The food was great. Brought my family here for a second visit and ordered quite a bit of food. My aunt ordered the fish curry and it was a little off (smell, taste) were familiar with what fish shouldn't taste like... we notified the server and someone else came to chat with us in a rude manner. She basically insisted they were not a seafood restaurant. We realize that! Her defence was offensive and did nothing to make light of the situation. We just wanted the staff to be aware so they didn't serve it to anyone else. This restaurant went from 5-stars for amazing food, decent service to 3-stars tacky customer service. Learn to listen, that's all.

Everything was excellent! Food & environment. Drinks: Bottled waters & lemons Mango lassi Appetizers: Garlic cheese naan Meat samosa Main dish: Chicken Tikka Marsala - hot What I thought about each dish: I highly recommend the garlic cheese naan, I didn’t expect it to be as good as it was, we ordered 2! Each one comes with 2 pieces. The meat samosas were recommended by the server & I’m glad they were! So good, also the 3 sauces it came with were excellent!! (Green- mint cilantro, white- garlic sauce & brown- tamarind sauce) Chicken tikka Marsala I ordered “hot” it had a great spice to it! If you like spicy I recommend hot, wasn’t too much but was definitely a little spicy (I love hot/spicy food) wouldn’t recommend hot if you aren’t a spicy fan! Environment & people were nice! Super clean & cute environment as well!

AVOID GETTING TAKEOUT!! They missed my gluten free nan bread and my gluten free samosas. Their poor excuse was that they had a new person performing the packing. Maybe that person needs a bit better training. The kids platter was inedible and the chicken is hard as a rock. ALMOST 100 dollars worth of food here. WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!! I'll find another place that will appreciate my business.

STRAIGHT UP BUSSIN. 100% worth it! Everyone there is so sweet and the place there is just overall nice 😊. Would recommend their picnic balls as an appetizer and chicken tikka masala with Nan as the main dish 🍴

What a great lunch combo!! 1 entree, 2 sides, naan, salad AND a dessert. All for $15. Really enjoyed the veggie korma. Great atmosphere and service.

Likely the best Indian food I’ve had in the area. Their old fashion hits different with Indian spices in their bitters. I order the butter chicken hot for full flavor. It’s not overwhelmingly spicy and always really good. Thanks for dinner!

Some of the best Indian Food in Colorado. Great gluten free options and vegan options. The owners knows what they are doing. I really appreciate this place. Love the new space and rooftop area. Well done!

I have been coming to flavor of India for about a decade and with a few rare exceptions when they had shake-ups with the kitchen staff I've always been pleasantly pleased with the food that I got. I've only been here maybe three or four times for dinner, so the vast vast majority of my times were spent at the buffet line. But I've always been extremely happy with the food that I got. It's actually Indian food, it actually lives up to the spice level, not heat but just spice in general of regular Indian food, and the staff is really pretty cool. The woman who works there, she has a couple kids, and I think her husband is part of maybe the owner or something too, she's just so sweet and has been a staple of the downtown community and that restaurant for well over a decade. I love going in there just because they recognized me, they know who I am, and they always have great service. Somebody made a complaint one time that the non is like prepared or pre-packaged in Frozen Evan, but it's amazingand covered in butter and crispy and soft at the same time and I can just never get enough of it. It bring it right to your table hot as soon as you sit down from the buffet, and if you have any kind of trouble with it not being like enough or you need more or it's not coming quick enough if you just speak to the guy with the panther tattoo on his arm will usually hook you up pretty quick. I love this place I love these people, and I'm always happy to just rave rave rave about it. And then set the bar really high as far as some of the Indian food they serve, and I've even tried to mimic some of their dishes including their vegetable korma. I think I figured out the secret is just a bit of butternut squash to get the seat sweetness that it has, but it may also have a bit of coconut milk in it as well.

The staff was kind and it was a good experience. As an Indian I feel that some restaurants don’t match up to those expectations. I was very pleased with food. There were some small imperfection like a bit to much or to less of salt or less sugar in the kulfi. But Nonetheless it was still a good food.

