The best tour experience we had ever. The place was simply magical, the people managing are awesome, and the experience is "once in a lifetime" kind. We took 2 day 1 night package and we had a group of people ranging from 4 years to 55 years, this tour was comfortable and full of fun for all. It's a budget tour, and the visit is to the remotest of the places, so don't have a lot of expectations about facilities. Don't miss the night Safari and mud walk - the highlights of our trip. And finally thanks a lot to our tour operator Sunny, his service, care, explainations couldn't be better.

Tour de Sundarbans 3 days 2 nights leisurely package Payment is made in two tranches. The first is 2k per person as advance for booking and rest once you board the vehicle from Kolkata. Day 1. The vehicle was on time and took us to the destination fairly well. There was a slight wait for the boats at the Godkhali boarding point, boarded at approx 01:00 pm. lunch served at 1530, food was very tasty. Day 2. There's a boat safari and small walkup to dobanki observation tower. It's very beautiful and we could see various wildlife like storks, saltwater crocodile, many birds, monitor lizard and quite a few spotted and antlered deer. This day is the highlight of the trip. Breakfast and lunch was served on the boat and was again very tasty. Day 3. Day three is departure at about 9 am. You can use the time before that for leisure walks. Breakfast on the boat. Tldr, overall completely worth it. Food 5 ⭐, wildlife Safari 5 ⭐, ambience 5 star, accommodation and service 6 ⭐. Must visit totally recommended. Note:- the owner Mr Rajesh was excellent and even arranged an impromptu surprise birthday for one of our fellow travellers.

The journey from Kolkata to Sundarban was quite scenic and picturesque, although it did take a considerable amount of time, around 8-9 hours. The transportation involved traveling in a Tempu Traveller followed by a ferry ride. During the journey, meals including breakfast, lunch, and evening tea were provided, which was convenient. However, the overall journey was tiring, and a one-night stay seems to be sufficient. It's important to note that while tigers cannot be easily spotted, rare animals may be seen. Unfortunately, the sound of the ferries during the day can make it challenging to spot wildlife. One area that needs improvement is the quality of the food. Both on the ferry and at the Eco Village, the food was not up to expectations, being overly sweet and strange. On a positive note, the owner, Rajesh, and the ferry guide were entertaining and pleasant individuals. The rooms were spacious and equipped with a mosquito net. The return journey to Kolkata was even longer, taking approximately 10-11 hours due to low waves hindering the ferry's movement. This caused a delay as passengers had to wait for a local boat for about an hour before heading back. The system in place could use some improvements as the staff did not seem attentive or responsive to the passengers' needs, merely asking them to wait without offering much assistance. Also, another notable drawback was the inconvenience of obtaining hot water, as guests were required to wake up early and seek it from their room or the kitchen. Otherwise, bathing with cold water was the only option available. Additionally, during the return journey, no tea or refreshments were served despite the lateness of the hour, which was particularly disappointing and rude, especially when traveling with family and elderly parents.

I actually had high expectations before starting to this journey by reading the google reviews but 5 stars aren't enough to describe my experience it was so great a life time experience for me especially our guide who was more like a brother to us - Arif.. made this journey so wonderful and crazy. In a span of 2days I never even imagined I could enjoy this much .we were only 6 of us in our stint that's why we could enjoy this much .thank you backpackers for making my journey so wonderful and unforgettable , honorable mention the food was very very too good ad delicious let it be in the eco village or in the steam boat I would give a 100 for food 💓thank you for all this.

Our trip to Sundarbans was a lot more enjoyable and memorable than we had thought of. We started our journey on 25th November. We were greeted so cordially by Om ji and he made sure throughout our trip that we had no problem during our stay. The trip was very well planned and was full of fun filled activities. The stay at eco Village was a very different experience for us. Great variety and taste of food, made in the local way. Bonfire, Night Safari, mud walk and stargazing were the best part of our trip. If someone wants to experience the wilderness of the Sundarbans in a thrilling way, tour de sunderbans is the best tour operator to give you a lifetime experience.

