Drive-in beach was amazing. Itโ€™s a quite unique experience for tourists. We can easily drive on the sea shore that four wheelers and two wheelers are allowed. It really gets too crowded getting is space for ourselves to enjoy is quite tough but still you can enjoy. We just need to be careful if we are going with kids as there are some crazy drivers driving around their vehicle like theyโ€™re driving on some racetrack. Definitely worth visiting this place.

This beach is a remarkable destination, renowned as the only longest driving beach in India and one among the longest in the world. Its unique appeal lies in the opportunity to drive along its expansive shoreline. However, being underdeveloped as a tourist spot, it lacks some of the amenities commonly found at world-famous beaches. The good news is that the authorities have begun to recognize its tourism potential and are taking steps to enhance it. To further improve the visitor experience, the following areas need urgent attention: 1. Improved road access to the beach. 2. Adequate toilet facilities. 3. Enhanced safety measures, including lifeguard presence and monitoring. 4. Development of recreational amenities. 5. Consistent and thorough cleaning services. 6. Clear signage outlining permitted and prohibited activities. A standout feature of this beach is the breathtaking sunset view, which is a must-see for anyone traveling through the area. Despite the current limitations, the beach offers a unique experience thatโ€™s worth exploring. Couple of times the beach was closed and observed it only after reaching there. There can be a sign board placed a the Kannur/Tly main road to notify the visitors in advance.

Beautiful drive in beach in Kerala. There is an entrance fee for Cars and Bikes. You can drive your vehicle through the beach with a speed limit of 20 km/hour. Longest drive in beach. Good views. Good for families and children. While walking through the beach you should be careful about the running vehicles. The best view is from 4.30 pm to 6.15 pm. The road from National Highway to beach entrance is narrow and there is a railway level cross also.

One of the most unique experiences while on this beach as it offers drive in. When we went in at 6.30 am when the crowd were only fishermen it was fantastic. Unfortunately sky was hazy and sunrise can't be seen as the beach is in western side of India. We could watch fishermen take out their planted fishnet which was kept overnight. I've taken some snaps with bald white headed eagles ๐Ÿฆ… catching their dead preys on the beach! Great experience!

The beach is neat and trash free. The place has got big crowd. The place is beautiful and perfect place to hang out with friends and family. There is an entry fees of 40 per vehicle. Sunset is the best time to visit. The driving beach is pretty long enough.

Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach is a Asia's longest drive in beach where you can enjoy your driving on sea shore. Entry fee is 40 for car and 20 for bike. Muzhapallingad beach is ideal for a beach ,but make sure when you are parking that's you are nearby as tides may suddenly turn .It is a very scenic spot and note it is not in Kannur but more near to Thalaserry. Ideal time would be early morning .The beach is gas done rocky areas which can be reached during low tide. Must visit place in Thalaserry..

This beach is the longest Drive-In Beach in Asia and is featured among the top 6 best beaches for driving in the world in BBC article . Muzhappilangad is the only Asian beach featured in the list. Even though Goa has many beautiful beaches, it does not have a Drive-in beach. It is considered as the longest drive-in beach in Asia The beach festival is celebrated in the month of April and it is one of the important tourist attraction in the district of Kannur in Kerala. The youth also try many driving stunts in cars like drifting and wheeling in bikes as this is a paradise for driving along the shore.

Asiaโ€™s longest driving beach. There is an entry fee of car โ‚น40.Bike โ‚น20. Bus โ‚น70. A perfect place for spinning your car, take some nice pictures and if possible enjoying the sunset as well. The experience is surreal. Its best for driving. I wouldn't recommend this beach for beach activities as the waves are too shallow. However i believe one cannot experience driving through a beach in any other place. So if u visit kannur be sure to come here. Beautiful drive in beach in Kerala. There is an entrance fee for Cars and Bikes. You can drive your vehicle through the beach with a speed limit of 20 km/hour. Longest drive in beach. Good views. Good for families and children. Itโ€™s one of the best drive in beach in India. In fact it is listed in the top 6 Drive in beach of the world by BBC. I visited this beach in a cloudy weather, enjoyed a lot. This beach is not for bathing. It's a white sand beach. When the sun rays fall on the sand, it's glimpse like Perl. Unfortunately, I got those glimpse just for few minutes as it was cloudy. However, it's better to visit this beach in the early morning, when the crowd is less. Evening time it's become too crowded. Driving through this beach was an awesome experience. This beach attracts heavy footfall/ car tire fall during the evening. However, cleanliness of this beach is getting hampered due to irresponsible human behaviours.

