience. Some of my family members are vegetarians, but I am not. Nonetheless the outstanding selection of absolutely delicious food makes me look forward to my every visit. Plus the staff are friendly, professional and passionate about their work-place.

Overhyped!! The menu had a lot of dips and chutneys but main course options were very limited. Desserts were ok. It closes by 10pm, but the food isn't refilled long before the closing. There were only 4 Indian menu options in main course, and that too were not refilled/replaced. We ended up eating just some starters and deserts even after paying so much.

My regular place to go as I am a vegetarian. But even if you are not, you will find the food and ambience amazing. They have a few locations, my favourites are the Sihlstrasse and Hiltl Dachterrase.

We loved to taste food in the oldest veggie restaurant. The service was great. This is the go-to-place for a healthy and quick takeaway or for a nice, cozy lunch with colleagues and friends. Generally, however, because we are both vegan, we believe there are better vegan places in Zurich to have a fancy dinner experience. While we liked Hiltl a lot, the food experience did not blow our mind.

We were here after much hype over the all vegetarian menu and the oldest vegetarian restaurant to try in Zurich but was not left impressed. The food quality is good and tasteful. They are associated with Tibit’s chain of restaurant which has similar concept of buying your food from the buffet and weighing them to pay by their weight. We had reached around 8.30pm and were seeing that many options were already finished with the chef’s not refilling them for the fact that the restaurant closes by 10pm. For a better experience would recommend to consider this as a lunch option and should be ok even if missed.

We had a long day walking the seven sisters cliffs in August and on the train back to Brighton tried to book a restaurant in the centre of the city. We succeeded to book a table at Food for friends much later in the day. We arrived at the restaurant one hour before our booking time to check if by any chance our table was free earlier and luckily it was. We have to say that the receptionist and our waitress then were both professional and friendly and made us feel welcome although we were dressed more for a hike than for a night out. Food was lovely. I am not a vegetarian and did not miss the meat at all. My husband is a vegetarian and he was equally pleased. I think the name of the restaurant is well chosen and we will try to go again. Recommended.

Had an amazing birthday meal here, the staff made every effort to make it an excellent experience for us, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a excellent table in a quieter part of the restaurant which was helpful for those in our family who are hard of hearing. We also had money off our meal as they are continuing the eat our to help our scheme. They kept our water topped up (which is always annoying in other restaurants when they don’t do that!), apologised for food being late (we hadn’t even realised ourselves) and when an item wasn’t available on the menus went out of their way to rectify the situation. The food was outstanding and the drinks menu was excellent. Our server Francesca was excellent and she really made it a great evening - she even brought us complementary bread and birthday truffles!

Award winning vegan and vegetarian restaurant. We have been going there for years and always enjoyed the experience. The cocktails are superb so do treat yourself - it is wort it! The service is excellent and they make you feel you are looked after. The hardest thing is not ordering every single course. I found out that an afogato to finish it off is the best way to go. The absolute best. Been here 3 times so far and they have all been exceptional. Came here on our anniversary most recently and they gave us a lovely free anniversary dessert. The corn ribs are the most delicious thing ever, they had sold out of the them last time we went which almost broke my heart but they made up for it with their other gorgeous dishes. We had an amazing meal at Food For Friends just after the most recent lockdown had ended, to celebrate (slightly belatedly) our anniversary. The staff were really warm and welcoming in what must be uncertain times for them, which made me think it's being well managed from that point of view. The food came promptly and in good portions. First and foremost, the corn on the cob ribs are something to behold. They're an unassuming item on the menu, but really over deliver. Bao buns were ace, deep-fried cauliflower delicious and some top notch chips and all worked well. Thoughtfully we got a little plate of anniversary truffles, but followed them with some sumptuous deserts including a fantastic affogato. All in all highly recommended.

Love this place, their roast dinner is to die for, and their service is brilliant.

