This place is anything but “prestigious”. Decided to book a room for my husbands birthday as a surprise and was really looking forward to the experience. It was by far one of the worst adults only experiences I have ever had. The room smelled horribly of smoke. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed ever. The shower steamed up the entire room. Basic cable on the TV so if you are looking to stream anything, you won’t be able to. Needless to say, it was a major flop of a surprise for my husband and a major disappointment. The fact that you require a membership to even come here and have to apply to be approved is almost comical. You would think that would mean you’d have a great experience but it won’t bes You would be better off spending your money elsewhere than coming to this place.

Aura has always been a great spot to stay. You can rent for a couple hours or for a night (must rsvp for overnight stays). I like that there's different rooms to choose from and their reasonably priced. This is a Lovers Hotel, definitely meant for couples. It's a great place to take your significant other for a nice relaxing night together. Though you must have a membership to even rent these rooms. (M: $50, For a year)

They only allow online applications for membership now. So if you’re the type of person that has a hard time coming up with creative essay type answers to private questions, you’ll have your application denied like I did. Email explaining denial makes no sense. The staff here is great and the rooms are clean. Have been celebrating birthdays and anniversary’s here for years and now have to find somewhere else to celebrate special occasions.

Always a good experience at Aura, great customer service from the staff, clean, comfy rooms, owner does a great job responding and addressing to customer complaints. Good to see a place that values, listens to and makes improvements based upon customer feedback.

We first visited Aura in 2016. It felt like a true adult-only escape. Upon checking in, there was no one else in the lobby, and it gave the impression of discrete. The room then was amazing. Fast forward to 2023, and I have no desire to return. We had a check-in time but apparently everyone was given the same or near similar time. There were nine other guests in the lobby with us. There are only four parking sports outside the gate, so vehicles were double-parked, and it felt like one of those strategy games moving cars around so others could proceed forward through the gate. Several guests complained of not being told their guest needed to be present with I.D. before they could check-in. This should have been communicated on the phone before confirming the reservation, or online at the step before submitting the reservation. Maybe this alone would have allowed for staggered check-in times for guests and eliminated so many guests in the lobby. We got to our room, and the smell of old smoke was permeating through the air and embedded in the bed linen and pillows. I've been in cigar lounges that had better quality air. For overnight guests, it sticks to your belongings. It made for an uncomfortable and unpleasurable stay. Throw everything in the washer with Lysol! Throughout the night I was awakened by the sound of housekeeping. I get it, they are doing their job, but perhaps have a system where the first four-hour stay starts at 6 a.m. and the last four-hour stay starts at 8 p.m. This allows overnight guests limited interruptio. Or, keep overnight rooms separate from multi-hour visits. Overall, the place offers a decent vibe for adults looking to adult, but the crowd has changed over the years. We will have to try out one of the other locations.

I was here for the very first time on Valentine's Day. He did well on this one. The room we had was a total vibe. There was a "chair" in there, and all I'm going to say is OMG😳!! It's definitely a must try, every way possible. I loved the experience. Overall, it was very successful, and I will most definitely be going again. I gave no stars for services because it didn't apply to us.

I have always had a good time . Unfortunately my membership expired and they denied Me a new one I have tried numerous times to contact management and see what's. The problem. So today I finally contacted management and he was no help so disappointing.

Membership was revoked without reason….. been going here 10+ years to be told my membership is revoked with no explanation at all. I reached out to the GM no response as figured. I won’t say this is a bad place to visit but can use some re-training on customer service. The fact that I’ve spent thousands staying here to be tossed like a rag doll is beyond me. It’s as if the staff is trained with a F U mentality. I will say front desk guy Darryl has been solid for years, maybe he should be promoted to GM!!!

I booked a room for February 14, 2024, and was told I had a room. When the day came, I was told that it was for February 15th, 2024, at 3:30 am, I pre-paid for the room, we needed to go work, and 15th the day getaway was ruined, for my lady. So I took a trip with her and got her to smile. I'm going to the Chicago location next for a getaway from the house on special occasions .

For our first time being here, lets just say I enjoyed it. The price was not bad at all. My husband and I have not enjoyed some time away from our kids in so long this was very well needed. Staff is wonderful - room was amazing! Just like pictures online. We will DEFINITELY be back!!

What can I say but wow!!! Went for my birthday got the big sweet and was very pleased. I just was upset that the hot tub was pre filled because the one we had was filled to high and water was leaking. Other then that very nice place definitely will be returning!!!!

My last experience was not pleasant i stayed in a suite that had no hot water in my hot tub.Besides that it was some other things that was wrong with the room that i had mentioned to the staff, Also i was promised some of my $$$ back for being overcharged upon checking in at the front desk which i never received. Then i also called and spoke to the the manager over the phone which i was told i would receive a room credit which i also never received .So i am very disappointed in the poor Customer service and the poor Quality of the room i had received. As for me being a longtime customer that spent a lot of money over the year's this is really unacceptable and unprofessional because I'm a sweet and honest lady and i didn't deserve to be Ignored and mistreated that like that.

