White Been coming here since I was young. I have always had good food and great service. The atmosphere at the holidays is absolutely beautiful and just what one needs to bring out the holiday spirit. It is always fun to walk around and see stuff they have on display from years gone by and explain to kids what things are. Just a great atmosphere and great food.

White Fence Farm is magical this time of year! Everyone loves the Christmas trees and decorations and all the antiques. Plenty to look at while waiting for your table. Front door staff was friendly and pleasant. Our server, Vicki, was delightful! Very friendly, attentive, efficient. The food was hot and delicious. The "starters," including the hush puppies, are well known! Did I mention their World Famous Chicken? It is the best! Everything was delicious. Definitely worth the trip!

This place is fun for kids . Food was okay , fried chicken is the best option out of everything we have tried . Corn fritters were delish, we requested extra couple of times😋

What a beautiful place to visit and eat. A museum inside, lots to look at the the Chicken was some of the best we have ever eaten period. The hush puppies and like eating tgese soft pillows of goodness that just melted in your mouth and you cannot eat just one. Will definitely be back again for sure.

We were in the Carriage Room and Adam was our server. He was absolutely WONDERFUL - and of course our meal was perfect ! I love that White Fence Farm keeps the traditions the same. The flavors are always excellent ! I'm so glad we got to visit yesterday. PS - that Brandy Ice is the BEST !

Two of my very close friends recommended this place to me and it did not disappoint. The fried chicken alone needs no add-ons like ketchup or hot sauce! It perfectly battered and fried. Not greasy but salty, savory, juicy and fatty!! This is one of the best fried chicken I have ever had!! The sweet corn fritters are a nice contrast, is a sweeter version of a very good hush puppy. The dinner portion imo is a nice portion with coleslaw and i chose the mashed potatoes with gravy! This was take-away and it was still very fresh!! I definitely will be trying this again!

Classic Chicken -the best in the area in my opinion- with very traditional sides. Lots of spots to take photos and things for kids to do (coin operated games, etc). Several collections in the attached museum. A definite place to stop if you’ve never been or are visiting the area.

Very relaxed, kid friendly atmosphere. I've always heard about their chicken from friends and family, yet never been. We had the fried chicken (obvs), coleslaw, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and parfait's for desert. The chicken did not disappoint. What nobody told me was how absolutely amazing their relishes are. My favorite was the kidney bean relish YUM YUM! The coleslaw was very tasty as well. It had a sweet creamy taste to it. Will definitely be back here. I think our daughters will love it!

Really nice place and cool decor! I didn't eat my hubby did but they still charged me $8.00 which I found unfair. He said food was good. We did feed the alpacas and goats. Good time.

A tried and true favorite. This place has nostalgia written all over it. It’s a total farmhouse vibe. They have an animal farm, a museum-esque area and games. The food is always consistent and delicious. The chicken is so crunchy and juicy. Family style is the way to go. Let us not forget the apps they bring out—> hush puppies, coleslaw, bean salad, cottage cheese, and pickled beets. In terms of sides for the meal, stick with fries everything else sucks. Overall, simply divine.

We arrived before opening, there was plenty of sitting room and looks to keep you occupied. They bring you side dishes. The potatoes and gravy were sad for the chicken being so great. All sides were okay. I'm glad to try it once. A gluten fried chicken would be nice, one must order baked chicken.

5 stars for its atmosphere and the historical value this place has to offer. Food wise, the sides were so fresh and delicious. The famous fried chicken was ok, not as crispy and seasoned as I thought it would have been. I heard the steak was better from the staff.

"World's best chicken" the sign said... well you know I'm in to give it a try! Walking in you are greeted by a huge waiting area and an even bigger dining area, later learing this place can seat 1100 at one time! The limited menu of steak, fish and chicken was a treat as the choices were simple, however I came for this world's best chicken. The service was outstanding you start out with a bunch of relish trays at your table with theses absolutely amazing fritters, beets, cottage cheese and a few others. But the super fresh chicken and mashed potatoes with chicken gravy is what I was there for.... finally the moment came and it did not disappoint the chicken was super fresh and the unique breading gave the chicken an absolute flavor of its own and I found my self digging at the bones to find every little morsel of chicken and crust! Over the chicken was outstanding world's best? Only time will tell but I will say in one word Is delicious!!!!!!! After the meal you can go see the chickens, goats and alpacas and an absolute blas feeding these animals. This 100 years old restaurant will not disappoint!!

The food was fantastic, the chicken dinner sides were better than anticipated with the bean salad and coleslaw being our favorites. The corn fritters were like a dessert. The chicken was amazingly crispy with great flavor. Best of all was our waitress, Tammie. She is a legend. If you're lucky enough to have her as your waitress, you will not be disappointed! She'll anticipate what you need before you realize you need it. And she has a great personality! This place beat our expectations!

Had a ladies appreciation night for our motorcycle Chapter. 16 of us were in attendance. This was the second year in a row we chose this place, and had a smaller group this time around. Atmosphere and food were great, I had the broiled fish this year, but the service was not as good as our prior experience. Last year the appetizers were refilled for us at our tables and we were able to split checks. This year it wasn't like that. Overall it was a very nice night but I am not sure if we will come back next year as a group, based on the level of service we recieved.

