Ordered takeaway from here many times over the past 2 years and it's always been incredible. Really fresh, hot & tasty. Visited the restaurant twice and found it disappointing 😞 PROS: ● Service was fast (except the bill) ● Food was delicious and enough food for 2 to share ● Fully vegetarian and vegan CONS: ● Awful smell at the entrance (I'm sure it's incense but it smells like urine) ● Very expensive! It was delicious but I don't think it was worth that cost. ● Tip is automatically added and mandatory which was nearly £8 (i understand that for bigger parties but that's more than I would usually tip for the 2 of us) ● There was always at least 2 waiters hovering about which made things uncomfortable. If you accidently looked at them, they came over to our table. It was a bit awkward to talk as it was so quiet in the restaurant and hardly any other guests. ● Food was served very quickly but the bill took forever! I had to ask a couple of times for it and then wait even longer for the card reader. They then kept asking if we wanted more drinks even though I'd already asked for the bill 😒 That put a downer on the whole meal

Inflated prices, questionable service, mediocre food. We dined here in a group which included a Gujurati who was keen to taste the cuisine. We chose the taster menu and we have eaten in a wide range of restaurants including Michelin Starred ones in the local area so are aware of what the service and food quality should be at this price point. For example, £55 per head is the price of Michelin Starred Home in Leeds so Prashad should be broadly in line with that. Not even close... The amuse bouche was so hot in spice that only one of us managed it despite all of us having a reasonable tolerance to spice. Service was sporadic. Sometimes courses came smoothly then at one point there was 15m between them. 7 courses keep in mind. Hard to order drinks and the waiters lacked in confidence if you asked them about what they were serving. There was a comedy moment when we were presented with an uncorked bottle of wine. The delays got really long and only one guy appeared to be serving. I went to the loo and the lack of service was due to all the other staff cleaning... whilst customers were still in the restaurant. One course we all left uneaten. The waiter was uninterested by this. We offered feedback at the end. The waiter was uninterested by this. The bill was over £250. They may mention Gordon Ramsey. That was a long while ago now. My Gujurati companion recognised none of the dishes from his homeland. Take your money and eat elsewhere. This would be worth a visit at about one third of the price if you were passing. Otherwise there is nothing at all remarkable about this venue other than it is VERY EXPENSIVE. Also keep in mind it is vegetarian. Vegetables are not expensive ingredients. Ps There is not plenty of free parking-there is a small and very tight car park with an overflow on a different location.

Absolutely amazing night on Friday. Me and my boyfriend went for the first time, all the staff were lovely and very polite. We asked our waiter to pick our mains for us and they were brilliant. I would highly recommend the taster starter. The mango beer is delightful too. 😊 thank you so much..

Basically the best food I've had in the last 2 years. Smallish menu but what they serve is beyond tasty. The Channa chole is just *kisses fingertips*. Also, pretty decent cocktail selection! Best get your booking in.

Lovely restaurant, highly recommend it. The staff were attentive, I don’t believe I saw one member looking around the room without at least asking one or two tables if they were enjoying their meal. The food was flavoursome and the presentation was really pleasant - quick service too. Thank you Prashad team, we will be back!

Travelled an hour to dine here for a special occasion. Parking was very busy (and small) and we had to go over to the overflow which isn’t ideal. Still, only a minor issue. We were shown to a lovely table upstairs where the service was excellent. Food was delicious and we thought it was pretty good value for speciality dishes. Efficient but definitely not rushed. We loved it.

Quite good but not quite Michelin star-level (which I believe the chef is aspiring for). Mixed platter to start is very good - mostly deep fried but great flavour. Be warned - it's big. Mains represent the restaurant fairly - they are a step above 'typical' curry houses (very flavourful) but still need something extra to be considered extra special. I'd also ask yourself if the tasting menu is what you want - we went a la carte and felt we didn't miss out compared to the table next to us and probably paid half as much.

