Food was nice but not special enough for the price. The strawberry and something thyme mocktails were delicate and refreshing, with fruits flavour and tea aroma, not too sweet which leaves my mouth a very clean taste. The desserts were beautifully made and delicious. However, the dining environment is extremely noisy, we have to shout in order to talk to each other. The music only adds more noise to the whole environment. We actually take the dress code seriously which is like a joke, people wear hoodies and trainers everywhere. Service is not so good with our first waitress, who we only get to speak to once when she gave us the menus. Then she is occupied chatting with other colleagues and failed to notice us. But the waiter who served us after her was friendly and welcoming. In general not worth the money, can have a decent tasting menu with proper service at somewhere else.

We booked here as an inbetween week treat, the setting is lovely! Great feel and atmosphere. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. Our waiter Kanitta was exceptional and really made our day special. I have taken a star off as I eat meat and my wife is a vegetarian. As a result, we couldn't each do a taster menu. We could only do the vegetarian taster menu. They do a single vegetarian taster menu, but not a meat one (2 person minimum). I was offered a starter and a main, but I wanted to do a taster menu. This is the first restaurant I have been to where we haven't been able to do separate taster menus. It was disappointing, as other than this it was a superb experience.

Had a really disappointing experience here for my birthday dinner. My husband called ahead to book for our special occasion dinner but the whole time we were being rushed through cold and greasy food that we had to send back. The waiters were not helpful or friendly and we just felt like he they were trying to rush us out. I'm only giving 2 stars because the dim sum was delicious.

Lovely dinner, great selection of dim sums. I specially recommend the lobster dim sums. The half duck main was good as well. The drinks were average, however the service was a let down . Staff were nice but service was extremely slow.

Visited twice and loved both our visits. The food was delivered promptly and felt like any requests were well catered for. My only reservation is the high fee to book a table but I understand this is uniform across the partner restaurants under same ownership and the typical price after a full meal and drinks is reflected.

Great dining experience. The food is amazing. Nicole the waiter was very patient and looked after us very well. We will be back. P.S. Had to update my review after our second visit on the 30th of January 2023 between 17:00 and 19:00. Service was below average. very superficial service (e.g. pouring water for 1 person and not another, not knowing the menu, clearing table pub-style) the food was served with big time gaps between dishes, generally cooked and spiced well, but deep fried meals were oozing with oil.

Yauatcha never disappoints. The dim sum are incredible and melt in your mouth and the cocktails are great. The food tastes super fresh and they have a decent vegetarian selection also!

My bestie and I went to @yauatchasoho to have like a girls date after not see each other for about 4/5 months due to Covid-19. We enjoyed the food so much. ? I can say the *Singapore Noodles* we had was the best one I have ever hard. I tried the *Prawn and Chicken shui mai* first time and I loved it. For someone like me who is a picky eater, I am always happy when I find a food that I actually love and enjoy. Lets not forgot the Vanilla/Chocolate Ice Cream which tasted so rich and delicious. They also had great customer service as in all the staff that attended to us where very friendly and nice. I will definitely love to this restaurant again and will recommend it to you guys. I will give it 5 ?.

What there was of the food we had here was fine to poor. Combined with really terrible service by waiters who weren't wearing their masks properly and were getting far too close, plus the tawdry, tinsley atmosphere which seems to make the place half-club half-restaurant the place leaves you thoroughly disappointed.

As a former Londoner, coming back was such a delight. Having lived in Asia and spent a lot of time there, still my favourite dim sum place on earth and favourite restaurant in London. So “clean” as far as dim sum goes, almost sushi like. Creative, delicious, great combinations (and unusual). Can’t recommend enough.

Yauatcha Soho, absolutely outstanding restaurant. Probably one of the best Chinese restaurants I would ever visit. But I didn’t expect anything less from a Michelin starred restaurant. Food was on point. Tasty, fresh and well seasoned. It was the perfect treat of dinner post lockdown! Ambience was nice. Music not too loud. Great selection of red wines and cocktails! Love the cocktails. So good, so fresh. Perfect balance! Staff were friendly and professional. Good value for money and decent portions too. Love, love, absolutely love

Amazing atmosphere. They have amazing cocktails and we got the most expensive menu so we got to taste wagyu beef and a very crispy duck with the typical Beijing duck pancakes with scallions and hoisin sauce. It was definitely more food than we could handle and everyone was extremely full at the end and couldn't finish everything.

