I recently visited this amazing coffee shop Kiss the Hippo Coffee in Richmond and I must say, it was an absolute delight! The (owner) of the shop was incredibly polite and helpful, making my experience there all the more enjoyable. The hospitality was truly remarkable and I felt right at home. This coffeeshop is known for its excellent coffee and top-notch service. Customers rave about the expertly crafted drinks, made with high-quality beans and served by love. The coffee it self was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. I highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a warm and friendly environment to enjoy a cup of coffee. The café itself is cozy and inviting, with plenty of seating both indoors and out. It has a relaxed atmosphere and comfortable seating, making it a great spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and catch up with friends or get some work done In addition to the delicious coffee, Kiss the Hippo also offers an impressive selection of baked goods, including pastries, cakes, and cookies. I recommend trying the croissants and other treats, which are baked fresh daily Overall, Kiss the Hippo Coffee in Richmond is a great place to grab a cup of coffee or tea, enjoy tasty baked goods, and relax with friends or work on your own. An excellent experience and I will definitely be returning soon It's always great to find a business that goes the extra mile for their customers.

The unusual name and having exhausted all cafes in the area, I decided to try this one. I was pleased to see that the baristas were knowledgeable and took pride in what they do. They boast of their special roasts and I was indeed not disappointed with the artisan double machiato with the precise amount of milk (in contrast to its neighbour Amorino!). They also offer NHS discount, which is great! I also came upon merchandise that was for sale which adds diversity to their services. The only feedback to make the service better, might be to start a loyalty card scheme and display the fact that they offer NHS Discount, like other restaurants and cafes, so that people don't miss out of them. I sure did! I will have to remember this on my next visit.

Wonderful little coffee paradise in Richmond. Organic single estate coffees served smilingly. Perfect morning location to sip and people watch 😁☕️❤️

I came to Kiss the Hippo because if Jamie Tartt likes it then it must be good!! It's a really lovely coffee shop with friendly staff, great coffee, and adorable merchandise. Sitting outside on a nice day is a great way to enjoy a bit of Richmond.

Top notch coffee, quite reasonable considering where it is. Liked the coffee roasting going on while I was there. 'nuff said! This Shop has moved a short distance since I reviewed it in November 2019.

Really good speciality coffee with wide selections of coffee origins. Very welcoming staff. They have indoor and outdoor tables but the indoor is a bit tight.

This was probably the most disappointed I have ever been in visiting a coffee shop. I was soo looking forward to coming ever since I had come across their coffee as a guest at a local shop (& review on Caffeine mag). I must admit I love the name too which also had an appeal. There is limited seating currently and the upstairs is still closed. There is still plenty of gear available as well as coffee on the shelves. I think what I was disappointed by was the service. Had to shout my order a few times over the masks but wasn't impressed with the attitude. The coffee wasn't really great but fair play to them they did offer to redo it which was much better. I guess I just heard really good things and expected so much more. The roaster is open M-F so I suspect you will have another experience if you went then.

Impressive specialty coffee shop in the heart of Richmond. Attentive and helpful staff and the interior is modern and welcoming. The long black was very good and comparable to the best craft coffee shops in central London. Great selection of baked goods, especially the apple and walnut muffin. Will certainly be visiting again

Specialty coffee extracted beautifully across a variety of drinks. I had a Brazilian single origin cortado and sampled lattes with both dairy and oat. All were brilliant but the way that blend went with the textured milk was divine. They had a great selection of home brewing equipment on sale too should you be a hobbyist. Wonderful!

I've been a loyal customer of Kiss the Hippo in Richmond for the past 5 years since its opening. Over time, I've enjoyed their excellent coffee and impeccable execution. However, I've noticed a recent decline in the quality of their offerings. The staff now occasionally produces coffee that is comparable to what you might find at Starbucks. Given the price of £4 for a coffee, this is quite disappointing and not up to the standard I've come to expect.

Overall: ★★★★☆ A solid four stars for this spotlessly clean coffee shop in Richmond. The coffee was good. Above average.,Service was also good. You’ll find Kiss the Hippo directly opposite Waitrose a moment from its previous location on George Street. Food: Coffee shop with usual pastries on a glass shelf What I liked: • They sell Pump Street chocolate. Premium! • Good, friendly service • Spotlessly clean • Very slick set up • Nice simple menu • Lovely, simple layout • Nice range of merch • Very good coffee (the main event!) What I didn’t like: • Quite high price point • Could be considered too sterile for some • The correlation between a hippo and coffee Do I recommend going? YES Will I go again? YES Was it good value? NO Price Point: $$

If you are looking for a good strong flat white coffee made to perfection then this place will not disappoint. Given its location it can be busy, though the barista do take their time preparing the coffee . Worth checking out if you are in town.

Bold statement but probably the best coffee I’ve had in London to date! I know the seating is limited at the moment due to Covid but the service was great and the barista was really friendly. I definitely would come back!

