The Adyapith Temple (white marble) was built in the year 1967, however the temple was founded by Shri Annada Thakur in the year 1915. The present temple is made of white marble and three temple nestled inside one another. It implies the unity of all aspects of Hindu faith alongwith the unity of all religions towards a common goal - Humanity's Realisation of God. The Trident of Shiva, the Moon and Star, the Cross and the Hand fan are there in spire of the temple. These are the symbol of Hinduism, Islamic, Christianity and Buddhists. It has three altars like stairs, on the bottom the idol of Sri Ramakrishna, on the middle the idol of Adya Ma and on the top altars the murty of Radha- Krishna are worshipped. It implies God is One. The pilgrims can't enter by the temple but view the deities from the Natmandir. The Temple is open for very little period : from 4:30 am to 5:00 am, from 10:30 am to 11 am and again from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm (except special holy tithi and days) Bhog is available with a Coupon price of Rs.50 per head. Location: Ariadaha. Nearest Railway and Metro Station is Dakshineswar after that take a auto/toto to reach there.

Holy Shrine of Maa Adya, good place to have prasad for lunch with a nominal fee of Rs. 50 before 1pm It is unusual indeed to find a single temple combining the worship of Kali (in the form of Adya Maa) and Radha-Krishna, deities that are usually worshipped by two different sects of Hindus. Once again, however, the Adyapeath temple erases the boundaries of sect or creed, revealing that God is One. The temple is constructed in such a way that the altar is clearly visible in its entirety whenever the doors are opened. Thousands of pilgrims and visitors assemble daily to worship, pray, experience darshan, and receive prasadam. Religious songs and discourses are held every day in the nearby Natmandir (music hall). Adyapeath is considered one of the holiest of holy places not only in West Bengal but far beyond its border.

Located in Dakshineswar, Kolkata, in proximity to Dakshineswar Kali Temple, Adyapith is another Hindu Temple which was built in 1967. It was originally founded back in 1915 by the followers of Annada Charan Bhattacharya - a great devotee of Maa Kali and Sri Ramkrishna. Adya Maa being a Divine form of Maa Kali the temple has great religious significance. The main altar of the temple is having three sub-altars. The bottom is having the statue of Sri Ramkrishna, the middle is having Maa Adya and the top altar displays Radha and Krishna.Thousands of visitors thronging in every day to offer prayer. I visited the temple on 7th march 2021 for the second time.Very near to Dakshineswar temple is Adyapith, a pilgrim centre, the temple of Adya Ma. Sree Annada Thakur being advised in a dream had built this temple of Adya Ma in order to teach man the dictums of love and idealism. The construction was started in 1340 BS and the temple was inaugurated on Makar Sankranti day (last day of Bengali calendar month Poush) in 1375 BS.This three-peaked temple was built in three steps. On the 1st step is Sree Ramakrishna in a sitting position, Guru (teacher) is written on the altar; at the second step-which is found in the pond of Eden Garden is Shiva in the yogic Padmasana, with an astadhatu (eight metals) image of the goddess on his chest-all this in the likeness of Adya Ma, on the dias is written knowledge and work; on the 3rd step, the twin idols of Radha-Krishna, love is written on the altar. One hour before sunrise Mangalarati i.e. worshipping starts, at 10-30 is Bhogarati i.e. worshipping with Bhog food for the deity, 1.5 hours after sunset is Sitalarati. The temple is open between Mangalarati and 12-00 and again from 15-00 to Sitalarati, 52 day in a year. On other days one can have a view of the deity from a front stage (Darshan Mandap) more during worshipping. Besides these days doors are closed and Darshan is prohibited. During lunch break devotees get Annaprasad against Pranami.