The resort was excellent and the people were nice. The mudwalk and night safari were some big highlights.The quality of the food was great. Our only big complaint is the frequency and gap of food being served. There were a huge gap between the breakfast lunch and dinner. They should have been providing some snacks in between. At the day of the return, the journey started at 7 am. They only provided some biscuits at 10am in the morning and lunch at 1pm. Our journey ended at 9pm. No food was given after lunch and we were totally famished. There were no food shops, so we were not able to buy at our own expense also. I would like to request Mr Rajesh, the tour planner to increase the price of the 2 day tour from Rs. 4200 to Rs. 4500 and in turn increase the frequency of snacks. Otherwise with empty stomach its quite hard to enjoy.

We went to the Sundarbans with Tour de Sundarbans to escape the busyness of the city life. We got to spend 3 days, where the our feet was wrapped in soft clay and the roof of the sky glittered with hundreds of stars. The eco-resort was adorned with the simplest things in the most artistic way. We were honoured to meet the architect and the man responsible for this minimalistic beautification of the place. The tour was a full of exciting, adventurous and surprising activities. All the staff were very polite and welcoming.......We enjoyed a lot.

The trip to sunderbans is a wonderful option to explore the sunderbans area. I along with my wife did a 1 night two days tour with tour de sunderbans or backpackers (as they are referred). The tour was very well planned and has a lot of activities to give you the flavor of village life, experience the flora and fauna of sunderbans. The trip is a good value for money and they deliver on what is promised in the brochures.There are no hidden costs. The people of tour de sunderbans are very genuine and and will make sure they deliver to the expectations of the guests. Mr Om escorted us througout the trip and he was very warm and friendly. He is extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of Sunderbans and is jack of all trades who smoothly conducted the tour and made sure we did not miss even a single experience. The staff of eco Village are warm and friendly, the lady cook prepares delicious homely food. The stay at eco Mud huts is comfortable with tasty food and great hospitality. The music night with folk music was performed by extremely talented musicians from local gosava island. These people are extremely talented but lost in struggles of earning a decent living in the village. This tour is somehow giving them a platform to showcase themselves. The night boat safari was unforgettable, the walk in the slimy clay/mud was adventurous and fun, and do not miss the view and ambience of the watch tower at the resort. The forest safari was detailed and full day tour in big house boat with food being cooked and served on boat. We througouly enjoyed our boat ride. Our guide on boat Mr.Shanti was another wondeful person we met on this trip. He is extremly good in his work and very humble person who comes from local island village satjelia. There were some sigthings of lot of species of species of birds and some other wild life too - dolphins, Monitor Lizards, Deers, monkeys .. Overall, the trip was very comfortable and memorable.... thanks to Rajesh ji (owner) for organising the trip 🙏 overall 10 /10 ratings.

Trip to Sunderbans was made memorable, thanks to Tour De Sunderbans! Two of my friends and myself had an experience of a lifetime.. Our guide for the Trip - Mr Om cordially coordinated our pick up from the airport for an experience in a paddle boat, ferry and motor boat, there by landing in the Eco Village. The staff of eco Village are warm and friendly, with language being no barrier as they made our stay at eco Mud huts comfortable with tasty food and great hospitality. Mr Om - our guide is extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of Sunderbans, which helped us have a fruitful experience during our 2 day 1 night stay. The music night with bengal folk music and Anand Lahiri(instrument) was a great show put up by the talented locals. The night safari was unforgettable, the walk in the slimy clay/mud was adventurous and fun, and do not miss the view and ambience of the watch tower at the resort. The forest safari was detailed, though we went during the off season, we managed to locate quite a lot of birds(Drongo, sterling, Egret, Blue collared Kingfisher, Green bee eaters and storks) and some other wild life too - Horse show crab, Water snake, Monitor Lizard, Samba Deer, Yellow and Red Crabs too.. Overall, booking was fast and comfortable and the whole experience was well planned and executed. Excellent stay at the lap of nature within the pristine beauty. Eco village was nothing less than home, a one of a kind experience with the local employees tending after you. The guide was awesome....and they do conduct unique tourism experience. I had been there with other tour operators but nothing like them. Lastly, thanks to Rajesh for his warm approach. May it expands bigger.

