One of the best Chole Bhature in Twin Cities. Except Vegetable Briyani everything was good.

July 14th, 2022 ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ Good place for a quick bite at lunch. I had chicken tandoori. Decent size portion, the chicken was tasty and grilled exactly as I like it. Unfortunately the salad was kinda inedible, consisted mainly of wilted lettuce and some cucumbers. The service is impeccable, the place spotless clean. Very affordable prices.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon for the lunch buffet with my brother-in-law, sister-in-law and her boyfriend, whom happens to have lived in India for a few years during his childhood. Right away, we were greeted by the host, who is a polite older gentleman. He sat us down on the right side of the restaurant and quickly had a waiter bring our waters out. I could see that the restaurant was very elegant. The food options were many as compared to other places I have been to in the Twin Cities. It was neatly laid out and there were many options to choose from. I was more than thrilled, to say the least. Not only did the food look delicious, it tasted quite different from the other restaurants as well. I believe it was more authentic because my sister-in-law's boyfriend said the food reminded him of his years spent in India. I would take this as a compliment. The waiters were also very polite and attentive. After each of us had three plates to sample everything the restaurant had to offer, we were full, but most importantly of all, we were all very satisfied. They truly deserved my tip of over 15%. Overall, I can now be happy to call Taste of India my go-to place for whenever I crave Indian cuisine. Please keep up the great work!!!

I spotted Taste of India as I got off the expressway to go to my hotel and decided to try it. Wanting to try something new, I asked my waiter Binay for his recommendation and I am so glad I did. He recommended the Botti Ka Masala (Lamb) and the chicken soup. The soup was terrific. The chicken was perfect and the broth was rich with flavor and just a hint of spice/heat. Next was the Botti Ka Masala and it was amazing. The lamb was tender and melted in my mouth. Masala "gravy" was rich with a great mix of vegetables. This must be what Indian comfort food is. A perfect recommendation for a chilly Minneapolis December evening. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Our 1st time here. We tried the butter chicken & cheese Naan I believe. It's been a little over a month since we've been here. Beautiful restaurant;very busy on the day we went Good for them! (I think it was Super Bowl Sunday). The butter chicken wasn't quite as flavorful as we wanted, but that's ok!

Good food and service. Got the Aloo Tiki and Madras fish curry. Both items were tasty. However, it was not spicy even though we asked it to be Indian hot. Longer wait time even though restaurant was almost empty. But server was attentive and very polite. Overall, would definitely return. Highly recommend the food, though it is more expensive than some restaurants !

Great food, courteous staff and clean place! It is definitely a go-to place for people looking for Indian restaurant in this area. Well decorated place and spacious seating and I believe my photos would justify that... Food was served considerably faster and hot!

Large menu and tasty food. We ordered one thing spicy but not what they call "Indian spicy" and I think they don't give Americans enough credit. It was barely spicy at all. Still tasty, but I wish it had more kick.

Easy to use website. Descriptive menu. Calling in and order was simple and easy. They had the food ready in less than thirty minutes. I enjoyed trying a few of their vegan options and I will definitely keep going back.

The best Indian food i’ve ever had. I can see why this place has such a good reputation and why it has been in business for so many years. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The decor is detailed and authentic. Even the ceiling tiles look fancy!

Know why this is my favorite Indian cuisine? Well, it was the first India restaurant I think I ever tried, and I loved it right away. Even walking into this place smells amazing with curry and garlic and other aromas triggering my hunger. But then I recently cheated ... I checked out another Indian restaurant to see if it's as good or better than Taste of India. Turns out it was really good, but not better. For some reason the food at Taste of India has more/better flavor. I noticed it especially in the green and red sauces they always serve. I still don't know what they are, but I love them. Plus Taste of India is affordable, which makes it even better. Their menu has so many different dishes ... I've only sampled a few of them. I always seem to order the same things, but I'll continue working my way through everything they have to offer. There is something magical about how they pour water. Not sure if they still do this, but after you sit down, they used to have these amazing pitchers they'd use to pour quenching water. This place is a treat. I look forward to dining there or picking up food. Thanks to Taste of India for introducing me to your cuisine and for being reliability delish. There's naan better!

We had a good first visit and would be happy to dine again when in the area (at which point I can update this review with more details). Great service, though it was a slow night. Breads were good, and the flavor of malai kofta curry was very good.

Welcoming attentive service, friendly staff, and excellent decor. I usually visit their buffet for lunches, and am always pleased by the selection and quality of the dishes. They do a good job of keeping things fresh and clean and labeled for the new to Indian cuisine. I haven't visited many restaurants I like more. The pricing is also very reasonable. Highly recommend for a single lunch visit or family dinner.

Best Indian food in the twin cities. After moving from Toronto, New York, and Beijing and experiencing some of the finest cuisines, I have been looking for an authentic Indian restaurant and the taste of India is the closest I’ve gotten.

Probably the most authentic Indian food I've found in the Twin Cities. Even their "mild" spicy is too much for my 10 year old and his grandma. I'd come here more often if they liked it more. The garlic naan is something we all love!

