Brisket was tender but lacked any standalone flavor. The smoke was very much heavy but could taste the white creosote smoke. Ribs should have been cooked longer and the beans were crunchy. Need to be cooked longer or do not add salt while they are cooking. Potato salad tasted like what you get from store. Even the bread was a bit dry. Now this was my first visit and I always give a place 2x. (To the owner) don't be afraid to add more pop into your rub and apply heavily..all meats should stand on their own with no sauce.

One of the major bbq players in this town and I see why. Dang good BBQ across the board of their simple basic menu of goods. Everything we had was amazing. Service was fast just before the normal 6pm dinner rush started coming in and it came strong! We got lucky coming in at 5. Beat the masses. The chicken impressed me most with it's super smokey but moist outcome. The brisket was a close 2nd place being flavorful and tender. Ribs we're not be overlooked either. Not a big sausage guy so those just never impress me much anywhere. Potato salad, coleslaw and beans all legit sides. The smokey tangy BBQ sauce is solid as well. Roman the man behind it all who served us was a class act guy and super friendly dude. Gave me all the inside details on the biz and the food. 10 hours of smoked mesquite chips goes into that brisket! In biz since 2002 and still putting smiles on locals faces daily!

This place is pretty good. The brisket was good, but the pork ribs were freakin delicious! Plates come standard with potato salad and beans, but I appreciated that they allowed substitution. Instead of potatoes I got fried okra and beans. Beans flavored well for a barbecue plate. The place is no frills and the staff helpful, cordial and friendly. Prices seem comparable to other BBQ joints, but as a quote says inside, “Good BBQ ain’t cheap, and cheap BBQ ain’t good.” I recommend trying it. I also recommend indulging in the cherry cobbler if you aren’t too full. I took mine to-go and ate it later. Yum!

I had a nice experience. The staff was very polite and helpful, my meal consisted of a chopped beef sandwich and fries. Which I had no complaints with. The food was served nice and fresh..Hot, some of the beef still had fat, but not enough to ruin it for me. So it was a good meal and experience. Thank you to the staff look forward to going back and enjoying another meal.

Delicious! I'm very glad to finally find a local BBQ place that's amazing and not a random chain. The brisket was tender, the ribs and sausage were smoked to perfection. Everything comes with a side of bread, beans, and potato salad. Wish we'd had to for cobbler. Next time I'll start with that. If you want to see the menu, click the photo with the boards and clock on the wall.

By Far the best BBQ I’ve ever had! The ribs were FINGER LICKIN GOOD. Besides my mommas beans they have best beans I’ve ever had! Potato salad was divine. The banana pudding was soooooo yummy!!! It was my first time trying RJ’s and because of Eloy and Roman giving me the best 5 star experience I will absolutely be back next trip to San Angelo!

The absolute best bbq place in town. They made our catering for our gender reveal so quick and painless, and yes the food was amazing too. The owner took so much interest in our gender reveal, made us feel right at home. I definitely would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to dine or cater an event.

Was in town visiting my brother. He took me here for lunch. I don't eat meat so I got the fish plate that I was told came with 1 side so I got potato salad. We made it home to eat and the portions were huge and included fries and hush puppies. I would've gotten a different side had I known it came with fries. The potato salad was basic but edible. The fish was fried well, the hush puppies and fries were seasoned well. My brother enjoyed his BBQ as well and we both had enough leftover to eat for dinner.

Where to start... The order taker at the counter couldn't be bothered to smile or make eye contact. How dare we patronize your establishment! Out of ribs on this visit. Hey BBQ places, if you keep running out of something, maybe make more of that thing? And if you're out, note that on your menu. The brisket was utterly tasteless; almost as though it was that plant based stuff. The beans were undercooked and also devoid of flavor. Portions were generous and the potato salad was good, so points there. There were also flies buzzing around and landing on our plates - errr, I mean, our styrofoam trays and plasticware. Sorry to be so harsh, but this was my experience.

Fantastic! Got a 3 item plate (brisket, turkey, pulled pork) and a lb of ribs with extra beans and potato salad and man, all of it is great! Everything's so tender and ribs fall off the bone. The sides are also delicious and complement the meat perfectly. Cherry on top was the folks are so friendly and polite!

Our first time visiting, best bbq in Angelo! Such good flavor and great customer service. Wish the ribs & brisket were warmer, they were a little cold but still so good. Will definitely be back!

No complaints here. I got the 2 meat plate, got the brisket and jalapeño sausage with beans and fries. If I ever visit San Angelo again I would definitely try this place again!

If you like sauced brisket then this place may be for you. I ordered the brisket plate with beans and cole slaw. The beans were hard and did not have much flavor, the slaw was just normal slaw. I received a few cuts of brisket and while it was better without sauce I felt it lacked a deeper flavor profile. For the cost I was expecting a better meal.

When I walked in to this restaurant, I wasn’t expecting a lot. It was small and a bit old fashioned. It took a little while to get my food but when I got it, I was absolutely astonished. Best barbecue in town. Absolutely amazing. I had the shack tacos and it was ridiculously good.

I've been a fan of this BBQ since they catered my college graduation in 2005! Since the change in ownership, it seems like the food is just not as good, as much as it pains me to say. The past few times, I have not been satisfied for the price that I pay, but I'm a firm believer in second chances. On my last visit, I order the two meat plate. I asked for dark meat, since the white meat was dry the last time I ordered. Unfortunately, the dark meat was dry too. I ordered brisket as the second meat and it was extremely salty. I'll likely give them a try again, but it'll be awhile.

👍👍 This restaurant has the best Mexican food that I’ve ever eaten! I’m not a local, but after eating here, I now have a reason to want to go back & visit. This place alone is definitely worth a road trip! Seriously. Also, I must note that the ambience was wonderful and the staff was friendly too. I can...
