Wow. This is definitely the best Indian restaurant in North Dakota, if not the best Asian restaurant. Their "super casual" demeanor makes it easy on the customer and the food comes out within minutes of ordering it (not an exaggeration). Their mango Lassi and juice are fresh from the mango. Their butter chicken is extremely good. And finally, their chicken Tikka kabob is the best! Everything was tender, their garlic nann is plentiful, and the owner's son is super polite. If you're on the fence about restaurants, come here.

Shrimp Ka-Rara: This meal is the best thing I’ve had in a long time. Firstly, the shrimp is meaty and large with a slight taste of the ocean so you know it’s fresh not frozen but not overpoweringly fishy. It paired perfectly with this coconut dish. With real roasted coconut to increase the coconut flavor. This meal was not lacking one thing. I had this with Naan and rice. It is filling and perfect for 2 but it was just me and I ate this delicious meal way too fast wishing in the end a new bowl would appear. This did not disappoint and I would recommend it to everyone. I had it hot and I would get it hotter just so you can truly feel the heat. The perfect dish 5/5 Rice 2/5 it’s just rice but the rice should still taste good Naan 3/5 the butter Naan is good. Wasn’t the best Naan I’ve had. The bread was a little thick and the flavor of the butter was insufficient. Costumer service: the guy is very personable and welcoming. Tells you a bit about the place and how it started! The place is so charming.

The best Indian in town, hands down. Been eating here for years, never had a dish that was a miss. My wife has settled on saag paneer, and I'm a big fan of the karara's with whatever protein or the fish curry. What makes this place more special is the extremely polite and cheery owners. Even in the take-out world we now live in, it brightens my day each time. Thank you my friends!

We ordered from this place for the first time the other day. When I went to pick up the carryout order, the guy was super friendly and welcoming and just had a great energy. Everything was delicious. We tried a few apps, a tea and a couple kinds of Naan. Couple sides, two mains and a dessert. Everything was correct and great. We can't wait to go back and dine in and try more stuff on the menu!

DO NOT MISS OUT ON INDIA PALACE EVERY time we come to, or pass through Fargo we stop to eat at India Palace. Zero exceptions. Firstly, the service is absolutely incredible. The owner is always present, and he is an awesome guy. We have never once felt like he didn't care about customers or as if he didn't care about the food quality. The food is AMAZING. I cried the first time I ate the Lamb Korma. I apologized to my wife that I will never cook anything as good as the folks at India Palace. I know food. I'm experienced with food from a culinary standpoint and I'm familiar with food being an experience and opportunity for expressiveness the same as any art. The cooks get it. You can bite into any dish and taste the joy. There's no room for negativity in a mouthful of India Palace's rice. I could imagine Julia Child, or Anthony Bourdain, or Gordon Ramsay eating at India Palace and loving it.

Ordered through uber eats. Food was good, but there was no way these small portions were worth $20.00 and $6 Edit: Could've saved $4. As in these small portions are worth $22 before taxes. Yeah, so I looked this up. The restaurant raised their prices per item delivered to cover what uber eats charges them. I get that, but like I stated those small samples aren't worth the original price.

One of the best Indian restaurants that I have been to and probably the best one in North Dakota, considering Bismarck and Fargo are the two big cities. Authentic North Indian taste and nothing is overdone! I was travelling across the state and stopped by there for lunch. I am glad did. The owner/host (Harpal) is gem of a sweet person and handles the guests very well. Highly recommended!

We crave Indian food frequently, so we've tried many places in the Fargo-Moorhead area. When it comes to certain favorite dishes of ours, like Chicken Korma, these guys are the best! Not only is their food among the best we've found, their service is top-notch. The guy who is always there when we take-out is incredibly kind and positive, and he makes the few minutes you're standing there such a pleasant experience every time. Highly recommend!

First time ordering today online. No dine in service. Ordered at 2:23 and took about 15 minutes to get there and it was perfect timing. Fast service and friendly. And most importantly I love love love everything I bought. Tried a few things since I never been. Also, I choice “medium” for level of hotness for both dishes and it felt spot on. Definitely will order again.

We miss this family so much. We live in Indianapolis and have not found a restaurant that comes close. We lost track of them when they moved, but the new address showed up in a memory from 10 years ago. Fargo is lucky to have them, and next year we will visit. Stay safe George and Kim

The server/host was very nice and welcoming and it smelt very nice inside the restaurant. Very casual ordering! The appetizer came out very quickly and was delicious and the entree's came out shortly after. Food was plentiful and delicious and the garlic naan was nice and crispy and tasted great. Left with enough food for several meals of leftovers.

This is the most enjoyable experience we have ever had at a restaurant! We were passing through Fargo and had to visit multiple times and still crave it. The casual dining experience was amazing and we loved how laid back the environment was! They make you feel like family. By far the best Indian food we’ve ever had! And AFFORDABLE! Absolutely extraordinary curry and I especially love this type of rice. The naan was hot and fresh and better than I would have imagined. Fresh vibrant flavors in the curry and excellent chicken. I would only suggest one thing, and that is to add prices to the menu for overall transparency and customer trust. We made two meals each out of two dishes....the portions are very acceptable.

this is what they consider $50 worth of food. i paid $1.50 extra for triple spice and it went down like water. extremely disappointed

I ordered through grub hub so can’t speak to service or atmosphere, but, I was appalled because 1- I had not ordered here since covid and discovered the portions are literally half vs. the cost which is now almost twice what I paid in 2020. 2- they sent me undercooked tandoori chicken vs tender chicken tikka masala. I used Aldi canned sauce to save the meal. Sad. Won’t order or go to this place again and do not recommend.