I am in MN for a family vacation. Happened to find this restaurant close to Costco, where I was buying Nickelodeon passes. Ordered Daal tadka and palak Paneer. Paalak Paneer was awesome. Kids also loved it. I think due to very less customers during our visit someone or the other was checking with us if we need anything. If that is the case all the time I would rate service as excellent.

Delicious food. The service was well enough. Portions are good. The only fault, the dishes weren't spicy enough, even though we asked for spicy dishes.

We have been coming to this restaurant for over 11 years and it is always delicious! Tonight we got the non-vegetarian dinner for two. It was beautifully presented and delicious, so glad we selected it! The people are attentive to their patrons, friendly, and kind. Beautiful atmosphere too. Grateful to have such a wonderful place here in the cities!

Had a hankering for palaak paneer and found this place at 8:45 tonight (they close at 9:00). 🍽️ Ordered my palaak takeout and ten minutes later picked up a most satisfying dinner. The texture was dead-on, and the taste was rich and complex. 🍽️ I instantly liked the guy behind the counter, who expressed gratitude to the local community for helping him stay afloat through the COVID mess. He’s the kind of person who’s easy to support, and I hope people who read this review will do just that.

Delicious expensive lunch, but where's the buffet? Buffets are open all over the country now. Give people disposable gloves and hand sanitizer stations all over. Time to reopen. People can't afford to pay dinner prices at lunch and therefore restaurants like this are a ghost town during lunch hours when this place used to be packed.

The chicken rice soup was fantastic! The prime rib French dip was probably one of the best that I've had. Great overall atmosphere, a little pricey, but after eating, the prices are well justified and reasonable for the quality of the food!

Two of us dined in for dinner on a Sunday. Restaurant was quiet, as we were there quite late. They definitely have a big takeout following, as people streamed in and out to pick up in the short hour we dined. Excellent service, nice atmosphere that feels homey and space was very clean. We ordered palak pakora for appetizer and shared two entrees - Tandoori chicken and chicken Tikka masala, both as spice level Hot. One order each of plain naan and onion naan to accompany. Palak pakora was fantastic. You can tell they're flash fried at high temp so they were perfectly crispy but not oily at all. Cilantro sauce and mango chutney paired very well. My +1 grew up with his father cooking these at home and said they even exceeded his expectations! My favorite entree was the Tandoori chicken. It was impressively flavorful and you could really taste the heat level. It came with broccoli and a bit of cucumber salad, which i really appreciate so I have a healthy crunch in each bite. Tikka masala was also delicious. Lots of delicious sauce and tender juicy chicken. Since it's a dish with yogurt as an ingredient, we said we'll try "Indian hot" spice next time. Whether takeout or dine in, we'll definitely be back - recommend you check it out too!

No buffet on a Saturday afternoon. The menu was very limited, not even a chicken 65. The chicken tikka and soup was good. But the biryani was not well made, too much garam masala and was smushy... the chicken tikka masala had too much tomato sauce in it, the chicken pakora had a stinky oil smell and the chicken in it was hard... Not worth it.. the two stars are for the staff.

Amazing Indian. Authentic. Well developed spices and hardy portions. Also, the ENTIRE staff is there to please. Best customer service in the West End! The breads are always hot and fresh and filled fully! It’s our family favorite! Thanks Taste of India!!

Food servings are more than adequate. My Chicken Kashmiri was tasty. I asked for mild. It was very very mild. Could use some spice. The Naan bread was very good. The Lassi beverage was good. Not great but certainly good. I would eat here again.

Not a bad place. Ordered a lamb curry but I did not think it's lamb. It tasted like sheep. Meat was not tender and for the price, it needed to be a better basmattie rice. The rice the serve is very broken and the cheapest brand from what I can tell. Would recommend they cook the meat to tender and not so stringy or chewy. Upgrade the rice since you are charging premium price.

Do NOT order the dinner for 2 special. No joke: we spent 70 minutes (on a weeknight) waiting for our food. And when it finally came out to us, all but one of the items were bone cold. Not worth the screaming children atmosphere.

Review June 7, 2020: It is okay. The chicken pakoda and chicken soup is very very bad. One would get better chicken soup at chickfila. The chicken pakoda was so hard and so big that I could not even chew it. We ended up throwing it all. Whatever happened to juicy tender chicken. The one star is only for the other north indian food which is better than most places.

Possibly the best Biryani I've ever had, definitely the best in the Twin Cities. A hidden gem, quiet, relaxing, cozy and elegant at the same time, you will not be disappointed! The service was excellent, welcoming, and helpful. They took time and extra care with my onion allergy to make sure I could relax and enjoy their beautiful food. If I could give ten stars here, I would!

😐 Over all experience was okay. Maybe I'm spoiled but I was hoping for the big comfy recliners you see in a lot of theaters these days. They were regular old school movie theater seats which were comfy enough if the person behind wasn't kicking my chair or pulling the back of it to help them stand up...
