Bardhaman Zoological Park, widely recognised as Ramnabagan Avayarannya is a small sanctuary of some rare species of animals and birds and a huge varieties of plants. Situated just opposite of Bardhaman University Golapbagh Campus and next to Meghnath Saha Planetarium, this place is a heaven for young minds to get acquainted with wildlife and Mother Nature. Previously, this place was a notorious Lover Zone but currently this is the most sought after destination for spending some quality time with family and friends, particularly with kids. But one thing must admit, the current price of entry ticket is too high, after all this is no Alipore Zoo...and maintenance quality is not so great.

This zoo is a very beautiful place in Burdwan town. Located beside University campus. Zoo, Science centre, Krishna Shaher park and Planatorium all are in very close. In this zoo you can see Leopards, Deers, Crocodiles, Monkeys and some birds. Don't expect more animals but surely you can enjoy the grinnery and huge trees here. Visit this place with only 15 rupee entry fee. You can explore this zoo within one hour.

Bardhaman Zoological park is also known as Ramnabagan Mini Zoo, which is spread over an area of 35 acres. There are also other popular attractions nearby such as Krishna Sayer Park, 108 Shiva Temple and Meghnad saha planetarium.

This destination is good for one day tour but it's need proper maintenance . Due to poor maintenance, this place seems real jungle,, if in near future, government take appropriate actions, this place have that potential to provide more amazing experiences for tourists,, and this place also have several other great destinations like Planetarium, science City and a beautiful park.

There is currently no deer. There is no tiger or lion. But very clean clean place. Nature is very beautiful here. Entry fee ₹ 10, for 2 hours. It is better not to take any plastic inside. You can enter with food. But you can't feed any animal. Smoking ban sleeves. If caught smoking, you have to pay a fine of ₹200. There is no canteen inside. 1-2 hours can be spent effortlessly.

Bardhaman Zoological Park is a really nice place. It's not just a zoo, it's also super eco-friendly. It's so peaceful there ,no noise. They have rare trees. I visited with my family, and it was a great experience. There are all kinds of trees, birds, and mammals to see. The best part is that it's not just about having fun, it's also a place for learning about wildlife. They want to make sure people know about conserving animals and nature. If you're at Burdwan Railway Station, it's really close. Just hop on a toto, and you can easily get there. It's a cool place for a family outing and a chance to appreciate nature and wildlife.

A place with lots of green. Don't expect to see much else you would be very disappointed. Mostly caged birds are available for seeing. Although you have a place for crocodiles but you will need some luck to spot them. Avoid summer time. Parking is available only for few cars at a fixed rate of Rs.20.

If you think it is like Alipore Zoo then you are wrong my friends. Some birds, and deers and crocodiles are available in this zoo. And one thing is that the scenic beauty is quite good enough. If you get some hours for spending then this place can be ok but if you want more fun then sorry.

Near Burdwan university. There is some deers and crocodile. Tiger was there before. It is good place for lovers. Entry tickets applicable. You can visit here with your children & your family to enjoy a lot & that day will be a memorable day for you all. A place with lots of green. Don't expect to see much else you would be very disappointed. Mostly caged birds are available for seeing. Although you have a place for crocodiles but you will need some luck to spot them. Avoid summer time. Parking is available only for few cars at a fixed rate of Rs. 20. Ramnabagan Mini Zoo in the Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary spread over an area of 14.31 hectares is in Mouza Baburbag in Burdwan. This forest patch is under the control of Divisional Forest Officer, Burdwan Division who acts as Ex-Officio Director of the Zoo. The area was declared as reserved forest in 1960. In 1978, the area had been converted to a deer park with the introduction of six spotted deer. Subsequently, the whole area has been declared a wildlife sanctuary. Later on, subsequently a mini Zoo was approved by Central Zoo Authority within the Wildlife Sanctuary area. This Zoo has been renamed as Bardhaman Zoological Park and it has been recognized as a Small Category Zoo. Ramnabagan forest, with its tall and stately teak and sal forest having mesophytic associates like kadbels (Limonia acidissima), dumur (Ficus racemosa), jam (Syzygium cumini), etc., is a solace from the din and bustle of urban life. The area is in the municipal limits of Burdwan town and is about 3 km from Burdwan Railway station to the west. It is about 4 km from G.T. Road (N.H.2) on Burdwan-Durgapur stretch of Durgapur Expressway. It is well connected with G.T Road by Sukumar Sen Road that meets G.T Road at Golapbag crossing. There is a good network of approach roads all along the periphery of the zoo. Burdwan is well connected with all the major junctions of Eastern Railway. Local trains ply between Howrah and Burdwan at regular intervals. One can also avail buses which run frequently from all the major bus terminals at Kolkata.

It's a really nice place to spend quality time with family or friends. The size of the zoo is not so large but is well maintained. Don't expect to see so much here or you will be disappointed because very few animal species are available here. Overall it's a nice place to visit at least once in Barddhaman.

Animals are nicely taken care of. The sanitizing work at the zoo gate was awesome. Enjoyed visiting the zoo with friends. Spend a precious time there.

You'll be thrilled to notice the different behavioural patterns of different species of animals here..The natural beauty is captivating!

Looks like they are expanding the place. Overall good effort. The bird habitats can be improved. Looks like they are practically living inside a net. The leopards seem to be newly added. Good place to take your kids or hang out in afternoons. They do not allow "big cameras" inside other than mobile phones. You need to speak to the office for permission before entering.

It needs a lot of things there. Didn't see much improvement over the decades. Except ticket pricing everything is decreasing over time. I know It's a government owned place, so they don't know how to improve themselves. But this excuse should be ended. It needs improvement. It needs some ambience. It's a heritage of Burdwan, are we just gonna let it ruin over the excuse of laziness?