This is Asiaโ€™s Largest Drive-in Beach having a 4 km stretch of sand that awaits you to simply drive along as you soak in to the view of the beautiful Malabar Coast. Muzhappilangad is the only drive in beach in Kerala, here your drive in beach fantasy can be fulfilled.

To enter the beach you have to cross narrow roads. There is always a chance that any vehicle from opposing direction might come. Difficult for new drivers. Believe me- I am saying from experience of 1.5 lakh km of driving. But once you win that part, you will be at a beach where you can drive your car in the sea and at the shore. This is amazing experience, you need to pay 40 as entry fee and then the whole beach is yours. Park anywhere on the beach. Apart from driving, many other activities. Floating bridge 120 per person, but children can go free. Kit flying and others. Better time to go is evening when you can enjoy the driving and see sunset.

Nice & clean beach, which is one of the longest beach in India. Maintained well with good control of crowd & cleanliness at the best. This is the only drive in beach in Asia so it is must visit place. Make sure that when you travel to this there should be no cyclone because they wonโ€™t allow you to drive car at that time. Muzhappilangad is considered to be Asiaโ€™s longest drive in beach. It is a very good experience to drive through the sandy coast. The surroundings of the beach are kept clean, but can be improved. It is a great place for enjoying the beach as well as driving. Lots of tourists and locals come here to enjoy, and for picnics. The beach also has a lot of birds, which makes it a great destination for bird watching as well. The place also has good fish landings. Please remember to drive carefully and responsibly here, as families with small children also visit this beach.

You need to take a ticket to bring the vehicle down to the beach. Bikes, cars and even buses can be get off here. It's a very different experience. Please note : Do not park the car on the beach for any reason, just keep driving. If not, the car will go down.

What sets Muzhappilangad apart from other beaches is its rare feature - it allows visitors to drive along its shores, making it one of the few drive-in beaches in the world. Stretching for about 4 kilometers, Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach is renowned for its pristine golden sands, clear blue waters, and gentle waves. The shallow depth of the beach and the gradual slope make it safe for swimming and other water activities. In addition to driving, visitors can also indulge in various recreational activities such as beach volleyball, sunbathing, and picnicking. The beach is dotted with food stalls offering delicious local delicacies, making it a perfect spot for a day out with family and friends. Overall, Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach offers a unique and unforgettable experience, blending adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty in one stunning location.

How to reach: Come towards Thottada through national highway. The google map location is very accurate. You may feel that you are going to reach a dead end. There is a school near by. You can park your car near the boat bay and then walk towards the beach. Walk towards south side. Best time to visit: Reach by 5 PM and spend up to sunset. Before 5 PM it is too sunny and no shades available. Bring Snacks and drinking water: There is no hotel or shops nearby, so always bring snacks and drinks. Beware: The rocks towards are too slippery and you may slip in the rocks in land if your footwear is full of sands. Neatness: Very clean beach, please do not ... Family and kids friendly

Since the late 1990s, the beach has seen a steady influx of European tourists during winter. A major share of foreign and domestic tourists are not aware of the potential of this elusive destination. It is a must see destination for Indians as well as foreign tourists. After the face lift of the beach there has been a huge improvement in the facilities available to the beach visitors including resorts, roads, etc. The beach is wide and the sand is firm enough to support smooth driving.

Very beautiful drive in Beach. You can enjoy driving or riding on the shore and splash on the waves hitting the shore. Entry fee is 40 for four wheeler. Best time to visit is after 5PM. You can park you car on the beach and enjoy the beach. Be careful not to park or stop your car close to shore where waves meet. You may get stuck there. Be responsible while driving as locals play football, cricket on the shore. Keep your speed below 30kmph. Never miss the sunset here. I suggest to wash your vehicle including chassis after driving here, as salt water may cause to rust your Chassis. The shore is hard, don't worry, enjoy your drive.

