I've eaten at over a dozen Indian restaurants and this is the best my husband and I have visited. The service was good, the food was excellent, the live music made me want to dance and the vibe set a romantic tone. Overall, it was a perfect experience and I highly recommend trying this place!

Did take-out yesterday and their pickup is organized and they are being very thoughtful about safety, allowing only one person inside at a time, enter in one door, exit out of another door to limit contact and keep distance between customers. And the food was delicious! Highly recommend helping them stay in business during the pandemic!

Just went here last night and I wanted to make sure to leave them an amazing review because my time there was fabulous. I was a part of a larger group of people who came in about an hour before close. Ive worked in restaurants, I know that can be frustrating. But we were greeted warmly, checked in on frequently, and the food was absolutely delicious. Thank you so much. I will be back for sure!

The food is absolutely fantastic - you're going to be paying a touch more than a basic Indian restaurant, but holy moly, it's soooo good! The only complaint I have is that the wait was incredibly long - my wife placed our order last night and was told to arrive in 20-25 minutes (we ordered to go). She got there 25 minutes later, and still had to wait another 30+ minutes. They also did not have an organized to go scheme, but I believe we ordered on day 2 of their new operation, so I bet in a week or two they will be operating much more smoothly. All that said, you've gotta go here. I had dreams about their naan and tandoori chicken last night.

The food here is quite authentic to say the least. The combination of herbs and spices in their entrees make the food flavorful. The basmati rice is perfect for these type of dishes. The service was good and the time to receive our food was on point. I highly recommend for first timer to get the naan flat bread; dip it in the sauces from the entree to give the full experience of Indian and Bangladesh cuisine.

I came here with my girlfriend on Valentine's Day, and even though we were waiting outside for a bit before they let us in (it was very cold!), it was wonderful. The Avocado Garlic Naan bread is a great appetizer, and the food is prepared and cooked well. Great restaurant!

Did a large order for a birthday and everything was wonderful! They forgot part of our order and immediately made it right when notified. Customer service was phenomenal and the food was fantastic. The dal was an unexpected hit; most places it’s very one note but this was dynamic and flavorful. This will be our go to Indian food from now on.

Authentic and awesome! Currently no dine in.. and kind of sketch area.. but delicious. 1 star off because they dont label the dishes in your go bag and unless you're super familiar, you dont know what is what. But yum!

I went to the lunch buffet with my sister. We split the bill, but my sister agreed to pay the tip on the entire amount since she ordered extra food. As such, I did not leave any tip, and I agreed only to pay my half of the bill. When I got my cc statement, the restaurant added $6 onto the amount I agreed to pay. I have proof of receipt. Not only is the food not the great, but they also add extra money to your cc bill. Don't eat here.

We like a lot to go out. Yesterday we came to this excellent place which we didn’t know before. We had a lovely evening there with delicious cooking and a professional crew and an impressive cook. We put this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will certainly return very soon. Highly recommended.

The food here is Bangladeshi and it does not taste very good if you expect Indian food. The chicken curry was filled with ginger garlic paste and malai kofta was pungent clove flavor. I have never eaten food prepared like that and would not go back here again. They have a Buffett for $15 but it did not have any paneer dishes or a large spread and hence choose al carte.

Best Indian food by far in the Twin Cities. Friendly service and enough choices to satisfy anyone. I like my food spicy but have found that the 'hot' is hot enough. The extra hot about blew me into the next county. My wife and I visit often.

Serves as name, standard restaurant. -Good test of indian food -Indian theme -classical music around you - even they do live music -Resturant looks like old indian village theme Which reminds me home. Cons. Lightning inside restaurant could be more as looks dark in evening time

This restaurant is clearly one of the most attractive place to eat in the region. Every time I come there I am exceedingly happy. They hold their very high level service and the highest level of food they offer. You always win with this restaurant. Very recommended.

We walked in and the man just said buffet and walked away. So whatever we go to the buffet, it was all picked through...again whatever we made plates... THEN THEY START CLEANING UP THE BUFFET. We were charged 30 dollars. And weren’t even there for 10 minutes. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. A simple hey we are cleaning up, can I get you a menu would have been perfect.

Gandhi Mahal is very nice, charming atmosphere, chai is delicious and refreshing nice that it is free refills. The Lunch buffet was very tasty, lots of flavorful dishes that can be sampled without having to try to remember the name. Remembering the name of something you like can be stressful when ordering off the menu, so write yourself a note or take a pic.