My husband and I are from Holland. We were looking very much forward to seeing the Sunderbans. We paid 36000 roepia which is a lot of money for us. But for something very exceptional we were willing to pay. The trip was with pick-up and guide from our hotel in Kolkate and back. 3 days 2 nights with one boat tour ans one day stay to look around. My review is based on what we paid. When we entered we were pleasantly surprised. Its a beautiful place. But our hut was, small dark and basic with an attached bathroom. The delicious food we was promised was underwhelming and basic. And then also the food was always served much later than the acquired time Also with tea time. Forgotten or late. The boat had broken railings an uncomfortable hard benches. It is suppose to be a peacefully place but around 6 in the morning the villages played loud music over the speakers. And there many more things I don't want to elaborate on now. On the way back the price quality ratio stared nagging at me an I asked our guide what he thought we had paid for the trip. And his estimate was a more than a third less. It was our guide the staff and the people we met that made our trip and not the owner who dit not bother to welcome us or say good-bye. Herewith we can understand that maybe for unknown reasons at that moment the quality did not meet the promised advertising. So it would ne fair if you could provide us with an appropriate refund.

Grate place to visit with family and friends. The tour package is ossum and the Night Safary is a life time experience. Staff are so good and friendly. Hi All I had taken one night and two days trip to Sunderbans from Mr Rajesh in Nov 2022 and it was Awesome trip. Starting from pick up to drop they took care of us. Stay at Eco Village in organic huts was amazing, food and snacks were very good. Rajesh interacted with each member of the group and took feedback. I am sure it will further help him to attract more tourists. Reduction in charges for the child is one thing that can be looked into. Otherwise charges are economical.

Beautiful mad huts in a clean well maintained tourist village located in the Gosaba Island in the delta of the Ganges surrounded by mangrove forests. Getting there is an adventure on itself but the owner is very helpful. Offers good meals. The boat trip with the singing boatman was a spiritual experience.

Thanks to Rajesh , Om and team. From the pickup day to drop off point , Om was very helpful in guiding us the route to reach and other misc services like parking . As soon as we reached cottage , had a good welcome from Rajesh and showed us our cottage . Cottages are very good in the given conditions. One suggestion to owner is to provide mosquito coil but we had carried our own. Food was again great in Eco village and boat. Night songs and dance by locals are good. Night safari was good. Water safari on next day morning was also good. Overall , happy with given cost. Thanks team

The Eco village has been visted by us post Covid on 12/11 to 14/11. Though the entire Sunderbans and part of the eco village was hit by amphan the tour I think is the best in Sunderban We were well taken care by Mr Om our guide he looked after all our meals which were delicious including the ones cooked on the board. Backpackers Tour de Sundarbans is AMAZING! We had a great experience. Sundarbans is a very beautiful place and we are really glad that we went with Tour de Sundarbans. The eco village is an innovative idea. It is very well-maintained. We loved the way it was planned, taking care of all details. The rooms are clean and spacious, food is delicious and the people are friendly. The tour operators have put in a lot of thought and effort to make sure that we have a pleasant stay and get to enjoy the beauty of Sundarbans. Details about our trip: 1. On day 1, we left from Kolkata at 8 a.m. and reached the eco village at around 1 p.m. After a scrumptious lunch at the eco village, we relaxed for a while and then went for a tour of the village. We learnt about the history of the place, the life of the locals and their culture. After that, we got on our boat and explored the nearby area. We saw a lot of crabs. The mangrove forests are beautiful and just being there made us feel calm and content. After our boat ride, we went back to the eco village where we had tea and snacks. Later on, there was a performance by local musicians. We played the instruments and sang along. It was fun! The dinner was delicious too. After this, we went for a boat ride at night (this was optional), which was an adventure. We saw planktons. It was quiet and pleasant. The boat ride under the starry sky, with water and mangrove forests all around us and the sound of the water hitting the boat paddles.. It is an experience that I'll never forget. After this, we returned to the eco village and went to sleep. 2. On day 2, we left at around 6 a.m. This time, we were on a bigger boat. After getting permits for entry to the forest, we went to the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve. During our visit, we saw many animals including white crocodile, Irrawaddy dolphin, spotted deer, wild boar, kingfishers and many more. Sadly, we couldn't see the Royal Bengal tiger. Breakfast, lunch and tea were served on the boat. Our tour guide, Om Prakash Shaw, was very helpful and friendly. We had an official guide from the forest department as well on the 2nd day during our visit to the jungle. We left for Kolkata around 2 or 3 p.m. and reached by 8:30 p.m. We had a great time on our trip with Backpackers Tour de Sundarbans and would definitely recommend it to others who want to have an enjoyable trip to Sundarbans!

