Very calm place. The temple is build on top of this hill during Pandiyan reign. Even today we can see the steps sculpted by them. Now, we are seeing the steps created by lord's devote. The lord Siva lingam is quiet small and facing west. Also, we have shrines for Godess Balambigai facing north and Godess Mayilambigai facing east. There's a separate shrine for Sithar in north and Kanimar near to that. Lord Vinayagar is at the entrance of temple. KalaBairavar in the north-east corner. Maduraiveeran is on the way near the temple and near the karuvarai. You can see many 'Ponarali' trees on the way. Pradosham, Sivarathri are very special here. Annadhanam will be provided on these days to devotees. It's advised to visit the temple on day time. Trekking is impossible when there's less time. It is hard terrain as the steps are carved from rocks. On the way, you can see musical rock called as Kinnara parai. People stay there sometimes and have good Darshan.

Beautiful and thrilling place. Really a good place for people who love treking. A shivan temple is there. It is a reserved forest so be careful we saw snake and monkey. And don't forget to wear your slippers, without slippers it will be very hard to walk on the heated steps. And it will be very risky to go to the top of the mountain. But it will be adventurous.we have to take water no water or food at there. After 3 pm no one will be allowed here to go there. We have to be careful at some places. There will be 2 water resources there but it is not good for drinking it is obtained by rain. Don't go there with empty feet.

Approximately 1.5kms with 450mts of elevation gain with 32% gradient. If you are really fit you can climb in 30 mins if you are taking more than 1 hour work on your fitness.

Great worship place to visit Lord Shiva in lingam shape and human shape.. it was built in the period of Pandians .. Every பிரதோஷம் சிவராத்திரி of a month is special especially in ஆடி18 is a festival day... Every Day is open either climb before 10am or after 2pm and they won't allow you after 3pm.. we can stay in the temple with some procedures by the temple instructors... climbing can took 1.00hr-1.30hrs depends on individual but very risky climbing at the top.. avoid climbing in rainfall season.. water in the temple is excellent