Ghandi Mahal was the first Indian restaurant I visited in Minneapolis & I just knew Curry in a Hurry would be just as good. The wait for my food was short and it smelled amazing on the ride home. I got the chicken tikka masala bowl and 12oz servings of vegetable curry and channa saag for later. There are no options to increase the spice level except for purchasing hot sauce. Unfortunately this was the blandest Indian food I’ve ever had in my life. I’m not sure if the “hurry” led to forgetting salt in the food, but I definitely had to add some along with my hot sauce. I’ve never tasted Indian food like this. Three stars for the fragrance, quickness and heartwarming letters posted about their response after the uprising summer 2020.

Weekday lunch buffet has many delicious options, including vegan. We were soon after it opened and everything was fresh. Loved the mixed green salad with tomatoes and cucumbers.

Super nice Indian food. Somewhat on the spicy side though. All in all a great experience - but I am sucker for good Indian food.

Tried this place for the first time today. I was craving Tikka Masala! I chose it for two reasons, wanted to support local small business and it was close to my office. The reviews looked decent as well. Very disappointed. It very lacked flavor and spice, actually there was no spice at all! Way more rice than actual curry, and the little piece of naan was soggy. Also, $14 for a lunch curry? I will not be going back.

This used to be good but it has faded badly. For some reason you can't park in their lot in back.

This place is my first choice site. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. Whenever I want to go to a good lunchon, this restaurant comes straightaway to my head. fresh and diverse food and a rich cuisine.generous crew, and good spirit. Also important, the pay is reasonable. I sent my friends to this place with no hesitation.

I never loved a small business this much! I been coming to this location ever since 2020. Sajida is an all time rock star. She will try her hardest to remember regulars! If you are like me who always order the same thing over and over again she will eventually pick up that phone and guess your order! It's amazing how special it feels. Walk in there all the time and she is there welcoming with big arms ( metaphorically ). She is there all the time! Hope she gets days off! Love this place, will always have my support. You can see how the whole family works there! Bless them all!

We have gone for the lunch buffet and for dinner. I would say the lunch buffet is one of the best I have had at an Indian restaurant. They have both vegetarian and meat options for the buffet. The desserts are a great way to finish off. The dinner was good here as well. We ordered medium hot and it was pretty spicy. Great staff

I can't wait for Gandhi Mahal's restaurant to be rebuilt, we love it. Curry in a Hurry is a great intermediate Indian food fix. I hate hearing about the hard times that they have been put through (restaurant burnt down during the GF rioting and their company van got vandalized). Bad folks should leave the family alone unless they're looking for a bucket of curry.

The old location had an amazing aquaponics system in the basement. While this location isn't as big and doesn't have an entire fish pond inside, it still serves up absolutely wonderful food.

I loved Gandhi Mahal when it was at its original location before the riots. Then three years went by and I came back to town and tried it at its new location in Seward. It’s now called Curry in a Hurry. I was very disappointed. Instead of serving the rice separately like they did before, they put everything in one bowl. The chicken tikka masala was dry, and there was so much rice that it overpowered the entire bowl. I will not be back.

Great food and convenient location! Dig the vegan options, and many of them!

I immediately appreciated this restaurant for not making their food (especially the channa) oily. Naan could have been buttered but went very well with the channa. The buffet also included equally tasty lentil and aloo sabji options to have with the seasoned or basmati rice. The aloo bajjis were quite oily but this did not take away from their taste, which I enjoyed after dipping into the green/spicy chutni (sweet variety was also available). I ate the salad to start light before moving on to everything else in the lunch buffet. The cool kheer and mango custard dessert options were delicious and especially welcome on a summer day. 10/10 and will definitely return!

Falooda is an authentic Hyderabadi icecream dessert, when we ordered here we got coconut jelly which doesn't taste good or look like faluda and doesn't worth spending money for it

Excellent food. Ordering pick up or delivery can be a challenge sometimes, especially when they open but it’s worth it. They grow their own vegetables so you cannot get it fresher anywhere.

Good food. Disappointed in their revised delivery lines. My wife and I have been ordering from Gandhi Mahal for 5 years. Just recently their delivery boundaries were updated and we appear to have been cut off. Its disappointing. Likely we'll never go in to dine there. Lost customers with us :/
