This is « the » Indian restaurant in Arlington. I do not have the expertise nor the experience to judge the quality of the food. For me, it’s ok. Chicken was well cooked but drown into a thick sauce… but maybe it’s the way you serve it. Great staff and great people.

Never going give our business to this place m. They are looking for ways to take more money from customer. We were a party of 5, and they charged us service fees of 18%. Bill clearly says the service charge is for a party great than 5. So common sense it’s for party of 6+. The waiter lied on the bill count and added party of 6 to extort money. Luckily we checked the bill right after coming home because we sensed a wrong doing. You ask for onions, they give 3 slices and charge $4. This was new charge after visiting this place from past 5 years.

Worst Rogan joash ever! They gave us lamb curry and called it rogan joash and then insisted that this is correct recipe. I have lived all my life in Kashmir and there are many good places where you can find good rogan joash in boston. Don’t order Rogan joash here.

Upscale Indian Punjabi restaurant in Arlington Ambiance: it was super pleasant. We sat by the window although there were some appealing seats towards the center. The place has a calming atmosphere good for an evening out. Service: the servers are friendly and they are quick to respond. The food and drinks were brought to us promptly. Food and drinks: pre-pandemic times when I visited Punjab, I really liked the Indian cocktails they had. I was disappointed to hear that they weren't served anymore considering that was the reason I picked the place for dinner that night. The rest of the food was quite delicious and we enjoyed dining there. Veggie: they have plenty of vegetarian options and I would highly recommend if you are vegetarian!

We have always eaten take out here. So I can't speak to the eat in experience. I can say that Punjab is at the top of our list of takeout places. The food is always very good. Our ordering experiences easy and the prices reasonable. What more can I say?

Not a authentic Punjabi/ Indian restaurant as they advertised. Ambience is good but felt like we are paying just for that.. taste was horrible and not even close to Indian style cooking. Breads were good but appetizers and curries were not at all upto the mark.. there are lot other better Indian restaurants with cheaper rates and better quality in MA

Great experience all around. They didn't rush us, which was the first thing that impressed me greatly. We were a group of 5 family & friends that hadn't seen each other for a year and just wanted to enjoy a nice relaxing time (to be fair, it was a Sunday night, I wouldn't expect that much time if they were slammed). We had drinks, apps, dinner & dessert, and everything was wonderful. I also got several containers of mango lassi to go which was amazing!! The service was great, everyone we interacted with was lovely. It's also BEAUTIFULLY decorated!! I know from someone else's experience, that they can accommodate large groups which is really nice. Highly recommend! As I always mentioned in my reviews when relevant, going here supports a small, local, minority owned business. (these types of companies really need our business now more than chain restaurants do).

Service was solid and atmosphere was relaxing. We started with a vegetarian and a lamb samosa and both were very good. My shrimp curry was excellent with lots of shrimp. I got it medium hot but wasn’t hot enough so the brought more hot sauce which was homemade and excellent. My friends said their meals were good ( see pic) the naan was very good.

Good food, and the dine-in experience is notably nice. I liked sitting in the "back" which is more brightly lit and has a view into the kitchen. Loved it.

Food was good, loved the tandoori chicken and lamb chop. Tandoori Naan was little burned/over done. Salmon curry and lamb curry was exceptionally well - perfect desi heat. Punjab garden salad was pretty ordinary, overall 4/5 exp. Would recommend others and also I would love to come back for more.

I have been dining here for over a decade, and growing up I spent many birthday lunches here. Everything is delicious and fresh and served up quickly! This is definitely one of the best spots in MA to get Indian food!

I was expecting delicious northern indian/punjab curries that were flavorful, instead I was greeted with not so yummy curries and also not very thick or rich. I have had much better ones. I am not sure why it’s even 4.4 on Googlereviews. Price was comparatively ok given that it comes with basmati rice. We ordered hot lamb korma and hot lamb curry but both of them are not spicy. We are really quite disappointed.

My favorite Indian place to go in Arlington. I had the masala dosa, potato samosas, and garlic naan, all delicious. Great vibe, staff, and good prices too. There are lots of selection of chutneys and ways to combine flavors and tastes. This is a great place to go.

