This place is amazing, incredible flavor. I tried the rice first and knew right as I did that I was in for a real treat for the rest of the meal. When the rice is that good on its own, you know the rest is gonna be tasty. I met the chef, he's a passionate man who knows how to cook. Fresh flavors all across the board. I will definitely be coming back and telling everyone about it! Thank you Saffron South ?

It's hard to come by lots of variety in cultural cuisine where we live. We were fortunate to find this charm that serves Nepalese, Himalayan, and Indian specialties. Our array of dishes were nicely presented, freshly cooked, and super tasteful. The selections we chose didn't fall short. We loved and devoured their: Lamb biryani Jinga Angare Rosemary cheese naan These were also enjoyable to strike a hunger pang: Golden Manchurian Fried Golden Cauliflower Chicken Lollipop 3 mango lassi This was a great find in the beautiful area of Westlake Hills. Their space is quite large for family meals together, and good for the lunch crowd. The warm atmosphere was welcoming, as well as their service. We were satisfied about everything!

We just got several carry out dishes from Saffron, and they were fantastic! Every dish was delicious. The eggplant had a wonderful smoky flavor; the saag paneer was fresh and tasty; the dal was very flavorful; and the salmon in korma sauce was cooked perfectly. We have had a lot of Indian food over the years, and Saffron's food was some of the best. Go get some yourself and help them stay in business!

All the food is clearly labelled vegan or vegetarian and the waiter was very knowledgeable about which items had dairy in them, which was great since I’m lactose intolerant. The samosas were great and interesting since I havent had many samosas. The saffron goat was great, the goat itself was soft and tasty. The madras chicken was creamy and tasty. The briyani was decent - we got it without meat. Everything we ordered didnt have dairy except the briyani, but the waiter was able to hold the dairy on the briyani.

Great service and great food! This is one of our favorite work lunch spots. Before covid, they had a buffet, but when we stopped in for lunch recently we saw that it was menu and table service. Not to worry though, the food was excellent, if not better! Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. In fact I believe that I prefer the current setup. Buffets are great for quick meals, but can sometimes not showcase the food in it's best light. Our meals were hot and fresh and very ample. The portion sizes are great and the value is awesome! There are plenty of vegetarian options (in fact, an entire menu section is devoted to them) and they are clearly marked on the menu as vegetation. Check out the entire menu, though. There are some vegetation options hidden throughout. Will definitely be coming back for more!

Wow, this restaurant deserves a 200/10! It was absolutely amazing and food was delicious. The food was authentic indian food which I can say because I’m indian. I ordered -> lamb skewers, onion kulcha, tandoori roti, chicken biryani, and rice pudding. Everything was absolute perfection. The curry taste was mouth watering and the rice pudding was out of this world! The skewers were too good! The meat was cooked perfectly and it wasn’t too salty either. I highly recommend this restaurant! The customer service was even too perfect. They were so kind and understanding. I am pretty sure it was the owner and he gave us the rice keer for free. It was amazing! Thank you :)

This restaurant is such a wonderful gem! I had the most delicious meal of their chicken with tomato sauce and rice. The appetizer was like a dumpling filled with potatoes and peas with a homemade sauce of mint, jalapeño, pepper, cilantro, lemon juice, garlic and other yummies that was scrumptious. They went out of their way to make me so happy and make sure I was comfy and didn’t rush me at all. I can’t wait to return to this fabulous place! So delicious! A must stop while on this side of Austin, for unique and authentic food! Good people.

Fantastic food!! Good price and a buffet that is perfect for work lunch. I ate both and dinner time and lunch and both times was great. Dinner time has a nice date atmosphere while lunchtime was great and casual. Highly recommend!

30 mins of wait after ordering food and still the food was cold. One would expect at least warm if not steaming hot kababs. The nepalis lamb kabab were dry ( though the flavor was subtle and good), lamb chops were also dry. The only exception were momos which we enjoyed

Absolutely the best India Restaurant in Austin. I highly recommend this place. Mr. Deep and his crew’s customer service is superb. I tried multiple entrees and every single one is excellent. I travel long distances to get this food and the customer service. I’ve also tried the vegan and vegetarian entrees, they’re amazing too. THE BEST PERIOD!!!!! Okokok I’ll stop, but you really need to give this place a try, you will not regret it.

Nice Indian cuisine restaurant, no buffet due to covid but they have online ordering for pickup, and limited inside or outside dining. If you're there for lunch, be sure to find the lunch specials (on their web menu) where you can find delicious vegetarian, chicken, or lamb plates which include the entré, two sides, and a dessert for $10-$13. Full menu available.

