The facility and staff are great. Our kids love going and I'm thinking about getting on the family plan for some boxing and Jiu-Jitsu. Update: 6 months later and we still enjoy it. The kids alternate between boxing and Jiu-Jitsu. They are challenged and have fun.

SDBJJ is a warm and welcoming gym that provides top level jiu jitsu instruction for all ages, shapes, and sizes. There are always multiple black belts on the mats and everyone is willing to share knowledge. This school is top notch for sure.

This is the best place I have trained at. They offer a wide range of classes to keep you engaged: bjj, judo, Muay Thai, boxing, and fitness classes. I am so happy to have a chance to work on both grappling, and a striking discipline. And even to work on take down with Judo. The only thing that is better than their schedule is the people. The coaches are knowledgeable, funny, and approachable. The students are helpful. Highly recommended for everyone.

My husband and three daughters have been training at SDBJJ for years. This has been a second family to us and we could not be more grateful. Sensei Paulo and his team are truly amazing. We started bringing our kids little over a year ago, and SDBJJ has been great for our them. Aside from the obvious boxing, jiu jitsu and judo skills they’re learning, their confidence and physical growth is through the roof. The various coaches and senseis are very supportive and while it’s a lot of work, they make it fun for the kids too. Paulo, his family, and staff make this place feel like home for many. Also, he’s really good with names…!

The best place for anyone looking to start training or improve their game. Sensei Paulo and Sensei Adam go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. Paulo puts an emphasis on his students feeling comfortable and confident, cultivating a great setting for families to come train together. I joined about 3 years ago, and my dad joined shortly after I did, I think we would both agree it was one of the best decisions we've ever made.

Truly a great place to learn. All of the instructors are knowledgeable and encouraging, and there is a special culture at this gym that I haven't seen anywhere else. Everyone is eager for newbies to succeed, and this has made all the difference to me. I highly recommend SDBJJ if you are looking for a place to get started.

This is the best BJJ school for miles around. Teachers here are great. Ive mainly learned from Wesley, Jason and Adam, and they are AMAZING teachers. I went from no training to fighting pretty decently in ~4 months. This is a really great school that allows you to go at your own pace. WOULD recommend highly.

Senseis Paulo, Adam, Sal, Jason and all of the other coaches are extremely attentive. This is a gym where every coach knows everyone’s names as well as their motivations to train BJJ - kids and adults alike. They encourage hard work while also prioritizing a safe and fun learning environment. I can’t recommend this gym enough.

Its been a while since I trained there but a review is long overdue. I will carry Paulo’s team Muay Thai teachings to the grave with me, even after this long all the little corrections and adjustments to my stance, foot work and skill still come out and when I am training I remember Coach Jesus saying “Hands up, what your step, jump over the puddle for the jab…” Outstanding Dojo!

Looking for a school dedicated with great program tailored for kids through adults their low student to teacher ratio allow work on confidence building, discipline, self esteem, focus. Wide range of martial arts, boxing, self defense and physicals fitness. Top of the line. Do yourself a favor look around and see what you get at other schools. Then visit and speak to the people at SDBJJ. The best example is look at classes and the number of classes you get and the caliber of the instruction. Adults and children this is the place to be if you want the best. Newly upgrade and advanced coaching staff. The smaller coach to athlete makes it out standing for kids and adults. Many classes start with an early bird into evenings and classes 6 days a week. Special classes.

This is where we take my niece's and nephew to learn self protection and boxing. Highly recommend it for all ages.