Lying close to Kannur railway station and Calicut airport, Muzhappilangad Beach is famous for being Kerala's only drive in beach as 4 km of sand and a shimmering Malabar coastline can be viewed from the road.ย  The waters are protected from deep currents by the black rocks that protect the beach so this place is considered a swimmers paradise as well.

It's my first time wonderful experience to make a drive on the sea shore. Heard that it is one of the two driving beach in the Asian continent. The shore is very rigid & leveled to have a fun driving at this place. And the same shore is soft and smooth enough for the local folks to play their football and Cricket matches too .. Amazing creation of God. Your drive here always been amongst many local boys are being playing their football and cricket matches on the same shore, that need a caution and bit concern on your driving.. Come and enjoy a different feelings altogether.

Muzhappilangad is the only drive-in beach in Asia. It is parallel to National Highway NH-17, four kilometers between Thalassery and Kunnur. April is a great month to visit this lovely beach because there is a festival. It includes car and bike stunts, so appeals largely to the younger element because it can be fairly raucous. Black rocks surround the beach, offering it some protection from strong currents. It is good for both sunbathing and swimming, a peaceful spot where it is very easy to relax.

Asia's longest drive-in beach. I couldn't resist driving on the beach and it is safe to drive here. I was here on a Saturday and the vibe was pretty good. I stayed in a homestay nearby and drove on the beach the next day as well. The sunset looks pretty here. You'd be charged around Rs 50 to enter with your vehicle. I was here in December and had a good experience. Do try the coffee at a restaurant on the beach. I wish one could stay on the beach overnight.

It is the only drive-in beach in Kerala and one of the longest in Asia, stretching for about 4 km along the Malabar Coast. The beach is clean and well-maintained, with black rocks that protect it from the strong currents of the ocean. The water is clear and inviting, and the sunset is spectacular. There are also many shacks that serve delicious Malabar cuisine along the way. However, the beach is currently undergoing a makeover, which makes it a bit cluttered and less scenic. The approach road to the beach is narrow and congested, and there are no proper signboards to guide the tourists. It is hoped that the makeover will improve the infrastructure and accessibility of the beach, as well as preserve its natural beauty and charm. This beach is a must-visit destination for anyone who wants to enjoy a thrilling and relaxing drive on the sand.

It is one of asia's largest drive-in beach featured in BBC...it was best beach to drive your bikes or cars..peoples also arrive here at early morning to learn driving... evening will be usually crowded with peoples.. morning is the best time to learn driving and enjoy the beach peacefully...you have to take token to enter the beach with your motor vehicles.

It's a great place. There is a entry fee for vechiles with even speed limit. They have maintained it well. Clean and hygiene. Day time is less crowded. This place is good for kids , family and couples and friends. It's a great feeling to drive in the beach. It's the best place for rider's- good place to click some great pictures. Decent crowd around. They should have a beach view 24/7 open cafe or a place to chill. This can be a great tourist place if taken care off.

It is the one and only drive in beach in Kerala. We can drive our vehicles through the see side. The sand is very tight there and our vehicles can easily drive through it. The sunset also marvelous there.

Wonderful driving beach. You love driving in a beach if you like driving. Must visit place. Morning and evening times are recommend considering Kerala sun. The beach is approx. 2 km to drive and it is suitable only for driving. I didn't see shops or restaurant near by and you need to travel thalassary which is 4-5 km approx. so plan accordingly.

This beautiful beach is located in between Kozhikode and Kannur .This is a wonderful drive - in beach .The climate was excellent when we visited this cute beach in a June month . Driving along with the waves wil give a pleasant and thrilling experience. We can go a long stretch in the beach by a car or jeep .Best place to take photos or to shoot videos . Unforgettable experience and the route to this beach from the main road is so cute with lots of coconut palms .visit once and you will love it .

Muzhappilangad Beach is famous for being Kerala's only drive in beach as 4 km of sand and a shimmering Malabar coastline can be viewed from the road. The waters are protected from deep currents by the black rocks that protect the beach so this place is considered a swimmers paradise as well.

