We have lived here 10 years and this was our first visit to Tandoor, and it won’t be our last! The staff were so welcoming and we received excellent service. The food was amazing, the garlic naan bread, butter chicken, birjani and Madrus curry. The flavors were amazing and the chicken was so tender. To say we were impressed is an understatement and we cannot wait to go back and try other dishes.

One of the places we love to visit when in town. Delicious Indian food with half-price wine on Tuesday nights. The Dal Makhani pair perfectly with the Garlic or regular Naan. Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Vindaloo we're spicy, but delicious. The rice was perfectly seasoned and comes included with any meal (unlimited, within reason). The Tandoori shrimp were okay (reminded me of a sizzling fajita plate from Chili's) and will be a pass in the future. Overall, love this place, but be aware there is a plate split charge if everyone at your table does not order an entree.

This fine Indian restaurant is a delight for people eating a plant based diet. I love the wide variety of dishes in the vegetarian section of the menu that actually are priced cheaper than its meat-containing counterpart. The vegetable malai kofta, paneer butter masala, navratan shahi korma, and paneer korma are among my favorites. The curry dishes come in a large metal bowl, and it's enough for me to always get 3 meals out of this portion size, paired with really good garlic naan. All of the servers I've had are wonderful. The only consistent drawback of the dining experience here is how it seems like I have to wait almost an hour to receive my food, every time I come. Sometimes I do notice that nearby tables which were seated after me, they receive their food before me. I understand that the pandemic causes significant staffing shortages, so I will not reduce the rating at all for that. Despite this, Tandoor is stellar and remains high on my dining-out list.

Absolutely delicious! One of the best meals I have had in a long time. It was a 45 minute wait on a Wednesday night but well worth it. They are also moving to a new space two doors down which will accommodate more dining area and provide an updated space. The Tandoor shrimp was exceptional. It was flavorful and the butter sauce was perfectly balanced with sweet coconut milk. The butter chicken and the vegetarian Samosa was beautiful. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. The waiter (Will) was prompt and quite knowledgeable with offering suggestions to our meal. One word… YUM!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our first visit to Tandoor. Our server Bryce was incredible. The food was stunning, and so fresh. Their specialty cocktails were delicious. This will be a regular spot for us.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so “thankful” for a meal that I have paid for before. It felt like you were eating in this families home. Everyone was super nice and knowledgeable. I got to witness the host who seated us throw the best shade ever at a server who wouldn’t grab his own silverware (families are dysfunctional too!) and the food just wow! We had korma and tandoori chicken. I wish the veggie sampler would’ve had an option that wasn’t fried as it ate kind of heavy. But the sauces of mint and chili brightened up the flavors for sure. What an astounding experience. If you haven’t gone yet or think you don’t like Indian food. You’re wrong. So go !

Wow, mind blown! This is probably the best Indian food in Sarasota I have ever had! I love Indian food and have been eating it since I was a kid. The best I have ever had was actually in China when I lived there years ago. Well, now I can say it is in Sarasota Florida! I still have not quite made it to India though 😉. Regardless if you are from the area and you are looking for places to eat near you, just go here. You will not regret it!

If you love Indian food, this is the restaurant you have to visit, one of the best attention from the staff and an excellent location. The food has a flavor that I am sure you will like, everything we tried was simply delicious. If you are in the area or definitely want to try something new, come and visit this place.

After seeing great reviews for a few months we finally made it to Tandoor Fine Indian Cuisine and oh my goodness what an amazing dinner. We started out with the Bougie Lassi which was mango lassi & coconut rum deliciousness! Our starters were the mixed pakora and the meat samosa which were both fantastic. We had a couple orders of butter, chicken a chicken tikka, and I had the mixed tandoori. Everything was phenomenal! Since moving here in April, we hadn’t been out for Indian food yet, but it’s one of our favorite meals and Tandoor did not disappoint. I am quite sure we will be back soon.

Had an amazing time . Food was delicious. Server was on point . My son demolished his curry chicken . I loves the tandoori shrimp and my wife loooooved the lamb .

Welcomed by the owner as soon as we walked in; they were prompt but took time to explain different dishes and recommend dishes as it was our first experience with Indian cuisine.. we are a family of 6 and love the family style servings so you can share and try everything or keep it to yourself.. it’s also kid friendly and kid approved flavors .. food was 10 out of 10 and you can defiantly tell that it was made with love .. we will defiantly be back

Busy Friday evening,went for dinner here,the crowd were mostly locals,seen just one Indian family dining in, the ambience was nice, service ok, but the food except for the saag chicken was not at all good,the mixed grill lacked seasoning,the chicken madras was something else just like chicken curry,the biryani was like pulao with lots of vegetables and no taste,it could either be pulao or biryani,but not pulao biryani,laccha paratha was not even cooked properly. Not authentic.

