Friendly, helpful staff & yummy food. Currently only takeout, but they were helpful as we sat outside at their outdoor seating!

Good ambience, good hospitality, overall a nice dine-in place. Nothing special about food and its not a costly place. We tried Nepali specials, but its mild. Eventhough their menu has Indian cuisines, they doesn't give the authentic taste.

I was walking and suddenly a delicious smell sent me looking for the source. Found Everest Sherpa! Nice atmosphere and really friendly staff. The owner is a real Sherpa with Everest summit experiences. Ordered Sherpa Stew (vegan), it was so good with curry and other spices. Loved it. Loved the Vegan Samosas too. Tibetan Bread was a surprise, fried and slightly sweet with sugar sprinkles on it. (contains milk) Loved it too. This might be especially good at breakfast. Definitely I will come back and try all their vegan dishes.

I LOVE Indian food. Whether it’s north or south, I am a follower. I also take great passion in my own Indian cooking. Basically, I didn’t care for the food here. People were so nice and genuine. Service was great other than their refusal to remove empty plates. That was very unusual. We eventually had a pile but they didn’t seem to care. It might be that I don’t like himilayan food? Lacked full flavor and presentation. Just mediocre at best. So sorry. I loved the pictures though.

I happened to wander into this restaurant a while back, and it's really quite a wonder that I found it randomly because it does feel like it's hidden in plain sight it's so nondescript. Anyway, I'm glad I did wander in because everything I've had here either by myself or with my family has been wonderful. Their fresh-baked/cooked flat bread is so good and makes their delicious curries even better. I like their appetizers, but I find myself just ordering their lentil soup instead of the other appetizers because it's just satisfying, especially on a cold day. When I visit by myself, I order lamb biryani, which, when paired with the lentil soup leaves me quite full and with enough leftovers for another full meal. This place looks a little out of the way, but give it a try.

A hidden gem! As it's a pretty small restaurant in a huge strip mall, it doesn't look like much on the outside, but the inside is colorful and bright with a nice atmosphere! My first visit was great; I had the Basecamp Thukpa and Vegetable Tikka, which were both excellent. The mango lassi here is incredible! Menu is large with lots of vegetarian options. Spice levels are adjustable for most dishes. Staff was nice and prices are fair. I will definitely be coming back soon!

Ordering online was great, food was ready in 20 minutes. Nicely packed, we ate it outside on the picnic table, they offered paper plates and plastic utensils. The picnic table was fantastically clean. The shop owner came out while we were there and swept the pavement, you can tell they care about keeping their space clean.

Delicious food! We came here for lunch and had their lunch special. It’s a very big portion, and all the food is great! The naan is delicious, I liked the chai (not too sweet!) and the spice level is nice, if a bit on the mild side. For the price, it’s an excellent, large lunch that will keep us full for the rest of the day. I’ll definitely be coming back with my friends and family.

Everest Sherpa off Oak Valley serves Nepali and Indian dishes. The flavors are rich and complex. We have takeout at least once a month. When we serve it to guests they are always impressed. They reopen for dine-in April 1st.

I think this is one of the best restaurants in Ann Arbor and a bargain, since $20 or less will get you a large and very tasty meal. Every dish I have tried I would rate at least 4*. My top 5* favorites are: Base camp thukpa, Chicken butayko, Lhasa chow mein and Sherpa stew.

I had read the reviews and expected great things of this restaurant. I’ve eaten at cardamom on Plymouth Road and liked it. However the reviews at the Everest Sherpa restaurant looked even better. So I tried it the other night getting several different entrées. It was my adventure of the week. I’ve eaten Indian food all over the world. My favorite restaurant is in the UK. The food here was OK but basically it all tasted the same and was not particularly outstanding. The service was good, the food was ready on time, it was just that the food was mediocre. I doubt I will try this restaurant again. But some people think it’s wonderful. Given my experience I think it’s OK but not exceptional.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had! The mattar paneer is amazing. Their samosas are absolutely amazing too! Defiantly try the chicken momos, garlic naan, and veggie pakora while here as well. Staff is very friendly! We will absolutely be coming back!!

My go-to for Indian takeout at least 1-2x/month. Chicken biryani, chicken tandoori, chilli chicken, chicken makhani are some all time favorites. It seems obvious their ingredients are fresh and seems what is on their website is accurate, that the food is made-to-order. Good portion sizes, but I have noticed a decrease in portion size recently (likely due to inflation, so it is what it is).