A great place for friends and families to spend and explore both the scenic beauty of the sunset / sunrise and experience the drive through the seashore. Only drive in beach in Kerala. But maintained poorly. Only entry fee collection is happening. They are not maintaining it properly. It should be taken directly under tourism dept. The way from main road to Beach is very narrow. So prefer small vehicles to reach beach. Enjoy sunset in the beach. Drive out all tensions in mind. Take a ride in 2 wheeler, really nice experience . But be careful, so many vehicles will be there. So always switch on headlights while riding in Beach.

Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beachย (5.5ย km length)ย is a beach in the state ofย Keralaย in southwesternย India. It is located parallel toย National Highway 66ย (formerly National Highway 17) betweenย Thalasseryย andย Kannur.

Beautiful and clean beach. Maybe because there were just locals and not many people know about this place. When I visited, there were barely 3-4 more people on the entire beach and they were locals not tourists. Kerala is full of such unexplored beaches โœจ

The best drive in beach in Kerala. You can drive your vehicle in the sandy beach along with the waves. But be careful about the people and other vehicles. The problem here is the road leading to the beach, it's narrow and packed with cars and the beach is not well maintained... still it's a beautiful place

  • 5/5 Cazrodian V. 3 years ago on Google
If you want to experience the splash of sea waves on your car's windshield?? Come over here. This is the best place for you. Drive through sea waves and enjoy. Get a ton of fun and photos. Be careful not to stop your car in the water. The waves will cover your wheels with sand.

Loved driving on the beach. Quite a long stretch. The sand is unusually hard. Nice view of rocky bay with coconut groves towards Southern end of the beach. The water is shallow and the beach is flat with lots of shell deposit.

This beach is the longest Drive-In Beach in Asia and is featured among the top 6 best beaches for driving in the world inย BBCย article for Autos. Muzhappilangad is the only Asian beach featured in the list. Even though Goa has many beautiful beaches, it does not have a Drive-in beach. It is considered as the longest drive-in beach in Asia. The beach festival is celebrated in the month of April and it is one of the important tourist attraction in the district of Kannur in Kerala. The youth also try many driving stunts in cars like drifting and wheeling in bikes as this is a paradise for driving along the shore. There is an unpaved road winding throughย coconutย grovesย leading to the beach. To get to this road, if you are driving from Tellicherry towards Kannur, take the left turn just before the first railway crossing you encounter after crossing the Moidu bridge. This beach is about 5ย km long and curves in a wide area providing a good view of Kannur on the north. Local laws allow beachgoers to drive for a full 4ย km directly on the sands of the beach. The beach is bordered by black rocks, which also protect it from the stronger currents of the ocean. These rocks provide habitat forย Blue mussel, a delicious seafood. Beach attracts bird-watchers from far off places as hundreds of birds flock here during various seasons. Approximately 100โ€“200ย m south of the beach there is a private island calledย Dharmadam Islandย (Pacha Thuruthu in Malayalam, which translates to Green Island in English). It is possible to walk to the island duringย low tideย from the nearbyย Dharmadamย beach.

Visited on December 31st evening, it's like a dream place for riders, bike or car, you can drive inside the beach on the sea shore. You can witness a beautiful sunset as well which i witnessed. This beach is 24 hrs open and there was public event organised for new year which was free for all and the beach is beautiful even at the night time. Keep your safety as priority when you ride. Tickets at 20 for bikes and 40 for cars. Do not litter.

Muzhappilangad Beach is indeed a unique and wonderful destination for a drive-in experience. Here's a review based on your mentioned aspects: - Fun with Kids: Children will likely enjoy the novelty of driving on the beach and playing in the sand. They can build sandcastles, fly kites, or engage in various beach activities. Just ensure their safety and keep an eye on them while driving on the beach. - Great Time with Parents: Muzhappilangad Beach offers a pleasant environment for spending quality time with parents. You can take leisurely strolls along the shoreline, enjoy the sea breeze, and have meaningful conversations amidst the picturesque setting. - Wonderful Driving Experience: Driving along the shoreline with the waves crashing nearby is an exhilarating experience. The hard-packed sand allows for a smooth drive, making it enjoyable for both car and bike enthusiasts. - Unique Beach: Muzhappilangad Beach's distinct feature of allowing vehicles on the sand sets it apart from many other beaches. It offers a different perspective and adds a touch of adventure to your beach experience. - Best Time to Visit: Early morning or evening are often the ideal times to visit. During these times, the weather is relatively cooler, and you can witness beautiful sunrises or sunsets over the Arabian Sea. The beach is generally less crowded during these hours, allowing for a more serene experience. Overall, Muzhappilangad Beach is known for its drive-in experience, making it an exciting destination for families, beach lovers, and those seeking a unique coastal adventure.