Dream visitations from Sri Ramakrishna also continued. He offered Annada moksha, but Annada, confronted by a vision of thousands of his suffering fellow humans, responded, “I do not care for liberation. I would rather go through a hundred thousand hells doing good to others: This is my religion.” In 1919, Sri Ramakrishna revealed what Annada’s life’s work was to be: the establishment of a temple to the Divine Mother Adya Ma. The temple was to be in reality three temples enveloping one another: the first to Sri Ramakrishna, the second to Adya Ma, and the third to Krishna and Radha. The altar was to be three altars built like large stairsteps: Ramakrishna on the bottom, Adya Ma in the middle, and Krishna and Radha on the top, encircled by the sacred syllable om. In conjunction with the temple, there were to be separate ashrams for men and women, boys’ and girls’ orphanages and schools, a free clinic to prevent the spread of contagious disease, and distribution of food and clothing to the poor. At Sri Ramakrishna’s behest, Annada Thakur spent a year with his parents in Raujan, in what is now Bangladesh, and then returned to Calcutta and carried out spiritual practices for a year on the bank of the Ganges. Then, on January 14, 1921, a celebration was held, which is still celebrated at the temple as Siddhotsab. The same year a committee was formed for the establishment of the Dakshineswar Ramakrishna Sangha. In early 1927, the Sangha acquired a piece of land with some adjoining old Shiva temples, and on January 31, 1928, Annada Thakur broke ground for the temple on a compound of nearly 14 acres. Having seen his dreams begin to bear fruit, Annada died in January, 1929, at the age of 38, of a lung infection. Before his death, however, he wrote his remarkable story in the Bengali book Swapna-Jeevana, later translated into English as A Life of Visions. The dream of the temple lived on through the work of a group of devotees. The Shiva temples were restored, the girls’ school was built in 1942, and the boys’ orphanage was completed in 1951. The free clinic moved to a new building on the temple grounds in 1959. The temple itself, built of pure white marble, was completed in a number of phases and consecrated on January 14, 1967. Sri Ramakrishna had predicted that after the establishment of this temple, there would be a new religious stir in the country, starting in Bengal. At least three devotees each year, he said, would receive a direct vision of God in this temple and would dedicate their lives for the welfare of the world. Today, hundreds of pilgrims and devotees visit the temple daily, and its charitable outreach serves many hundreds of needy. Mandir Address Dakshineswar Ramkrishna Sangha Adyapeath, 50, D.D. Adyapeath was built in 1967. It was originally founded back in 1915 by the followers of Annada Charan Bhattacharya – a great devotee of Maa Kali and Sri Ramkrishna... Adya Maa being a Divine form of Maa Kali the temple has great religious significance... The main altar of the temple is having three sub-altars. The bottom is having the statue of Sri Ramkrishna, the middle is having Maa Adya and the top altar displays Radha and Krishna... The main temple of Adyapeath is unique in both its architecture and its symbolism. Made of immaculate white marble, it is really three temples nestled inside one another... The temple’s symbolism denotes not only the unity of all aspects of the Hindu faith, but the unity of all religions toward a common goal: humanity’s realization of God... Its spire combines Shiva’s Trident, the Moon and Star, the Cross, and the Hand Fan–the symbols of Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, and Buddhism respectively...

Adyapeath Temple is a famous hindu temple in Dakshineswar, very close to the world famous Dakshineswar Kali Temple. Like Dakshineswar temple, this temple is also influenced by Ramkrishna Paramhansha Dev's ideology. This temple is very unique. In the main temple there are idols of Radha Krishna and Ramkrishna Paramhansha along with the prime deity Adya Maa. Definitely visit this temple if you planning to visit Dakshineswar

This is a unique Hindu temple located very close to Dakhshineswar Temple. Here the deity is Goddess Addya Ma. The uniqueness of this temple is that the devotees can only have holy "darshan" on specific times of the day - twice daily to be precise the main temple gate opens for about 30 minutes & rest of the time the main gate is closed. Some specific holy days of the calendar year the gate remains open all throughout the day. The temple administrators are also deeply engaged in several philanthropic works. The temple premises has Orphanages for the boys & girls (separate buildings), old age homes etc. The young orphans are given free meal, free education & are tcoached by Saints to become successful in life. This temple sets example for selfless service to humanity...

Awesome place. I am really happy to visit the temple. Calm and very clean place. I reached there around 1:15 pm. In the middle of March, I couldn't find much crowd over there. Unexpectedly I got the opportunity to have Bhog. The Bhog is just awesome, very tasty. Polao, plain rice, khichuri, 2 types of sabji, chatni, payesh - lots of items. Unfortunately I couldn't get the opportunity to visit the main temple. One can see the main temple in the morning around 10:30 a.m. and in the evening around 6:30 p.m.

