Very impressive architecture and displays. I wish they were clearer regarding what is original and what is reproduction. They have translations for quite a few languages throughout. It's seemingly free on public holidays in Spain, but even if not, it's well worth the 3€ admission fee.

Best place to take social media content! The outside of the building has a spectacular architecture and it’s so pretty, however the inside is incredible too! Although the name suggest it’s all about ceramics, as it’s a palace museum, you can also enjoy the riches of the palace as each room is distinct and has its own beauty. The tickets cost €3 which I believe is super cheap for how big this museum is and you can spend all day in there taking pictures as it’s such a stunning place!

One of the highlights of Valencia. Went on Sunday and the entrance was free! Beautiful building from outside. Super interior which brought us back into time. Displayed items were well curated and interesting. Must visit!

Excellent palace building located in the heart of Valencia. It is home to a wonderful museum of decorative arts, ceramics, painting and furniture. The building was very well maintained. The artifacts and details are magnificent. There was a magnificent collection of chandeliers that illuminated his various rooms. Entry to the museum was free. Definitely a unique place to try. You will get lost in the details.

Wow I was impressed by those interiors way more than the ceramic exhibition itself. Rooms look beautiful, even better than in pictures I saw before. The entrance ticket is 3 euro, they also provide a free wardrobe for your luggage. Must see when visiting Valencia 🙌

A wide range of interesting pieces ranging from 18th century carriages to 20th century fine glassware. The house is beautifully preserved and maintained. For only 3€ admission you can see many intricate pieces of ceramics. Brilliant.

Besides its stunning façade, the exhibition inside the museum is worth visiting too. You can scan the QR codes to read the infomation in several languages (Spanish, Valencian, English, French). The entrance is free on Saturday in the afternoon and on Sunday.

Not bad for €1.50. Entry is €3 normally but half price with the Valencia Tourist Card. Lovely museum with nice items and beautiful murals. Easy to spend a hour here.

Beautiful building and interesting/eclectic collection. Well-worth visiting for the ticket price. I thought the interior design was more interesting than the ceramics collection (although some pieces were excellent). Can be cursory viewed in an hour or so.

We managed to see it for free. I’m not sure why though. We were lucky as we arrived just after opening and managed to enter immediately. For the rest of the weekend, there were massive queues to get in. The building is beautiful. Inside is a large mansion with in numerous objects of ceramic. As well as furniture. It’s very nice, and well worth a visit.

€3 euro entry. No water bottles or bags allowed! Really beautiful rooms. Make sure to look up at the ceilings.

Visited in April 2023, and it was definitely worth the stop. Beautiful, ostentatious interior to take in, but I think I was more impressed with the exterior, especially the front entry, amazing sculptures. We arrived quite late in the day, so we had to run through very quickly, but even if you have time on your hands I think a couple of hours would be plenty.

A very nice museum! Polite staff! Ceramics from different eras, very interesting finds, you find yourself in a completely different reality. The building in which the museum is located requires special attention, incredibly beautiful !! It is pleasant to spend a couple of hours, and even informative for both children and adults! Admission is free, on Sunday they are open until 14.00. I highly recommend !!!

Very nice historical museum to visit in Valencia. The ticket price is 3 Euro per person and there was no lines to enter. We visited on a Saturday and it was not crowded. The museum exterior dates back to 18th century and the architecture is mesmerising. There are three places to visit inside. Every floor has different kind of artifacts. On the ground floor you can find the antique carts and the valencian Tiles traditions. On the 1st floor you can find the antique ceramics and artifacts. There are also very well decorated antic palace dining halls, bed rooms, smoking rooms and kitchen. This is well worth of your money and time if you are interested in history and architecture. You can take pictures without flash. The tickets can be purchased on the entrance of the museum.

You must love plates and pottery in the baroque style. But when we visited this amazing globe was displayed. Can’t go wrong on the price since it’s only 3 euros. We spend around 40/50min inside. So good for a quick visit!

I love this museum! It was my second time last weekend! Sundays are free (not sure if all of them, but it was free last week). But even if - I think the price is only a couple of euros. I love the rooms in that building, things are well-preserved. The design and some items are gorgeous. This is my go-to museum when I am there :)

One of the most beautiful museums that I have seen. From architecture and luxurious old furniture to perfectly decorated plates and ornaments. 3 euro for entrance is too little for this beautiful collection of art. Definitely don’t miss. Highly recommend!

Fantastic place both from the inside and the outside. The entrance fee is just 3 euro and they also gave me 1 euro to use the locker for my bag. The exposition is really nice: interiors on the second floor and ceramics itself on the third. The ceramics is divided by periods — one room for each which simplifies perception. There’s even ceramics by Picasso, so you should definitely see it.