I love the food and variety of dishes available. Spice levels can be customized. I have 4 stars instead of 5 because it is a little pricey. I feel like naan should come with your dish instead of charged separately.

This place is amazing. Not only is the inside filled with so many Everest memorabilia but the food is delicious. I ordered the mango lassi, tikka masala, dal, samosa, naan, and their rice dessert. In the middle of the snow blizzard, they sent someone to my car to bring me my food. Amazing place and staff. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Wonderful restaurant, first time here. 02.21.2020. Some dishes that are awesome here and definitely should be tried: Chicken chilli: a little on the sweeter side than spicy. Does have tomato. Could be little spicier Garlic naan - came as 2 pieces Chicken Polayko - nice dish, so similar to Chicken Tikka but comes with vegetables and also comes with rice Lamb biryani - hyderabadi style Chicken curry - came with good gravy Dal was good The restaurant was super busy tonight, which just shows how good their food is.

We loved the Samosas and the lentil soup for starters! The medium spiced Sherpa stew was too spicy for me. The cauliflower ghobi was delicious and a much better medium for me! We loved the atmosphere and the selection of vegan dishes to choose from. The service was helpful and kind!

This place is really good. I order the fried chicken and steamed momo about once a week. They’re so good that I don’t really stray much, but the Chicken Sherpa Stew is really good as well. Huge portion that lasts me a few days. They have the takeout/curbside system that works great.

We LOVE Everest Sherpa! We were regular dine-in patrons pre-COVID and when we’ve ordered curbside pickup over the past few weeks it has been ready quickly, packaged well, and orders have been correct. The staff are friendly and curbside pickup has been very efficient. The food is consistent and delicious and the portions are generous.

  • 5/5 Josh C. 1 year ago on Google
Really tasty! Ordered online for pick up, was super easy. They have a pretty diverse menu - we got the lamb curry, the chicken thukpa, chicken momos, and samosas. The food tasted good, the lamb was super tender and not too fatty and the thukpa was well-seasoned. Price was ok, size was also just ok, but quality was good! Would definitely eat here again, excited to try more of the menu

Understandably, this restaurant has great reviews! I came here yesterday with my sister and we both loved it so much—the food, the service, and the atmosphere. The service, especially, was amazing; we talked with the head chef about our backgrounds and the great food, we felt extremely welcomed. It was a wonderful experience and the food was great as we ordered butter momos, butter chicken, an aloo curry (potato & cauliflower dish), and garlic naan. We received more spice which was amazing. Will come back again!! :D

Everest Sherpa is awesome! The food, service, and prices are great. The vegetable pakora appetizer is my favorite - and it is only 4.99 for a decent amount of food. For our mains we got traditional lamb curry and chicken makhani. They were both yummy. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and clean. I am fortunate to live so close to this place!

This place is awesome. The flavors were superb. Service was great, the homemade sodas were delicious as well. 10/10 we will be back and often! Shrimp Chili, Chicken Butayko, Mango Ginger Soda, Garlic Naan, Chicken Momo Dumplings, and Lime Basil Soda pictured.

Quite interesting Nepalese Indian restaurant with a culturally fit atmosphere and decorations. Went here with expectation for good momo. It was okay, both vegetarian and chicken. Both would have been better if they were pan-fried. The chicken momo seemed a bit dry at the edges. Thukpa was good in taste! The noodle seemed to be the thin spaghetti noodles. Being used to hand-made noodles, this was a bit of disappointment. Overall, it was reasonable.

  • 4/5 Lydia S. 6 months ago on Google
what a hidden gem! The portions were very fair and also gave a lot of rice. We got Chicken Masala and Chicken Makhani with onion and glarlic naan for take out. It was ready in 15 minutes. Chicken Masala was amazing. It had a kick to it even though we ordered mild but the flavors were so good. Chicken Makhani was more on the creamier/thicker side but wasnt too heavy the flavors were amazing and hit the spot actually. Didnt taste like a typical makni which is why I enjoyed it. The naan tasted good but was on the thicker side and not as airy but still worth getting with your curry! highly recommend.