The temple is a has a very peaceful ambience and one can request the temple authorities to host certain rituals for certain individuals/families/entities. However, since the temple is located in Behala, the way to the temple is very narrow and congested so driving/riding to the temple may get quite hectic.

Never heard about this ancient place before..it's said that your dakshineswar visit to maa kali is incomplete if you do not visit aadyapeeth. Well all good that ends well!! This time for the first time we visited this place originally founded in 1915 by Ananda Charan Bhattacharya, later the temple was built in 1967. It's located in narrow lanes of kolkata, a 10mins drive by car from Dakhineshwar. A calm peaceful place to be in. Still away from commercialisation. We were blessed to have darshan of original or main aadyapeeth mandir as it is known. Recently a big temple of Maa is also constructed which opens at 7pm for aarti, so we din get a chance to see that. But with no regrets my family and I were happy coming out from this place. Please do visit 🙏

So as you all know that I and my friend visited the dakhineshwar mandir today in the morning and we were planning to visit the Belur Math after that but unfortunately it was close during the 1st half as our President was visiting there, so all of a sudden we decided to visit Adyapeath mandir. Today was both of our first visits here in this mandir. We came out from Dakhineshwar gate number 2 and took a toto, which took Rs.10/- fare per head to the mandir. When we entered the mandir premises, it was a magnificent feeling because Basanti pujo was being held there, so that time aarti was going around, which was a spectacular view. After the aarti was over, we went to the coupon counter for buying coupons for the Maha bhog, which is served there till 2pm in the afternoon. The price of the coupon was Rs.60/- per adult and Rs.30/- per child. We went to the bhojanalay to our surprise it was very clean than other mandir's. So the bhog includes polao, plain rice, mixed vegetables, khicdi, labra, chatni, and payesh. The quantity served is completely stomach filling. The quality of the bhog is magnificent. Then we took some rest, and at 3pm, the main door of the mandir was opened. we saw the glimpse of Lord Adhya here, and our day was completed.

Adyapeath Mandir, located in Kolkata, India, is a serene and spiritually uplifting place that encapsulates the essence of devotion and tranquility. This temple is a significant religious destination for devotees of Maa Kali, the goddess of power and strength. The temple's architecture is a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, with a pristine white façade adorned with intricate carvings and vibrant motifs. The moment you step inside, a feeling of serenity washes over you. The main sanctum sanctorum houses a resplendent idol of Maa Kali, adorned with garlands of marigolds and vibrant fabrics, exuding an aura of divinity. Devotees from all walks of life come here to seek solace, offer prayers, and experience a deep spiritual connection. One of the most striking aspects of Adyapeath Mandir is its tranquil ambiance. Surrounded by lush greenery, the temple provides a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of Kolkata's city life. The serene gardens offer a perfect place for meditation and introspection, allowing visitors to connect with their inner selves. The temple complex also includes a charitable hospital and a school, reflecting the institution's commitment to serving society. This philanthropic aspect adds to the temple's appeal, as it is not only a place of worship but also a center for social welfare and education. Visitors to Adyapeath Mandir can also partake in the daily aarti and bhajans, which create a spiritually charged atmosphere. The temple authorities organize special events and festivals throughout the year, such as Kali Puja and Durga Puja, which draw large crowds and offer a glimpse into the rich culture and traditions of Bengal. In conclusion, Adyapeath Mandir in Kolkata is not just a religious shrine but a holistic spiritual experience. Its serene ambiance, stunning architecture, and dedication to social service make it a must-visit destination for both devotees and tourists. Whether you seek spiritual solace or wish to immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Kolkata, this temple is a place where you can find both. A visit to Adyapeath Mandir is a journey of the soul, a place where you can connect with the divine and experience the true essence of devotion.