The food here is ridiculously good. So good in fact that after a mouthwatering dinner last night, we returned this morning for breakfast! Last night we had dishes ranging from Sri Lankan curry, to crispy cauliflower (the best), fried tofu, noodles and every single thing was completely delicious, and gluten-free too which was a bonus for me. The veggie breakfast this morning was also amazing, the oyster mushrooms were my favourite on the plate. Super nice and efficient service and lovely decor too. A real winner and I can’t wait to come back.

Forgot to take photos but OH. MY. GOD! Everything was amazing from start to finish! The service was just as good as the food, which was impeccable. We ordered Bao Buns and Crispy Thai Cauliflower to start, then Gnocchi and the Sri Lankan Curry for main with a side of corn, and then Banana Toffee Pudding for dessert - all accompanied with a gorgeous bottle of Côtes du Rhône. I've already recommended it to friends and we'll be back as soon as we're back in Brighton. Thank you so much!

Great Festive Roast and Bourgignon, cannot recommend enough. All the food and drink were great with an amazing service. Can't wait to go again

This is a fine dining restaurant located near St Paul's. The place is very clean and nicely decorated. There is outside seating when the weather is good and the inside is air-conditioned. The staff is efficient and helpful. I recommend you to book in advance as it is busy, especially on Wednesdays when they are doing the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. I had the Bao burger and the raspberry cheesecake. Both were amazing - tasted great and felt healthy. The burger is £14 and the cheesecake £7.5. They are quite filling but don't make you feel bloated.

This place was a gem! Food was clean and tasty. We had plant based Goan curry and a Bourguignon and some wonderful desserts we ate before taking pictures haha. Service was great and the atmosphere was relaxed. They change their menu which we love so it's a great reason to come back.

Came here for dinner with some friends and what a great experience. We were sat up at the bar by the kitchen and it was amazing watching the two brilliant chefs cooking, preparing, and plating the food. They were constantly on the move and everything was done with precision. It made our mouths water and the anticipation for our food was huge. The food we good was great, we had 'meatballs' and a redang curry. Both of which were excellent. Huge flavours and well balanced. Finally, to top it all off the serving staff were charming and excellent.

Never tried vegan before, so wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to find a broad menu full of delicious combinations, some of which I couldn’t work out how it would taste, but everything was absolutely top quality. I had the BBQ Cauliflower Wings and then a Yogi Bowl. Delicious! Time has certainly been taken to create a diverse range of dishes and I can’t wait to return to try the rest of the menu. Staff are world-class too, very warm and welcoming... Oh, get on the Gamma Ray ale too, that’s special stuff. Well done Stem + Glory, 10/10 from me!

As a vegan this is the worst place I have eaten in London. Everything is cooked in a very superficial way with no attention to flavor and details. This place is for people who don’t care about what they eat. The Califlowers are mushy and the sauce is extremely sweet and unhealthy The lasagna is filled with bad cut veggies in watery sauce The shakshuka has plain tomato sauce in it, taste like it has just came out of the jar The tofu is is soggy, tasteless, with a very bad quality pickled ginger on the side.

This place is amazing. The food was soooo delicious and they went above and beyond when I asked them what their options were for my celiac friend. I got an email directly from the manager and chef, reassuring me that it was 100% safe for her. Once in the restaurant my friend was so happy that for the first time she could eat anything in the menu without restrictions. The wine was delicious as well and the waiter was very nice at all times. I can’t recommend this place enough.

I moved into Barts Square just before lockdown so it’s been fantastic to have a local and independently owned restaurant back open over the last couple of weeks. I’ve been a couple times since reopening and the team and the menu are fab. Highly recommended!

We sat at the Chef's Table and enjoyed seeing the chef create amazing vegan dishes throughout our lunch. The staff was very attentive and even after a mixup with our table when we arrived they made sure we forgot all about it. The food was delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant nice and bubbly. If you are vegetarian or vegan than this is place for you for sure. This is good place with range of vegetables and items. The whole restaurant is vegetarians so even no need to worry those who are strict vegetarian. Buffet style so grab what you need or want to eat ans pay accordingly. Nice place to have veg meal.