Prashad is everything other curry restaurants want to be. Michelin starred, gracious, helpful staff, superb food, excellent atmosphere. Luckily it's 70 miles from where I live otherwise I'd be there all the time and a bit skint ( I've not said it was cheap have I?). It's a reminder that curry can be subtle, not swimming in oil and marvelous. Thanks Prashad

The hype it deserves!! For authentic Indian food, Prashad is the one. We had a great experience right from reserving the table to leaving the restaurant after a scrumptious meal. We chose the Maharani Thali. Each of us got a different thali which gave us an opportunity to taste more food. All the dishes got its own flavour to it. Really enjoyed our time. The staff were very courteous and explained the whole dishes. Highly recommended.

As a vegetarian It was so nice to eat at a place where I didn't have to worry. We had the couples tasting menu which was very reasonably priced and gave us the option to try many dishes. The food was outstanding. Plentiful and full of flavour. The signature cocktails are a must have and the service was awesome and knowledgeable. Envy the people who live locally. Will definitely come back again when staying near by. We prebooked as we didn't want to miss out while in the area. There is a big car park and overflow. If you have mobility issues make it known in advance as the majority of seating is accessible only via stairs. Hats of to the chefs and staff, especially Sam.

Prashad was truly a memorable experience! The amuse-bouche was outstanding; a bold and decadent introduction to Chef’s skill in blending textures and flavors. The entrees that followed were equally phenomenal. If you have the opportunity to dine at this wonderful establishment, don’t pass it up.

Gujrati food done well but at a high cost. I’m not a fan of gujrati food, but Prasad does it really well. We ordered Thalis, at first we felt it looks small but it is also very filling. So the food must be really heavy. Then they charge you 10% service charge, which we declined. Not because the service was bad but because the food was over priced. I feel like I’ve over paid and pricing system doesn’t make sense, we paid more for a single Diet Coke than a starter. I don’t know. It was nice, personally I wouldn’t come again.

Delicious food, when I read some of the more negative reviews I was nervous, but my food was extremely tasty and I guess everyone has their own subjective tastes. I am Punjabi and I really enjoyed the food, if you have a traditional punjabi taste pallet you will like the food, just the right amount of spice! With wonderful service as well, while it is a little pricey it makes sense with the quality of food I was served.

Absolutely the best! Iv never had such refined and considered Indian food in my life. I’m not vegetarian nor am I vegan but still Prashad presents you with food that renders that completely obsolete. The spice is right, there is a harmony and balance of taste within the dishes. It’s not my first time here, neither my second and certainly not my last. If you are a loyal fan of the Indian kitchen and you want to do something good for yourself and the kind staff at Prashad, then just go. Couldn’t recommend a place more highly, enjoy!

Saw this restaurant on a t.v. programme so decided to drive up, meet with daughter and hubby and try it out. Lovely night, we all went for the taster menu and no disappointments. Great taste experience, will want to return and work our way through the menu (it's a shame they don't have rooms). It is clearly a very popular venue as it was really busy, so worth booking.

Nice and cosy atmosphere with classical music. Me and my friends got a warm welcome and also received a welcome starter from the chef. The staff were polite and professional. We ordered simple dishes, and no doubt the presentation was excellent but the taste was not what we expected. Although we asked for Asian-style medium-spicy, still it lacks the Indian taste and a little expensive. But it was a nice experience.

Wonderful food and excellent service. Waiter was happy to explain what each dish was and the portion sizes. Disabled parking and toilet available accessibly as well as baby changing facilities. Very pleased with this and will come back. Although it is quite expensive.

Although they might not have won The Best Restaurant title by Gordon Ramsay but still they're the Winner as it's 100% Vegetarian Restaurant and reaching Finals itself is a very big accomplishment. As we all know there are very less people who are vegans or vegetarians and it's a very big thing to impress Non-Vegetarians with 100% Veg Food.

Quite honestly the best meal I've ever had. Lost for words as to how incredible it was and how much we loved the evening. We had the vegan fixed menu and not only was it more than filling but each dish was just as delicious. Incredibley reasonably priced given the quality and level of service. We came for a celebration and will 100% be back many times to come.

This was our first and definitely not our last visit to Prashad. We opted for the Set menu for two - as my husband has an allergy to courgette and aubergine - as it seemed to have a great variety of food. Every mouthful was a delight. So many new and interesting flavours. Recently we’ve felt obligated to not mention his allergies as restaurants stop you eating all sorts of food but here we did mention it when unsure of ingredients and one serving contained aubergine so I had that and he was given a replacement. Brilliant. Excellent service from Mohammed and Millie. This is a great place for couples or groups. The place was clean, well designed - not flashy - but there was a real feel of local ingredients being used with images of local or historical scenes from India and West Yorkshire.