Romantic and private. Very clean and the set up was great! We went for the night of Valentine's day and were welcomed with balloons and special items. We would definitely come back. We got the lowest priced room, and next time we're going for a room with a jacuzzi or spa bath. But don't let that discourage you if you want to get the lowest priced room, still wonderful!

Been here a few times in different rooms. They are always very clean and the staff has always been great. My only complaint is you can hear EVERYTHING. For being an adult hotel, you'd think the walls would be a bit more sound proof? Other than that we very much enjoy this quick getaway.

Great visit. They changed a lot and for the good. First, they make both you and your mate check in. This was good cause it helps prevent unwanted guests. The rooms have been updated. They have new people who are very professional. The rooms are very clean. We had the Lux suite. It was nice. They definitely changed things for the better.

After reading the reviews and seeing how nice the rooms were, as well as having to be a member to book I thought I’d have an amazing experience. I got the Luxe room, Upon arrival my package I paid for was not in the room. The WiFi code never worked, we had to ask for things that were advertised to be included in the room. Let’s start with downstairs, black mold covering the walls from the front door to the living room area where the jacuzzi was. There was a hole in the staircase to where I could see the room under it. The upstairs bathroom had blood like splatters all over the wall right across from the toilet, so imagine the view while you’re sitting, the sink also leaked, and leaked all over the counters soaking the towels and other personal belongings. I notified the front desk about the condition of the room and she seemed so unfazed it was disgusting. After speaker with the director of operations through email and phone, I was told I would receive a refund to my payment method and a credit towards my account, I still have yet to receive my refund. That room violates so many health codes, you’d think the customer service would be better for how upscale they attempt to make it seem.

Extremely disappointed.. I made reservations for the luxe got there and they down graded my to the bliss after I paid a deposit… got in the room and it didn’t even hve blankets on the bed. 😡😡😡😤No face towels either.., no microwave to heat up food smfh.,. And they also made me wait a whole extra hour to get the room ready which it looked as if they rushed it. It was my anniversary and they didn’t Complement us for anything like they emails says.. I will NOT EVER return to this place . Plz save your money it’s definitely not worth the stay .., this place doesn’t deserve one star but I had to give something just to write this review!! 😡😡😡

This place was nice. My room was decorated nice. I went for my husband birthday and they provided a balloon, rose petals, game dice, and champagne with flutes.

Aura really needs to upgrade all rooms especially Tryst room. I got my package as advertised However, the room was not sound proof, no soap or conditioner in the shower dispenser, blood on the remote control which is a major negative!!!! Holes in the walls and etc. You guys better do something because things like that will cause Aura at this location to be shutdown..... I will not return to this hell and I want my refund for the blood on the remote control

Room looks nice but nothing worked. Steam room didn't turn on. Hot tub was at a burning temperature of 107° & wouldn't turn down or off. Everything we chose the room for, was inoperable. Better off getting a regular room with a great view downtown. This experience was disappointing. Just an "im sorry" from staff. These amenities should be tested before renting the room out to assure u abide by what you advertise. Dont like both parties need to check in. Ppl come here to celebrate birthdays & anniversary; normally as a SUPRISE!! Our room was right at the entrance which means no parking. Had to park in the back side & walk To the room with our belongings. You could at least put a bag of ice in the fridge. Where is the prestige experience 🙄

The room smelled a lil funny and the couple who's room was behind mine was loud. I'm sure they were right next to each other no need to talk loud. The room was setup nice though.

Please be aware this is not a genuine "hotel". There is no room service and they will NOT check you in if you don't have a guest (+1) present. Very strange establishment but I suppose it's cute for a few-hour reservation.

I just want to say Dan at the front desk went absolutely above and beyond expectations. He really goes the extra mile for his customers I wouldn't have stayed again if he hadn't explained everything so eloquently. Thanks again Dan !!!

On Dec 5, 2023 I applied for the membership required by prestige club online. Funds were withdrawn from my account as soon as I finished the application. I received a text message from prestige club stating that they were on it and my application is being processed. Today is Dec 18th I haven’t received a decision on my application yet. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. At this point I just want my funds returned to my account

