Very strategically located in the entrance to George Town, just in front of the western gate of the High Court, historically it might be to provide quick access to church services to the British, now it is mostly seen organizing sporadic functions.

A Protestant Church, a school established by John Anderson, an Irsih missionary which was converted as Church at a latter stage. The School was upgraded as Madras Christian College and shifted to Tambaram.

The Madras Christian College was started at this campus in 1867, initially as a school and later became a college in 1876. The College was later moved to Tambaram in 1937 and only the Church operates from the campus. The Chapel was originally called College Chapel, but later came to be known as Anderson Church, after the death of Anderson.

It was completely new type of church the church was small but the history of the church and the date it was established was so older and this is a place that can give you inner peace and is located exactly in the main road which is clearly visible from the main road .

Very peaceful inside the church, in the busy commercial roads(opp to Madras high court), one can feel silence inside the church. Regardless of caste, religion, social class all are welcome inside. Allowed for personal prayer inside.
