It's a small cozy place with a great variety of food ranging from breakfast/snacks to dinner. They serve Indian, Chinese, Continental, Italian dishes. The taste of all the food items we tried was really good. They have awesome variety of pastries as well. The restaurants interior is uniquely decorated. The restaurants person is really humble and warm. Service is a bit slower, though the nature of hospitality balances this. It's situated right on the main road, and can be spotted by looking for a hut structure. You will be able to park the vehicle around the restaurant on road side as it isn't occupied by other vendors or else.

We went to New Freeman's for lunch and it was a delicious meal. Their Choco truffle cake is to die for! 😍 Their mushroom coorg style, chicken starter, biryani and American chop suey were great. They have amazing spring rolls too. Will definitely go back when we're in Madikeri!

One of the best place in town to have traditional Coorg food. We tried Coorg chicken fry and Coorg chicken curry with the rice rotis known as Akki Roti. Chicken cutlet is must try. They also serve Hyderabad chicken and mutton biryani. Also the owners/staff are friendly and provide good service !!

The food is okay and reasonably priced. We had lemon chicken and fried rice. The non veg starters were good too.

We ate Chinese dishes like fried rice and chilli item. It was prepared nicely and tastes good. This restaurant is in a old classical house and gives a feeling of eating in house. We liked the service

You know the saying that don't judge a book by its cover which will suit his restaurant. Firstly, hospitality is good with friendly people and when it comes to food, i would request you to try Coorg Special Chicken and Mushrooms masala. The flavors and the ingredients are top notch and it adds extra taste to the curry. They will use Coorg Black Venigar, this will change the taste of the entire curry into a different level of taste. Hyderbadi biriyani also their signature dish and it can be added to you desk if you are a biriyani lover. Price: Mostly, all the curries are under 200 only.

Home styled restaurant situated at roadside. Well mannered and polite staffs/waiters. Food quality and taste was good from main course to desserts. Sitting outside feels better than sitting inside.

If you are having this one in near by search then without hesitation go for it. In the four days journey i found some delicious food there. Taste of every byte was delicious. Every item we ordered was tasty. Even if you are planning nearby for some good food, go for it. Believe me you won’t be disappointed and Service was also very good. It is a cozy place, best meant for a satisfactory dinner. Even though place is little conjested, they offer a great and friendly service. They offer very tasty food, at very less price. All the curries are good in taste, but egg rice and Ghee rice are the best ones to try. Gravies are exquisite with perfect blend of masala. Though place is a delight for non vegetarians, vegetarians have good number of options to try. Quantity is price worthy and quality is too notch.

Going by the reviews and photos posted here, we decided to visit this place. But it was a disappointment, the place is not what one can see in the photos. The ambience was a big turn off for us. So we left without even ordering the food. If you are looking for a decent ambience avoid this place. The food might be good, but as we didn't order anything it will be wrong to comment on food.

We found this place after lots of search on google to find good place to have dinner. This place worth for all it's good reviews. We ordered north Indian and Chinese dishes, in both veg and non veg catagory. Food quality and taste is awesome and even quantity also more. Price is reasonable and worth for the taste. Staffs are kind. Here to sitting places bit congested and tables are small to accommodate food for 4 people, wash basin is not so clean and tissues were not kept on the table. Overall it's worth place to have dinner or lunch with family and friends.

I had purchased one chocolate cake, red wine, kadai chicken, dry pepper chicken, dal fry, jeera rice, rice, akki roti, chicken biryani, however I did not like the pepper chicken, kadai chicken taste as it was too much spicy. And they had forgot to pack rice also, which caused us little problem as we had travelled 25km from that location to our homestay and it was difficult for us to come back and take it. We had repeatedly asked them that is everything is packed, as we did not recheck that was our fault we ended up adjusting the food we took home. Recommend : Check your items then leave the shop. CAKE was very good, fresh and resonable, got it for 500/- (1kg) RED Wine was good and reasonable. (400/-) Biryani was okay okay. DAL FRY was comparatively good. Jeera rice was good. Chicken item was too spicy and not at all tasty. Price is resonable. We also had a hot and sour soup, that was full red in colour, too much sauce, not at all good. Lemon tea was the BEST among everything we had. I found Tiger and Tiger( near Raja Seat) better , little bit costly but pure homemade taste and you would definitely love the food and also the hospitality.

We ordered the Chocolate Truffle cake (500g) for my parents' wedding anniversary. It was a quick visit to Freeman's (and our first time) since we were on the go elsewhere. The cake was really rich and well balanced in terms of sweetness, which made it even more special for the occasion. We really loved the cake and it's a perfect treat for all the chocolate lovers! Strongly recommend Freeman's not just for their food but also for the geniune and humble hospitality.