I love this place. Their Vin daloo is the best I've ever had, the biriyani was amazingly flavorful and the garlic Naan was just out of this world. The staff and the owner were so nice and polite, can't wait for them to move into the new location and be able ro serve even more people.

Tandoor really cares about delivering stellar service and quality food. My mom has been living here almost 10 years & I suggested Indian because I’m vegan and she doesn’t eat red meat. We go on a Friday around 7p so it was the busy dinner crowd but thankfully a couple was on their way out and we only waited 10-15 minutes. The ambiance really gives the effect that you’re in an authentic Indian restaurant. I felt like I was invited into someone’s personal space, so beautiful. Now let’s talk about the food and drinks. First of all, I am EXTREMELY indecisive when it comes to what I want, especially when there is a whole list of vegetarian/vegan options. I can appreciate the inclusivity which is why I picked Tandoor because I can find something to eat every time I get Indian food. Our waiter Justin was super friendly and helpful with our decision making. For drinks, I had the White Sangria & my mom chose their signature margarita. Justin made our drinks and thank goodness because they were AMAZING!! I’m not a big drinker but it was the perfect amount of sweet, tart, and deliciousness to get the night going. We then ordered the Veg sampler since my mom & I eat differently, she took the paneer and looooooved the samosas(perfect amount of crunch, flavor, & softness inside with the peas and potatoes) and I got to hog all the pakoras because she hates onions. By far the best pakoras I’ve ever had. Typically they’re too soft and fall apart but I liked how they blended the veggies in one. The Aloo Tikki was Yummmmmmmm. I think the sampler is the best way to go, they have a veg option or traditional sampler platter for meat eaters. For the main course, my mom had the butter chicken with naan and she soaked that bread in the sauce so much we thought she was going to drink it up! Hahah it was that good!! I had the Aloo Saag a little spicy and was I impressed. Super rich in flavor, the potatoes were cooked to perfection, and I really liked the spinach to potato ratio because I love spinach. The basmati rice was also perfect, absolutely no complaints there. The kitchen staff must be Michelin stars because everything that came out was the highest level of quality!! We also had the owners come over at different times, I believe the mom and her son, to ask about our service and how everything was going. Not only was Justin, our waiter, very attentive and checking on us not too much, but just the right amount, the owners coming over really made us feel special and you can tell they are passionate and believe in this restaurant being successful. My mom said she is coming back with my dad in the future. THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO!

I have been frequenting this restaurant for the last 3 years & the food is simply wonderful. The owner, her family, and all staff are wonderful. There is always a welcoming face to greet you and they treat their customers like family. If the food wasn't enough to keep me coming back (And it is. IT IS) the atmosphere definitely would. I absolutely love it.

Awesome food. The best Indian food I've ever had at an Indian restaurant. The ingredients were very fresh. And when I asked for Indian-hot, they did not disappoint. The manager continuously checked on the customers to make sure that we were happy. I highly recommend it! Great place connveniently located right in the middle of a fun outdoor shopping mall. #DRDERISE

Love love love....food excellent.....servers very nice

From the time we entered the aroma was amazing. Then we ordered our dinners and absolutely loved the food. We had chicken and lamb along with two vegetable sides. Everything was delicious and our leftovers were devoured later the same evening. Staff was friendly, courteous and the restaurant manager walked around chatting with customers.

Pretty great place. Solid 4 stars, perhaps five. Prices are a bit high, but that's expected with the quality of food they serve! Tandoor was as HOT as the menu implied; I regret nothing.

Buffet was good and at a decent price 12/person at the time and the staff was attentative.

The food is always amazing and the owners are so friendly. We drive all the way from St Pete to eat here and are never disappointed. There's so many vegan options. My favorites are the aloo Gobi, saag and daal.

I ordered Chicken Biryani yesterday ..omg the chef doesn't know what Biryani is .. I mean what was it?? Just vegetable rice with pieces of chicken that too tasteless . I was highly disappointed :(

Place was clean and reasonably busy during dinner time. Warmly welcomed and server was attentive and had good knowledge of menu item. It is bit overpriced when compared to similar places. Appetizer was average. Chole tiki was pretty bland. Veg. kofta and Baingan Bharta was delicious. However, disappointed with kadai Paneer as it had about two tomatoes cut into pieces. that is very unusual for that curry. Naan was crispy as requested. Very unusual portion of rice. Had received only one rice with three main course. I am not sure why they were such a stingy about it. 3* for them being very stingy for the rice

Average taste. Like fast food. Tikka Masada was chunky , veggie not cooked well, and not creamy. Foor taste more Mexican than Indian. Service was really bad. Don't think I will be back

This place is so amazing, great service and the food never disappoints. We sat at the bar because they were so busy. Tony took a great care of us. I love everything about this place. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

When it comes to Indian food there is no better place. Tandoor is the BEST in Florida. From them level of service to food quality. Top notch. I eat out multiple times a week and frequent Tandoor at least 3 times a week for either lunch or dinner. Tony and the staff are great! I feel like family here. I typically order the same items. Tandoori chicken and garlic naan. The naan is made fresh to order in the clay oven. It is all excellent! Their chefs are truly talented. There is a reason there is a wait! Pro tip: call ahead to get your name on the list if you don’t have patience to wait. When I see a line I think 2 things… the food is 1) fresh and 2) delicious. One of my favorite restaurants in Florida.