Great roaster. I’ve bought a few really good African coffees from them. They are all well rounded. Their Ethiopia Gesha was sweet and fruit forward with a pleasant floral, tea-like aroma. They do their greens justice, good variety of origins and roast profiles for whatever you’re into. They’ve got chocolatey caramelly medium roasts with a good deal of sweetness as well as things like the Gesha I got from them. The staff are friendly, and they can usually make a good recommendation depending on what you’re into. Do consider visiting :)

Okay coffee, but not my favorite that we had in Richmond. I ordered a cortado, and the milk was steamed a bit too hot, leaving a burnt aftertaste. Small space with limited seating, and very popular! So many people in + out of their doors while we were sitting with our coffee.

The gals working were welcoming and kind. Coffee was okay but the pastries were divine!

My review after more than 10+ visits. The pros: - Very nice clarity on the batch brew coffee. Great flavour separation and consistently good. - Consistent and good espresso based coffee. The cons: - Usually slightly under extracted pour over coffee. £8 Panama Gesha only had acidity but didn’t pick up any sweetness or finish. - No customer service. You have to pick the coffee up yourself at the counter.

Best coffee in Richmond! Have tried all of the proper coffee shops, this one has consistently served the best coffee. Chatting to the barista, they actually knew about the coffee washing process, roast styles and origins. They obviously had a passion for coffee themselves and you can taste this in the well calibrated and utilised machines they use! Highly recommended.

Love you new juices , good work with your coffees. Lovely barista indeed, really appreciate the effort to try to explain me reward benefit, thank you for that .

Watery coffee 😭😭 have tried their cappuccino, their flat white, their macchiato, and even their single origin espresso but same watery flavour across them all. No discernible difference in the single origin. Sadly low quality across the board. Super rude female staff member who snapped at my partner and me on our most recent visit, despite our being the only customers in the entire shop. All in all- would not recommend! Can find much better, without the attitude.

The coffee is 10 out of 10 the best in Richmond! The service is great too. I miss the previous location. This is a small store not warm and cosy and very clinical but great if you taking away or not planning to sit for long!

Latte was oddly sour to the point of questioning whether the (almond) milk was off - unfortunately meaning that it didn’t taste much like coffee. Do not recommend, had to leave half of it! Definitely not worth the price either.

Coffee is always amazing! Big fan of every single origin beans they sell. Amazing staff, always nice and helpful. Nice and clean shop. Excellent latte art. Definitely recommend:)

Wasn't very clean. Coffee was expensive and average. Same with the service. Was expecting more from this brand cafe. Great looking space and retail section tho.

Took my nana here for a birthday brunch. Very cute place with nice food especially the pastries, but it is quite expensive to be honest but we both left with smiles on our faces and we took photos of our animal pattern drinks to show the fam!

What a coffee shop! Just wow! Beautiful, modern interior and coffee is really good. Considering this is located in a very busy high street, the ambience is very calm and peaceful. Love the skylight and the coffee roaster at the store. It is so cool and I love that they allow you to go in to look at the roaster. I would love to see it in action! Seeing all the equipment and the coffee accessories makes me want to be a barista! The brownie is excellent and my friend has scrambled eggs and that was also really good. This is not a place you should hurry! I thought it would be expensive but I was pleasantly surprised that the price was pretty fair!

Excellent for coffee in Richmond! These guys are friendly and consistent! Is my go to place when around. Not many indoor places to sit currently, but perfect for a window perch or take out!

New staff so unfortunately not as good as the previous incarnation in Richmond or on par with the service you’d expect to get at the Fitzrovia store but still a decent weekend coffee destination.

This is a consistently bad coffee. I have tried it over 20 times and they can consistently not make a cappuccino. There is no difference if you order latte, cappuccino or flat white- you get the same jug of milk that dillutes the coffee. Beware of the pastries, literally 50% of the time they are very stale, over a day, which for bite sizes at£3 is a bit too much. Any other coffee shop in 3 min walk each direction is materially better all around. No point visiting

Worst customer service ever. I bought a pack of coffee from their online shop on 28th December, due to system error it showed my order as collection. I called their number literally a minute after to explain. They assured me that it would be fixed not to worry. I also received an email confirmation that it will be sent to the address no need to worry. 2 weeks later.. no communication on their side.. I tried to communicate first they told me it was due to holidays and it would be sent on January4th.. Today i reached out once again - they were like your order was a collection.. Seriously all those emails and phone calls were for nothing. they have refunded me. No apology whatsoever.

Amazing coffee spot in Richmond. On the way to Richmond park from the train station - this is the only spot with amazing tasty coffee and desserts. Also easy to be eco-friendly with stuff like: reusable cup or compostable coffee capsules. All of that you can bought here. And even more. My fav is hippo pin. Taste your morning filter or flat white with brownie. And enjoy this amazing life.