We hosted a family celebration dinner for 25 in the semi-private event space separated from the rest of the restaurant by ceiling to floor decorative beads. Beautiful ambiance, delicious food, and great service! We could hook up a monitor for a slide show. Planning with Gurinder was easy and efficient. Parking, toddler accommodations, and special requests all worked out great. Highly recommend for any similar gathering! Many thanks for helping create a new family memory!

I had lamb biriyani here. Good taste and enough quantity for two. But their definition of biriyani is what many of us would call a 'Pulav'. It wasn't the typical biriyani with basmati rice that I'm used to.

Didn't really live up to the ratings. With a name like Punjab, you'd expect some really nice and rich, creamy and flavorful North Indian cuisine, but instead it was extremely safe, borderline indistinguishable curries with low quality preparation. Standard Indian food affair at fine dining rates, really not worth it.

Punjab at Arlington Center offers curbside pickup, no-contact fooddelivery, and catering during the pandemic. PunjabArlington is happy to serve the finest Indian Food recipes from Northern India, where the owners were born. The same fresh ingredients, herbs, and spices used in the restaurant have been practiced by many generations of Punjabis. Two of my favorites are Punjab's Tandoori Mixed Grill and Methi Chicken Kadai (a special request item).

After hearing good things about this place we took a gamble and ordered a bunch of food for takeout. My wife is Indian, so I've had my fair share of good and bad Indian cuisine. I was pleasantly surprised at both how friendly the staff was while ordering and with all the food. The quality was top notch and the portion size for the curries was overly generous. I can't wait to go back and try some more of their food.

Also, the price is reasonable. I suggest this spot with no hesitation.

Delicious, they've always done a terrific job & the food is consistently delicious. We got the Paneer Korma w/rice & nan & Mango Lassi(like a creamy smoothy without ice-so tasty). Everything was completely delicious. We've ordered here many times and have gotten Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Korma, Paneer Tikka Masala & everything is so flavorful. It's very easy to order and now pickup is a breeze, you come at the estimated time, meet them outside the front entrance and they will put your order on the table right out front for you. It's safe and efficient and makes for a very easy pick up.

Punjab is our go-to restaurant for North Indian cuisine. It's one of the best in Boston area. We recently worked with Raj for catering at a wedding. Raj went above and beyond to help us. He was very patient with our requests and delivered beyond our expectations. The food was great and we had a very positive experience with Punjab. Definitely recommend them for catering!

The food here was fresh and delicious! But the service was a bit off. We noticed that the in house menu had less to offer than the online menu and when we asked about it the server told us that she had ripped a page out of our menu because they were out of a dessert but that we could order the other things off the online menu. My husband ordered methi chicken and when she asked us how it was, he told her that it tasted good but it was a bit dry. She responded by agreeing that it wasn't good and saying she didn't like it either and that's why she didn't recommend it to us. She then walked away without even offering to have them fix it. She had a better time hanging out with the guys in the kitchen than checking on us to see if we needed anything like more water or the check after we had asked for a to go box. I had asked if they had tea available which they didn't so we ordered water. She then came back to the table and said, "so, you are or are not ordering alcahol!?" It was 3 in the afternoon. Clearly very concerned about the dollar amount of our check. We were one of three tables in the entire place. Everything else here was awesome, clean, great atmosphere and delicious food. I wish our server had been a little bit more professional so that I could leave a 5 star review.

Worst customer service ever ! Impolite staff. The Manager especially has no manners of speaking to the customer. After bringing take out food home, we found out that some of the order was incorrect. But it was past dinner time and so we started eating the food, while still calling the restaurant and requesting to send the correct order. The staff and manager were adamant that we should have kept the wrong food item until they bring the correct one. What I find ridiculous is that instead of being sorry for their mistake, they expect the customer to not eat dinner and wait 1 hr until the correct the order can be delivered. This is the worst management I have seen by any restaurant. Such a shame that a restaurant with good food has such impolite and ridiculous staff.

We have lived in town for 18 years and Punjab is one of our go-to restaurants for a special occasion. Excellent food that comes out quickly. Professional service and nice atmosphere. The kabuli chana is one of our favorites, also lamb vindaloo. We have always enjoyed coming here and it's the best Indian food around.