Food was not good. Ordered veggie pakora and got some slices of potato and a few pieces of cauliflower. Samosas we're greasy with no crunch when I got the takeout home. I usually love Saag Paneer and some paneer pieces seemed off and we're gross. The place looked nice inside but the food was severely lacking when I grabbed takeout.

My 11 year old son and I stopped in here for lunch when we were out running errands on a Saturday morning. Most of our conversation was about how much flavor was in the food and what a difference it is to taste each ingredient - you could see that there were a lot of spices in the sauces. We loved the food and will bring the whole family back some time.

As I finished up my leftover korma from last night, I felt the need to leave a note for you all--Flavor of India is a must for anyone who loves truly hot AND still flavorful food. My husband and I have tried the hot and Indian hot versions of many dishes and have not been disappointed. The lunch special is perfect for expanding your palate. Dal and roti are one of my favorite combos and this is one of the few places around I can get both--and it's good!

Sometimes this restaurant is great. On my most recent visit, they seemed to mix up the spice levels: the “mild” dish was verging on hot while the medium dish was mild. Other than that, they were tasty. And it took close to 30 minutes to flag someone down for the check and then get it paid.

Best meal ever! THE BEST! Spectacularly seasoned lamb chops. Smiling service. Quiet music in the background did not drown out conversations and transported you to India. The roof top atmosphere was enchanting. Don't miss this great experience and great food.

I’ve sat in every part of the restaurant so far and can say the ambience is fabulous. I’ve had about 5 different dishes at this point and have repeated a few, and every time it is fantastic. My favorite Indian restaurant by far.

I was very surprised to get two entrees an appetizer and two different naan for less than $50, especially on the dinner menu. We've been looking for a new Indian place after moving here and haven't been disappointed with anywhere we've been, but the basmati rice here is definitely my favorite. The appetizer sampler and butter chicken was also absolutely delicious.

My absolute favorite Indian restaurant! I hate to say try their wings because they often run out, but they are 🔥! (Leave some for me!) The samosa chat is phenomenal as well! We often sit at the bar and talk with the owner while we enjoy our food. Great people, Great food!!

The place felt clean and we were greeted quickly and nicely. We ordered the veg samosa and they were nothing special, picnic balls were good, aloo saag and channa were good but nothing was particularly special but good. Still, score for the food would be about a 4. The person bringing us the food was friendly until it was time to pay. I tipped taking in mind that the credit card company would not be taking the percentage off the top. Also, do not tip with the tax included, that is not a service or a product. Overall 20% was met but the face I got paying with cash and saying I do not need change was not pleasant. The friendly face was no longer there. The look made me so uncomfortable I'll not be back. Expectations are too high these days involving tipping.

This place has been around forever. Finally decided to try while visiting family in town. Looking back at other reviews it's apparent something has changed. You have 1 option, a tray of food. A handful dishes and that's it. I came for food of India not cantaloupe or salad with ranch or balsamic dressing. Food was barely warm. Felt like i was back in elementary school. This place is on its way out sadly. Try somewhere else if you're in the mood for Indian food.

Amazing food. Unbeatable service. We love coming here. So many delicious choices on the menu. It is hard to decide but everything is always flavorful, perfectly prepared and comes in your choice of spice level. Many diverse vegetarian and vegan options, in addition to lots of appetizer offerings. The portions are generously sized, so arrive hungry! The service is consistently fast, professional and friendly. We have eaten here many times over the last 4 years and never have had a bad experience. Seems like they always have room for us to eat, never a wait. In the summer we love the roof top Owner is very friendly and really conscientious about a positive dining experience. I don't know how they make all that delicious food but, wow, you will not be disappointed if you come here. The restaurant is cozy, clean and has a very warm, welcoming vibe. Love the "old" building that is really perfectly suited for an Indian restaurant. Definitely check it out. You will be won over and will keep coming back. Thanks for being an awesome part of downtown Longmont/Boulder County!

I got the Sag Paneer and it was amazing. Their rice had something special going on. Rice isn't something I normally notice but theirs had a great flavor that complemented the main dish wonderfully. They also were very kind and included some mango custard free of charge. I would absolutely recommend eating here.

