Masjid E Ala or Tipu Sultan Masjid is one of beautiful architecture of Tipu Sultan era. This beautiful architecture has made by Tipu himself in around 1784AD. It is a two floored building with a big prayer hall inside. Persian letters engraved on its inside wall make it more beautiful. Till today the Masjid runs under Tipu Sultan masjid trust and its quite well maintained do visit if you want to explore Srirangapatna.

The Tipu Sultan Masjid Kolkata The Tipu Sultan Shahi Mosque (also known as Tipu Sultan Masjid) is a famous mosque in Kolkata, India named after Tipu Sultan the ruler of Mysore. Located at 185 Dhartamtalla Street, the mosque is a relic of architectural and cultural heritage. This building was built in 1842 by Prince Ghulam Mohammed, the youngest son of Tipu Sultan. An identical mosque, which was earlier built in 1835 by him is at Tollygunge. The Ghulam Mohammed Wakf Estate manages the two mosques now. At first, Ghulam Mohammed used his own money to purchase a land in the central area of Calcutta and Built this mosque in 1842, in memory of his father Tipu Sultan. A news was also published on the occasion of the purchase. This mosque is a relic of the architectural and cultural heritage of Kolkata. In early 80's Tipu Sultan Masjid was damaged due to constructions works of Metro Railway in the Esplanade area. The move was regarded as a highly communal stand of the state govt. Nonetheless, after that, fearing backlash, a committee was formed to repair the mosque. Afterwards, the Mosque was restored with the joint effort of Tipu Sultan Shahi Masjid Protection & Welfare Committee and the Metro Railway.

The Tipu Sultan Masjid, also known as the Tipu Sultan Mosque, is a historic mosque located in Bangalore, India. It was built by Sultan Tipu, also known as the Tiger of Mysore, in the late 18th century. The mosque is a beautiful example of Indo-Islamic architecture, featuring ornate minarets, domes, and intricate artwork. One of the mosque's notable features is its twin minarets, which have a distinctive octagonal shape. Inside, the prayer hall is spacious and well-maintained, providing a serene place for worship. The Tipu Sultan Masjid is not only a place of religious significance but also holds historical importance due to its association with Tipu Sultan, who played a significant role in the region's history. It stands as a testament to the rich heritage of the area and attracts visitors interested in history and architecture. It's most beautiful looking in Kolkata.

Tipu Sultan Masjid is one of the oldest mosques in Kolkata, and it’s a must-see for anyone visiting the city. It was built in 1784 by Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore, and it’s a beautiful example of Islamic architecture. The mosque is located on Canning Street in central Kolkata, and it’s open to visitors from 9am to 5pm every day. The mosque is incredibly well-preserved, with intricate carvings on the walls and ceilings. It’s also quite large – it can accommodate up to 3,000 worshippers at once. If you visit during prayer times (between 12pm and 2pm), you can watch the worshippers praying inside. Tipu Sultan Masjid is definitely worth a visit if you want to learn more about Islam or see some beautiful Indian architecture.

People who live inside that masjid are very rude and arrogant. Donno for what reason but they will disgust and treat you in a different manner if you are willing to stay there for more than 20 minutes. Still I will give it one star bcoz its a religious place..the problem is with the people who live in there..

Good architecture located at Esplanade junction. The approach to the masjid is very much crowded. The mosque boost of Anglo-Persian architecture and is coloured accurately. It is located near the Esplanade metro station. A good place to visit. The area is a cultural hostspot and one needs to visit this area with a lot of time to absorb in the light of this area. Wonderful spot for a heritage walk.

Tipu Sultan Mosque is among the oldest magnificent mosques of all times. Construction of this capacious mosque ended in 1842, and the place of worship has a staggering capacity of 1000. Prince Ghulam Mohammed is the man behind the breathtaking design of the Tipu Sultan mosque. Unknown to many, Prince Ghulam was the youngest child of Mr. Tipu Sultan. Despite the fact that this mosque is more than 150 years old, it’s still a huge source of history and heritage. As per the structure of any other mosque, the Tipu Sultan Mosque also has 4 minarets on four corners. In the middle are 16 domes that are painted in green color. Due to the color of the mosque, as well as the intricate carvings, one can spot it from a good distance. Location: 185, Lenin Sarani Rd, Esplanade, Chandni Chawk, Bowbazar, Kolkata, West Bengal 700013. Price: The entry fee is required to gain access into the Tipu Sultan Mosque. Timing: 4:00PM to 6:00PM, evening. Best Time to Visit: 8:00 am to 11:00 am.

One of the well known heritage sites of central Calcutta Tipu sultan masjid serves as a place of worship, a landmark building, a great example of eastern architecture and being in one of the most popular areas ok kolkata to have great food as well as utilities to buy. Situated just at the Esplanade mansions, lenin sarani crossing, the place has been an enthralling place for years now. Coming from south one can get down at KC Das and visit it, while coming from North one can land at Victoria house i.e. the CESC building and walk towards KC Das to visit it.

I recently visited Tipu Sultana Masjid and was very impressed with its architecture. The design and layout of the mosque are visually stunning, and it provides a peaceful atmosphere for prayer and contemplation. Additionally, I had the opportunity to attend an iftar event during Ramadan, and I must say that it was a fantastic experience. The arrangements for the iftar were impeccable, and the food was delicious. The community spirit and hospitality of the mosque were truly heartwarming.

One of the first things that struck me about the Tipu Sultan Mosque was its remarkable architecture. The mosque showcases a beautiful blend of Mughal and Islamic styles, which is evident in its intricate designs, domes, and minarets. The white marble facade and the imposing structure make it a visually stunning sight. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are truly commendable, and it is clear that a great deal of thought and skill went into its construction.