What a wonderful experience with our tour leader (Keith Darryl Marazzi). food On the boat & island the were wholesome and delicious. There was free time on island that allowed for exploring or sitting round watching island & The accommodation on island was more than adequate with rooms having attached bathrooms . There was ample deck space to walk, reading or talking. The staff on the island were lovely and attentive. Excellent.

Date of travel- 30.12.2021 This is the first time me and my friend planned for Sundarbans. After lots of searching we decided to go with Tour de Sundarbans and yes undoubtedly took the right decision. We stayed in traditional mud hut, did jungle safari by launch at day time to spot wild animals and night safari by small fishing boat to see the beautiful bioluminescent planktons and enjoy the mesmerizing view of night sky.. They served delicious food prepared by local people. Rajesh , the guide Om ji and their team at eco village made this 3days 2night's trip more amazing. The hospitality received from them is unparalleled. Surely we'll visit again.

I think i am a kind of traveller who is greedy to see and experience every bit of my trip so i feel sundarban was very calm and exciting at the same time . Ideal for family holidays, friends . The food was good, the people were so welcoming and you can surely feel the warmth . Everything was good specially the local people ! Specially i would mention - Commando ( dhruv) as everyone was calling him . Our guide also- Keith ( very talkative) and entertaining. So go to sundarban and enjoy the amazing stay there. A great place to escape the daily mundane of life into the Nature. Great stay and tour experience ,got to see many wild animals also the salt water crocodile. Sadly couldn't see the enigmatic GBT🙂 Staffs are jolly good and over extend their service by providing a very personal and friendly environment. Spl mention: The owner Mr Rajesh is a very helping and benevolent person and takes personal care for the needs of a guest thus changing the service experience into service delight.5 stars Also our tour leader Om Bhaia is very devoted and works day and night to create the ultimate guest experience. Great Short-Trip. We had a relaxing time in the Sunderbans. The eco-village was gorgeous and super clean and the food was amazingly good. For the boat tour it is recommended to take something to read, as it can take a very long time to reach deeper into the forest and to spot animals. We were able to see a Tiger, a crocodile, a wild big, a deer and plenty of birds. AJ was a great guide and we enjoyed the tour very much. You can leave some luggage at the pick up pint in Kolkata, however, I would recommend to not leave any valuables, because it seemed like no one was monitoring the back-room where it was left. But ofc we got everything back as we left it. 5 stars, the tour was definitely worth the money and effort!

I personally found this tour more than excellent. Logistics to reach sunderbans are quite tricky, difficult to self-organise if you are not from the area. The team coordinated the transport impeccably, even when one of the vehicles had a technical issue, they substituted it promptly, sent messages to apologise and re-organised the schedule ensuring everyone was comfortable with it. I highly discourage to do a one-day only tour - it is quite a journey. Ajal was a brilliant tour guide, clearly experienced in spotting animals and how to find them. We saw the tiger!! However, it is rather exceptional, do not come with high hopes - you will see surely other animals. The landscape is very beautiful and peaceful, I would have been happy when without the tiger. The lodges were simple yet comfortable, no hot water but honestly you will not miss it - it's quite hot. Good food and snacks provided at any time of the day, except on the trip back.