**Review of Adyapith Mandir** The Adyapith Mandir is a Hindu temple located in Kolkata, India. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Adya Ma, who is considered to be the supreme form of the goddess Kali. **Pros:** * Serene and peaceful atmosphere: The Adyapith Mandir has a very serene and peaceful atmosphere. The temple is located in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of the city. * Beautiful architecture: The temple is a beautiful example of Bengali architecture. The main temple is adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures. * Welcoming and helpful staff: The staff at the Adyapith Mandir are very welcoming and helpful. They are happy to answer any questions that visitors may have. **Cons:** * Limited visiting hours: The temple is only open to visitors for a few hours each day. This can make it difficult for visitors to plan their trip. * Strict rules: There are a number of strict rules that visitors must follow. For example, visitors are not allowed to wear shoes or carry leather goods inside the temple. * Can be crowded: The temple can be crowded on weekends and holidays. This can make it difficult to get a close look at the deity. **Overall:** The Adyapith Mandir is a beautiful and peaceful temple that is well worth a visit. The temple is a great place to learn about Hindu culture and spirituality. **Rating:** 4 out of 5 stars

Adyapith Mandir is located in Dakshineswar. It is around 1km from the Dakshineswar mandir. One can walk to that place from the mandir. They can also take toto or auto from the mandir. It's roughly 10 rupees per person. The timings of the puja is weird. We went at 12pm but the mandir aarti had been completed. So we were not able to do dorshon. However the bhog system is there. It is quite good. Bhog is available for 60 rupees, in a counter in the premises. Bhog was pretty good. It had 6 items, which were quite tasty. It had table system so nobody has to sit on the floor. This mandir has parking in the premises as well. Definitely recommended.

Adyapeath is another Hindu Temple which was built in 1967. It was originally founded back in 1915 by the followers of Annada Charan Bhattacharya – a great devotee of Maa Kali and Sri Ramkrishna. Adya Maa being a Divine form of Maa Kali the temple has great religious significance. ♥️🌺🙏

Recently I attended funeral ceremony commenced there for my relative and I am sad to to say I am really disappointed by their service, the priest was mechanically chanted the slokas, as if he was in hurry to conclude it within specific time and did not bother to empathize with the grieving family, and by 1 pm everyone there insisted us to do away with lunch and as soon as the clock struck 2 pm they started to wrap things up and ask us to clear the room, even took away the chairs on which we were sitting. Horrible, If you take my advice please think twice before choosing this place for commencing any ceremony. Thank you.

Temple opening hours are parallel with Dakshineswar temple. When we reached there the temple was already closed. The temple is huge, I was surprised. In pictures it looks small. But it's very beautiful made with white marble. They serve bhog at a price for 50rs. It tastes good. 🙏🏻

Went there for shraddha ceremony of relative. Conveniently located, 10 min by walk from train station and metro. Shraddha hall in on the first floor, roomy and well maintained. But did not locate lift, so anyone having mobility issue will have problem. They issue taste bhog meals and saw lot of devotees in the main temple, which I not visited, but looks beautiful from out side. Also there is public toilet and other amenities, overall a place of visit in dakshineswar.

Nice place to offer your prayers... much less hustle than Dakhineswar temple ... very clean compound... You can buy Puja items from near the gate at as low as Rs. 41, keep your shoes there and then enter the temple ... Temple is open in the morning till 1200H... after that again open at 3pm... best thing about this place is the Bhog Prasad ... you can buy the ticket at Rs. 50 per person and the Bhog starts at 1145 am to 1 pm... The Bhog offering is a show to watch by itself, almost 500 people having it at the same time... the car parking is available at Rs. 20 per hour...

I live in South Kolkata and drove there on a weekday during office hours. It was very challenging drive especially with Tala Bridge being under repair already now for a couple of years. That meant detours and heavy traffic. It took me 2 hours to reach. The place itself is OK, plenty of space for parking, and puja facilities are adequate. I went to attend a Shraddha ceremony of a relative.

This is a branch of the main Adyapith Temple. Many Hindu religious activities, e.g., Shradhha, Upanayan, etc., are performed here as per the scriptures. The mandir also distributes bhog everyday. Anybody can purchase the prasad, but is advised to book it beforehand. The temple also organises Kali Puja with many devotees offer their anjali here.