It’s not all ceramics, but mostly is 😅 Close to an hour spent here walking across the 3 floors checking out various pieces from different times. Upper floors are very reminiscent of an English county house with all the aritfacts they have acquired over the years. Good to see, just a bit meh

Fantastic museum located in very pretty building. If you have Valencia Card you only need to pay half the price.. Even without half the price, this place is totally worth your 3 euro. There are so much to see inside and really impressive. All the room are so grand and pretty.

The museum wasn’t really anything special. Apart than a couple interesting artifacts and the palace there wasn’t anything else of any particular importance. The museum entrance only costs 3€, but if you have the Valéncia Travel Card there is a 50% discount.

  • 5/5 Mida H. 1 year ago on Google
Finally able to visit this museum. The exterior of the building is very interesting. A bit of baroque style and the color tone blend with the surroundings. The entrance ticket is €3 and I would suggest you bring cash. Maybe it was only a bad luck that the person in front of me was forcing to much to pay with different cards until he realized that the problem was the connection 😅 We queue for nearly 10 minutes .bPkus, if you bring backpack you need to store it in the locker room with €1 coin to lock it. However, we discovered that the interior and the history were presented very well. The museum is well mantained. The video and pictures shared here speak better 🥰 Make sure you visit this place after you enjoy the great culinary that Valencia offers you

The ceramics museum did not turn out to be quite what I expected in fact I was I two minds when it was suggested as I am not such a great fan of ceramics. But what a mistake that would have been while the ceramics were interesting the building was the star of the show. The ceramics are housed in what was a Palace which still has its treasures on display. Frescos painting, furniture and beautiful artwork and sculptures. The entrance alone is over the top its a cascading monolithic marble sculpture reaching out from the walls of the Palace.

  • 3/5 Mark Edward C. 2 years ago on Google
The older parts of the Palace are beautiful but not so much the modern aspects, along with the display if modern ceramics. Worth a visit though and free entry!

  • 5/5 Simon H. 10 months ago on Google
This is a fantastic place to visit for the building alone which is incredible the detail of the marble is astonishing and I think the design of the buiding may originally have provided natural air conditioning ...something we should think about more to reduce the power requirements of modern buildings... im sure architects are all over this ...all this plus amazing exhibits

Gorgeous palatial house with a mix of ceramics and old state rooms. From carriages to furniture to ceramics. The outside is amazing. Definitely worth a visit

  • 3/5 Evelyn D. 4 years ago on Google
Beautiful building on the outside. Some beautiful pieces inside including the golden carriage. However at €3 each it seemed a bit much. You can see the carriage from the entrance. The worst part of the experience hence the 3 star rating is the staff. Gruff man at the ticket office who didn’t explain they were closing in 15 mins. Then quite aggressive woman on the door who wouldn’t let us take our bottle of water in unless we drank it all and put the empty bottle in my handbag. Not a bad experience but not amazing either. Slightly disappointing.

Definitely a place to visit in Valencia. Love the ceramic exhibition here! For only 3 EUR, my eyes had a feast!

  • 5/5 Freya S. 7 months ago on Google • 9 reviews
We loved it! It is partly a museum of really cool old ceramics and partly just a dope 18th century mansion with insane construction and decoration. We took our time and were done in under two hours. Free to enter on Saturdays after 4. Because we don't speak Spanish, it was more of a looking and less of a learning experience, although they do provide pamphlets with information in many languages, including English, as well as a downloadable pdf that you can read on your phone as you go.

The Museu Nacional de Ceràmica i de les Arts Sumptuàries Gonzàlez Martí is a treasure trove of ceramic art and sumptuous artifacts. While it offers limited interaction, the diverse collection across three floors is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the region. It's a must-visit for art and history enthusiasts.

This place is really awesome! Certainly one of the nicest places to visit in Valencia. It's amazing how they did to preserve so much stuff. In times of COVID-19 good measures were being taken to avoid much risk (but it did feel a little bit too full sometimes).

  • 5/5 Dubravko B. 2 years ago on Google
Impressive building of the Marquis, everything is decorated and just stops your breath, a must see. Hats down to the person who saved this building (an arts museum curator that gave the state all of thier potary collection in return for them to buy the building and let him renovate and maintain it)

  • 5/5 Tori 2 years ago on Google
Definitely worth the stop. One of the things I love most about Spain is how the outsides and insides of the buildings are both beautiful often in contrasting ways. The exterior had an intricate carved stone facade while the interior had rooms with opulence reminding me of Versailles.

