It is not maintained properly by the authority. Entry fee is very high comparing to the importance of the place and it may be due to some unknown reason. No need to travel from long distance to here. No proper resting place, no fooding facilities available here. You have to keep your own arrangement for foods. The place is not suitable for the children.I would like to draw the attention of the authorities to look into the whole matter for a better future.

Great place for weekend family trip. Nature and environment won't disappoint you. But ticket price is a bit high ₹120/- per head as of Dec, 2022 only for entry I must say. Boating and Picnic facility is also available but there will be an additional charge. Picture took: Me, My friend Sayantan & Bikram Device: Samsung S20 FE, S21

(Translated by Google) Bibhutibhushan Wildlife Sanctuary (Formerly Parmadan Sanctuary) Named after Bibhuti Bhushan in 1970 This sanctuary is done. Active Sanctuary is located in Bangaon subdivision of North 24 Parganas of West Bengal. It is popular as a picnic spot and is considered a beautiful place to spend a fun weekend trip. The beautiful Ichhamati River flows through a sanctuary spread over 92 hectares. You can go to the local villages and enjoy a boat ride on the Ichhamati river. Adjacent to the river are the habitats of Shimul, Arjuna, Shishu, Shirish as well as numerous birds and ancient plants. More than 400 deer, a variety of birds, and tails or monkeys adorn the forest. The main part of the forest is surrounded by iron cages. The walkway is around the cage. As he walks, he occasionally sees a couple of deer running around. But the best time to visit them is when they are fed by forest officials. Feeding time is 4 pm and 9 am. In addition to the Children's Park, there is a small zoo and a Forest Department tourist lodge. The distance from Kolkata is only 96 kilometers. From Kolkata (Sealdah Railway Station) go to Bangaon from Kolkata and then take the 92A bus from Naldugri (Naldugri bus stand) to Auto, Toto. Also take bus from Ranaghat or Chakdaha railway station to Sindrani, auto from Sindrani, reach Toto at Bibhutibhushan Sanctuary Entrance fee is 60 rupees and separate for vehicles. It's a very good place roam around. Quiet place. Although some stupid play music on Bluetooth speaker inside jungle, that is very irritating. Otherwise, it's a beautiful jungle. Also, entry fee is a little higher and the ticket counter closes before 3:30 p.m.

Two friends ran to Bibhutibhushan Sanctuary which is located in Parmadan village near Banga to capture Hooded pitta pic with camera. As the meeting season is going on now, I got very bad pictures of Hooded pitta and also collected many pictures of birds. It was good to walk in the forest in hot weather. I talked about food in a local house there. Launch egg rice 100 rupees and vegetarian rice 80 rupees water bottle 30 rupees 2 liter.I went to the forest and collected bird pic this is first time. The day was very good.

Certainly, the star attraction of this place is the river Ichamati. It wraps around the forest area, and for the lucky ones, you can take a boat ride around the entire forest. We weren't so lucky, the riverway was blocked by outgrowth. However, don't miss a trip via the Ichamati. The population of wildlife here is poor, but you can be there for the deer-feeding time (this place has a large population of spotted deer) which is usually 2-4 pm. So, plan accordingly. You might also be able to spot a few birds and butterflies, especially in winter. Incidentally, the official government rest house is currently open, so you can book a stay there. After walking through the forest, you can boat across Ichamati to Neel Saheber Kuthi (a dilapidated, ancient bungalow with an interesting history). The place is known as Mangalgunj. Entry fees are pegged at ₹120/head. Depending on your purpose of visit, the cars you bring - this might vary. The boat ride is usually of an hour and costs ~₹100/head. These prices are quoted as on 13/02/22. There aren't any proper places to eat inside. However, at the gate, you can instruct the local villagers to cook for you, and have lunch later when you come out. To reach: (from Kolkata) Ranaghat (via train) -> Walk to bus stand, Bus to Duttafulia (or Sindrani) -> Bus/Toto to Naldugari (from Duttafulia/Sindrani) -> Toto to Parmadan. There's a route via Bongaon. We didn't take it, so some of the other comments might be more helpful in this regard.

It is an awesome place for kids as there are a lot of birds peacock and playing areas for them. You can find deer as well. The place has empty ground which the general public uses for picnic purposes. There is a guest house from the forest department. If you guys have contacts or sources then you can book and spend a night over there as well.

The ticket price is high. Nowadays rarely the deer can be seen. Few Alligators, and tortoises. Peococks ,and few birds. I don't think good enough for people's attraction. It would be good if people can roam freely. Obviously few guards can stay anywhere to observe. Need more things to add. I hope the government will solve the issue.

This is a deer park situated in Bongaon, entry ticket is 50 rupees per head, very nice place for a day outing from Kolkata, local people cook food for the visitors. Icchamati river is the best charm of the place, there is a old ruin of Britishers for the blue revolution. Good place for photography, birds, monkeys and deers available in the forest.

