This is a North Indian restaurant, punjabi style food taste. Food was well prepared to our taste of hotness. Like the appetizers which were a good soze.. instead of buffet they have made menu more interesting by including appetizers and dessert part of it for the same price. We enjoyed the ambiance, decor was, service and food. Free parking was good also.

My absolute favorite! The weekday lunch deal here is incredible. It comes with a soup or salad, a side, rice, naan, the main dish of your choice, and a dessert. Service is always great. Everyone is so pleasant. We've been here many times and have always had a wonderful experience. The parking lot is small/tight, so sometimes parking can be a bit tricky.

Food was amazing. Saag was mouth watering. Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends. They did offer dessert as a compliment. Clean restroom. Parking next door for free. Prices are different for lunch and dinner. Prices are low compared to other indian restaurants but flavourful.

My dining experience started in the parking lot. The wonderful aroma of an array of spices lingers outside the building. The customer service was outstanding. The rice and salad accompanying the entree is amazing. My main dish, the chicken tikka platter, was cooked to perfection. I plan to visit again. Great prices!

This was the BEST Indian food my husband and I have ever eaten, hands down. The wait staff were so friendly and the dining area is clean and decorated so lovely. We are not easily impressed with most places we try-usually a "yeah that's pretty good", but we couldn't stop raving about our dishes. We both agreed we need to come back here very soon before we were even boxing up our leftovers. Highly recommend, especially the Chicken Madras (medium-hot heat level). Mouth watering perfection!

My fiancé introduced me to this place while we were dating and it became a regular lunch spot for us. We recently went for dinner and boyyyyy it was flavorful, delicious and so much food. The atmosphere alone is a sight to see. They have the best Jhalfrazie I’ve ever had. I had the goat option and it was to die for. So tinder, so much meat, it was just perfect.

One of my first jobs as a teenager was working at an Indian restaurant. Dishwashed with the cooks, and got my first taste of Indian food… I can’t speak to authenticity, but I flashed back to those good memories. Food is out of this world… best samosa I have ever had! The garlic mama is as incredible. Looking forward to the $3 happy hour 😎

Very good place to eat. The mango lamb curry was interestingly good. That was the cuisine of the day...everything mango. Service was good and the place was clean. The tandoori platter I could do without though, because the chicken pieces were too small

I love lemon SO much! Never ever had a bad vegetarian meal- food is so consistently good and the staff is super friendly. Takeout is always delish- there’s also off street parking and it’s spacious and warm inside.

Must try Indian restaurant in Richmond.. their lunch entrees are really good.. we had their popular Chicken tikka masala and lamb Rohan Josh for lunch today.. we ordered with spice level as Hot.. we are used to spicy food but it was really spicy for us :) so I can’t imagine having their Indian hot level.. I would recommend ordering medium spicy.. both gravy items were really tasty and thick consistency.. u can see it in the pics.. for lunch they served coconut milk with lemon soup .. it was tasty but we felt the portion was more for a single person.. entrees come with complementary rice and a Naan .. quantity and quality of the food is really good for the price they charge.. overall we had great food and good service.. We had one minor issue though.. both lamb and chicken was little tough .. May be a bit overcooked.. hope they can correct it.. Looking forward to try out other options in their menu..

Ordered delivery through Uber Eats. Overall, it was tasty, filling, and appropriately spiced to my preference. Highly recommend adding on raita and naan to balance it all out. Lasooni Ghobi was flavorful, albeit on the sweeter side compared to what I've had from Indian restaurants in Short Pump. It also had a decent amount of spicy heat to match the sweetness. Watch out for the bones in the Lamb Sabji; that said the bones give it a brothy richness. It was a comforting dish. I'm not sure what the little green sauce was supposed to go with, but it tasted fantastic and fresh in between bites of each dish. Because I'm the weak sauce with spice/heat, I ordered mild and it was still spicy but not overly so-- just right! 🙂 Based on my experience and other reviews, I'd would err on the side of caution with heat-- sounds like they can do super hot! 🔥

Ok, the spices here are exactly how you want your Indian food and desserts to be. Every dish I have had here so far (3rd visit tonight) has been flavorful and fresh. The picture is the pistachio kulfi (Indian ice cream) and the cardamom flavor in there pops in your mouth within the perfect texture of the kulfi.

One of the best indian restaurants I've ever been to. Grear service. They have quite a few made up non-traditional dishes, such as their 'tandoori' chicken - which to them apparently just means burning 2 pieces of chicken and 5 vegetables and charging way too much for it. Expect to pay way more than you think the meal is worth generally, especially as Indian meals are so cheap to make. Still, the flavors of most of their dishes and friendly atmosphere make up for it quite a bit. Don't order their make believe tandoori though. Still haven't quite found an authentic tandoori in the U.S. but this is one of the worst examples.

Oh My God! This was soooo authentic that their mild is hot!!! Love them! How have I missed them looking for Indian Cuisine??? The spices are amazing! I’m gonna time my time and try different dishes! The Biryani’s of all kind gotta be the best since I had the Lemon’s Special (all of it Biryani!!! I’m just sooo happy to find an Indian Restaurant that I can walk into and smell every dish! Heavenly!!! Authentic!!! You#In#India!