Absolutely incredible food and experience. The staff is super friendly and helpful when explaining what some of the unique menu items are, as well as how they’re prepared. I highly recommend the butter chicken if you don’t know what to get - it’s a staple and so so good! Everyone that we went with loved the different items we each got!

If you're looking for great plant based options, this restaurant has them. We ordered the Chana Masala, Chana Saag & the Dal Tadka. I can't decide which one was more delicious. Perfect blend of spices. And the service was excellent. Our server Lydia was very attentive & sweet.

Food taste is good but not at the level of authentic Indian food for the dishes we had. Food taste is tailored towards international cuisine overall it is good.

So glad we decided to pop in on our way home! Truthfully has to be the best food we have had in a very long time. Was skeptical about the buffet at first, but so glad we decided to go with it. It was really nice being able to try so many delicious plates! The owner was so sweet and you can tell she really cares about her food. Our server was amazing and very educational and knowledgeable when we had questions. Great beer recommendations too!

I ordered take out on July 24 2020. Tandoor chicken, sag paneer and two different kinds of samosa..the food was delicious , the delivery through grub hub was quick. I requested for my chicken to just be thighs no drumsticks they did that ..everything was very tasty and great as usual...I gave the rating a 4 only because I got 6 small thighs for 24 dollars which was supposed to be a full chicken portion.....

Spice Tea was good but very hot. Which were $3.50 each. Not worth it. Mirka was our waitress very nice & explained all the dishes. She did forget our water but brought them right away when I reminded her. We got the $13 lunch specials ($3 more for Lamb) you choose 1 meat item & 2 vegetables items. So we got 4 different veggies dishes to share. Everything comes in its own little dish. Most were heat hot but a couple were just loop warm. Spice was just right not to hot. Overall very enjoyable.

Tandoor is by far the best Indian food in Sarasota. Even though they have stopped doing the buffet at lunch because of COVID, they are doing an excellent lunch special that allows you to get an assortment of dishes for one low price. The owner is so friendly and I encourage you all to support this local business during these tough times!

Authentic Indian food close to Lakewood Ranch.

I ordered take out from here yesterday night since I was craving some good Indian food. This place really had good authentic flavor and a fair amount of food. The appetizer sampler was excellent. I’m from NJ where Indian food is the best.. this place is very comparable.

Very good food and nice people

On 6/19/2020, I came to visit a friend who lives in Bradenton. My son & I came all the way from Kentucky. I grew up eating Indian food so I’m a tad picky. I know what’s good and what’s mediocre. I ordered veggie samosas and extra spicy chicken vindaloo. They didn’t disappoint. It has rich flavor and my picky teenager was extremely satisfied with his chicken tikka masala. I highly recommend this restaurant. Next time I come to visit, I will definitely be back!!!

Best Indian in the area. Recently they have had a better amount of protein in the chicken corma and lamb vindaloo! Great food also love the chili naan!

We have never been to a INDIAN restaurant where you can't share a curry. Here if you do, there is an extra 2.95 charge!!! Wanted to talk to manager but manager will not come out. Heard cook saying let them go!! ALso, this is on top of raising prices by one to two dollars due to COVD!! WIll never come back to this place. Quite a rip-off.

Very good food, atmosphere and value. The service is excellent!! The butter chicken is a must have and not that spicy, the orange chicken is also very good but definitely had more of a kick to it. The rice is on point as is the salad and pudding for dessert.

Food was quite good. We enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Masala at the Medium spice level (although we could have done without the peppers and onions). I would have liked to see better mask usage; one waiter was wearing his mask below the nose and someone else (the owner?) was not wearing one at all. At a time when FL coronavirus cases are skyrocketing, it's really important that you wear them properly.

I have ordered the chicken tikka masala on multiple occasions, requesting for the chef to make it as spicy as they could, and it has been wonderful.

Excellent excellent chicken biryani. Chef actually made it crazy hottt like I like it. Chicken was so tender and added some veggies which is a nice touch. Samosas were good as well. Clean place too which is always a plus!

I call this excellent place from time to time as I love the good air that is outline this place. The staff is extraordianrillyremarkably friendly and experienced. The service is impressively rapid. Most important, the food they cook is great. I ate there often and I was always delighted. The pay is honest. I recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

This restaurant is everything and more! Excellent food with superb customer service. I would highly recommend this restaurant even if you are not a huge fan of spices. The tikka masala and korma chicken are my two favorites.