Awesome service and great food! It can be tough to find consistently good Indian food in Austin, let alone Nepalese - you get options for both at Saffron South! Gobi Manchurian is a wonderful surprise - never think to order a cauliflower starter, but this one packs a punch of complex flavor! We ordered more than we could possibly eat (hooray for leftovers), but the mains that stood out to me from a flavor profile were the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Lamb Vibdaloo (yes, it’s just as hot as you’d expect). Recommend ordering a few options and attacking them tapas-style so that you can enjoy more variety. You really can’t go wrong with a lunch visit here b/c the restaurant is moderately busy, but still plenty of time for excellent service and attention from the staff. One call out: at Saffron South, you’re not here for the drinks, you’re here for the food, and that’s where I’d recommend putting your money. Delicious!

Ordered take out and the food was delicious. A bit oily, but very tasty. I ordered paneer tikka masala-medium spice (next time I’ll get hot), saag paneer, and garlic naan. I would order from here again.

Buffet is old refrigerated food as expected from any buffet providing restaurants. Chicken hard and rubbery. Dry Naan, simple not interesting deserts. You can eat a lot of food which might get you sick The review is just for the lunch buffet.

Went for lunch. They no longer have a buffet. The menu is extensive. The food was hot, spicy and quite delicious. You can customize your spice range, we opted for the sweat-inducing 8/10. If you like spicy hot, try the jalapeno naan.

Host was very accommodating even though we got there close to the closing. Food quality was great. I am very skeptical about Indian restaurants as most places claim to serve authentic recipes but all I find is a overly spiced fusion food in majority. Good Indian food does not equate to spicy food rather a perfect blend and balance of spice and flavor. Looking forward to trying their other items on the menu. Paneer tikka was well marinated very moist and flavorful.

Today was our visit here...and I can tell you it won't be our last. The samosas...so good! Our waitress was super helpful and we ended up with 3 amazing dishes. I think Lamb Rogan Josh is my new favorite. Do yourself a favor and eat here tonight!

Quite good Indian food. We shared two plates and the sauces were fantastic and seemed to have good spice punch. Naan was nicely thin and perfectly cooked. The chardonnay they carry by the glass could be switched to a smooth buttery one for a great upgrade.

Some of the best Naans and curries I've tasted anywhere! The chef's special Chili MOMO is absolutely delicious and a must-have. The staff there are amazing too. Pradeep has been a delight each time I visited the restaurant. Either dining in many months ago, or picking up my order these days, Pradeep always greets me with the brightest smile and is a great face for the restaurant! Always a pleasure dining/ordering from Saffron South!

Pick up was horrible on 5/4/20 ...I called in clearly for my order and after hard communication I was told 20 min .... I then arrived 30 min later to make sure it was an easy pick up ...... They gave me some one else’s food who arrived as I got in my car ..... they came out to retrieve food that I had breathed in and touched ..... and told me I called the wrong store .... After reminding them that I triple checked it was the bee caves store They had to rudely remake my order and I decided to give them a break and order an add on to let them clean this up and say no charge for that ..... They said you know owe $8 and it took 15 min

This place is amazing! My family and I went for dinner and we ordered tikka chicken and my husband had a lamb dish. We started off with cheese nan bread and samosas. The samosas were to die for and the sauces were full of flavor, especially the tikka sauce. We visited another day for the lunch buffet. There was so much to choose from. The buffet consisted of soup, salad, veggie dishes with sauce, three different chicken entrees, and dessert. They also have naan bread in the buffet. The place itself is clean and modern. Bathroom is always tidy. My son couldnt help but dance to the catchy music they play! Highly recommend.

Can't get enough of this place. Right amount of options for an Indian buffet. Food is always consistently great. They actually have the custard and fruit desert that I find hard to get at most Indian buffets. The stuff is delicious! Parking is decent, wait times are low and the service is always on point.

Sorry. Nope. This was an OK place, but something changed. I’m vegetarian, so my view is particular. Just visited the other day. It seems like the number of veggie dishes has decreased. One of the things I like about Indian cuisine is the clear separation between meat and veggie dishes on a buffet, but, honestly, chicken has no business being in saag. And no tamarind sauce? And no samosas? The dal was OK, but I’ve certainly had better. I don’t know, maybe it’s the fusion thing, but, no thanks.

My Chicken Tikki Masala was out of this world and a few of the appetizers that I can't pronounce were fantastic too. I didn't have any of the cauliflower appetizer but everyone who did said they were great. I'm not sure why this place wasn't more busy on a Friday night but it might be because it's in a strip mall and they do serve a lunch buffet so it may give the impression that it's cheap or 'quick' Indian food...but it definitely aint. Naan bread was the best I've had. The rice was perfect, and you could tell someone with talent put the dishes together with care. Ill be back for sure and soon.