Very authentic Indian food. Good portion size. Our order included Chicken 65, chicken chettinadu and Shahi paneer. Chicken65 didn't look anything like 65 but tastes good. Our order came with with 1 butter Naan, some corn dish and lentil soup included which wasn't clear in the menu. And in the end to our surprise chocolate ice cream was also included. So order accordingly. Also, lentil soup is basically daal.

I had ordered butter chicken, chicken tikka Marsala, and curry chicken for pickup. The food was not labeled and very bland. There were two dishes that had taste the same and was very watery and barely any meat in the dishes. The garlic naan was okay… For the amount of money I spent I’m very disappointed. Wish I could get a refund.

Lemon Cuisine of India in Richmond, VA, is simply outstanding! The host was incredibly nice, and the food was delicious with ample portions. The spice level was perfect, allowing the flavors to shine through. The ambiance was pleasant, and the staff were attentive. From aromatic biryanis to flavorful curries, every bite was a culinary delight. If you're in Richmond and craving authentic Indian cuisine, Lemon Cuisine of India is a must-visit. Highly recommended for an exceptional Indian dining experience.

Arrived with a large group at 7:30 PM Saturday night, we had called ahead for a reservation. We were a party of 12. After being seated, it took 1 1/2 hours to place our food and drink order. Food finally came out at about 9:25 PM, two hours after we arrived. The service staff and kitchen were clearly unprepared to handle the business. NEVER go here, unless you hate every other Indian place in town. Bring a 2000 piece puzzle to work on while you wait.

Service wasn’t bad although they were a bit confused with our orders a few times! They are super proactive on filling waters and gave a good amount of complimentary naan! The mango lassi is what i always get and I also ordered the chicken tikka masala, I recommend this for a lunch place! They got busy pretty quick, the atmosphere was not bad either! We got a choice of soup or salad with our dish as well as dessert at the end!

Placed an order with Lemon and they forgot our appetizer, but the worst part was that an item I ordered from the menu stated "Gluten-Free" and when I received it the item was coated in bread. Couldn't eat my dinner since I have Celiac. I called to discuss this and ask for a refund but they denied what their menu states. So frustrating.

Mixed feelings leaving this review. I have eaten here a lot recently, but unfortunately most of my to-go orders have been wrong. I just got home with tonight's order, and the naan is CLEARLY someone else's that was put back in the kitchen 'fridge. I ordered regular naan, which they usually serve as four sizeable pieces. What I got was two tiny pieces of garlic naan, smushed together in tin foil, one piece was hot, the other ice cold. Having ordered their kofta before a lot too, I can tell tonight's isn't fresh and has been in this storage container for days, based on the saturation level of the kofta balls, and the sauce itself is days thick. They were in a super big rush when I picked it up, and I could tell they weren't paying attention to much as far as quality control goes, so I'm not surprised to be writing this review with cold food in front of me. Normally, I love this place. But you're slipping, Lemon!

On our way to Maryland, stopped over at Richmond to have lunch. Saw amazing reviews of Lemon and decided to give it a try. Ambience and staff was nice. Loved the upbeat Punjabi songs. Food sadly was not up to the mark. We had soup of the day - coconut soup which could have been amazing if prepared fresh, it tasted old. Tandoori platter was also a big disappointment. The chicken peices and the gravy were a mismatch and had no taste. Our naan, paneer makhni and okra side was good. We also enjoyed the Mango lassi and our dessert - gulab jamun. We got an upset stomach, soup being the culprit. Might not try stopping by again.

I picked up a takeout order last Sunday. When I got back home, one item we ordered and were charged for was not in the bag. We didn't call them about it because I was not about to go back a second time. Food was great, but not so happy about feeling the need to pull everything out before leaving with a takeout order.

The food use to taste way better must be a new chife how just ruching not cooking the food all the way also it has hair in my food. I also seeing a huge rat running and a bugs on my tapel. Doing this pandemic we should at least focused on cleaning but I don't know what hack those guys are doing. Thank you but no thanks. The health department need to check this place out.

Lemon cuisine needs to pay attention to social distancing guidelines. NO employees wear masks and half the people waiting in its crowded waiting room are without masks and gloves. The place serves decent, pedestrian US-style Indian food. It is not worth it to me to feel uncomfortable and endangered in this careless restaurant. No more.

Overcharged me.... ok I’m forgiving. I came back a few days later hoping he would be nicer. No. Just ignored me and proceeded to take to go orders on the phone. Keep in mind I’m literally sitting in front of him the only customer present in the store. I just got up and left. Disrespectful, greedy, and complete lack of morals. A full grown man child at that. Never coming back. As warren buffet says reputation is built in 20 years and ruined in 5 minutes

called several times today, Saturday after 5pm. Went to voice mail 5X & when i finally got through, the guy hung up on me. I would order online except, are they actually open? Their website says they are open. Such a shame, so many great reviews, but there is no one available to pick up the phone & help you out during COVID. Oh well, on to the next place!