Muzhappilangad Drive-In Beach is a unique and fun experience that is sure to entertain people of all ages. This beach is the only one in Asia where you can drive your car on the sand. The beach is 4 kilometers long and is lined with palm trees. There are also a few restaurants and shops on the beach. I visited Muzhappilangad Drive-In Beach with my family recently and had a great time. We drove our car along the beach, stopped to take pictures, and even went for a swim in the ocean. The beach was not crowded, and we had plenty of space to spread out. I would highly recommend Muzhappilangad Drive-In Beach to anyone looking for a unique and fun beach experience. It is a great place to go with family or friends. Positives: Unique experience of driving on the beach Beautiful scenery Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere Good place for swimming Family-friendly Overall: Muzhappilangad Drive-In Beach is a great place to visit if you are looking for a unique and fun beach experience. It is a beautiful beach with plenty of space to spread out. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun day out. Here are some tips for visiting Muzhappilangad Drive-In Beach: Visit during the off-season to avoid the crowds. Drive slowly and carefully on the beach. Be respectful of the environment. Bring a camera to capture the beautiful scenery. I hope this helps!

Probably the only drive-in beach in India. The gate pass for vehicles is some 40Rs or something. Enjoy your evening at this beach when you visit Thalassery. Fly kites, drive and watch the sun set, and do regular beach activities. It is one of the most popular beaches in Kerala, so it might get crowded in some evenings.. But definitely visit the place once you're in Thalassery, it's roughly 8-9km from town.

Drive-in beach was amazing. Itโ€™s a quite unique experience for tourists. Amazing place to relax in the evening especially for ๐ŸŒ… sunset. There is an entry fee for you vehicles cars๐Ÿš— 40 bike๐Ÿ๏ธ 20.

  • 5/5 Manu T. 8 months ago on Google
For people who love beaches, sitting in the sand, playing as the waves come by or just like the wind blowing against you. Now imagine doing that all with your car or bike next to you, driving or riding on the beach. If you would love to do that this is probably the only place for you in the country. Recently they have added the floating bridge to where people walk on the bridge which is laid into the sea and literally walk over the waves as they come. We couldn't do these due to high tide alert and the sea being a bit rough when we visited, but definitely coming back to experience these two things soon. Hope the weather remains favourable then.

The approach road is confusing and narrow since there is a lot of construction happening in the thalaserry-kannur road. Once you arrive at the beach you will see even more construction happening. Looks like they are building an actual beach road. Keep heading south to get to the actual beach where you can drive. Be careful not to drive too close to the sea, your car might get stuck. Check the image below. If you love your car, then stay away from water, salt water can be a killer to the car. Otherwise it's a fun drive. There is also a floating structure that allows you to walk into the sea. This is a fun experience as well. It tests your body balance. 120rs/person is the cost.

Muzhappilangad Beach in Kannur is one of the rare drive-in beaches in the country. A fairly long beach, it is quite clean and free of garbage. There is a nominal charge for driving on the beach. Make sure you get your vehicle washed immediately after the drive to avoid rusting. A nice experience

It's one amazing experience in India. The longest drive in beach, where all the elders and kids loved alike. If you are a beach person and love water splashing all over your car when you drive, this is a must visit. Definitely one of a life time experience that comes at just INR. 30 or 40 entry ticket per car.

Very nice beach to hangout. You'll get best experience. We visited the beach 2 days and the place was heavily crowed on both days. As it's a drive in beach, there will be lots of vehicles too. The beach is very neat and clean. The water is very clear and its very safe to bath in the sea.

๐Ÿ‘ Longest drive in beach in Asia. Has high potential for development. The park near is not known to many. A good place to relax after roaming in the beach. A building which appears to be a comfort station is also present which is being unused and not maintained.