Went for brunch. Big range of brunch buffet options. All nice and tasty. On Sundays they offer the all you can eat option, doe around 60Fr, including 2 warmth drinks and 1 glass of prosecco (In this sense, I know in Geneva it's more common the all you can eat options with also unlimited glasses of champagne or prosecco, and usually a little less expensive). Remember this isn't a VEGAN place, but VEGETARIAN, so you'll find recipes with eggs and cheese for example. When booking a table, ask for one in the same floor as where the buffet is located (ground floor), otherwise you'll end up going up and down the stairs when you need a refill of your plate.

Amazed at how they could come up with so many vegetarian dishes and was definitely greedy with the amount of food I have taken hehe. If you opting for the self service buffet, just walk in, take a plate, fill it up and pay at the counter. You can also show your vaccination Cert while paying. Then proceed to any of the self service tables (they have a sign on it) and enjoy your meal. My favorite dish of all was this layered pumpkin. The host at the front door was polite and helpful. One of the best buffets in the world! This was already one of my favorite restaurants even before I became vegan. They have a large variety of special dishes from several countries and all of them are really delicious! Everything is fresh and tasty. Even non-vegan people will love it.

The whole experience was amazing. I was a bit surprised at how big the place was and how busy it was. The buffet gets very busy and we booked the a la carte option for a more intimate dining experience. Our waitress was Jessica and she was absolutely excellent. Very polite, did not rush us, kept us informed as the main was a bit delayed and was great overall. The food was very nice. It was very well put together and it was getting towards the level of some of the fine dining Michelin star restaurants I have been to. The location is in the heart of Zurich city and is easily accessible by public transport or with conveniently located car parks. Special mention to the freshly squeezed juices and an innovative dessert spread. Would recommend this place without a blink of an eye to anyone visiting Zurich. Hiltl has few other locations as well. We really loved the spread and hospitality of this one!!!! Last point - you pay by the weight. So damn convenient!!

An interesting thing, you pay for the weight of the food, which seemed odd to me and resulted in a good, but overpriced meal. Then, it is Switzerland. I am not even vegan and this was one of the best meals I've ever had. The Tikka Masala was nothing short of perfect. Fried cauliflower bites were packed with flavor 🤌 Decent prices for the quality of food. It doesn't get much fresher than this.

The first restaurant during the Liechtenstein and Switzerland short trip! I am nowhere near a vegetarian but like trying out new places and so why not also this one? Would be my second vegetarian experience. Can not say that it disappointed. Not only is it pretty inside but it is also much larger then one would expect when looking at the place. The hiltl amber beer Was tasty and my cordon bleu was also nice. I could barely taste out that its vegetarian. All in all good!

We went here for the summer menu, which was absolutely outstanding. All food items were delicious and the service was excellent (we had to wait a bit for our food but they made up for it by giving us free which was a very nice surprise and super service!) One of the highlights was the dessert of the menu as the tiramisu was generous and delicious especially when paired with the desert buffet - we were really stuffed! Will definitely come again 😁

So amazing. Oldest vegetarian restaurant in Europe I believe. I would go vegetarian all the time if I could eat at a place like this more often! Amazingly intricate flavors and as an American I had never consumed "PLANTED." It is an artificial meat made in Switzerland and has a texture so convincing I thought it was a mistake and chicken had ended up on my plate! Not usually one to experiment or try new flavor combinations but everything we tried here exceded my expectations. Definitely an adventure for your palate.

Totally worth it for a luxury food experience. I had a huge plate that I couldnt finish and was 30 francs… but probably only need about about 70% of that… so probably could have spent about 22… open spaciousness and light… great host at the front door explained everything… best to get to the buffet and self serve for value… oh they had gluten free bread in a wrapped packet too.
