Beautiful well paved and maintained trail. Lots of wildlife to view. Different terrain and environments to see. Varying settings of swamp, farms, woods and city areas. Family friendly and always seems safe. Sunscreen, hydration, bug spray, snacks and comfortable shoes a must. Only a handful of places to park a vehicle. Benches scattered along trail. Restrooms far and few between. Numerous unpaved hiking, biking and horseback riding trails off the paved trails.

A must ride Trail. Withlacoochee State Trail is a 46-mile long paved, multi-use, non-motorized rail trail in Florida located in Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties. It follows along the Withlacoochee River and passes through the Withlacoochee State Forest. It is the longest paved rail trail in Florida.

There's a nice little city park with picnic tables and restrooms at this access point on the trail. You'll find kiosks and murals with historical information here. Worth a stop if you're exploring Floral City.

Nice trailhead to start a ride. Plenty of free parking. Rode north through Inverness. Was very bike friendly. Had a farmers market on Saturday.

I often stop here on my rides on the Withlacoochee State Trail. The Pavillion is nice, There are bathrooms, benches, water, and a new large parking lot. Almost exactly the mid-point of the trail. UPDATE: About a mile and a quarter North of Floral City is the 800 mile signpost of the old railway. 800 miles to Richmond.

Great ride. Lots of sights to see. Trail is half shaded.
