Tadiandamol - It is the 1st highest peak in Coorg and 3rd highest in Karnataka. it’s located near Kakabe (Near Coorg) close to Virajpet (25km). Trek Difficulty level - Moderate. Suitable for Freshers, Families and pro trekkers. Trek distance - 4 km trek from base camp (Nalknad Palace), Trek path is easily visible through out the trail. Time required - 5-6 hrs required to reach the peak. Descending can be done in 2-3 hrs., Accommodation / Camping - Camping site 1: On the way to Peak A huge rock available which is 2.5 km from Base camp (Nalknad Palace), here water source available and best place for camp. Camping site 2: At the peak only 4 to 6 tents can accommodate and water source is not available. Too much wind might give disturbance to camp but its a lot worth stay. Home stay option: There is another route to the peak of Tadiyandamol from Honey Valley Estate, its a home stay with very good accommodation and food facility, the Home stay has a private water falls too. this home stay can be easily found in google. Good for families/Couples to explore the nature also for Wildlife birds photographers. Food - No Food facilities available on the hill or Peak. Only at the base camp can find some local shops. Please carry food if your planning to camp. Permission - No Trekking fee or permission required from Forest office. Things to carry - Shoes, rain coat, tent, sleeping bag, torch or headlamp, enough water bottles, emergency first aid kit, energy savers, fruits, energy bars, cookies, importantly camera. 😇 Precautions - Take some prevention from leeches in rainy season, and from heat in summer, no worry about wild animals, carry enough water to avoid dehydration, carry torch if your camping on the hill. Experiences - Stay at mountain is the best moment of our life, Sunrise/Sunset beauty is mind blowing, An adventure feel of one of the summit in Karnataka. Trek Route - Stage 1: Nalknad palace (Base Camp) to Big rock. 2.5 km. Camping site 1, water source available and less wind. Initially trek will go inside forest and then it will leads to open grassland. Stage 2: Big rock to Peak, 1.5 km. only 4-6 tents can accommodate, high wind. Trek will be very scenic with wide open beauty and later steep will increase near the peak. Nearby places to see: Chomakunda small trek, Chelavara waterfalls, Nalknad palace, Malethirike Bhagavathi Temple, Nishani motte trek, Bhagamandala & Tala kaveri. Currently this place is temporarily Closed due to the presence of some elephants and tigers(we were told this by the forest department officials at the entrance) Hard to get there and no notifications or posters at the entrance of the road. The road to get to trek start point is extremely risky and dangerous. Bikes might be able manage to get up there with some difficulty at their own risk. Do not waste your time and efforts to get there. You could visit Kabbe Hills and Chalavera waterfalls instead. Hit a like if this was helpful 😊

Excellent place to hike. The hike is moderate, the total length of the hike form peak to forest check post is 4km one way. It goes through 2 sets of forest and dry land to get to the peak. The trail is very obvious, there is a 100inr entry fee at he check post (mostly cash). One can drive all the way to the available parking spot, from where the check post is 800m. If you have a good off-roader you can drive all the way to the check post and park there. They usually do not allow solo. When I went there were elephants on the trail, I saw none but elephant dung was all over the place. The view from the peak is excellent you can see the Kabbe hill from there.

One of the best treks in Coorg. There is no designated parking yet as they are still constructing the road up to an entry point, but you can park along the way and start trekking wherever the road block is present. After that it is a 5km trek and completely worth it. ₹250 is the entry ticket and do take food and water along with a cap or sunglasses and don’t litter! There’s only one track you have to follow, indiahike website also has a well laid out explain of the same

This is a perfect place for trekker groups that have both first timers and regular trekkers. There are simple trails to follow for a few kilometres and then are deep forest trails with tree roots making the way to climb. There are lot of steep climbs and few of those can be very challenging because of rocks and sliding muddy routes The view from top is worth all sweat and effort. Beware of leaches and there are many 😀

We took 3.5 hours for round trip trekking. Drones are not allowed. Carry water bottles.. There is nothing upside. ₹250 per head. Vehicles are not allowed

The Trek was physically demanding. Once we reached the top, there were endless mountains and clouds at sight. Having a trekking pole or stick can make the trek easier. The entry fee is ₹250.

An amazing trek for adventure seekers. 3rd highest peak in Karnataka. It is an easy to moderate trek and most of it is a trail to follow. We did in the month of February but it will be really awesome If you do it post monsoons.

Good hiking place. It takes about 2 hrs from forest check post, if weather is cool and without break.

Beautiful place, keep some extra snacks for dogs. There are few dogs which accompany trekkers till the top of the mountain.

Easy to climb. But be careful of the leaches during monsoon. TOO MANY LEACHES.

Challenging trek- not recommended for beginners Carry atleast 1.5L or water for each person Carry salt (there are a lot of leaches) No guide required Get a good pair of trecking shoes. Recommended to carry some sweet candys and calories packed food.