Good food won’t disappoint

Pros: Efficient, welcoming, tech savvy, good I appreciated that various leftover containers were laid out on counter for anyone to grab whichever size needed (i.e. didn't have to wait for a staff person which can sometimes be annoying if you're in a hurry.) Welcomed with smiles and offers to answer anything. Food came within 10 minutes, more smiles and requests for feedback (way to set high standards, guys, good job.) Food: ordered butter chicken (flavorful, too tomato ish for me but now I know....gotta try it first, right?) Came with generous portion of well cooked rice. Paneer Naan (cheese bread inhouse) delish, soft. Dessert: rasamalai (cheese with sweetened milk and a couple crumbs of pistachios.) A little small portioned for price, but the type of soft cheese may be hard to source. Cons: it wasn't the "Passage to India" restaurant still leading my favorite list for Indian dining in Fargo with its tasty charcoal toasted kebabs. Also, if you didn't bring your cell phone you can't look up pricing before you order at the counter. This is a moot point for most, just giving a heads up to folks my parents' age.

I absolutely love this place! My husband and I could eat the tikka masala for every meal and be happy. We are always greeted with a smile and friendly attitude the second we walk through the door. Pick up orders are FAST. I wish that I could give this place more than 5 stars.

My brother and I ordered some samosas to share, chana masala for me, and chicken biryani for him. The chana masala is a dream, pillowy tender chickpeas in a complex spicy gravy that's unique among variants of the same dish I've tried. Samosas were enormous, stuffed to the brim, and complete with two different chutneys for dipping.

They have all the classics and I love how they give you different heat options with each dish, mild to very hot. This isn't some lame midwestern heat. If you want some spice they can do that for you. As expected the service is outstanding and the owners and staff are super helpful and friendly.

Had been gone from Fargo for 3 years and came back and ate here. Still the great taste of home cooked hot meals. Very reasonable prices. Always will recommend to people.

The food was very good. The vindaloo was really good to say the least, the difference between spicy and very spicy was a huge jump so be somewhat warned. The chicken tandoori was also really good and a meal for two at least. The lamb is really good and the goat is also really good. The customer service was bar none the best I've seen in a while.

Have been eating here for about 6 years and it is always a treat with their impeccable service and outstanding food. My kids love eating at India palace and they are always so accommodating to my family and I. There is a dish for anybody that can be spiced to your liking. So blessed to have such a great Indian restaurant in our city!

Best Indian food!!! I've had a lot of Indian food before and this is one of the top ones I've had, anywhere! We stopped here on a road trip and found this gem for lunch buffet. It was a typical selection for Indian buffets but the stand out was the goat in curry sauce! It had just the right amount of lean and fat. The texture was terrific and very tasty. The spinach was also excellent with just the right amount of spice. The host was very passionate and friendly. Greeted us right away and showed us around on the buffet. You can tell he was proud (and rightfully so) of the food. If this was closer to home, I would go out of my way to eat here.... but 2000 miles is a bit much to drive for any restaurant.

The food was awesome! I had the lamb makhani butter. It’s not easy finding good Indian cuisine but this place does it right. I tried the Taj Mahal Indian beer for the first time and it was good. Our server was very friendly and did an awesome job. Wish I would of got his name.

Best vegetarian food from Northern India in Fargo, ND.

The food was very good, but the service was awful! We ordered delivery to a picnic area in a nearby park. The food arrived in decent time, but we weren't given any forks/spoons or napkins! We asked if the delivery driver could please bring us some, since we were down at the park for the day and don't actually live in Fargo, so we didn't have any silverware with us. The driver was very nice and offered to go back to the restaurant and bring us what we needed. We waited for several minutes, and then she called back and said that the manager told her that they don't supply silverware or napkins and they refused to help us. We spent the following hour running around a town we weren't familiar with trying to find a store that sold what we needed. The food was cold by the time we finally could eat, and my toddler was overly hungry and cranky. The food tasted great, but it wasn't worth the hassle. It's too bad, because I really would love to eat it again, but I think I'll try a different place next time. What kind of restaurant offers delivery but doesn't include silverware or napkins? And is so rude about it on top of that. Food is 4 stars, but service is 0.

My goodness is this place good. First time ordered here and during restaurant restrictions with covid and I have to say, it did not disappoint. I had lived in the area for a year and had not found a good Indian cuisine place, until now. I had their Ka-Rara chicken and it was the perfect blend of spice and heat with a hint of coconut milk on the after taste. Exactly what I was craving for lunch and absolutely exceeded expectations. I will be returning!

