By far, THE BEST Argentine empanadas I've had in the bay area. Crispy flaky dough, very well stuffed with deliciousness, and freshly baked. Please keep doing what you're doing!!

Delicious empanadas! We did catering for lunch and their empanadas were delicious. Full of meat and protein! Even eggs.

I grabbed takeout here for lunch and it was perfect. I got the meal combo with two empanadas and a side salad, and it was so much food I couldn't finish it. I ordered the traditional beef empanada and the verde empanada, and both were delicious. The side salad was HUGE and crisp, very fresh. 10/10, would grab lunch here again any time.

I will update my review after one more try, but here is my first experience: This is a very tiny place which only serves empanadas. They sell 5 kind of empanadas. I had chicken and traditional. My friend had mushroom one. The mushroom one tasted pretty good but the traditional ones were okay. The meat was chewy, the flavors were missing. The chicken was just okay. The sauce were good. The salad was good. It's a tiny spot, just few chairs and not a big waiting area. The service is pretty quick as the empanadas are already cooked. The cashier was nice.

Best empanada ever! Cute lil spot with a fresh and clean decor. Simple menu with beer and wine. Fast. Friendly. Great lunch spot or easy date night! Seating limited.

Expensive. Taste reasonably good but not good value IMHO. Fair points by the owners so I raised to 3 stars and revised my review. Empanadas in my opinion should not be more than $2-3 each. May I suggest a better deal when selling by the dozen, etc.

The mushroom empanadas were real good so were the ham and cheese ones.

Love, love, love their empanadas! I've been looking for authentic and delicious Argentinian food in the bay and finally found it at El Sur. They remind me of my time in Argentina in the best way possible. The service was also excellent and everything felt very safe. They also offer bake at home options which are super easy and a wonderful way to enjoy their food at home.

So delighted to find these amazing empanadas. As I am disabled I'm always looking for easy things to have during the day. Never thought much about empanadas as most I find mediocre at best. What a revelation to have these incredible tasting yums 30 minutes away. So good. I only wish shipping was a bit quicker. Other than that I urge anyone who thinks they don't care for empanadas give these a try. You won't be sorry. The best. Try the verdua so good and it's vegetarian

Will NOT recommend! I tried their empanadas at an office event and it was good. For the holidays, I make an online order on 12/22 Thursday for next day pick up on 12/23 Friday. Their online system took my order and my credit card payment. I also got an email receipt to confirm my order. After an hour drive to their restaurant at Noon on 12/23, surprisingly I found their restaurant was closed. I called and rang their doorbell multiple times and couldn’t get hold of anyone. I waited around for an hour hoping the owner or someone may show up. No one was there and I was not able to get my paid order. If it’s a holiday hour change, they should post that on their website and not to take orders, and change the hours on google research as well. This is very disappointing and a waste of my time, and my holiday dinner plan had to change a bit. I couldn’t share the empanadas with the neighbors as planned. I will NOT recommend this business to anyone, no credibility!

El Sur has catered a few event for the nonprofit I work for and they are always incredible! The food is filling but perfect as passed apps and the desserts are delicious. They're our favorite

Overpriced, empanadas aren't fresh out of the oven. Unfortunately, there is not much competition and empanadas -a commodity food much like pizza- become a gourmet option.

I tried these empanadas at the West Coast Craft fair last weekend and they're the best empanadas I've had in the Bay Area. Also a great food to eat when you're walking around a fair and you don't have a place to sit down at a table.