A nice restaurant, with lovely decor and good food. The menu had a great selection of dishes to suit all palettes. While the food was delicious, a few of the dishes needed refinement (e.g the chole needed cooking for longer, the rotis felt like they werent made fresh). Good food but not yet michelin level. The service was somewhat slow, with plates from previous courses left on the table for a while.

Went to Prashads with my wife on out 15th wedding anniversary, was very very disappointed and disheartened with the food and service. We ordered a taster platter, it was oily food that was tasteless, for the main the paneer was disgusting I had one mouthful and left it, the naan looked like a garlic bread from the local pizza shop cut into 4 quarters not nice at all, the masala dosa was oily and bland. When the waiter gave us the bill for £54 he did not even ask why the food was not eaten, more concerned about £££, never again, for me it’s not about the money, it’s about good quality food, and unfortunately prashads no longer has good quality traditional Indian cuisine.

Lovely venue and nice staff. However, overall I was a bit disappointed. Food was tasty and well presented but there was something lacking in the 7-course meal that I can't say it was £70+ well spent. Sad because we were looking forward to Indian fine dining! Remember eating at the old venue about 8/9 years ago and the Thali was so amazing. Maybe we should have just ordered à la carte!

Not disappointed! Saturday lunch was served upstairs - warning for mobility issues!! Food was just devine. Fresh patra with cumin’d beetroot purée was a great opener. We devoured the huge dosa and the Thali plate. They were good with gluten-free options. Unique chutneys for popadoms. My first time for dessert Shrikand on Thali. All flavours were amazing and on-point. Mocktail and salted lassi hit the spot. Once it got going, service with excellent food knowledge was good although only one server for one good-sized busy room. Small car park but overflow at The Spotted Cow a very short stroll away which worked out fine as we waddled back to the car! Overall a fantastic meal and not expensive.

Stunning food. We opted for the 7 course tasting menu as we wanted to try lots of dishes. We're both meat eaters, yet we never felt any of the dishes needed meat. My two favourite dishes were the cold chaat, I can't stand chickpeas yet I hoovered these up, totally delicious. Also the mushroom with paneer, oh my goodness that was mind blowing. The mushroom tasted incredible, and put with the paneer it was perfect. The mocktails were delicious, we would have liked more but felt quite full with the food, the dishes might look small but you won't leave hungry. The decor was beautiful, and thankfully, the air conditioning was put on on a regular basis as it was a warm night. The service was good, some staff were better than others who were lacking a friendly touch. We are looking forward to returning to try more of the menu.

VERY DISAPPOINTING! - overly expensive!! I'll stick to the better tasting food in London where I don't have to pay excruciating prices!! We tried the taster platter as the starter and it was literally all fried food - for £15! Not a single thing tasted different from the other! For mains we had their thali and again lacked flavour, taste, the roti (Chapatti) was soft but anyone can do that! I am ashamed to say I paid £22 for a soft roti and a platter of tasteless items. Within the mains was another set of starter - we didn't even bother eating that and the dessert - "Mango"Shikund - 1) where was the Mango? If I'm paying this price I expect mango in there. 2) it tasted dry and lacked all kinds of favour. I watched the Gordon Ramsay best restaurants show and I recall a man saying "the food lived up to how it looked". I am ever so disappointed to say that this was certainly not the case with the food we ate yesterday at Prashad. We came from London to try the food at Prashad and the prices were shocking! Even in London we dont pay the high prices that Prashad have set. They've clearly driven away their key Indian community customers by trying to turn this into a mock fine dining restaurant. The food lacked taste and flavours, portions looked way smaller than what was seen previously and it's such a shame the taste has been compromised for the look! If this was the same food on Ramsay's show, you wouldn't even have been entered in. 2/5 for the great job on the renovation of the restaurant, because as long as it looks good ey! Advice: go back to your routes and scarp the pretentious items!