Establishment is very clean, Loki and quiet, the staff is very courteous.2020 and 21. I and my lady visit all three establishments, Midlothian, Chicago, and Franklin Park, a total of six times each. Franklin Park attended by the name of Daryl, I believe, charismatic middle-aged guy lite spoken and very helpful, know me as a regular so we had a good business friendship. I have recommended many people to visit and promote their business over the years to co-workers and Friends alike who visited for the first time and thanked me for telling them One particular evening in September of October 21 myself and the lady that I have only visi5t that place with had one too many drinks had an couples quarrel, as the membership holder I was in fear of my safety, so I seek help from the attendant Daryl on staff that night we tried to resolve the issue in many ways with my guess nothing worked the only thing was to do was for me to call local law enforcements and I did ,they was nice they escorted me out of the premises to make sure that I was safe from my company and I think and I recommend the police department. not knowing until my next attmpt to visit that I was barred from the establishment they explain why because the police was called I as a customer requested for the police to be called to sure my safety and I still was barred from establishment when I tried to plead my case with the manager on duty she was rude didn't want to hear me and hung up on me I gave up but . why will I be banned when I needed assistance from the enforcement to sure my safety?? The room was beautiful..it was my birthday so they decorated it so lively..everything was clean and neat and the customer service was excellent

This place never misses! It's perfect for a staycation or just for some hours to get alone time. Clean and I've never had a problem with the front desk. They're always helpful. Just wish you got more time but it's still nice!

I have been here several times, and it's mostly great. But the last two times, the room temp would not get below 81 degrees. It was so hot and humid from poor A/C; it was blowing but stayed at 81 for 4 hours. It was already too hot and humid in the room to enjoy the steam shower or hot tub, let alone cuddle, so it really bummed us out. And I personally don't think they drained the hot tub recently, a piece of hair was floating around and the water smelled a little funky. I sure hope this was just a random bad day, I really enjoy coming here.

No riff raff around here staff is GREAT rooms are GREAT never had a bad experience here. Oh wait the electronic lock on the door would not release No problem they upgraded my room for same price very very very clean here the lobby is great too.. get your freak on 😆 🤣 😂

Save your money.. the male at the front desk was very rude and would not give his name. Upon walking into the room, you can tell that house keeping does the very bare minimum in terms of cleanliness. Literal feathers stuck to the bedding. Huge turn off. Walked in & out in less than 15 minutes.

This place was perfect for us to get our groove back. The ambience just mad our stay so special

Had an amazing time with the husband! What a perfect overnight get away for the two of us. Much needed! The room was very clean, bed was comfortable, shower and jet tub were clean. The shower was SO clean however that we slipped and almost fell getting in and out. That would be the only bad thing I could say. The staff was super efficient and friendly. We called for something and they had it to us in under 5 minutes. Parking is great. No long walks to your rooms, gated parking, so I felt very safe in the unfamiliar neighborhood. Not to mention that around the area are so many places to order out or go and have a nice dinner at. I can't wait for our next overnight stay!

I am planning on staying at the AXIS IN CHICAGO, but customer service over the phone was so bad, I had to call the Aura hotel and they were so nice to me. Rebecca helped me so much and was very nice. She made me feel like she wanted me as a customer, and did everything in her power to help me and give me a pleasurable guest service experience. The team here is very friendly and well trained. Rebecca was a great help and a pleasure to speak with. She got me all booked up and made sure all my accommodations were met. If it weren't so far I would stay at the aura instead of the axis. But the aura still helped me out. great people great place. Rebecca was great

Have never been. Room was very nice and clean. Nicely decorated. Shower was very nice. We asked for an extra flat sheet that was never brought to us. Our room had service rooms or something above. They were very loud above us in the morning, and it actually woke us up when we were looking forward to sleeping in. They kept dropping stuff above us and were very loud. Our room was in front of the building near the busy street which was very loud. They need to invest in better windows and sound proofing.

I’m highly disappointed in the front desk, concierge. They were so rude over the phone. My birthday is tomorrow and I was really look to booking. I called because the website lets you review room and check availability. I called and spoke with the agent. When I inquired about booking she mentioned an application prior to. I said okay and started to ask about the membership cost because I didn’t see it online and that it allowed me to start the booking process. She interrupted me while I completing my sentence. I asked if I was able to book without the membership, she hangs up the phone. I called back. She answers with “Hold please”. I’ve waited and the. She ask did I need , I began to explain my birthday is tomorrow 9/29 and if there was the membership cost. She interrupts me again stating “It’s on the website did you read it?” And responded with “And I just said I didn’t see the membership cost, did you hear me?” I will take my $350 come where else. That lady was just rude. I don’t understand how when I’m about to spend my hard earned money. Smh I’m pissed

I had an eight hour experience for my 40th birthday what my man paid for we didn’t get he asked for the heart shaped Rose petals design instead received petals just Scattered all over. Wine didn’t receive ice bucket as promise with package. Birthday sign placed on bed instead Properly decorated to the wall. No chocolate covered strawberries. As promised with the package deal. The worst part ever the room was freezing color staff had the air on instead of heat. Me personally would never go back. It was 20 degrees outside this took place 1/12/24 Sybaris me please my next stop. This experience was NOT IT‼️‼️

The change with the table was a bad idea can't put all my stuff that I used to be able to put on the bar table owner needs to rethink this. Let me give the owner a little advice if it's not broken don't fix it. Just wasting money.
