My husband Anthony and I enjoy traveling and dining out. Today, we dined in at Guru India restaurant and were pleasantly surprised to find this gem! My husband had the curried lamb and I had the chicken biryani. The food was great and exactly what we expected from authentic indian cuisine. Our server Babu was very attentive, informative and pleasant. The restaurant was nicely updated, clean and had a warm, cozy atmosphere . Be sure to try the warm cardamom tea . It's a delight! We will definitely return and highly recommend!

Recently had dinner at Guru with family. We arrived around 6:30 and there was only one other table with patrons so we were seated immediately. Our server wasn’t overly friendly, but was prompt and kept our drinks filled throughout the meal. We enjoyed the lamb saag, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. All came out really fast snd were very good! I had the chicken tikka masala at a level 3 and it had quite a bit of heat, but I like spicy so it was good for me. The others had the saag at a 2, and said it was very mild and could have benefited from a 3. The rice is perfectly cooked and comes out hot as well. The cashier was very friendly and the overall meal was good!

Really great food, friendly and helpful service. Babu our server was great - so kind and hospitable. We are visiting from Washington DC but hope to come back soon!

I was invited to join my family for dinner who are new Indian food lovers, but was my first time trying Indian food. Babu was our server and he took great care of us; very friendly and attentive to our needs. Just after telling him I was afraid to order a full entree of anything with the possibility of wasting it, so I would just try a little bit of what everyone else ordered, he surprised me with a small order of the Chicken Curry - which happens to be one of the restaurants most popular dishes! I appreciate him wanting to share his culture with me and helping me to step out of my comfort zone to try something new! It was an amazing experience and I will definitely be back to get the chicken curry, and probably venture on to try other Indian dishes thanks to this positive experience. I highly recommend this place, not only for the food, but for the outstanding service!!

I have been a long time patron of this restaurant but have mainly ordered door dash. My order is always correct and wonderful. My best friend was in town for a visit so her and I decided to go for dinner. It was my first time dining in and the experience was great. Babu was so attentive and kind. The food was excellent! I am so fortunate that my brother-in -law is first generation Indian American and was the person that opened my eyes to this cuisine. I have had food from his choice of various Indian restaurants that he found good also delicious homemade Indian from his family and this place does not disappoint and stands right up there with the best. I will definitely continue to order food from this awesome establishment!!!!!

This might be my last time ordering from Guru. We ordered carry out for 4 with an entree each and nan, and two drinks. With tip, it was nearly $170. I almost choked when I clicked “submit.” When we got home we discovered that they hadn’t marked any of the dishes, and they all looked so similar we didn’t know which was which. Pretty sure I ate the wrong order. For that much money, you couldn’t mark the disposable containers? I appreciate that they are a small business, but we could have dined at a pretty fancy restaurant for what we paid for Indian carry out.

Calm quiet atmosphere. The food was decent, could have been more flavorful. The service was alright. The check wasn't expected...pricey..then again they don't seem to get many customers.

First time trying Indian cuisine so we decided to come here based on the great reviews. We were not disappointed. Babu was a fantastic server and answered all of our questions. The food was fantastic! We both tried the Vegetarian Thal so we got to experience several dishes. Everything was really tasty. My favorite was the mater paneer. We will definitely be putting this place on our regular rotation!

I’ve never had Indian food, so when my dad wanted to come here for Father’s Day I was hesitant… however, the food was AMAZING! Babu, the Manager, was beyond amazing; super friendly and nice, and made us feel like family. I live in Texas, and he said he lived in Texas for a bit so he gave us some good recommendations on good Indian restaurants down here but honestly, I’d make the drive back to Kentucky to eat at Guru Indian! They will be seeing us again; for sure!