Love White Fence Farm. My family has been going there since it was one building with benches for seats. The food is good and had stood up to the test of timem

Interesting place and food is decent. We sat in and had a large group celebrating a birthday. Most had chicken so it was just bought out on a large plate that was passed around for everyone to share (it was like $3 more for four pieces instead of two so seems a no brainer to get the 4 pieces). Sides are fries, mashed potatoes or baked potato. I just had fries since my son was with us and he would most likely make a meal of the fries. He did ask for the childrens Mac and cheese but as I suspected, he only ate the fries and barely touched the Mac and cheese if he even tried it. Food was fine although I guess I expected more seasoning. There is a section with cars and fun mirrors and although we didn't visit the outside area, there is a petting zoo or farm as well (it was advertised on the menu)

Good friendly service, the relishes were excellent as always. Pork chops were cooked perfectly but not the steaks, unfortunately. We also ordered fried chickens to go which were excellent even when cold.

This place is huge! A bit chilly inside but the service and food was very good. My first time here in Joliet so had to try the tasty fresh chicken that did not disappoint. I loved the bean salad and beets which came with the meal.

It really is the best chicken in the world. Period! Awesome sides that are served family style. Our favorites are the corn fritters, cottage cheese and bean salad. Everything is made to perfection every time. 5 stars all the way!

excellent fried chicken, fish, steaks and chops. I've never had a bad meal here. all meals come with relishes, cottage cheese, pickled beets, corn fritters ( AMAZING), Cole slaw, and kidney bean salad. all are excellent , refills available, but be sure not to fill up on them because the main courses are so good. While the fried chicken is excellent ( that's what my family gets), I tend to bounce around the menu. the steaks are huge and well seasoned. you can't go wrong here. I love the thick cut pork chops and roasted chicken , they do take an extra 20 minutes or so, but well worth the wait. my favorites though are the broiled and fried white fish. Both are great choices, and I can never make up my mind which one I want. there are great dessert options. as well as a drink menu. I tend to stick to coffee since it's better than most restaurants I've been to. you'll definitely want to come early, and try to come during the week. The weekends get extremely busy and can have a long wait.

White Fence Farm has country charm with home cooking. The Mac and cheese was not good and very bland. The fried chicken was good, but the roasted chicken was dry. The staff was friendly, courtes, and prompt.

We saw a sign on the interstate that advertised the “world’s best chicken” and decided to stop in. The parking lot was empty and the inside was huge and old-fashioned. It wasn’t clear where to go at first, but we eventually found some signs that pointed us in the right direction. The restaurant was unique and interesting. Our server was very friendly and helpful, especially since it was our first time there. She made sure our drinks were always topped off and was available whenever we needed her. We both ordered the 4-piece fried chicken dinner which came with 4 pieces of chicken and a side. The meal also included corn nuggets, cole slaw, pickled beets, cottage cheese, and “kidney bean salad.” I had never tried kidney bean salad before, but it was delicious! While my spouse wasn’t impressed with much of anything, I actually enjoyed the entire experience - the old-fashioned decor, the friendly server, the delicious food (especially the beans) - everything!

Best fried chicken! Absolutely delicious food! The sides are to die for in my opinion! They have the perfect vinegar based coleslaw and the pickled beets just mmmmmm!!!!! You will not be disappointed! I’ve never had better fried chicken in my life! Perfect crunch, not greasy, makes me want to find out the secret recipe! Check this place out you will be pleased! Finish your dinner off w/ Brandi ice or apple pie!

You want some real good fried chicken? come to Kansas City and try Strouds! Server didn't offer any refills on our drinks and forgot my ranch. Save your money and go to Churches Chicken instead.

I’ve been coming here for decades. A truly unique place, worth the hour or so drive for us. A cool museum greets you when you get there, if you chose to not feed the animals at the small zoo outside. You can be seated in one of the themed rooms. Once at the table the great staff will take your order and start bringing their great appetizers, which could technically be called a meal in itself. Then, if you ordered the chicken, their specialty, you get awesome chicken prepared in a way that few do. I would never hesitate to recommend this place to anyone (solo, couple, or large family).

We were so disappointed when we found out they had closed so you can imagine how happy when we found out they reopened. This is truly the best place to get true fried Chicken. The sides are great. The place is like a museum with the antiques around. Kid friendly. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. What's not to like?

The absolute best fried chicken anywhere! I was so upset during the lockdown when I couldn't get any White Fence Farm! Happiness is restored!

We ordered carryout! Chicken and sides were hot and delicious despite our 20 minute ride home. Fritters are scrumptious! Mashed potatoes were very good as well as the slaw. The gravy is different.

Food was still yummy except for a few things. My daughter's kiddie cocktail was warm and with no ice and the beets looked and tasted different (not as bright red and sweet). Service was super slow but thought the food came out pretty quickly.

This locals restaurant is loved by locals! The reasons for visiting this restaurant is for the experience. Knickknacks and rare collections, petting zoo, museum like experience, mom and pop shop feel, kids enjoy the waiting area. The food is simple, but good enough for a good meal. Odd ordering experience if you have never visited. An all you can eat servings of beets, coleslaw, bean salad, cottage cheese, and their famous corn fritters are served prior to your meat order for all to share. No other veggies or sides are on the menus. It does take an unusual amount of time to get your main course. The chicken is what they are known for and it is juicy with a crunchy crust not oily or dry. The reason for the 4 stars is simply for the amount of time it takes for your main course to come to the table, the chicken is good but not great. I have had better. No bad mouthing this historic restaurant though, they do what works for them and it keeps on working! You have to go here at least once.