  • 5/5 Ben R. 4 years ago on Google
They are open for take-out during the covid19 shutdown. Ordered a bunch of dishes there yesterday, to stock up for a while, and everything was fantastic. I wasn't sure they were open because they don't seem to be answering the phones, but I ordered online and everything worked flawlessly. The food was ready when I arrived, arranged for easy pick-up with physical distance between orders, and the employees were all wearing masks. Highly recommended as a covid19 take-out option.

I got their malai kebab and it’s incredibly delicious. Their garlic naan is second to none as well. I ordinarily like spicy food and know Indian food to be spicy and yet their “spicy” option definitely had the flavor but none of the spice I expected. I’ll leave my reservations for when I try their Indian spice level next. Delicious regardless

Went with some friends after everything else close by had very long waits. This place had no wait. The food was decent and the price was reasonable but they didn't seem to know how to split a check for our group. The music was also very loud at times and didn't fit with the general theme of the restaurant. I wouldn't recommend for groups bigger than 3 or 4.

Don't order from this restaurant through Eatstreet. Don't know where the hang up was, but it took an hour and a half after the estimated time and then we were missing an item and the sauces that came on the side. The food that we got was okay. The Chicken Massala was mediocre at best. The flavor of the sauce was okay, but the chicken had clearly been cooked separate and then added to the sauce.

Well kept and clean. Plenty of off street parking. The staff has been repeatedly cheerful and kind, even 20 minutes before closing. The facility can accommodate about 80 people and they will host private events. The food was cooked perfectly and served promptly. I highly recommend and will continue to patronize this establishment.

I am a professional chef and restaurant owner so this review is done by someone who does not give good reviews lightly. From the moment we walked in we were pleasantly greeted by the aroma of freshly toasted spices and warm "Hellos" from the smiling staff. I knew it was going to be good, but I had no idea. The staff was attentive and the speed at which our food came out was astounding. Me and my chef ate enough apps and entrees for 6 people and after our first two I stopped taking pictures as I fell in love with each bite more and more. The chef is telling me a story through this food and I was captivated by his art. The flavors were pronounced yet delicate. The composition was complete and palate pleasing. The spices were fresh and absolutely perfectly balanced. There was heat, crunch, sweet, and sour in all of the right places. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

  • 5/5 Ben S. 3 years ago on Google
Wow! Lunch was so affordable. The lunch included naan, rice, soup or salad, hot side of vegetable with sauce of the day and the entree of your choice. Wanting to try something out of the ordinary, we chose the Lemon among other Indian cuisine restaurants for their success in being recognized as Richmond's best over the past few years. Beside service being a little slow, the recommendations from our waiter was totally on point! We went w the Butter Chicken & Rogan Josh w huge bowls of Basmati jeera rice. Both dishes were savory, containing ample meats soaked in tasty curry sauces, then served over a bed of light fluffy rice. We were well satisfied w our meals and dining experience at Lemon Cuisine of India.

Fabulous! Found this in a random search after landing at the airport. We will come back for sure! The flavors were incredible! We both had shrimp dishes, cooked to perfection. One of the only times I didn't take photographs of our food. Interior of the building was beautifully decorated!

Veg and non-veg starters are really good. Main dishes are okay.. Briyani was bad, looked and tasted like a gravy mixed with rice.

Delicious. Wait time was long but hey its the weekend. Ordered Butter Chiken, Chicken Bhiryani, Tandoori Plate, Kheer, and Garlic Naan. All Delicious. All in all no complaints with the food. Wait time is ridiculous and servers were short staffed

It was an amazing experience. From the drinks to all the dessert items were amazing. The portions are small but the taste was amazing. The service is also great. I'm not sure if it's a Michelin star restaurant or not, for the food it should be but not for service. I ordered drinks from the waiter but he didn't show up later, the bartender searched the whole Restaurant where to give them, I asked him if they are for my table. But the food was amazingly great. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

We stopped at the restaurant on our way to Washington DC. Absolutely LOVED the food! Every entree included a complimentary soup / salad. They also gave us complimentary dessert at the end. Excellent value for the price. The staff was super super friendly. My mom was fasting and they specially made food for her that wasn’t even on the menu! Highly recommend this place.

Food was excellent (vegetarian), but the wait time was about an hour and half. We went in at 8:20 pm and our food was served only around 10 pm. Maybe because it was graduation day and they were not prepared for a crowd. Only two people to serve.. at least they were polite and apologetic. Hope they are more prepared in future for such special days in their community. As it's good business for them.

Food is really awesome , well worth the money. Appetizers esp fish fry is cooked to perfection. We went as a group and tried both non veg and vegetarian dishes , all tasted equally good . Complimentary salad and dessert are added bonus .

Our order took long (they seemed to be very busy with takeout) but they gave us a complementary dessert to make up for it. Great food with several vegan and gluten free options (ask for the takeout menu which lists the Vegan and GF options). Staff was really friendly

Tasty food, good vibes, and very friendly/helpful servers. Got the lunch special (chicken tikka masala and lamb saag) and it was a great deal - included a salad, the main (with rice), a side, and a small dessert. Also got the garlic naan which was a hefty size and maybe the best I've ever had. All came out to about $36. Wonderful experience!
