😐 Nice and clean, all new equipment - as expected because it’s new. Never heard of an LA without a sauna though. They really dropped the ball on that decision. People are really upset and I’m sure that’ll deter many from signing up. People often mention location, sauna, workout, machines, staff, equipment, pool, people, Harry, pass,

They opened this new gym a few months ago, not notifying anyone that they’d CLOSE down the Alsip location. This gym is now a ZOO!! Not enough machines AT ALL! No sauna, no hot tub either. Just a ZOO . Absolutely can not get a workout in.

Had a tour today with general manager Harry Thanos at this location. All new equipment with T.V.'s spacious areas with green turf. Very nice pool area they will be offering lots of classes. Plenty of treadmills and stair machines.

Horrible experience. I went in and had a tour and set up a date for a day pass to try it out as I come in for my date I approached the front desk and Harry Thanos immediately walks up overhearing I have a pass. He brings me over to his desk and is continuously pressuring me to try and get the membership right away, I explain to him that I want to try it out first before I agree to any terms. When I was first given the day pass the employer told me to reach out to them if there was any issues when I arrive for my day pass. Harry refused to let me in saying I had to pay a $20 fee for the day and also denied my request to reach out to the employee even after they gave me the OK if there was any issues. I do not recommend this facility whatsoever.

Horrible guest service. Walked in and there was a long wait. Proceeded to walk towards the seating area just to look at the equipment from a distance and the two young ladies at the counter were rude, telling me I can’t look at the equipment. Mind you, I never entered the workout facility. I was just looking from next to the seating area. I left immediately, never to return.

This location is mediocre. It’s a step up from the Oak Lawn location simply because it’s newer but the lay out is very strange. They have an entire sitting section with a TV rather than a spacious and functional stretching area with precor stretchers. There is no sauna either which is another valuable space for stretching and ending a workout. The staff has a “don’t bother me” energy, specially anyone sitting behind the glass wall. Weights and equipment are never in their rightful place, and it’s a sign the staff does not care to engage with the members or make for an organized gym. People record here a lot which is against their gym rules and an invasion of privacy to everyone else who did not sign up to end up on social media. The staff do little to nothing to maintain their rules, privacy, or safety of their members. The shortened hours and the closing of locations all around means the gym is nearly always packed. The equipment is wonderful but LA Fitness is a shell of what it once was. I brought my concerns to management and they preferred to offer cancelling my membership over managing their business.

Management is a joke. Read your contract carefully. The sales people openly and confidently lie. Once they have you locked in, it’s impossible to break without having to be charged more. Spoke with LAF corp, they said “misinformation to close a sale is unfortunately common”. Confused to why LAF doesn’t care their management and staff are scammers? They’re lucky solely because there’s literally nothing else close by. There’s hidden fees and no free freezes. Be careful because they don’t care about their members. Just your money. Xsport treats people better. How crazy is that?

Unfortunately many dedicated Alsip location members have just been informed that their favorite workout instructors were left in the dark about the closing of Alsip location and was not able to pickup class spots on 95th St. We had dedicated instructors who should have been allowed the first opportunities on 95th St. But we see now that this company does not care about loyalty to current instructors and it’s members. You get a F for Fake and a D for Disappointing! While it is nice to have a new location in Oaklawn, it lacks a sauna, hot tub, basketball court and I don’t recall seeing raquette ball courts or a children’s center for its members. That right there are signs of what Chicago and it’s metropolitan areas have always been known for. Considering your membership is also aware of the intending closures in the south suburbs and Chicago’s south side location (Esporta), this new location is a down sized slap in the face.

EXTREME poor management! I don’t understand why they offer guest passes if they make it such a hard deal to allow to be used. This is not about the customer or upcoming customers happiness. The manager makes money and memberships to be the priority of this gym. No professionalism at all and would rather have you walk out the gym with an unpleasant experience, rather than find a solution. This is not the way to conduct business. Management needs to understand the importance of customer service.

There has been multiple times I’ve noticed this worker just standing near girls or standing somewhere else a cross the gym where he can get a view and see girls working out when they’re doing exercises that require bending down and etc.

Deceptive when signing you up. They don't tell you your card will get charged $49 annual fee 2 weeks after signing up! Highly unprofessional. There's other gyms that are WAY cheaper than this place.

No sauna or steam room. For a brand new gym it was not sparking clean. Overall floor plan for weight lifting is bad. No racket ball courts. No nutritional drinks available instead it was replaced with vending machine junk. Its a sign to come that this place will not stay open. Whoever designed and approved this layout probably has never seen a busy gym. Its sad as hell. Coupled with the horrible clientele that shows up there I’m waiting for news of the first shooting there.

