Scandal Point is located towards the western side of the Ridge, Shimla, where two of the city's main roads , the Mall road and the ridge road converges. It is a famous address in a famous city and among the must visit spots for tourists. This point has a status of one of our leading freedom fighter, Lala Lajpat Rai. One of the most prominent point on the Ridge. Location: Easy to reach, walk down from the top of the Ridge. Cleanliness: The area is very well maintained and clean. Ambience: Calm, serene and beautiful. Entry fee; Free for all. Overall, a must place to visit at least once.

Best place to relax and enjoy the sunrise or sunset. Breeze everywhere.

Good place to hang around and take pictures. But the drawback is that educated local people have a habit of standing (no civic sense) in the middle of the way and disruption the people who are walking.

Famous for first high profile love scandal of India. Patiala Maharaj fell in love with viceroy daughter and got to know that she visited place regularly. He came on horse and took her away. A very famous place on Mall road, Shimla.

A prominent intersection at the Mall Road, the main street of Shimla. Scandal Point offers a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. You can find a sign board having the details of the popular places to be visited here. The name "Scandal Point" originated from a scandal involving the British Viceroy of India, Lord Kitchener, and a local woman. It has since become a famous tourist spot, known for its scenic beauty and historical significance.

If you are looking for amazing food go to this place, and just go to the food chains, don't go into the local restaurants specially for North Indian food.

Scandal Point in Shimla, where gossip sizzles hotter than chai and mountains pierce the sky like Bollywood heroes, is more than just a crossroad. It's a vibrant fiesta of history, street music, and souvenirs that whisper tales of Maharajas and Viceroys. Get lost in the Mall Road's shopping frenzy, soak in the colonial echoes of grand buildings, then gasp at the Himalayan panorama - all while monkeys watch for dropped samosas. From chai breaks to Bollywood nights, Scandal Point is a must-visit for anyone hungry for Shimla's spicy charm. Just remember, the only scandal might be how much fun you have!

Known as scandal point because Maharaja Patiala eloped with the Viceroys daughter and caused a lot of commotion in this area. Still reminiscent of the british era Shimla, buildings & the vibe still takes you back in time. Must visit for anyone travelling to shimla. Good old classic shimla restaurants here too like Alpha and Beekays.

Just a point the end of the mall road. Some 100m further there is a small park and the view is much better. But history why it's called scandal point is interesting

It is the point where the Mall, the route to the Ridge and that to the GPO meet. It is regarded by many to have got its name from where an erstwhile Maharaja of Patiala carried off a British Commander-in-Chief's daughter. While Bhupinder Singh, the Maharaja in question, is known to have cut a finger that was more than dashing, it is unlikely that the Maharaja or the lady would have been out on the streets airing their love.

Scandal Point in Shimla is a historic and picturesque location known for its scenic views and intriguing tales. The spot is surrounded by colonial architecture, making it a charming place to visit. The legend associated with the name adds an interesting dimension to the experience. However, the overall appeal may vary depending on individual preferences for historical sites. It's close proximity to various visit worthy places makes it a spot with heavy traffic ( of people) .