It’s not often that a takeaway is as good as eating in the restaurant but Prashad definitely manage to maintain the same standards as dining in. We have ordered takeaways a few times during lockdown. Their order process was easy and pick up was efficient, whilst maintaining social distancing. The food was consistently of a high standard. I’ve already booked a table to eat in the restaurant post-lockdown and really looking forward to it.

Prashad has always been a favourite of ours. We are not vegan or vegetarian however they serve the best tasting food we had ever had. Together with excellent service from every member of staff they rate to be our number 1 restaurant. Today was our first social outing since lockdown due to covid19 and both my husband and I felt a little anxious. However we should have known better. The social distancing was observed and the obvious training with regard to hygiene and cleaning was outstanding. Thank you Bobby, Minal and team for making us feel safe, feeding us excellent food and outstanding service. Maxine and Gary x

One of the two best restaurants for high quality Indian food in Leeds. We've been dining there for six years and we only wish we'd known sooner!

It is take away and delivery only, due to the pandemic. We ordered cold starters and chole and a paneer dish. Shrikaand for pudding. They were as excellent as usual. We live some distance away, so avoided dosas and breads that would go soggy or hard on the way home. The tasty food boosted our mood, as we all like a treat now and then. Food is on a par with a top hotel in an Indian city or someone's Indian home. I have had bigger and better samosas in Southall, but in 35 years of curry-worshipping, no other dish has been bettered in a UK restaurant!

Vegitarian restaurant offering great service, nice surroundings and good beer selection - northern monk. However, I found that the dishes on offer were not really to my taste and might not be to everyone's taste. The current menu is a little on the small side also.

Excellent food. Attentive service. Little surprised at the service charge. The set menu has a good and plentiful variety and reasonable value especially on Rishi's deal.

The food and the hospitality is really good. Loved the special chaat and khopra pattis (Chef's special). Thanks for the Indian food away from home.

Gorgeous food and impeccable service. Had the taster starter for 2, the paneeer biryani and the Black Forest cocktail. All were excellent. Would highly recommend for a lovely dining experience.

First time visiting Prashad and won't be the last. Food and drinks delicious and excellent service too! There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed our meal

  • 5/5 Matt T. 2 years ago on Google
We tried Prashad's 5 course taster menu. Hadn't been before, but we we're very impressed with the quality of the food and the great service. We wanted to try a different type of Indian food, having become a bit bored with the typically low-quality meat curries we get locally. We weren't disappointed, the variety and depth of flavours was great and not overly reliant on spice

Service and general environment were very nice. Food generally was very lovely and presentation appealing to the eye. Just a bit more spicy then expected :)

One of the best Indian restaurants in UK I will say. I am foodie and love visiting Indian restaurants. Food is amazing in taste and presentation. Price is little bit higher but worth once you taste it. Interior is beautifully designed according to Indian style furniture. Plenty of free parking outside. Will keep visiting and recommend.

Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Food was fantastic although we ordered far too much! Plenty on the menu to choose from and plenty of wine and beer options to select from too. Only downside was there was an odd, slightly drain like smell to the place, which did distract somewhat from the fabulous food smells.

10 of us went on the evening of 10th December. Some of us visited for the first time whilst others had eaten at Prashad before. The atmosphere was great. Staff were really helpful and the food was amazing. We purchased the fixed price menu for two people and there was enough food between us.

When the wife suggested a meat free curry house I did die a little inside. HOWEVER, this place turned out to be amazing, every mouthful excites with tasty explosions! One of the best taste experiences ever. Combined with professional service and lush surroundings, I absolutely would recommend!

Oh boy. Where would I even begin. I have never been to such a well run Indian restaurant with such an incredible menu made with love, care and attention. There is absoloutely nothing negative I can say about any of it. Service was flawless, food was delicious, price was very reasonable and my bar for indian food has been set impossibly high. We all had moments of silence at the table where we were overcome by the flavours. Hands down the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to.

Thinking curry house? Think again. Vegetarian.. No thanks? think again! This has to be some of the most flavoursome delicious food I've ever had. If you like Indian cuisine and you've only had jalfrezi and madras then come here and see what it's really about. Wow just wow.

