This temple, built in the whole of South Indian (Tamil) style, is located near Girish Park, next to the broken fly-over, Punta Kali temple. The temple is known as Sri Vaikunt... (Translated by Google) Today, we will talk about a temple which, at first sight, would not believe that any such temple is in the chest of Kolkata. This temple, built in the whole of South Indian (Tamil) style, is located near Girish Park, next to the broken fly-over, Punta Kali temple. The temple is known as Sri Vaikuntha. The name of the temple. The huge gopuram will catch everyone's attention by the side of the road. There are numerous idols in Gopuram, Ram Sita, Ramayana view, B The story of Vishnu, the gatekeeper, Bhagavat is all over Gopuram. If you enter the outer shoe room with a free shoe, then you can see the huge lounge and the temple in front. There are two stone elephants on each side. Up the stairs, the numerous temples with dramatic temples. At the end of the temple are the wombs. The quadrilateral Narayan seated on the Anantnag sitting in the womb. The conch, the chakra Narayan, with one hand at the waist, and the other with one hand sitting on the knee. Srinivas and Bhudevi, Sridevi. Besides, Ram Sita, Kalimardan Krishna also have their divisions. Vogamurti is repeated on various occasions, spinned and rotated. Dwarapal Jai Vijay idol is on both sides of the entrance to the womb. Then, to enter and rotate the womb, boys have to enter after dhoti and women's saree. Inside the womb there are two separate chambers, mother Lakshmi, and Andal. They cannot be seen from outside, must enter the womb. The worshipers in the temple are all dressed in dhoti, and the upper caste is uncovered. Srivastava Tilak on the forehead. The priests are characterized by the devotees and give the heat of Aarti. The atmosphere of the temple complex is very beautiful. Hopefully everyone will like this temple. Very unknown place at heart of Kolkata at Jorashanko very nearer to Girish Park metro station. South Indian art sculpture is very much prominent all over the temple starting from main gate to inside temple premises. Lord Vishnu built by black kasti pathar is main deity with Laksmi devi in two different names at two sides. Parking of your car adjacent at two sides of road is very easy. At afternoon temple opens sharp at 4.15 pm.

Vaikunthanathar Kovil is a South Indian Temple situated in Jorasanko, near Girish park in Central Kolkata. It is locally known as the Baikuntha temple is a beautiful South Indian temple and is known for its distinct architecture with white marbles and beautiful pillars. It is known for its distinct South Indian architecture. The Dravidian Gopuram is not a common feature of temples in West Bengal. It was completed in 1960. The temple is open from 5 am to 11 am and again from 4:30 to 8:30 pm. The temple sanctum sanctorum has a stone image of Lord Baikuntha with two consorts Sridevi and Budevi on either side.

Photos are not allowed to click. You can’t take photos of the Idols. Male and Female shoes counter are in different sides of the temple. You can pay for your shoes in the individual counters, although that is not mandatory. You will definitely find peace in the temple. Lord Tirupati lives here, so don’t forget to seek your blessings, if you are near this area. 🙏đŸŧ🕉ī¸

Recently, I had the privilege of visiting the serene and spiritually uplifting Shri Bainkunthanath Temple in Kolkata, India. Tucked away in a peaceful corner of the city, this sacred place of worship offers a refuge from the bustling urban life, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in devotion and experience a profound sense of tranquility. In this review, I will share my enchanting experience exploring the temple, witnessing its rituals, and connecting with the spiritual essence that permeates its surroundings. 1. Serene Ambiance: As I approached the Shri Bainkunthanath Temple, I was instantly captivated by its serene ambiance. The temple's architecture exudes a sense of grace and tranquility, with its beautifully carved pillars, intricate designs, and vibrant colors. The atmosphere within the temple is peaceful, fostering a meditative environment that invites visitors to reflect and find solace amidst the chaos of the outside world. 2. Spiritual Significance: Shri Bainkunthanath Temple holds immense spiritual significance for devotees. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is a place of devotion and reverence. The sanctum sanctorum, adorned with floral decorations and illuminated with soft incandescent lighting, creates an ethereal aura that heightens the spiritual experience. Observing devotees immersed in prayer, their faces glowing with devotion, was a humbling sight that reinforced the temple's importance as a center for spiritual communion. 3. Rituals and Offerings: During my visit, I had the opportunity to witness the temple's rituals and participate in the offering of prayers. The melodious chants and rhythmic ringing of bells created an enchanting atmosphere, infusing the air with a sense of divine energy. The priests, adorned in traditional attire, conducted the rituals with utmost devotion, guiding the worshippers in their spiritual journey. The opportunity to offer flowers and light incense before the deity added a personal touch, fostering a profound sense of connection and surrender. 4. Community and Festivities: Shri Bainkunthanath Temple serves as a hub for community engagement and celebration. The temple hosts various religious festivals and cultural events throughout the year, bringing devotees together to celebrate their shared faith and cultural heritage. These festivities offer a glimpse into the vibrant traditions of Kolkata and create a joyful atmosphere that is contagious to all who participate. 5. Welcoming Hospitality: The warmth and hospitality extended by the temple staff and fellow devotees were truly remarkable. The volunteers were eager to share their knowledge, answer questions, and provide guidance to visitors. Whether it was explaining the significance of a ritual or sharing stories from mythology, their passion for the temple and its teachings was evident, making the visit even more enriching. Conclusion: A visit to the Shri Bainkunthanath Temple is an invitation to embark on a spiritual journey, a chance to find solace and connect with a higher power. The temple's tranquil ambiance, spiritual significance, and welcoming atmosphere create an environment conducive to introspection and prayer. Whether you are seeking spiritual solace, cultural immersion, or a moment of respite from the chaos of everyday life, Shri Bainkunthanath Temple in Kolkata is a divine retreat that will leave you with a renewed sense of peace and serenity.

Ladies be careful if u don't wear 'Sari' priests will not allow to go inside the main temple. Then only you'll get a chance to darshan of God from threshold. So make sure yourself if u don't wear saari before visit this temple. Some priests behavior is very bad on ladies regarding this. Otherwise very calm atmosphere inside of this temple.

Wonderful temple of Lord Venkateswara swamy in Kolkata.

  • 5/5 Akshay J. 1 year ago on Google
One of the oldest temples of Venkateshwar. It is near Ganesh Talkies and Girish Park on the main road. It is a big temple with Govinda as the main deity. We used to go there as a kid and remember it as one of the biggest temples back then since there are only a few big temples in East India like those in South India. This is a South Indian style temple and although the maintenance is not that much but it is peaceful. There is Phute Kali temple nearby, the deity of which is very very beautiful. Hare Krishna 🙏

Best place to calm yourself. A proper South Indian vibe. This pujari never asks for money or anything like other places. Prasad distributes at 8:30 Walking distance from Girish Park Metro station. And if you are visiting here Jorasanko Thakurbari is also 5 minutes walking distance.