Best Indian food in CO! My hubby and I have searched for the perfect Indian buffet and the search stopped once we found them! They’ve helped us extend our paler and try new things. The staff is the most friendly, polite and attentive! Love our date nights here

I’ve only been to Flavor of India four or five times over a few years, but have always been glad I chose them. I make a point of ordering a different dish and meat (or lack of) every time, combined with an appetizer that adds another new taste. Put simply, I have loved everything every time. Yum! Oh, and the servers are always personable and efficient. What more can you ask for?

Flavor of India knocked it out of the park. Again. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Longmont. Every time I've gotten dinner here it's been outstanding. My current favorites dishes are the korma, jalfrizi and the masala. I reserve the right to find new favorites too my list.

I've never had a bad experience at Flavor of India! Whether I've placed an order for pickup or dined in, it's always been amazing. Just wanted to let you know that the sag paneer and chicken tikka masala that we ordered tonight were fabulous, as usual. I had never tried your chicken soup before tonight, but now that we've tasted it, this won't be the last time we order it! It was absolutely delicious! And thanks very much for the complimentary dessert, which was so appreciated. We wish you the very best in these hard times, and we'll do what we can to help you through it! Thanks again!

We have a really good first experience here. I’ve never tried Indian food before and was nervous to try something new but it was amazing. Really fresh ingredients and felt like the chefs in the back took their time and put their effort in the food. Service was great! Not sure what his name was but we ate here on a Thursday night and he was very attentive and nice which seems to be hard to get these days at restaurants. Me and my husband were really really impressed and we can’t wait to eat here again.

Amazing experience tonight! Came in to dine in but they were not sitting folks because of the horrible weather. They said you can have takeout and grab drink while you wait! So appreciated that option! It was perfect as always! My #1 Indian Restaurant by far!

Food was great, service was great. Unfortunately, the bar tender had a voice that carried over a half wall that told all about how she "hate(s) customers that stay for two hours and only order an appetizer" but "you're a really good tipper". Covertly told our server that she should probably keep it down, but were told that she was a manager. Pity. Owner responded politely and appropriately. Will be back to try again.

I went into the restaurant a few days before Mother's Day to inquire about ordering on this special day. Ordered on Mother's Day - Paid - 2 items I paid for were not in the order. My husband left his hot meal to go and pick up the two items. In this difficult time, where a lot of people are struggling especially, restaurants, I feel that the restaurant should take care to get it right. Nothing like opening the bag and finding items missing! Nearly ruined my special day. Been to this restaurant before & thought it was very expensive. Indian food in England, Hong Kong & New York is relatively inexpensive, But, the food was good so we splurged with $100 meal. NOT HAPPY and could've & should've been. My guess is the owners will never answer this post.

This is the 4th place I've tried in Longmont. I'd rank it 3rd out of the 4 in terms of taste. The atmosphere was nice... more date night/social than family. The waitress we had was super nice, sweetheart but she looked stressed & a little slow but I felt for her. She was working hard. The food was okay. We ordered saag paneer.. the saag was good but I've had better at other places in town. I don't fault it.. people just have different styles/ways of making it but the flavor was good and the paneer was amazing. My 4 year old devoured this dish. I also tried veggie korma bc people raved about it in the reviews here. Personally, I didn't like it. It was way too sweet for my taste. My 2 year old was obsessed and devoured it and actually ate his veggies so ultimately I was happy. Overall good experience... good food... pricier than other spots and not my favorite spot in town but it was GOOD.

I've eaten here probably a dozen times now. Mostly for the lunch buffet. It is always very delicious and fresh. And honestly, I eat every single dish they put on the buffet because they are all fantastic. Best saag I've ever had. Highly recommended

I love their staff and restaurant, as well as the option to pick up for a quick lunch or dinner after a long day. They are the best!!! I plan to picking up easily once a week moving forward for quality food and support local business. Amazing food for the soul.