It seemed pretty empty on a weekday, but turns out they seat all restaurant diners in the basement first. All the windows are frosted so you get a night club feel. The bar at the back is for drinks only. Toilets were decent, signage was in Chinese so look carefully😂 女 is woman 。男 is man

Went here for my birthday recently. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the food was excellent by all means! Tasty and impressively presented. Though my main dissapointment would be how uncomfortable the seats were, lack of coat hangers and there was hair found in the pak choi that was plated.

The food was fantastic. Lovely lunch. Great selection of dim sums. I specially recommend the Har Gau and Cheung Fun. Staff was good but not for one waitress which she seemed did not want to work and have attitude “I am busy dont ask me” and reception told us “DOWNSTAIR” and keep chatting with another one that a bit unacceptable. Your restaurant is amazing, please dont let that kind of staff ruin everything.

Top Notch- the service is impeccable, the setting has the ‘wow’ factor and the food was amazing. Proper spicy prawn crackers with delicious dips, the dim sum were some of the best we’ve ever had, and the rib eye beef in black bean sauce was outstanding. The other meals- egg fried rice, Singapore fried noodles and red snapper curry were also excellent quality. A really enjoyable meal out and well worth the money.

My most favourite place ever! The atmosphere inside, downstairs is amazing. The dim sum is from another level. I’ve nowhere else in the world eaten this quality and delicious food. I’ve been at this place now over 20 times and it’s still delicious. Service has been always outstanding. I highly recommend this place, in the middle of Soho.

We’re serial attenders to this Soho institution. The ambiance is understated chic. The service is welcoming and attentive. A big thank you to Roshan in that respect. Top man. None of the food is the best I’ve ever had but it’s delicious all the same. The standard is high and more importantly it’s consistent every time. What draws us back is the whole package. Relaxed understated Chinese fine dining.

Absolutely amazing food! Vegan taster menu dishes just kept on arriving. Red snapper curry was excellent quality and substantial. Jasmine tea served with main course was perfect. Patisserie desserts were beautiful.

Overall I have to say that we were very impressed by the food. The dim sum was fantastic. You get 3 portions per dim sum order, so it could get awkward of there's an even number of people sharing. The mains were also very tasty, and very substantial. It's worth noting that if you're ordering rice to accompany your main, then one between two is enough. Finishing off the evening, we saw that there was a selection of handmade chocolates and macarons. Without a doubt, the macrons were amongst some of the best I'd ever had. This feeling was echoed by one of the group who happens to be a professional baker. All in all, I would recommend the place to anyone, for the food and drinks. However, I'm docking a star because the restaurant staff were at times a little inattentive.

Dimsums and starters were the only good things. Drinks were ok. Service was not upto par. We asked for water twice which never came. Spent the entire evening without water. Main course was way overpriced for the very mediocre quality.

With the prices they charge I would have expected a much higher level of "make me feel special" service. It was my anniversary and they knew yet there was no fuss at all.

It was my first time here, and I love that the dim sums are freshly made. It's definitely a quality over quantity kinda experience. Highly recommend this place. Desserts were amazing, too. I only didn't like the ambience, which is a bit too dark to my liking. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

Wow wow. One of the most memorable restaurants I’ve ever been to, and definitely the top restaurant for me in London. Me and my mom ordered a tasting of a variety of dim sums, as well as a duck salad. We also tasted two mooncakes for dessert as it was a special for the Chinese new year. We loved everything. The different textures and flavours of every dumpling, the quality of each one. It was spectacular in my opinion and for now the closest ill ever be to authentic Chinese cuisine. I dream of going back to London just to go to Yauatcha again :)

Great ambiance and amazing food for a really special dining experience. We chose vegan options which were incredible, from the hot and sour soup to an assortment of dim sum. My favourites were the mushroom cheung fun (absolutely incredible flavours and textures) and the edamame puff - a crispy then melt-in-your-mouth dim sum. Definitely recommended!

We came as a group of 5 for dinner on a Wednesday night. The service was excellent, very friendly and accomodating and the atmosphere was great. The star of the show really was the food though, it was genuinely outstanding. We ordered a range of different dishes: dim sum, noodles, stir-fries etc and they were all delicious. I would particularly recommend the crab bao bun! All of the cocktails were delicious too, so overall I can't fault it! The prices are a bit expensive however for me, it was totally justified given the quality of food and service. I'd highly recommend for a special occasion. Thanks for a lovely evening!

  • 5/5 Thomas L. 1 year ago on Google
Had an amazing dinner here with the Prosper tasting menu. The dishes on that menu were all very tasty and a well balanced selection. A lot of food for two people to share so we had leftovers to take away. It felt like the food here was perfectly adjusted to UK tastes but without obviously compromising on authenticity. Would definitely recommend.