Terrible and disgusting! I went for a Solo dinner and I was very disappointed. The reviews mentioned good service and good food but it was very bad. I have been eating the food for a long time and this is the first time I wanted to walk out. -First, everyone have an attitude, and they were rushing me to order -My server was playing I was his nose and touching food, which was disgusting -Portion is very small, but it is expensive -There was absolutely noticed to my food, and felt like I am eating a canned tomato soup -My bread was almost 6 dollar and it was very burned and greasy disgusting — I Try to explain to the server, he just went and gave me some seasoning to put on the food myself

Tikka Masala, Saag, and Garlic nan we’re excellent. We’ve dined in here and had a lot of takeout from here and enjoyed it every time. Will keep coming back.

We stopped in for lunch today as we passed through the area. We shared two lunch combination specials and everything was outstanding! We talked about the meal and our kind waiter for the remainder of the day. We absolutely loved the Chicken Tikka Masala, Mater Paneer, and the Aloo Choley! Babu was incredibly kind and helpful and made us feel welcomed. We will definitely make a point of stopping again on our next trip!

I’ve been a long time customer. Absolutely love their food. Over the years I have grown disappointed in the rice as they no longer flavor zest or add peas. This was amazing when they did. And the size of chicken pieces have also grown larger and larger making more difficult to eat. Overall love this restaurant and these things won’t keep me away.

This was the first time I had eaten Indian food. The experience was great, I had one of the lamb dishes, and it was absolutely delicious. I would 100 percent recommend this restaurant. I did a pickup order online and ordered the chicken masala with garlic nann and it was soooo good there was enough food for me and my boyfriend and spent $25! The prices are very good for how much food you get will definitely be back to try the chili chicken ❤️

I ordered the chicken makhani but tried many dishes amongst the 7 people at the table and I loved it all. It's the first time I've gone out for Indian in a long time and not been disappointed. Service was excellent, food hot and delicious, on the slightly more expensive side but not prohibitively. We will be back.

Guru used to be so good! Quality has gone down hill. Not absolutely terrible but it’s not the same. We have tried it a few times in the last 2 months and just disappointing. Prices are very high for the entrees as well, considering. Hoping maybe it’ll get better because we really loved it before. Most likely due from the pandemic which is a shame :(. A lot of great restaurants are suffering.

Let me tell you. This place is the best. And if you don't know what to eat, Babu is the man to talk to. Not only was he extremely helpful but he was kind and courteous. He definitely elevated the experience and made my birthday that much more enjoyable. I'm definitely coming back!

We highly recommend a visit to Guru India. From the moment we walked in the door, our server Babu made us feel incredibly welcome. The food arrived fast and every effort was made to ensure it was prepared to our liking. Even our kids appreciated all the unique seasonings and flavors of this cuisine. There is a reason Guru India has been in business for almost two decades. Our community is lucky to have this restaurant and to experience a taste of authentic Northern Indian fare.

Atmosphere was very laid back. Signs said they were short staffed and to be patient, but you would have never known. We were greeted and seated immediately, with a smile. Our food was delivered quickly. Portions were huge. I love that you can chose your spice level. Ours were spot on for our taste. Babu was charming and very personable. He asked our names and made us feel very welcomed. I would definitely make this a regular dining outing if we lived here.

What a welcoming and delicious place to eat! Just wow! Our waiter was beyond kind and gave my boyfriend and I the best service. The food is so so tasty! This is my new favorite Indian restaurant. Goat rogan josh was nice and very creamy. Pieces were soft and properly cooked. Papdi chat was too sweet as tamrind chutney was heavily poured. It missed the spicy (green/pudina) chutney. Overall, very expensive. $24 for a Lamb curry is too costly comapred to any other Indian restaurants. Food might take time as they are undestaffed. Still they manage to be very attentive.

This was the best Indian food I have eaten. Spice levels were perfect and everything was so fresh. The best part of the meal was how attentive the staff was. Babu was fantastic!! He got us more rice without being asked and kept our drinks full. We will be back and I can't wait to try some other dishes.

I am an indian n visited kentucky for a month Had lunch buffet several times here at guru india.it is delicious ... Their chiken tikka masala and garlic was so delicious that i got it packed on my last day of trip and had it at ny...thnks to the customs they allowed me to carry the food. Their Mango lassi is one of the best i have ever had, still searching for the same taste here in india. Staff was so courteous they always treated me like a family , still miss those days ....