Always satisfied. Gluten free nann! They have a dinner buffet! This place has quite tasty food with any type of indian dish you could imagine with several dlfferent spice levels to add to it. Lamb that falls apart and is not to tender to cocnut milk infused masala that adds a unique flavor not found in all places.

Terrible customer service. We ordered 2 chicken saags (and I heard my sister on the phone and she did say 2 chicken saags). They gave us one chicken saag and one chicken tiki masala and I called back to exchange it and the guy said “oh if this was my mistake then I’d change it but this wasn’t my mistake.” Very disappointed that they wouldn’t let us exchange this and wouldn’t own up to their mistake. Definitely not going back. Food was not good either.

Flavor of India is one of a couple Longmont restaurants we chose to support during the stay-at-home order. I’m so glad they’re open for carry out. Their lobby is set up for no contact, socially distanced order pick up; we ordered and paid online, then picked up our neatly packed dinner 15 min later. The chili chicken, veggie samosas, and saag paneer were excellent...my kind of comfort food!

We started eating at Flavor of India before they even had their liquor license, and it has invariably been a splendid experience. We have watched the family progress for these several years, and it's a real pleasure to have seen Dahman and Sukhi marry and reproduce into a nice happy family. If you think you can take it, ask for Dahman's hot sauce, but don't take more than a fork's tine dip worth for starts. We occasionally have a visit from a Virginian who really grooves on hot food, and we of course bring him to FoI. Sweat is rolling off his brow in short order, and he's a happy camper. The point to make here is that heat can make the well-spiced flavors cooked into the food taste even better. On the spectrum of mild/medium/hot/Indian-hot I have settled on hot, and FoI knows what they are doing, the heat level reliably repeats. It is really full-spectrum heat; Darcy has backed down to mild, and the flavor is sustained. FoI is definitely not a one-spice-fits-all Indian restaurant. The flavors are individual and very distinct from jalfrazzi to mahkini to tikka to bindi and all the way to the end, kulfi. I'd like a little more body to the kheer, but I'll say the flavor is great. Now if only FoI had licorice ice cream, I'd just be wholly satiated as I stagger out the door. As regular customers, when we walk in the front door, Dahman has the kitchen fire up our own favorite kulcha (I can say it, but I don't vouch for the spelling) and it shows up at our table before we even turn in our order. This food, too, is entirely reliable in its excellence. We have our favorite go-to selections from the menu, but occasionally we stray off into the exotic. The marinated lamb chops are spectacular! I asked our waiter one night what he thought of whatever it was I was thinking of ordering. "No," he said, "you should have the lamb chops." What a good call! It was an exceptionally good item to order, and I continue to order them on special occasion. I wouldn't say FoI is the least expensive eatery in downtown Longmont (you may figure that out for yourself by looking at the prices on the menu). I don't always want the minimally priced items, and for sure you are advised to give the chops a try when you want to impress someone (maybe just yourself?) with a marvelous fine dish. Richard Juday

Every restaurant has their off days, and I was unfortunate enough to go there during one of them for the lunch buffet. The service was friendly and attentive, however I found the food from the buffet somewhat lacking in flavour. The naan that I ordered was the best part of the meal, as well as the mango lassi. I have since returned with a few of my friends and greatly enjoyed the food. I will certainly recommend this establishment to anyone in Longmont that wants some good Indian food.

Went to this restaurant based on reviews. Unfortunately, the experience was mediocre, the waiter was rude, the food was stale and clearly kept from previous day considering we showed up early. I strictly don’t recommend it and would most definitely never ever go back there again!!!

A really sweet family-run restaurant. The buffet is a great way to try a bit of everything -my favorite is chicken curry, and the naan, and the gheer, and the saag, and the chai you get the picture-it’s all good? Long time fan of the food and the friendly staff.

Went here on my birthday with a friend. We ordered Samosas and they got to the table 2 minutes later. They were lukewarm, not fresh, as though they had been sitting out on a plate for an hour. Also ordered Roti and only got one piece which was also not fresh. Really bummed me out. I let the waitress know but she didn't take the items off our bill. Entrees were great though!