Never had a problem with the staff but they advertise a sauna and there isn’t one. The gym gets pretty busy and since half the gym is treadmills and ellipticals weight machines, racks, and benches are never accessible. The lockers have never been cleaned on the inside and the pool is closed at least once a month. Definitely much better options if you are looking to lift seriously.

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE STAFF AND MANAGERS. I have never had such a problem with managers or gym staff at any other gym. I went to this gym with high expectations as it seemed luxurious and brand new, but upon arriving and speaking to the managers about having a day pass they were EXTREMELY keen on me getting membership first and were pushing it onto me. It was clear they were not interested in allowing me to try out the gym first despite me having a day pass and were only focused on me signing up which was tremendously disappointing with the way they were shoving it down my throat. This is a beautiful looking gym but it is ruined by the horrendous managers that run it.

Just like Planet Fitness (at a higher cost!)-no sauna, no whirlpool, no racquetball or basketball, and very limited ab machines! Even the pool is made for a MAX. 3 swimmers at a time! Pre-opening ads said the club would have sauna, whirlpool, etc. Hopefully another organization takes over LAF's Alsip location (closing 4/27/23). If so, bye bye LAF! LAF HAS BEEN CLOSING NUMEROUS LOCATIONS LATELY :(

New facility, with (of course) all new machines. I’ve always had good experiences with all LA Fitness locations, HOWEVER! This one lacks THE SAUNA!!. Although it does not have that, it does have the usual pool, but no jacuzzi. Come on LA, please get it together. Despite previous reviews, Customer Rep, Julissa (apologize if I misspelled it), was very helpful and not a bit rude, very pleasant to talk to. She showed me around the facility and also said it is still under construction and there’s still debate whether they will be installing the sauna or basketball court. Taking the fact that the Alsip location had a shooting in the basketball court a few months back, I highly doubt that will be the right move for this location. THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN, INSTALL THE SAUNA!

A LOT of cardio machines. Everything is new and clean and well lit. Has a separate room for spin class and for group fitness but does not have basketball courts. Also, does not have a hot tub or sauna.

I agree with this post: “Deceptive when signing you up. They don't tell you your card will get charged $49 annual fee 2 weeks after signing up! Highly unprofessional.” We were also never given any contract or paperwork opting to trust Harry and his word. They advertised a special promotion prior to opening which was no different than what they offer on a regular basis.

I enjoy the gym more when it's not busy! The new LA FITNESS has done away with some of its original amenities. No sauna! No, whrilpool! No basketball! No boxing bags! No kids club! No racketball! The pool is small. 3 lanes only! There is no reason for ppl to hang out in the gym for hours at a time. I think it's great! Get in and get out! Less ppl means less wear and tear on the club. The more amenities, the worse the club looks. The truf area is even bigger! Most ppl dont know what to do in that area other than stretch. There's tons of cardio equipment! There are plenty of weights and machines to get the job done. No hammer strength, which is more old school. Im sure if u go during peak hours you'll still run into a crowded gym. I like it the way it is, and I don't miss any of the amenities.

Complained about video chatting customers while I was undressing in locker room. Solution. Come out and point out who is doing it. Let me run out in my towel and get a worker vs posting a bigger sign regarding cell phone use in locker room. Anyone who takes selfies or video chats in protective area should have membership revoked immediately. Update just had the same experience again so I called the front desk like management told me to do and you know what they did. Absolutely nothing. They are failing to protect women in a protected space by allowing people to take narcissistic selfies

This place is new and nice with great equipment but it’s always packed. Always. Never a dull hour at this spot so it’s super frustrating and hard to get a workout in if you have a strict plan. Also the pool only has 3 lanes so that’s lame and they’re usually taken. I’ve waited up to 30 min just for a pool lane. Pretty mediocre and super expensive I’d recommend getting a membership elsewhere. No basketball court/racket rooms/v squat machine either. Cable machines are almost always taken. Good for deadlifting though they have a great variety of round plates.

Honeslty LA fitness only cares about making money since they've been closing down a lot of locations and not having the same amenities they had before. As well as the hours still remain the same as the keep closing early and my payments remain the same. So it gets expensive for what I'm paying for. The Oak Lawn location is nice because it's newly built but to be honest, the machines aren't the best as the Alsip location (that they closed down). Some are okay but some of the machines need some maintenance as they sometimes get stuck or have so much resistance (regardless of weight). They need some WD-40 to be able to smoothly function. Also, some of the cable machines are half broken because they keep getting stuck at the top. The lay out of the gym could be better as the benches sit a little close to the dumbell racks and people crossing over can almost hit you as they pass by while you work out. I mean the gym has stuff to get the job done but ever since Alsip has closed, their has been increase traffic that any time you would go, it gets packed. That being said, if the Alsip location didn't close, I wouldn't be coming to Oak Lawn as much.

