This piece of gem is open till 3:00pm on weekdays and till 2:30 pm on weekends. It has a decent seating capacity and ambience for a morning place. The Demistasse Special, is a filling meal for the price. The Belgian Waffle is good snack as well with correct balance of crunchiness and sweetness. The three of us reached the place at around 11:30 am. It seemed reasonably packed. Though our order took some time to arrive we were not at all bothered by it because we had a lot of catching up to do.This delay could be attributed to the other diners but it was worth the wait. The food did not disappoint at all. As far as the cost is concerned, it is pretty much in line it's other competitors on Taylor Street.

Exceptional service and friendly staff. Best way to start the morning on vacation in The Windy City. 🙂 I wish we had such an amazing breakfast spot in Houston. Prices cheap compared to the quality and quantity of the food. French Toast, Omelettes, Coffee is fresh toasted. No donuts, but they have scones and muffins. Atmosphere is inviting and cozy. Most highly recommended!

Just walked in during marathon. They have known my 2 and half year old son since he was born. They treat him like he is one of their own. They gave him his favorite chocolate chip muffin(fresh as always) and I grabbed a cup of the best coffee in Chicago. Love love these people.

I've been coming to Demitasse for probably 10 years. You'll never find a friendlier and more inclusive cafe. Doesn't matter who you are or where you come from you'll be greeted with a smile. Great breakfast and super tasty coffee. Kids corner with books and toys is a nice feature too.

CUTE place with friendly staff. The most accommodating place I've ever been when it came to veganism. I didn't even ask them to and they cleaned the grill before preparing my food. Above and beyond.

Definitely a hidden gem, great food that tastes like home and a quiet place if you're looking to get work done.

Amazing service and coffee!!! The young employee at the counter was so friendly and made some great recommendations when I stopped in for coffee this morning. Very cute, old school type diner feel, with a huge food menu and so many coffee options, too! Will absolutely be returning next time I'm near Taylor Street

Chile… where do I begin, an unsoaked poorly spiced French toast on the driest challah bread I’ve had in all my years. Eggs over cooked to the point I could use em as a puck for the whole Stanley cup. Potatoes… why did they serve frozen & then flash fried potatoes so thick that they could choke a small child upon swallowing, Not a speck of salt nor a morsel of pepper sewn mind you. AND AT A PRICE OF $23 DOLLARS for horribly seasoned, poor quality, Waffle House reject straight outta the Costco freezer, tv dinner brunch… the coffee… mediocre and overly sweetened. If it wasn’t for the mediocre tastebuds of yt UIC students lookin for a quick bite between finance classes this place would be sent STRAIGHT to the gallows. Overpriced, Under-seasoned, & over rated.

One of the most cozy places to sit down and have a light breakfast. Their coffee, however, is the best I've ever had. The owner is the most friendliest and comical I've ever come across. Makes you feel at home.

Not even deserve one star. I think was good cafe because they friendly and have something for kids to play. We waiting one hour for food and food never coming. And there is this 2 adult woman comes after us but they serve this 2 adult woman compare to us with 2 adult and 3 kids. Not recommended. I am.not ok with th treat this morning. If you have kids, for food waiting too long like this, not recommended at all...