Food was absolutely delicious and really worth booking for. So please go. Service was a bit too keen, and we were asked several times (at least 6 times), if we ready to order and far too many returns by staff. Just a little over the top, although everyone was totally polite and lovely, it was tooooo much. I highly recommend 👌

This is a 5-star award winning restaurant in Drighlington, Bradford. It's a family restaurant offering South Indian vegetarian cusine in a family- orientated atmosphere. We know the owners of the restaurant who are a nice family who welcomed us to their wonderful restaurant with a tour and told us about their history and inspriations of creating Prashad. I recommend Paneer & Phul Byriani, Chaat, Garlic Naan, Rotli, Kopra Pethis and the Prashad Passion Mocktail. We really enjoyed ourselves, spending time meeting the other family members of the business including the head chef who does a fantastic job and offered us a free meal. The service from the staff is excellent as they are attentive and welcoming. The restaurant decor is colourful and vibrant authenic feel of India and showcasing their awards and success throughout the years. If you want to have a taste of South Indian vegatarian food, I higly recommend Prashad. This is a highly rated restaurant and one of the best in the country.

Saw this place on TV and planned to go but then Boris decided to lock us down, giving him more room to party hard, lie to parliament and generally ruin the country, so we couldn't go. Then the Hirsute Motorcyclists visited it on their wonderful television programme The Hairy Bikers Go local so we decided to go. Brilliant 7 course tasting menu, each dish wonderfully presented and described by the friendly staff, each bursting with flavour (the dishes, not the staff). Superb experience and well worth the Bib Gourmand they received from the Michelin guide. Thoroughly recommended. The Paneer is to die for.

Had been dreaming of eating at Prashad since since last 5 years even when we were in India. Finally visited it last week on our Anniversary. The staff is friendly and the decor a bit rustic Indian. To gel well they serve tasty Indian Vegetarian food. We ordered for - Kopra Pethis Paneer Chichara Maharani thali Masala Dosa Junior Curry Lovers meal Chutney Tray Googra Shrikhand Pomegranate Mint Sling Mango Lopez The food was really tasty and service was fast and good. The quantity is more than sufficient and we had left overs which we had to carry home. For Gordon Ramsay fans the throwback to Gordon's Best restaurant and Prashad's prowess is displayed on the wall near the bar. The food was lovely and I understand its designed for all palates here but just one complaint (So sorry i am just nitpicking)- The authentic Gujrati feel was a tad missing. Will I go back here - Yes of course

Had heard a lot about Prashad prior to our visit and seen them on TV. Some friends and I decided to visit and try some award winning food. The restaurant has a modern/tasteful decor across a variety of seating areas and doesn't feel cramped or like you're sitting on top of the tables next to you. The whole restaurant is vegetarian and the menu really showcases the cuisine. As we all couldn't decide on which single dishes we wanted all four of us opted for the Maharani Thali to get a taste of everything. Although we all ordered the same dish each of us received a different selection of foods and starters which was great for trying and comparing. The staff were attentive and fantastic at explaining the menus and the plates as they were presented. Will definitely be visiting again, well worth the hype and awards they have won.

On the back of seeing hairy bikers and tom kerridge thought would come and try. We went for the tasting menu so could sample a little bit of everything and it was fantastic. staff talked us through each course with each been really flavoursome and not rushed to finish. Would highly recommend a visit

So, right of the bat, it is not a Michelin star experience when it comes to the food. It lacks authenticity when it comes to Indian dishes. For example, the paneer and phul biriyani was more a pulao than a biriyani. The Pani Puri filling was not mashed up, the way it should be, it came as just cubed and boiled potatoes. The service was good, but I don't believe it's enough to justify the premium price that they demand. If you are someone who thinks of vindaloo when someone says Indian food, then this might be the place for you. But if you are looking for true Indian food, this is not the place. I had High Hopes seeing all the reviews, but I was disappointed. This could have been a 3 or 4 start experience if the price was more tempered. I have eaten in Michelin star Indian restaurants in Germany (India Club) and it was way better food there. In short, Not recommended.

One of the best Indian vegetarian restaurant in the entire UK. It is a bit pricey and a slow service and average presentation but can be overlooked due to its unique taste of food. Thank you so much.