  • 5/5 Sunny W. 6 months ago on Google
Food was amazing, spiced very well and the sides that come with the dishes were very interesting. Samosas were crispy and flavorful. The servers were folding cloth napkins so we were a little ignored but aside from that, great vibes and authentic food.

Incredible! I just ran into a friend for undergrad here waiting for takeout. And here I was frustrated that it’s taken 40+ minutes for the takeout food to come, and that my wonderful friends who drove me here are going to miss their initiation and party. 50 minutes now. So what’s the lesson? If you eat in and want to have takeout when you leave, order the takeout before the sit down food comes. And sometimes you are waiting for things you don’t even know are out there.

  • 5/5 W D. 3 years ago on Google
We’ve been getting curbside takeout here a lot. They always wear masks and the food is always ready faster than I can get there. They are not stingy with portions so some of their meals will last me 3-4 meals. Others like the tikka masala tend to last for 2 meals. We all like different levels of spice and you can order extra spicy, spicy, medium, or mild so there’s something for everyone. The momos are delicious as are the noodle dishes. Rest of my family likes lamb dishes or really tender chicken in a sauce (various dishes come this way). I try to always remember to tip when restaurants aren’t open inside. If you haven’t tried it, you are missing out!

  • 4/5 Aashish S. 4 years ago on Google
The place gets very busy so do expect to wait in line but the food is good enough for a 20 minute wait. Personally recommend the MoMo and Polayko and would stay clear of their tea and lassi

We were frustrated mostly with their delivery service partner (a warning to other restaurants out there who are at the mercy of delivery services)....but then it was how it was handled by them (not helping make it right) that was a disappointment for a hungry family.

Walked in and walked out since they're only doing take away. Just didn't feel like eating in the car today. Was sort of coarse about it too which affirmed to me I must have made a good choice. Maybe next time, maybe not. First impression wasn't a good look.

Underwhelming. Not sure why it has such good ratings. Food is bellow average for an Indo influenced restaurant. Only nice dish was vegetarian dumplings. But nothing we ate would make us want to try it again. We all love this type of food and were excited to try it. Unfortunately, not something I can recommend.

Great atmosphere and decor! Service was very good, food served quickly. Loved watching expedition videos on the TV while we dined (not intrusive, just there if you are looking around). Some food was delicious, some just ok (or maybe it was just simpler than I'm used to).

Absolutely love my stay here. Restaurant was wonderful and staff was wonderful in the Hotel.

  • 3/5 Diane H. 4 years ago on Google
This was my first time here. I had the chicken polayko and asked for it to be spicy. It was under seasoned and not spicy. It actually didn't have much flavor. My meal also came with dal soup which was okay, not bad and not memorable. My companion had chicken butayko. She asked for medium spice and it was hot compared to my dish and very nicely seasoned. The vegetable pokora was good. The atmosphere is pleasant but I felt a bit packed in. The wait staff left used and no longer needed plates on the table. The tables are small so it felt a tad crowded. So while I probably won't go out of my way to come here again, if I have friends who really want to come here I would accompany them.

When I used to live in Delhi, India - my favorite to go place was Majnuka Tilla - Tibetan refugee colony. I had a favorite "shack" where I ate momos and thukpa. This restaurant's momos are very decent. But Thukpa - I want to cry. Are you kidding me? If I wanted to eat Italian pasta - I would go to an Italian restaurant. Can't imagine they couldn't make homemade noodles for the soup they charge $12. It's a shame, not a soup. Not impressed, and actually, very disappointed.

The lunch buffet is a good value but the food isn't necessarily the best quality. The staff is friendly and the ambience is fun.

  • 5/5 Brian D. 3 years ago on Google
It was our first time ordering from here. We did the curbside pickup, which was really convenient. Our order consisted of the fried Tibetan bread, vegetable pakora, steamed chicken momos, chicken tikka masala, and chicken saag. Each dish was excellent and hot still when I got the order home (~13 min drive). We ordered "hot" for the spice level on the masala and saag. If you are accustomed to and enjoy spicy food, you may want to bump it up to the hottest level (I would normally rate their "hot" level of spice as a medium at most). We will definitely be return customers.

Overrated pricey food! I can’t believe this place has 4.6 rating. The lentil soup and chicken momos were okay hence the 2 stars. The rice was very bland and the meat was terribly undercooked. Undercooked meat can cause serious food poisoning! I will never eat at this place again.