I never had a bad experience here. And I’ve been coming here for more than 6 months. I used to go to the one by countryside until they opened this one. I always see the cleaning crew either mopping, cleaning the mirrors, or vacuuming. They don’t have a protein bar or juice bar but there is a tropical smoothie less than 2 min away from the gym. And yes they don’t have a sauna either but I never really liked the sauna so It doesn’t bothers me.

Pool is so small and too many clients wish to be in water aerobics for BOTH instructors. Gym stopped us from swimming before class and then be in class. We have to wait in lobby until 830 to sign in or leave pool and go to desk at 830 to sign in. Water all over gym and hall floors from our wet suits. Even though front desk says only 33 people signed in can attend ( capacity per code) to date they have not enforced the rule. This week they expected the instructor to stop people from entering pool, disrupting class many times. Yet front desk allows people pass the desk, some not even swiping in, who obviously are headed to the pool. Today I was the first one there, yet when paper was put out to sign there was already someone signed in??? Front desk would not comment to either person who asked how this could be. IRRITATING GREAT INSTRUCTORS Instructors are caught in the middle . How about more classes?

The manager Harry and his team are a joy to work with. The atmosphere is set by the people that work there & it's an awesome atmosphere to work out in. I WILL KEEP GOING BACK. The manager as well as trainers, offer stellar services they are courteous, attentive to your needs, and encourage your success. The training equipment is top notch as well. It's a WIN, WIN, when you attend here.

My bf has a membership with LAF. I workout from home but wanted to change scenery. My bf was able to get me a pass. Overall my experience was great. I went in Saturday later afternoon to workout. Personally I don’t mind there not being a sauna, basketball court or jacuzzi. I think this helps the gym from not being as packed as people are going in just to get a workout in and steers the wrong crowd from coming in.

LA Fitness only cares about making money. The gym has unprofessional staff. The guys involved in personal training are dishonest. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to come here.Harry Thanos and Tyler are by far the worst salesperson located in Oak Lawn. Both are unprofessional and dishonest when it comes to selling PT. Don’t trust any LA Fitness staff. They are constantly preying on women for their terrible personal training program.

What a horrible experience. The customer service is terrible. I came in Saturday and spoke to Isiah Lopez. He was not friendly at all. Upon my interaction with him, he was very nonchalant and seem irritated. Today, I received a call from him, again not customer friendly at all. I told him I was not interested in joining the gym and he hung up the call very rudely and I professional. If you do not like your job, get a new one. ☺️ due to that interaction, I called and spoke to Harry (GM) another unpleasant individual. When you work in sales you are suppose to provide your customers with the highest upmost respect and pleasant interaction and that was not done here. I would not recommend this gym to anyone. Harry did not seem interested in my complaint about Isiah Lopez and was more concerned about me joining the gym. Very unprofessional.

A very helpful staff in the manager Harry Thanos and for his health help and support. It's a pleasure to go to go there everybody's very nice. Which makes it very worthwhile. Improve in your health and comfort in the staffs attitude is great.

This is one of the smaller LA fitness clubs but the facility was clean which is very important to me. The people who workout there lack gym etiquette leaving weights all over the floor and on the machines when they finish their last set. So if you don't mind that, you'll have a good workout.

Although this location does not have a Sauna or Whirlpool I still love the gym equipment provided at this location. Also the parking for this location is pretty good. Plenty of space for all the clients. The staff are very friendly. Love getting my workout at this location.

No sauna, no jacuzzi and maintenance is not that great, bathrooms are already dirty. Machines are new and nice but I noticed there are too tall for me. I don’t have that issue with other clubs.

I was looking into this gym for a while, but after the way they treated my friends/coworkers I would never sign up here. I hear the staff is great, but the district vice president Nicholas Jones treated them terribly. He not only only profiled them with much prejudice, but harassed them and caused a traumatic display in front of everyone by calling the authorities on them. He accused my coworker of personal training our other coworker/ friend, when both were just there to workout and help inspire each others personal goals. Clearly his customer service is poor at best, but he also had the audacity to follow them into the changing room to make sure they did not shower. He treated them like fugitives when they were only there to workout. He saw that they were completely opposite in profiles and couldn’t see beyond his own prejudice. They are both well known at this gym and have never had any issues until he arrived.

I don’t really understand why the facility is being mopped during business hours. All the floors are wet during the early morning crowd which is a hazard. This should be done after the gym closes. And then a lady that cleans here half cleans and is only on the phone in the locker room all day. there have been multiple events of puddles of water in the free weight area. No weights are re-racked and are just left lying on the floor i’ve almost tripped over quite a few times. Nothing is hardly where it’s supposed to be. The facility is nice primarily for training only, there’s no sauna.