  • 2/5 Yaming 3 years ago on Google
Food is alright, but the service is too bad. With reservations beforehand, we can’t sit inside unless other customers leave, but there were a lot of spare tables inside actually. The outside table is unstable and it was raining on the day. So disappointing. The food price and service fee is much higher than similar dim sum restaurants. We ate £80 (2 people)

Lovely place for a special meal. Quite pricey but excellent dim sum in central London. The environment / decoration is a bit cold in terms of the atmosphere, but still overall worth visiting for the very high quality food

  • 5/5 Yujing L. 3 years ago on Google
The dim sum here is amazing and really out of my expectation. We ordered one traditional and ritual set for two people. The sticky rice in leaf lotus and seafood black truffle dumpling are my favourite, the taste is really authentic and delicate. Will back again this August.

  • 5/5 Julie S. 3 years ago on Google
Really surprised at someone saying masks weren't on, when I was there this weekend all the staff had them on and no physical menus. The set up was fine and the food was delicious, plenty to choose from. I would recommend going as a group and ordering platters to share to be cost effective. My children were satisfied too, which is a rarity.

  • 3/5 Joshua Y. 1 year ago on Google
Overpriced dim sum. Really don't need to come here, when it is only a few blocks away from Chinatown, and you can get better portions, more authentic experience and cost half or even less. Service was fine, and hot sauces were good. While the food overall was decent, it was just overpriced for no real reason.

I gently love this place. Have been coming here for years and never been disappointed. Food is always delicious, service is good and staff does it best.

  • 4/5 Patrick M. 1 year ago on Google
Delicious and one of the best Asian meals I have had in a while. It’s a little pricey, however, I knew that and expected it going into the meal. The fried noddles were mouthwatering and the chicken was fresh. Service was a little slow at the beginning which was painful. However, once our food started coming it picked up. I would recommend and I would go back for sure.

  • 3/5 Kristian J. 1 year ago on Google
We’ve been here for dinner for the first time. The food is good, above average, but I was expecting a bit more especially from the classics steamed and baked dim sum which cost each 36pounds. In total we spent almost 170 pounds which is a bit high for me considering what we had

  • 5/5 Yujing L. 3 years ago on Google
The prawn toast and the venison puff are what i definitely order if I visit Yauatcha. It’s not too pricey for a restaurant which used to have one Michelin star. The different dumplings here are all good. Some main big dishes might not as good as the quality of dumplings.

  • 5/5 Sophia l. 5 months ago on Google
The food was rather nice and rather hot. The tea selection is ranged and worth trying. Staff were attentive and they have a wonderful selection of desserts. The venison puffs are tasty.

Tasty authentic dimsums & other foods. Fancy atmosphere. Disadvantages were staffs and service. Clumgy and not very good knowlege about food compared to high price. Even had to ask 4times to get more pickles. Spent £230 for 4 people.

Yauatcha Soho: where my taste buds went on a flavor rollercoaster! 🎢 The mushroom dim sum was so good, I almost declared myself a fungi enthusiast on the spot. 🍄🥟 The stir-fried beef had me doing a happy dance in my chair – I might have even twirled my chopsticks like drumsticks. 🕺💃 And the aromatic crispy duck? Let's just say, I'd happily wear a duck costume just to show my appreciation.

  • 4/5 Ilaria S. 6 months ago on Google
Food quality was 8/10, great at the spot but both me and the other person didn’t feel great afterward. Service was not excellent, quite uninterested/not matching the vibe (they were rushing us to leave and brought us the check although we didn’t ask for it with the machine to pay, and we still had half an hour in our reservation time). They were accommodating as we asked to be moved from downstairs to upstairs as it was loud, but upstairs the table are so close one to the other that it doesn’t feel intimate at all. I would go back for the food because I think it’s a great Chinese but not for the service/ environment. Also the guy at the door is really not welcoming.

  • 3/5 Estefania S. 9 months ago on Google
The food was very good, try the dim sum and specially the duck, both were perfect. The bock choy is also delicious. The service below avarage and prices are too high. The restaurant could also use some love. The chairs seem old and the whole place feels a bit neglected. They don’t have an allergen menu and have no soy free options.

  • 4/5 GabriP 8 months ago on Google
Gluten-free okay! I tried this restaurant because of the reviews I read online. I can only confirm what I read except for two things. Few choices of dishes for celiacs and lack of tablecloth. Otherwise great place, from the staff to the quality of the food. There are so many waiters that you are treated like a king, served and revered! The place is very gloomy, dark colors with little light. Small bathrooms with a useless sink, narrow and long with faucets that spray very little water. Bill £40 per head, honest for the area.

