I moved into the Monroe apartments in September of 2020. They did not show me my actual unit or building before moving in. They show you a staged unit in an upkept building. My actual unit had fixtures painted over, the bath tub was peeling as it was painted with normal paint one of the outlets didn’t even work. The building itself needed upgrading. There were scuffs and marks all over the walls and the railing was hanging out of the wall and not even secured. The building had drainage issues leaving running water from rain the flood the side walks with mud that was impossible to walk through or around, this also left cracks in the side walk which was a serious tripping hazard. There is not enough parking so after work while pregnant I would have to walk from a different lot to my building. When I first resigned my lease it was a $50 increase, which is pretty normal. A few months later I asked to be put on a list for their 2 bedrooms. I called a month later and the girl at the office was confused at what I was even talking about. I then got a notice that my rent would be increased by $350 a month with no reasoning as to why. I then decided to move to another complex in Oct of 2022. It is now August of 2023 and I still have no received my security deposit. The lady in the office just keeps telling me sorry I don’t know what’s going on. This is not acceptable at all!!! A security deposit is legally to be returned within 45 days!!!! I do not recommend this complex at all. There is no communication between the parent company and office. All they want to do is get you in and forget about you and the property afterwards.

Before I get into the actual grounds, I have to say- Gil Shamoun is a terrific human. He was very up front from the start with the process and worked with me from start to finish, leaving no stone unturned. My unit is updated and comfortable, and it's a relatively quite area. I feel safe here. The grounds are well kept and on the plus side, you can cancel your gym membership. The amenities, especially their fitness room, is amazing. The four stars is an honest rating only because with my unit's windows, and not speaking for others, are far from 'sound proof'. I can clearly hear outside noise and conversation clearly, and the parking leaves something to be desired. After about 7pm, there's a good chance you're not parking anywhere near your front door. A small price to pay for a management company that puts in effort to build a communal space and shows it actually gives a (choice word) about their tenants.

Beautiful, clean and quiet property. From start to finish, Gil has been nothing but helpful and responsive. You can tell he loves his job and cares about the community. He gave us a full tour and explained everything to make sure we were comfortable and understood everything. Thanks for everything Gil!!

You do NOT want to live there. The staff was completely incompetent, rude especially the property manager herself, me and my dog had 6 squirrels living above us for over 5 months in which they didn't resolve until I called the police and the village, my heater was over 12 years past it's manufacture shelf life resulting in a bad gas leak and the list goes on. Don't let the decent photos and curb appeal fool you!

Gil was amazing to work with! He answered every single question and was very thorough, I feel that I was very informed and confident in my decision to sign the lease because of him. Gil was very enthusiastic and professional. He was ready to find me exactly what I was looking for- and he did! I am very grateful for how smoothly the leasing process went. I am so excited to move into my apartment at the Monroe and know that because of Gil, I am in great hands. Lastly- unit was cleaned and in amazing condition! Thank you Gill!!!

From the application process to moving in, the staff handled us with such care. Gil Shamoun is an amazing leasing manager. He gave us a tour of the property and made sure all of our paperwork was done in less than 24 hrs. The entire process was seamless and easy. The apartment we acquired is very nice and the property is well kept. I love the community engagement and all the enhancements they’re doing to keep the property up. I’d totally recommend this place to anyone looking for something reasonably priced, spacious, pet and family friendly. All of the staff have been wonderful to work with and if you need anything Gil is your go to guy.

Gil was amazing! Made the leasing process easy and I am very excited to move in! From the events, gym and the room itself. You can tell it's a nice community.

I have been loving at the monroe fora year and lived here before before the new company took over. Cushman has poured in a lot of love into this place and it shows from the moment that they took over. My home is my happy place and my neighbors are also a contributing factor we are very kind and respectful. Gil has been very genuinely kind and supportive he is very resourceful and ready to help! I have a few things going on and he has put a calm to my worries which is hard to find. My apartment is very cozy and i love living here. Xoxo thank you team Monroe