Ordered Chinese Chechen. Noodles and fried rice which was good but garlic chicken was disappointing was made dry instead curry style also was smelling oil and hard ... need to refresh items and serve to few customers who come a now a days

Don't miss out! Visit Freeman's at least once when in madikeri. The owner is very sweet, humble. The service is amazingly quick. Everything we ordered came under 10 minutes ranging from starters to mains to desserts, and all freshly cooked and steaming. Dal khichdi and dal fry were very homely and tasty with no unnecessary spices. Paneer butter masala and veg kadai were as expected. Their phulkas!!! Please try them, so much like home. Best? Brownie with icecream. Absolutely stunning dessert. They serve desserts across madikeri. To top it all, prices are very very good.

The place might looks like a small bakery with limited tables, but the food here is very delicious and the service is fast. We ordered dum biriyani and kadai chicken with rotis, the biriyani was very delicious it's a must have dish if you like dum biriyani, kadai chicken was also delicious.

We went there after being served a disappointed food at fish curry rice restaurant. It's a very basic, home style restaurant. The owners are from Chennai and very customer oriented. They keep checking if everything was good. The food here is coorgi, Indian and Chinese. We ordered chilli fish, fries and garlic chicken. Nothing was amiss. Food was good and also total value for money. They also have fresh bakes, cakes , pastries, homemade wines.

Good ambiance, yummy food and amazing desserts. The chocolate brownie topped with ice cream here is really good and I'd recommend everyone to try it. The dry coorg pork is a good starter or the prawn chill is good as well if pork really isn't your thing. For the main course I'd suggest asking the lady for her specials and ordering based of what she has to say. As far as pricing goes I think the place isn't too heavy on the pocket, decent food has it's cons after all. I'm giving this place 4 starts, it could use a dusting every once in a while and the toilet could use some attention from time to time. Nevertheless, a decent experience with minimal discomfort.

We went as a family of four during lunch hours. Wanted to try the local cuisines and ordered akki roti and coorg style chicken curry. I would definitely suggest the chicken curry. The akki roti personally tasted to me as little burnt. Rest was fine. Their kerala porotta is also amazing. Great service.

It's a good restaurant with minimal and basic amenities which is less crowded yet very good food. We loved the quality of food provided by them with reasonable prices and good service. The owner is very friendly and humble . If looking for sea food and good price then this is the place in Coorg u should surely dine in for.👍👍👌

Recently we had visited restaurant it's the best in providing best dishes , chicken , boneless fish was super , best part was brownie ice cream with hot chocolate . Owner and family were very humble and nice in attitude and provided complimentary pineapple pastry.. since we visited both the times in same for lunch and dinner .. thank you sir and all the best ahead.

it is a nice and friendly place, run by Mr Alvin, a very nice man. the dishes which are our favourite here are their chicken biriyani and their pastries. we liked their pastries so much that we have tried to sample all if their pastry flavoures like black Forrest pineapple blueberry black current chocolate truffle strawberry litchi mixed fruit red velvet.... and many more yet to taste. black Forrest, pine apple and blue berry are my personal favourite. this is the best place to buy a cake in coorg... enjoy ur freeman pastry:)

Super tasty food..Coorg pork was really awesome

An old style of restaurant at Madikeri just before the Sudarshan circle. The vintage flavor is still there persists with setting arrangements at the long varandah from where the road can be seen. The building presence since British era with tiles roof and indoor decorations. The cake are famous here during the Christmas it's to get that due to demand.

The coorgi pork and chicken dry fry are absolutely amazing. All food is hot and fresh and super tasty. Even the chocolate truffle pastry was really good. Alvin was very welcoming and extremely helpful! Overall an excellent meal and would definitely come back.

Trust me.. This is the BAD restaurant ever. Don't go. Better to spent money somewhere else. Bad service. Just some attractive interior decoration is the only thing there you can see. Food is really bad. Very time consuming and they are buying food from somewhere else. Better to find another restaurant.

Good place to get a feel of local cuisine and local ambience. We wanted a taste of the local cuisine and therefore went for the Pandi curry, Chili pork, Coorgi chicken with kulchas. Really yummy food that's good for your throat too.

Tasty food and great service! We were looking for North Indian food and end up finding this place it is worth visiting their fulkas are like homemade. This place is known for its deserts and cakes please make sure you have one after your meals. Toilets are not very clean and hand wash tap was not working, basin was also not very clean when we visited but their tasty food compensated for all.
