Whenever we want some delicious skillet, omelette or your neighborhood diner, Palos Diner is definitely the place to be. We've been coming here for the last 17 years and food has always, I mean always, every single time, delicious. Not once have I gotten anything that isn't good. Our favorite is the skillet. House skillet, vegetarian skillet, Greek skillet, you name it, it's delicious hahaha 🤣 It comes with pancakes or toasts and I love putting my sunny side up egg on a piece of buttered wheat toast! Yummmmm!!! I love seeing the kids grow up too where they used to be so little and now in their 20's helping out the family diner. I feel especially close to them like I've witnessed their kids growing up. Everyone is always polite and friendly. LOVE THIS PLACE!

My son and I just came from here. At first, we liked the place. Our food was good, and it came out surprisingly fast. We just had one complaint. My son ordered over easy eggs and his eggs were extremely watery. He couldn’t eat them so we asked for new eggs. Don’t complain about your food, cause they will be upset! When the waitress told the cook, she had her hand on her hip and her body language told it all. We felt it, by her and the cooks. Extremely disappointed on how they made us feel. Just beware. We will never go there again.

Went here last July. A couple times actually while I was in town. I'm assuming the bad complaints were from Karen's that were upset that people didn't bow in their presence, cause the food is good and definitely inexpensive. And portions sizes, I never finished my food and I eat a lot. Wait staff was courteous, especially waiting on our large group of heathens. Next time in this area, I'll definitely eat here again.

Owner always asking for tips. Service poor. Rude interaction with elderly mom and caregiver. Confrontational owner. Zero service warranting a tip. Would be happy to tip with better attitude. Noticed asking people for tips at the front door for herself.

Ruined Father's Day! We tried this place because of the ratings. It was awful. Food had strange after taste. It was overpriced. Service was pathetic. I should've known better, we walked in and the place was empty during brunch time on a Saturday. The good reviews make no sense, I'm assuming they are fraudulent cause there is no way. How did they get that many good reviews? No clue! The average rating should be about a 3 star. Everything inside felt outdated, cheap, and unclean. The dishes felt like cheap plastic. The cup of water was child size. Even if the food isn't good at least make up for it in service, but they couldn't even do that. DO NOT RECOMMEND! DO NOT TRUST THE 5 STAR REVIEWS, YOU WILL BE HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!

Hands down the best chopped steak I have ever had! It was a huge portion of loosely packed chopped beef served in a raised edges baking dish covered in grilled onions. The dish shape allowed for natural baking juices to remain and not slop over the sides. Very well seasoned, great quality chopped beef and perfectly cooked to medium. My wife had the country fried steak covered in home-made sausage gravy - also perfectly prepared and tasty. She was served a square roll on the plate plus a side of mashed potatoes, with sausage gravy, and re-heated corn. My meal came with mashed potatoes and gravy and also the corn. All were good but I don't the potatoes were made on site. But it's a diner and the chopped steak and country fried steak were delicious. Enjoyed rice pudding for dessert. Exceptional service.

They have perfectly cooked, thin bacon. And the French toast is flavorful, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Oh the coffee is really good too.

Came to this place for lunch after the Sunday service. My husband and I Expected a lot cuz of 4.5 stars and the reviews. We ordered skillets, beef liver, and some pancakes. First of all, the food was NOT good at all. The WORST pancakes I have ever had in my life. Portion was so small comparing to other places. Second, customer service is absolutely horrible. The middle age waitress looked at us like we were dirt. Asked a simple question and she was so annoyed. She went back to the front and complained with another waitress about us asking a simple question. What a nasty place and nasty people. I am shocked about the reviews. This place is a solid 1.5.

Palos diner seems to do the bare minimum. The food was ok but not worth the trip I would not get anything on your waffle or pancake the toppings cold which make the waffle lukewarm. Also there is a service charge for using a credit card which I didn't see until I already paid. Difficulty with wheelchair entry but very accommodating when finally in

Tuesdays split pea soup is AMAZING! Super cozy family ran business. I have no doubt in my mind the main ingredient they use is LOVE! If you haven’t tried them yet then you need to, but bring the family!

What’s in store for you: poor quality food, dirty setting, cheap cutlery and plates, convenience fee $2.61 for using debit (signs didn’t see ‘em) and then attitude asking why, really overpriced esp for low quality food, lackluster service. Save your money and $70 dollars of food is better spent elsewhere for food. The crepe was God awful and peaches tasted more like bland pineapple, while the omelette looked like Kraft singles microwaved on and bad dog food. Not picture worthy. Also your water glasses are shorty cups from a cheap 90’s pub. No way this is 4.5 stars, at best, 3.6. Ruined my Father’s Day…

The servers and the owners are always welcoming and friendly. Everything in the menu is tasty and a cut above standard diner fare. Just a few items that stand out are: the chicken soup-very good broth, the fries- not greasy and crisp on the outside, the housestack breakfast-excellent combination of flavors. I also like the fact you can substitute peaches for potatoes for breakfast. One of my favorite places to eat

This diner is a hidden gem in Palos Hills. Family-owned, they go out of there way to know and greet their customers. The menu offers many options and the soups are all great. The specials change daily and taste like a home cooked meal. I have been going here for literally over 10+ years.

It’s very small and to be honest I like it. It’s always made me feel wanted when I go there and love that it’s so simple yet organized and original. The staff are very friendly too!!

We were in town visiting a friend&we asked her to take us somewhere unique to the area. She brought us to the Palos Diner. Its a homie&cozy feeling. There were a ton of options, I could not believe it. The service was great, the food was delicious&so were the prices.

Mom & Pop diner. Loved it. Nice large menu selection and good American food. Husband had tuna noodle casserole. I tasted it and YUM! We'll be back!!

😠 Bad customer service. I’ve called in for 2 meals for 2 people, but when I came in they mixed up my order. Instead of 2 meals they prepped 1 meal. I wasn’t offered any alternatives, and Im not the type of person to cause a scene or make them throw the food away. So I had to pay extra $10 and wait ex...