This place's name inspired by The famous Writer, novelist, songwriter Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay, His childhood home was at Barakpur village near Gopalnagar which located quite far from that.. This wildlife Located 100 kms from Kolkata it is a small village nestled among green and serenity. The chirping birds, the gentle breeze of the forest and the soothing sound of the Ichamoti will make you feel connected to nature. Also you can see deer and various species of animals..

A ok ok place... U can find birds and deer here but it's very tough to see 🦌 in normal time. At 2.30 to 3 pm they feed the deer, only that time u can see the deers in bulk. Ticket price is 120per person that is too much expensive.

A place for Breeding and supply of Deer which are kept in a enclosed area of the forest by the side of Ichamati river. A pathway by the side of deer park take to the river. Boating facility is available. (Charge for crossing the river is Rs 10/-). The river is choked. The remains of Nilkuthi situated on the other side of river. The access to the sanctuary is chargeable. (Rs 120/- per head and also charges for different types of vehicles and for picnic).

One of the best place to enjoy calmness. A nice one day trip. Forest could be visited almost completely through a nearly two hour long walking. Additional facilities are watching Ichhamati and roaming with it beneath dense bamboo sticks. Nearby forest guest house locals also provide boat riding @100/- per head for to and fro journey through Ichhamati upto Nilkuthi at Mangalganj. Apart from all serenity, one thing that feel overpriced to us is the entry ticket charges (Rs. 120/- per head) of the forest.

Vibhutibhushan Sanctuary is located in a peaceful environment in a village, during the English period, English gentlemen used to grow indigo in this area and they built a house for their stay which is still there today and is known as Neelkuthi. The forest is named after the literary legend Vibhutibhushan. This place is also known as Par Madan Forest. On special days of the year it is crowded, people come here for picnics, there is a small children's park and a variety of food stalls, fuchka rolls, chowmin tea, coffee are available here. There is a boat ride on the river and to see the deer and birds in the forest across the river, tickets cost 100 rupees per person.

(Translated by Google) Not many people know about Bibhutibhushan Sanctuary or Parmadan Forest near Bangaon. Those who have not yet traveled to the forest should definitely visit here. It goes without saying that there is no better place to visit near Bangaon at low cost. In the forest you will see deer, rabbits, white peacocks, different species of trees and birds. If you are lucky, you can catch a snake or two. There is also a picnic spot on one side of the forest. Good luck to those who want to go on tour. This is very nice The place is well connected from Kolkata , however its not justify the name 'Sanctuary'. We only able to see two Gharial and one deer (on very remote distance). Other than this not even see birds. Apart form big trees and morning or evening walk around the jungle within defined (by officials) route . There is lot of improvement needed interns of hotels , food , wildlife availability etc, in compare to Nandankanan I will give 1 out of 10. I stayed in hotel call Swastideep just opposite to Sanctuary main gate, this hotel is good considering location , cleanness, staff cordiality and there support outstanding. But lack of good food and variety, I would say any traveler will be highly disappointed, no proper restaurant ,menu card nothing.

Bibhuti Bhushan Wildlife Sanctuary locally known as Parmadan Sanctuary is just over three hours drive from Kolkata and is popular for deer, snakes and varied species of birds. Located on the banks of Ichamati River, you can take a lazy country boat ride through the forest or a refreshing jungle stroll watching the friendly deer prance around. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in the year 1980 to pay tribute to the famous Bengali writer Bibhutibhusan Bandhyopadhay. The Sanctuary has a deer population of more than 250 and a heaven for bird spotters. You will get to see peacocks, woodpeckers, sankhacheel, nilkhantha, fultusi and many others. The Sanctuary is also an abode of   monkeys, tortoise, and comprises of trees such as shishu, minjiri, tut, arjun, shimul, shishir, bamboo and many others. The river Ichamati crisscrosses the forest and a boat ride takes you to the entire Sanctuary. The nearest railhead is Bongaon. Local trains are available from Sealdah in Kolkata. From Bongaon you will have to take a rickshaw to Motiganj. From Motiganj take a Duttafuli bound bus and get down at Naldugri. Parmadan is about 3 kms from Naldugri. You will also get Duttafuli bound buses from Ranaghat also (20 km). By Road Parmadan is 33 km from Bongaon ( India-Bangladesh border ) and 110 km from Kolkata. Buses: CSTC buses for Naldugri are available from Esplande Bus Terminal. From Motiganj take a Duttafuli bound bus and get down at Naldugri. Parmadan is about 3 kms from Naldugri. Before going please wear a Mask 😷.

Liked it. Really a great place to love the nature and to time pass. It's not a zoo, it's a wildlife sanctuary. But, it's a good place! You can visit the sanctuary if you love nature. If you have the motto to see wild animals then you should not come here because this is a sanctuary only not zoo. No wild animals are kept in cages here. Once you know this you can come here and spend time.