  • 5/5 Michael B. 8 months ago on Google

Love the ambiance, the soft music in the background, the host was cheerful and the lady that served our food was very sweet and polite too. We ordered samosa chaat, methi paneer which was a speciality and it was one of the best sabzis I have eaten in North America. The food was so good that we ordered dinner and packed and took it with us too for later because in short their stuff is “yumm”. The place is so clean, I loved the art on the walls too, I would definitely try and revisit again while I am here.

My team's usual gathering spot for the past 8 years. Their top quality and consistency is outstanding. Absolutely delicious food, very authentically prepared (according to my Indian friends). Best part, when you ask for spicy level to be hot, they deliver it HOT. I have very high tolerance for spice and I really appreciate it. If you can't handle hot then make sure you tell them, they'll make it exactly to your liking.

Authentic North Indian cuisine with a few South Indian options. Choose your level of spiciness. Chefs are Indian. Mango Lassi is made from scratch so ... YES! Wait staff is friendly and accommodating, and will explain everything in detail if needed. Warm and cosy atmosphere. Have been several times and will be back again and again. Perfect for Sunday after church group hang out with friends :-)

Mixed review. Probably the most authentic tandoori chicken available in the Northeast, would encourage everyone to give it a try. However I was really disappointed by their take on chicken biryani, there is a world of difference between chicken-rice and biryani which is apparent from their preparation. I would humbly request the owners to rename the dish. Overall a great restaurant just avoid the biryani.

I order takeout from Punjab about once or twice a week. I always get plain paratha, paneer korma, chana paneer, and dal makhani. It ends up providing a lunch and dinner for both me and my boyfriend: 4 meals for around $50. They are definitely the best Indian restaurant I've experienced in Massachusetts, and I have tried at least 9 others. Ask for their 'gajar ka halwa' dessert - it is truly unmatched.

Amazing food, a tons of space. Easily my favorite Indian restaurant with lots of good curry and good combo with different meats (chicken, beef, goat, lamb). One curry order with a meat is enough for one person (it should come with rice), I also order one order of naan. If you go in a group, definitely get a few variety of curry combos a try!

The restaurant is in Arlington Center and it’s a nice place with a good choice of North Indian cuisine. The ambience was decent and the service was good. Ordered Bhel puri, Malai Kofta, Gulab Jamun and Naan. The Naan was very fluffy with a nice taste. Bhel was a little higher on the sweeter side. But nevertheless enjoy the food.

We ordered chicken tikka(average taste), Navratana korma(good) and Methi chicken (at first there was no methi , after complaining they poured some dry methi as if we don’t understand the taste of methi chicken ) and Naan was so dry. My wife didn’t like the food at all hence gave 3 dollars as tip , server came back saying this is very low tip please give more , if we liked the food and service we would have given good tip .Waiter was complaining about his salary saying they are not paid enough , owner of restaurant please pay them enough so they don’t torture customers.

I have been to this place many times and always look forward to the visit. I have tried several Indian restaurants in the Boston area, this place certainly stands out. Their appetizers are filled with taste and I love their papri chaat. I am a fan of their navratan korma and naan. I have tried all of their naan options and all are good, especially the peshavari naan which has a sweet stuffing. After having the peshawari naan at other places I have to come appreciate this naan at this place even more. Even though they mainly specialize in North Indian cuisine, their dosa is commendable as well. Apart from that, I was impressed by the decor of the restaurant. If you are looking for a relaxed evening at a fine Indian restaurant, then this is the right place for you. The service can be improved though. They need a little more cheerful staff to match the food quality.

The lamb dosa is delicious with mashed potatoes and diced lamb. Most places serve the lamb as ground but this was amazing. Soft and no fat! Priceless. The chicken vindaloo was great with white meat. It’s spicy, I ordered hot on a scale of 1-4 and I’m no wimp, wasabi bring it on but I was surprised. I’ve been in before and hot was not this so maybe it’s tonight. The bartender was awesome!

The restaurant serves very delicious north indian food. We have been to this place multiple times and they never disappointed us. They accomodated our request to serve even after the kitchen was about to close. My favorite curries are Malai Kofta and Kadai Paneer.