Affordable lunch buffet. I usually come here for the buffet at $10 a person. If you have the local Reach magazine, you can find a coupon. They serve a cart for hot food with ten bins and a have a buffet cart for cold foods, including fresh vegetables and dessert. They also serve up to three hot soups for you to choose.

I just enjoy their dishes. I always get fantastic service here. The place is well kept and the workers are always super friendly. Will visit here again.

My favorite Indian spot, probably order carryout 3-4 times a month! My personal fave is the Chili Chicken, spice level 4 with a traditional naan. Staff is always pleasant, food is always fresh & hot. Lunch buffets are available & offer a wide variety of dishes to try.

Lunch buffet is the same every time. Chicken, rice, vegetables and bread is always the same with no changes. They should add a new item for a change. The tables and floors needed cleaned. The table beside us was cleared but not wiped off. Thankfully no one sat at that table for the rest of lunch.

Nice Lunch Buffet. Flavorful, good selection, fresh. Excellent customer service. We arrived for a late lunch about 1:45. (Buffet closes at 2:30) I appreciated that the manager asked if we wanted any thing else off the buffet before they started tearing it down.

I’ve been a customer since 2013 & I was hesitant to rate this place, but lately this place is getting worse by the visit. Food is still pretty good, but their service is awful & since when was the side sauce cost $4.00?? when I questioned why such a small cup cost so much, the lady’s attitude went through the roof! It’s like having a nice car with a bad engine. Not sure if I’ll ever go back again

Nice and clean. Buffet is really good. Service is attentive if you are a man. If you're a woman you will not be addressed. They refilled our waters my husband said thank you the man said your welcome. I said thank you nothing. The same man came for my plate and asked my husband if he was done.I went to pay I handed a different man the check and he addressed my husband. This is not the way we do things. We will not be back.

My Sister and Brother-In-Law go here regularly, and I got invited. I was so happy, but even happier after the experience! Hadn't had Indian food since late 90's. So effectively I was a newbie all over again. Babu was our server. He was super-friendly, fun, easy to talk to, knowledgeable about heat levels, and which dishes may be to my liking based on some basic information. Food was really tasty! I got to try everyone's, and they mine-- Vegetable Pakora, Dal Soup, Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Tikka Misala (Special) Tandoori, and Chicken Biryani. Everything was cooked just right, had the spice levels we wanted, and the portions are large! I'll be having leftovers today for sure. Atmosphere is what I would say is simply "Authentic(?)" The restaurant isn't garishly over decorated, but the decorations present seemed like they may be family decorations that may have been brought from India, & it was pleasant! The restaurant was quiet for us, be we were there at "off hours", around 3PM-ish. Mostly take-out traffic. I would definitely recommend either eating there, or carry out. I would say--Try to eat in. I believe you will enjoy the service. Not only was Babu good, but we had more than one person checking to make sure we loved our food, and checking drinks. I will be going back for sure! Stopped in for dinner tonight and everything was terrific. Our waiter, Babu was friendly and very informative about all the menu items. This was not our first visit at Guru, and we couldn't figure out why we hadn't been there for so long. We will definitely be back again soon. We just love all the flavors of Indian cuisine.

Best dining experience we have had in a long time! Our 13 year old wanted to try Indian food, and this place knocked it out of the park. We were seated right away, with water and service immediately. Babu was just an incredibly nice human being, knowledgeable, and helpful. Our needs were anticipated by the entire crew before we even knew to ask for anything. The food - AMAZING. I don’t usually clean my plate… and I have 2 servings. We will most definitely be back!

Food was great, huge menu selection. Babu was our server and he was amazing.He was always checking up on us making sure everything was alright. Food came out super quick and was delicious. We have some family members who are Indian so we are picky of where we eat, but this was authentic indian. It was our first time so we just got a spice level 1 which was still very good but we could have done a 2 or 3 easy. Portions are pretty big, my husband and I were able to split a meal. Johnathan and Molly will definitely be back!!!