One of the best backpacking organizers whom I found. Their knowledge with the jungle is awesome. The swim in the pond, the boat safari and many more things are mesmerizing. Good for solo, couple and as well as groups. A very well maintained property and very well scheduled tour.

Me and my sister did a One Day & Two Night Tour of the Sundarbans with them and it was a superb and unforgettable experience. Our Guide 'Mr.Ajay' was super friendly, helpful, funny and nice. Me and my older sister did the tour and at no point did we feel uncomfortable or unsafe with them (the other guests accompanying us were male too). Tour de Sundarban was the only one who were conducting tours in May (off season) and although we did not spot a tiger, we saw other wildlife and had such a lovely relaxing time! The food was authentic and traditional Bengali and SO DELICIOUS! I LOVED IT! The transport used was also authentic and true 'backpacker' style (Multiple Ferries and Tuk Tuk Rides). Our room was very comfortable, clean and pleasant. Cheers to Mr Ajay for being such a wonderful guide. It was a real pleasure meeting him and I hope to do another tour with them soon. I would highly recommend Tour de Sundarbans to anyone who wants a positive and unforgettable experience of a lifetime. Well worth your money!

Jaw dropping experience!!! I have not expected that much, but I got total value of money, in terms of great experience, fun and adventure. It all started from their tiny and very nice office in Kolkata on tottee lane. They were very punctual and describe each and everything well in advance very clearly. Our guide was Om who made sure our whole trip a gr8 one. We crossed islands, via 2 ferries, on walk, on rickshaw- which was lot of fun , to reach to eco village. The whole eco village was way more beautiful than it appears in the pictures. It was rainy that day so could not explore each and every corner better, but even though, me and my son did it the best we could. Food was very nice, local people made it all and it was yum. Didi’s who serve us the food are very nice and we all chat a bit. Whole environment was very nice. There was also a nice program of local singers and musicians took place. Next day we went to sundarbans whole day cruise, weather was perfect, will share some pics with this too, we all enjoyed a lot. We were 3 families, 7 people in total, strangers to each other, but all people are very friendly and we had gr8 fun. We didnot spot tiger but saw spotted dears, lizards, crocodiles and many birds. One of my best trips. It was definitely better than I had hoped. Didn't see any 🐅, but I didn't expect to anyway. I call it my digital detox retreat too, have fun with humans, as mobile internet doesn't work all the time.

I visited their eco-village, and totally loved it. The food their was the best that I had in Kolkata. The whole tour was very well planned. The accommodation was also really good.. very high then my expectations. Rajesh has indeed done a splendid job in setting up the whole set-up. There’s a hidden cost and there’s a middle man who works for them, the package is sold with brushed words which shines on phone only, once you reach the offer and service provided is different. They take you to specified location only and your ask or request to halt or turn is neglected. The food offered is the only best thing happened.

very good place ,well decorated. behaviour was good. But food quality was not worth it according to trip cost and services was very poor, every think was ever slow. They provide us a damaged bus when they going to drop us in science City its taken 4 hr extra. do not go for beautiful decoration.

Lovely places

Traveled which backpackers for 1 night and 2 days. Reaching Eco Village was little hectic. Tempo Traveller - walk - boat - walk- auto -boat - Eco Village. Huff so many means of transport to reach. Eco Village was good. But the place can be much more greener than it is .Rooms were good and neat. Village walk with Mr Om,our guide was soothing. Boat ride in tunnel of trees was superb with a mud walk which was insisted by Mr Om and was an amazing experience. Night boat ride was simply out of the box..Loved it. But pple addicted to tea/ coffee , restrict urself from going with them as they serve only black tea, so ur day might get ruined with headache without regular tea. Inspite of they being there We didn't know who Rajesh and Mowgli are we could connect only with one person that was Mr Om who was very cooperative. The next day we started our Sundarban tour in their ferry which was in bad condition. The seats of the ferry were broken and falling down. On the whole it was an average experience. We could see 1 crocodile 2 spotted deer and 2 Birds in 9 hours of ferry journey.