Nice place.... Who loves nature and calmness of forest this place is specially for those. You can visit here for 1 day trip with your friends or family. And you also can do picnic in this forest but you have to pay more for this. Best time to visit here is October to March , you also can visit other time but you feel very hot 🔥 sweaty

I had been planning to visit this place for a while now ever since I heard about the forest. After seeing a couple of YouTube videos, I was convinced that I had to come here and see it closely. And the place did not disappoint. I am a huge fan of flora and fauna and having the Ichamati River flow past the forest made it even more appealing. The chitter-chatter of birds, the small pests, the deer, peacock, squirrels, everything made the place even more enchanting. I spend a good 4 hours inside the forest roaming around the encased deer area. However, the biggest letdown for me was the reckless behavior ofthe visitors. There was plastic strewn all over the forest. Besides being attacked with plastics of all kind, there were thermocol plates and glasses too. A few of the ignorant visitors had burnt things inside the forest, making that particular land immediately barren and risking the whole foliage. Furthermore, the visitors were blasting music inside the premises. I am yet to understand how people can do that inside a forest which has so many animals. Loud music was coming from the village across the river too. I think the authorities should make it a rule to not allow any kind of life music within a specific radius of the forest. I had a chat with the working personnel of the forest and they too expressed their helplessness in the maintenance of the forest. And right fully so, in that big a forest, it is not possible for them to keep an eye on everyone. Other than this, the seating areas and the barks of the trees near the path running throughout the forest had several names of people written and often engraved on them. I don't understand how people prove their love for one another by robbing the place of its beauty. Those were sticking out like a sore thumb. Through this review, I would like to request the authorities to bring forth stricter and more effective code of conduct for visitors visiting this beautiful forest.

Amazing green gateway. Well maintained. The stay is better enjoyed if stayed in the West Bengal government Guest House. Chances of seeing Deer is better in the morning when they are feed, which is nearby the guest house.

Great place... Restriction is incredibly increased right now... You can't go any deeper of the forest.. I will suggest, you are interested to visit there for 1 or 2 hrs then this place is right for you... As for, Me and my friend is bit of nature lover, we were ended up our 3hrs there..

It's nice place to experience the wilderness. But most of the visitors don't follow or don't want to follow the instructions given by forest department. Plastics can be seen very easily in forest area 😐.

Bethuadahari wildlife sanctuary its not justify the name 'Sanctuary', we only able to see two Gharial and one deer on very remote distance, also there is no birds. Lsots of improvement is necessary. I think traveler will be highly disappointed to see the Jungle and wild life. Also nigh stay is horrible due to bat and mosquitos as because there is no net in the window.

All are closed. Whatever the info is, all are wrong.nothing left is there.only the jungle was present over there. Only two peacock and some birds are there. So it's a waste of time and waste of money. Please do confirm and verify it from genuine person before going there.am very very disappointed. I went there on the basis of Wikipedia's info.but there was nothing.

It's location is one of the main reason for its beauty. Icchamati river all around the sanctuary increases its natural beauty. Entry per head is 150 is way high ocnsidering the maintainace and facilities available inside. No maintenance can be seen in the pathway. Almost 4km of it perimeter only 200 meter is worthy of its name having birds, monkey, deer. Roads are slippery to walk while raining, no proper riverside viewable waiting stand is there. Considering it location and area it can become a very popular holiday destinations if maintain properly.

The forest is located about 100 km from Kolkata and 25 km from Bongaon, this wildlife sanctuary is a favoured getaway destination amongst the people of Kolkata who flock to this place to check out the rich wildlife residing here. Good to go there. But I will suggest contact them for guest house for night staying. Else you can't enjoy or feel that environment. If you have plan to go there and return on same day, as the road condition is so bad, it's better to leave that area in day light. So for that reason you have to leave at noon. But if you leave that area at noon, you will most possibly miss those wild deers. Those deer will come close only when those jungle keeper put there foods on a specific area. So that, if you can weight near on that specific area, you will get a good view of those deer. Time is around +/-3pm. But after 3 or 4pm if you leave from that place , it's not safe to come back to kolkata area. And from afternoon that SH12 will become congested by trucks. Now if you want to go there for same day return, i will suggest bring your food with you. Nearby shops are not hygienic. Egg toast of omlet is okay, but for heavy meal, those out side shops are not so well.

Bibhutibhushan Wildlife Sanctuary is located at the bank of ichamati river,in north 24 parganas Bagda constituency. Almost 65sq km areas are covered by this forest, of which the maximum area is covered by fencing, the brick path around the fencing is the only accessible area of this forest. Though it is very rich in density nowadays it is very famous for the Hooded Pitta seeing in and around the sanctuary. Besides that local people always go for a picnic and for a walk.