Wonderful palace, worth a visit. A pity most of the pieces exposed don't have a description. But some rooms are wonderful, as some of the furniture displayed

  • 2/5 Paweł Jasiński (Gerard H. 2 years ago on Google
Very disappointing. The building is beautiful and interesting, but the exposition - not so much. The staff doesn't speak English and there are no English signs in the building. There are QR codes, but some don't work and it takes ages to scan and open them. The exposition is just a collection of ceramics - there's little educational value, and no description of the process of making ceramics, about the ceramic trade and the people who made them. Very outdated for a museum.

  • 5/5 mark m. 2 years ago on Google
This museum has a wonderful collection of ceramics! Beautiful interiors of historic significance. Any Student of Art or pottery/Ceramics will be amazed at the extent of the collection. You can see historical influences that Picasso ( there are a few of his works here) used in the 20th century from the 14th century.

There are two reasons to visit this museum: the palace of the Marqués de Dos Aguas and the artefacts of the museum. The style of the palace is a mixture of rococo and neoclassic style. Although the exterior has been decorated in a most extreme way, it somehow fits. The collection of the museum consists mostly of ceramics but added to that are costumes, paintings and furniture. The two carriages deserve some special attention as well. Free from admission it is one of the more interesting musea of Valencia.

  • 4/5 Paola M. 2 years ago on Google
Nice museum with free entry. The ceramics itself didn’t impressed me as the interior of the building, ceilings and design in general.

  • 5/5 Cynthia H. 2 years ago on Google
In my opinion, this palace is a must see not only for the ceramic on display but for the building itself dating back to 15th century, it is considered by historians as paragon of nobility and opulence. I was much impressed with the marble craftmaship among other things

  • 3/5 George B. 2 years ago on Google
Disappointing, passive learning for the visitors, non-interactive.

The National Pottery and Ceramics Museum of Valencia is a double program: in the first floor, you get to see a stunning example of urban palace in evolution from the XIV to the XVIII Centuries, while in the second floor one can visit a complete collection of pottery and decorative ceramic. Excellent for a quick sightseeing… Enjoy!

  • 4/5 Gerben van O. 1 year ago on Google
I was not going for the ceramics, but more for the building and its history. If you are not Spanish speaking then you can download a pdf per room with helpnfrom a qr-code. My personal opinion on this: it worked, but was a bit too much work. Nevertheless the old rooms and kitchen were great to see. Some rooms were a bit too modern (walls, floor). Price/quality: top

We happened to walk by this museum while visiting Valencia, and discovered this hidden gem. We were so delighted to find this place even MORE happy to discover it was FREE admission. As the name implies, this museum is dedicated to Porcelain amd Ceramics - BUT it is SO much more than that. What first attracted us to this museum was the ornate building. As it turns out, the building was a palace named Palace of the Marqués de Dos Aguas. The museum has been housed in the palace since 1947. The exquisite wall and ceiling paintings throughout entralled me as much as the exhibits. Several rooms of the palace have the original furnishings that highlight their elegance and style. Unfortunately l, all of the signs were in Spanish, but I will attach photos anyway- as I believe they speak for themselves. I highly recommend this museum while in Valencia. Did I mention that it is free? :)

Beautiful palace with a very interesting exhibition of pottery and ceramics. Also a wonderful display of artisan fans at the time of our visit. Entry free for pensioners with proof of age.

Excellent building, amazingly beautiful pieces of ceramics exposed inside. Incredibly beautiful halls and absolutely unique some of the exhibits. One of the best museums in Valencia

Definitely this place should be visited. There are many gorgeous seramic arts in there. Especially the ornaments on the walls and furnitures, should be seen. You can have free entrance with Valencia tourist card.

  • 4/5 R J. 1 year ago on Google
The building itself, which has its origins in the late-1400's, was more interesting to me than much of the contents. It underwent a number of renovations and expansions, inhabited as a palace into the 19th century. The ceramics collection mostly was not "striking", however it is still a good value for the few Euros you might pay to enter. It is free for retirees, presenting proof of age. I did love the children's carriage, the kitchen, and the piece called "Dish of Deception" (Plato de Engaño) which looks like peanut butter cups.

  • 4/5 tony v. 1 year ago on Google
Old ceramics building that cost 3€ to enter. Walk around the 4 stories with a lift if needed at old artifacts, painting and old world furniture. Some rooms are very ornate. Must pay 1€ to lock up backpacks.

Interesting 🧐 Museo and really beautiful, but problem is because staff are really unprofessional, low comunicate.

  • 5/5 Sue G. 3 years ago on Google
I went to see the palace. Definitely worth a visit, opulent rooms which are beautiful along with the architecture. A must see for a short visit.