Excellent service and organisation. Lovely guide and people. Excellent food. Very cold in January though. Better to do this tour in Spring or Autumn. Very good home made food. The eco village is very pretty but no hot water nor AC. The boat tour is a little long. It would be better to shorten the boat ride and do a little more village tours to see how the people live in the Sunderbarns. Despute all these little details I highly recommend this agency and tour

After evaluating few tour operators I decided to go with Backpackers as they offered me a good deal being a solo traveler and their tour dates most suited my itinerary. Rajesh who mostly handles the bookings and clients explained me about the tour and answered my questions patiently although I was giving them business of only one person. That impressed me. And my tour co-ordinator was Om Prakash. He is a gem of a person and trust he you are in good hands when you get a coordinator like him. He is always there for his group and will try to do his best to give worthy experience in Sundarbans. And you will also meet Mowgli (founder partner) in the Eco village where you stay. Look forward for a fireside conversation with him.

We did the two night package in December 2019. Company is very professional and well organized. We had a great group of 14 people from all around the world. We were on their flagship boat, Elmar, and possibly the nicest boat on the river with very comfortable seating. They also provide a Forest Office professional guide for the 10 hour safari through the Sunderban. The Eco Village was fantastic. Lots of good food, traditional music players both nights, night ride in small boat, bonfire with a chance for great conversations. The morning village walk really gave a good exposure to normal village life. Tour De Sunderban is doing a great service for both Tourists and Locals. It is not an easy job and they really are working hard to build a great business. Not many companies make an effort like this to treat their guests with kindness, fairness and respect. Really great Value. Thank you. Finally, our guide was Sonhu. What a great person. Informative, has a great manner with all different types of people, patient and always quick with a smile. Highly recommended.

Very nice people to do Sundarban tour. All staff very courteous and friendly. Food was simply but awesome.. Carry mosquito repellent.. The only issue faced was getting in & out of ferry boats. But that's the only way to reach Sundarbans..

This tour company is simply awesome. I (female) traveled to Sunderban during mid-February, 2022 with my specially-abled younger sister and my cousin sister. We booked a 2-night 3-day tour with them. I had an amazing experience. The transport was comfortable, the food was delicious (local food and freshly cooked). The serenity and cleanliness of the eco village won our hearts. We stayed in the premium houses, but the organic mud houses were great as well. Our tour guide (nicknamed as Commando) was very helpful and friendly, and he knew almost everything about the forest, the people and the animals and birds of Sunderban. We felt extremely safe and satisfied during our entire trip. Every need was taken care of by the organizer. I want to thank Rajesh Da for this unforgettable experience. Don't give a second thought, just book with them. You will surely enjoy every bit of the trip.

I am glad that I went with them to the Sundarbans. It is very budget friendly. Rajesh is a genuine guy running the tour packages. I paid INR 5500 for the 2N3D package and then extended another day for being lazy for 1500. The sleep was very relaxing. Mosquito nets are provided. My travel dates were in the month of December which probably is the best time to visit. In summers it would be hot. But Rajesh will have A/C cottages in the future, so you are covered all year round. The food is good, including vegetarians. The fish is excellent. The day you arrive you have a bonfire evening which is great for meeting other tourists. The next whole day is boat safari. The drop-off does consist of changing from small boats to autos which I think can be improved. His packages are for the young and old. Rajesh's team is always willing to give a helping hand. I did loose my mobile on the 3rd day but I found it back. I am thankful to everyone who helped get it back. The other tourists' who spoke to the locals as well as Rajesh's contacts. A big shout out to sunny who drove us from Kolkata, and Sheru who drove us back to Kolkata. Thank you for dropping me next to my car. The rolls were good. Our guide was Keith and he is a relaxed individual and very professional. Thank you for that special afternoon ride. It was great going around the village. The whole trip was a pleasant surprise.
