Very good place for walking and scenic place. Big parking area for cars and two wheeler Boating in the lake is very pleasant. Fish aquarium has entry fees seperately.

Chetpet lake (Chethupattu Aeri) is a lake spread over 16 acres in Chetput, Chennai, India. It is located to the north of Chetpet railway station. It is the only existing lake at the centre of the city. The lake belongs to the Department of Fisheries of the Tamil Nadu government. Of the total area of the lake, the waterbody is spread across 9.1 acres and the land area covers 6.9 acres. An anglers club was functioning till the 1940s in the lake, whose members visited the small island in the midst of the waterbody for fishing.[2] Although not used for drinking purposes, the lake was a source of groundwater recharge for the surrounding areas. As the water quality is not saline, the lake has a few varieties of fishes such as rohu, catla and mrigal. Breeding is monitored to assess the water quality.

It was a pleasant experience in chetpet lake. We felt like we were in some European countries. The lake has picturesque view due to blooming flowers such as bougainvillea, etc. Greenery, water, fun and aquarium.. all in one place.. the place is clean and calming. Must visit if you want to escape from the concrete jungle.

Catch an early morning sunrise at this place if you’re nearby. Totally worth it.

A very quiet and calm place to relax... Greenery allover... Entry ticket was rps 25 for adults no outside food is allowed ..they have a aavin parlour and a food court inside ... boating and fishing also available... gaming centre and cafe is also available...a small park for kids to play... Benches everywhere to sit and relax...two entrances are there one on the road side and other one just opposite to chetpet railway station... Monthly walking passes are also there at reasonable prices. Good place to read,write and relax.

Well maintained. Parking 11 RS per hour for bike 24 rs per hour for car. 25 rs entrance fees. In the evening you can go upto a mark for visiting . After that you cannot go, as it is for only walking peoples and those who are paying monthly pass for walking. I don't like it personally.

Beautiful lake, surrounded by trees and plants.. there is a walking track around the lake.. people come here for walking, jogging, meditation and exercising.. it's peaceful and early morning fresh air.. cleanliness is maintained inside the premises..you can see ducks and fishes in the lake..

Good place for a walk, boating, and a small play area for kids. Aquarium has not been well maintained, this was our 2nd visit and it was shocking to see how many of the fishes were gone