  • 5/5 YU Y. 3 years ago on Google
Prices here are on the higher end but the quality is good. Service was a little slower than usual this time. We have been here many times and like their menu and bar area a lot. Delicious cocktails and great food. The staff are very friendly, and the price to food quality is also strong. Highly recommended restaurant to go to! Remember to book as the seats are limited at the moment. 下个月见

The dim sum here is amazing- the flavours were so good! We tried lots of different dim sum but we were unfortunately too full to try the dessert! By far the best dim sum I've had anywhere in London. 4 stars are for the slow service and lack of atmosphere in the restaurant- we sat on the ground floor. But the food and drink were incredible.

Yauatcha Soho deserves a perfect 5 for an exceptional dining experience! The Soft Shell Crab Bao, Wagyu Beef Puff, Prawn Cheung Fun, and Fried Chilli Squid formed a culinary masterpiece. The ambiance was casually inviting, setting the stage for an enjoyable meal. The attentive and friendly service added to the overall charm of Yauatcha Soho. A must-visit for those seeking a delightful blend of flavors and a welcoming atmosphere!

Saw the good review on google and decided to give a try. Har gao and siew mai is okay, stir fried veg there’s flavor. They Kuey Yeow and cheung fun was really good. Down side was the waitress was very impatient with us, we just ask 1 question. Have to ask 2 times for chili sauce. however very friendly and attentive with other customer. Will appreciate if the same service level is given to all customers.

  • 2/5 Jawad A. 3 years ago on Google
Too expensive for the quantity and quality of food presented. Did love the Cheung Fun with Prawns and Bean Curd but the rest of the dim sum section is subpar at best. It took way too long for 8 or so dumplings to arrive and I spend almost 90% of my alloted 1.5 hours waiting for the waiters to serve or arrive with my food. Totally not worth the hype!

  • 2/5 Cassie C. 3 years ago on Google
Very busy and slow. Not ideal for a quick lunch. We had the Taste of Y menu. It took 25 mins between courses and took 15 mins to get the bill. Food wasn't particularly mind blowing especially for a high class restaurant. There was no macaroon, instead a very small scoop of vanilla ice cream. They seem to be short staffed and service charged has now increased to 15%. Not as good as previous visits. Not recommended.

  • 2/5 Yasmine H. 3 years ago on Google
A hugely disappointing experience..... it started with a very unfriendly reception. On a rainy day we were sat outside ( even after booking). We asked if we could sit inside and the lady seating us said “ there’s only one table inside and it’s occupied”. It started raining so I went tell her that we were going to leave and magically she said there was now a table inside. When we went inside we were the only ones and there were about 20 empty tables. The food was okay, nothing special except the crab and coriander dim sum which was very good. But a bill of £100 for 2 eating dim sum and no alcohol Isn’t good value. Also a 14% service charge is simply taking advantage of clients too polite to complain. I won’t be going there again.

We had very attentive, excellent service in this restaurant. The menu, however, was very complicated with numerous options for sets and subsets which we found unhelpful. The food was good, some dishes really stood out like shell crab dim sum, fried rice, and fish, others were ok.

  • 3/5 C. 2 years ago on Google
Overall the food was good but not exceptional, especially considering the price and the other options available in central London. The dim sum were the only things worth the price imo. Beware that you may not end up getting the dessert you ordered because it ran out before you were ready to be served it, and you may be given a dessert of the waitress’ choice as a result (which you’ll be assumed to enjoy because “it’s more expensive”).

We love this restaurant, however make sure if you're going for dinner, that you book downstairs. Very very different experience than being upstairs. We had table booked for 6 and we had to wait almost 1/2hour for the table. It wasn't the best start, but we grabbed some cocktails in the bar and when take took us to the table, they said cocktails are on house so it made it much more pleasant evening to know that they make effort to keep customers happy. Food is absolutely delicious!!

We thoroughly enjoyed every dish at your restaurant, especially appreciating the abundance of vegan choices. The standout was undoubtedly the delightful 'Pecan & Persimmon' dessert. It would be wonderful if you could consider keeping this exquisite treat on the menu permanently. Kudos to your team for the fantastic culinary experience!

Yauatcha Soho proved to be the ultimate destination for celebrating Lunar New Year. The atmosphere was vibrant and celebratory, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The meal was nothing short of exquisite, with standout dishes like their sumptuous dim sum, expertly crafted cocktails, and delectable pastries that left a lasting impression on our taste buds.
