Loved their sushi and the noodle soup. Just a random find but really loved there ambience and the food. The person serving us was an awesome guy(missed his name). Very prompt service. Will go back again and again for sure

The owner is gracious and attentive. The nigri was fresh and very good. The entrees were more suited to white suburbanites as I am of Asian origin, they were toned down but not bland. I would have preferred a more spicy taste. But the dinong experience was quite good.

Still a great place for Chinese food in the north West suburbs of Chicago. But this time, it felt like the chef made a few changes and the food was not up to the amazing taste I was always used to. Definitely worth trying.

This is our absolute favorite place in the burbs. Honestly, the food is 10/10 and the staff is awesome. We will keep coming back!! Personally, I love the crispy beef and the honey glazed walnut shrimp. Get them both!!!

Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Food is delicious and the team is awesome. We’ve been coming here for years and ordering sushi most of the time - Philadelphia phenomenon, Kamikaze, spicy tuna, lettuce wraps and pan fried potstickers are some of our favorites.

I feel kind of sad to write this post. I've always really liked Sun Shui and I was very excited for their time off to see what changes they'd be making. I don't know what happened but on my first visit back since they reopened, almost everything felt off. The server (not the usual, middle aged guy who's amazing) was ho-hum and the food tasted greasy. I'll give it one more try because I've loved Sun Shui so much in the past but this most recent experience was definitely blah.

Amazing quality food. My family usually stays away from beef at a lot of Asian restaurants because it's tough but the beef here is super tender. The egg rolls are also a must try.

My first and last time at this establishment. I was in town for work and had a last minute dinner with my parents and sibling. We decided to go here since it was in the area we were in and had decent reviews. What a terrible idea. We had an older gentleman take our order and was quite rude. I wasn’t hungry and opted to have a lighter meal. Another family member and I decided to share a dish and he comments, “that’s all you’re ordering? That’s not enough.” Then he proceeds to look at each one of us. It was very awkward and cringeworthy. How is this man going to decide how much I eat for dinner? I try to brush it off. I ask him how large is a particular dish since from how he’s reacting, he’s making it seem like it’s tiny. Then he makes a large hand gesture and I respond with, “that’s fine.” Then he replies, “are you sure?” At this point I should have left, but my elderly parents were hungry, it was cold outside, and we just wanted to spend time with each other. We eventually get our food, which was more than enough. Then when it comes time to pay, I give him my credit card and he starts making these very unsolicited comments about my card: “wow nice card you must have a great credit score to have a card like this!” I definitely do not recommend this place. You can find subpar food elsewhere. There are many other options out there. Don’t let the high rating fool you.

So, I used to be quite a regular at this restaurant, and loved everything about it. But in the last year, I haven’t really visited this place, and today I went there and it was totally different from what it used to be. First of all, I noticed that most of the staff were gone. Then, there was this older waiter that had gray hair, he was awful. I was ordering food, and he did not catch everything I ordered. I ordered this dish, but he brought me a totally different thing, when I told him that it was different, he said that that’s what I ordered. Then it turns out that he brought me a different dish because it had a similar name, so instead of just apologizing for the mistake and bringing me what I ordered, he just stood there and said “so what do you wanna do about it?!” with an attitude. He ended up bringing me what I ordered. He was really rude and with an attitude, not even once apologized for the mistakes he did. I also work in this industry, but never even once acted or seen anybody acting like him. The other waitress, I don’t know her name but I think she might be the manager, is always great, love her. The sushi overall was great, but we ordered fried chicken and there was blood coming out of it. Honestly i don’t know if I might come back here, even if I do that would a takeout sushi and not anything else because the service was horrible.

This was our first time here. We were seated right away & the host & server were both very nice. I really liked the atmosphere. It was warm & inviting yet modern. We ordered crab ragoon - of course- it was good. Our meals were walnut shrimp & something trio - both were really good & the portions were good. We weren't in the mood for sushi but what we saw prepared looked great & we'll go back and try it. Overall, we really liked the place & will return.

Absolutely fantastic! The food at Triple Star is superb. The flavors are amazing, and what sets it apart is the absence of an oily aftertaste – truly impressive.

we have been going to Sun Shui for Chinese food for well over 20 years and have always been happy with the food. Recently they changed their menu, eliminated all our favorites, and the new items we ordered last night were entirely mediocre. We are doubtful to return.

I’ve forever been a fan of sun shui, citing on multiple sites that they’re the best in the burbs for Chinese take out. Tonight we ordered hot and sour soup (always a fav) and mixed veggies in brown sauce. Husband got the pot stickers. Soup was tasteless and oily. Veggies were rather overdone and tasteless as well. Pot stickers were fine (I didn’t eat them). I’ll give them another shot since they’ve always been so good, but my thoughts are new owner maybe? New chef? Something is amiss for sure….

We have been going to Sun Shui for more than 20 years for excellent Chinese food. Last night we discovered their new menu and all of our favorites are gone. The food we ordered was entirely mediocre in taste. We won’t be going back- very sad

Unfortunately, Sun Shui restaurant is not what it used to be. Egg rolls were large but not filled with anything substantial. We had 4 different entrees at my table and one of them was the fried chicken that was new on the menu. Skip the fried chicken altogether as it was very dry. The other meals, shrimp teriyaki, salmon teriyaki and lo main were just average. The women’s bathroom needs plumbing attention as the stench is strong. I was hoping to enjoy my return to the restaurant dining area since it has recently reopened but it was not to be. We miss the old Sun Shui restaurant with delicious fish and egg rolls.

My family and I have been going to Ms. Chen’s restaurant for years. Her pallet is one that is enjoyable to many, for her dishes all taste amazing and there’s something for everyone. I’ll miss the dried chilli chicken but I’m still supportive of this restaurant nonetheless. A great place to bring family and friends.

Fantastic! We had the beef lo mein and chicken with vegetables. All fantastic. We also grabbed some sushi to go that was amazing. I will come back for more sushi for sure. Our waiter Tim was equally fantastic. Very attentive and fast.

The food was amazing, but our server Wendy was very rude. She was very short with our entire group, and was very unprofessional. While paying, she was standing over me while asking where her tip was after being rude the entire time. At one point she had walked away and started shaking her head in annoyance after 3 people ordered ice cream. I heard her audibly sigh after I for a Sprite. Very rude. Super unprofessional. I'm disappointed.

The servers both times were very attentive. The sushi was great. The other menu items (meat) was great tasting but next time I will make sure it's stir fried not just fried. Pleasant atmosphere and very clean restrooms.

This was my second time coming to this restaurant. I ordered the Pad Thai and the sweet-and-sour chicken. Pad Thai was good. I would get the pad Thai again. I wouldn’t order the sweet-and-sour chicken again and I wouldn’t recommend anyone ordering the sweet-and-sour chicken because the sweet-and-sour chicken tasted like I was eating McDonald’s chicken nuggets. this restaurant tends to be very pricey. It was just me and my husband here and it was $60 with tip for two people. I think that is a little pricey for just two people.

I love Sun Shui!! Every time I go in, the staff is so friendly, the vibe is serene, and the food is absolutely delicious! Plus it's not terrible on your pocket book at all.

They have a section of their menu labeled “vegan sushi”!! Also had veggie fried rice without egg, add tofu. The fried rice was yummy too- had lots of different veggies in it. The space and environment was also enjoyable, and all the staff was very nice and attentive. Looking forward to next time ☺️