Best restaurant in Fargo, period. Chili Balti and the Rogan Josh are excellent. Curry is also outstanding. Tikka masala and Butter chicken are great for first timers but aren’t quite as powerfully spiced. Make sure to get the garlic naan on the side. Harpal is so gracious and welcoming. Get over your inhibitions of Indian food and try the place out. Everyone I introduce raves about it.

Wow! My daughter and I ate here while on a shopping trip to Fargo. We both enjoy ethnic food and happened to come across the India Palace by chance while shopping in the area. We were greeted with “Welcome friends” and shown to our table. Our server was helpful in assisting to make a selection. While we appreciated the warm, friendly service- it was the food that leaves us wishing for an India Palace in Bismarck! It was just so delicious! Like a symphony of flavors in my mouth. Eat there. When I was leaving a tip the employee continually thanked me & said how much the team appreciates it - as someone who spent 3 of the last 4 years working in the food and beverage industry, not leaving a tip never even crossed my mind. We talked a little & when I walked back to the car I told my family we’re coming back because of the staff alone. When we got home, we were super impressed with the food. I hadn’t gotten to enjoy Indian food in a long time & this made my day!

Easily one of the best restaurants in Fargo, and dare I say, in North Dakota too. Not just great Indian food for the region, but just great Indian food: they'd hold their own in any large city. The owner is a treasure (you will regularly be greeted with "Hello my friends!"), and the food is fabulous. I've worked through a good chunk of their menu and they do all their dishes well, but I especially recommend any of their baltis and it is absolutely required that you order their naan with some chutney. Portions are super generous too, wife and I regularly get 2-3 meals each out of one dish.

Phenomenal food, we order takeout quite often, service is always prompt. I’ve only had an order wrong one time and they corrected it very quickly and even drove it out to us! Highly recommend the Tikka Masala, shahi korma and vindaloo, as well as the lamb naan.

Excellent India Resturant in Fargo. One should visit this place for good food, and quality time.

Their Byrani is excellent as well as their lunch buffet if you're looking to sample a lot of different items. Service is amazing too.

However don't be fooled that you will get anything close to native Indian food here. I've eaten Indian in Malaysia and Singapore and this is not in the same universe. Also be warned the portions are small for the price. We did not receive any silverware or even napkins although they only do takeaway currently. The decor on the inside was lovely and the gentleman taking our order was very nice. The real issue with this restaurant is the value proposition (I've eaten better indian for cheaper out of a gas station less then two weeks ago for much less) and the general lack of spice/seasoning. All of our dishes were ordered extra hot and could have been safey eaten by a baby,no joke.

I think I've tried almost every single dish on the menu over the years and each and every one is always excellent. The prices are spot-on and worth every penny. I've been going to India Palace for years and years and can, with the deepest sincerity, say that India Palace is my favorite restaurant in all of the Fargo/Moorhead area. The staff is so incredibly kind and courteous and due to my repeated visits, they remember me whenever I walk through the door. I feel like a real person whenever I'm able to visit. There are few restaurants or establishments that I can say the same about. With regards to the food; I have never eaten a single item from India Palace that wasn't a culinary success, though I have some particular favorites in the Chicken Chili Balti, the Shahi Korma, and the Peshwari Naan. The Chicken Chili Balti, in my honest opinion, is a filling and savory masterpiece that makes the mouth water just in memory of the taste. If you are vegan, vegetarian, or have a dietary need - staff are always willing to make alterations or even switch out milks and creams for coconut and soy options. As if that wasn't enough, the chefs and cooks are always willing to ease up the spice and heat for the more delicate palettes among us. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself with anything, literally, from their menu today.

It's a bit more expensive than Passage to India but it's because they put more meat in one meal than the other restaurant does. Really two people could share one serving if you add extra rice. They're food is also higher quality and they are the nicest people on earth. The restaurant is very beautiful and quiet inside and the service is exquisite. I highly recommend going here for dinner!

Try the Palak Sagg too--doesn't get enough love imo. (All three in my picture) Really though, everything I've tried from here has been amazing. This place is the gem of North Dakota. Don't even get me started on the wonderful owners and staff. THIS PLACE DOESN'T DISAPPOINT. Do yourself a favor and order takeout tonight.

Every aspect of our the meal was exceptional, transporting me as if I were right there in the heart of the kitchen, witnessing the culinary magic unfold. Our selection included a delectable spread - the fragrant garlic naan, the flavorful chicken curry, the sumptuous lamb saag, the perfectly crafted samosas, and the soothing Indian hot tea. The experience was a true culinary journey, leaving an indelible mark on the palate and a lasting memory of a remarkable dining adventure. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

this is my absolute favorite place in fargo now. i ordered over the phone, super easy and quick. when we came in, the man helping us had so much hospitality, it was great. got home, food was still hot and tasted amazing! you get decent sized portions, i couldn’t finish all of it, so now i have leftovers!🤤 thank you guys so much!

Man at the front was one of the most friendly men I have ever met and thats a lot saying I’ve lived in 7 different states. The tea was PHENOMENAL DO TRY!! Food came out in about FIVE MINUTES TOPS. Everything was just amazing!! Will recommend to all my friends and family in all 50 different states and 17 countries. Expect great things!!
