A wonderful spot for coffee in downtown Downers Grove. The service is excellent. They have plentiful seating and it's a nice place to chill out

This is such a neat Peet's Coffee location right at the corner of the intersection. There is a good amount of seating and the employees were friendly and welcoming. The Vanilla Latte tasted great!

Overall a good experience. Lots of room to spread out and get some work done with lots of seating. Espresso was great with a hint of sweetness behind it. Paid a little over $3 which is reasonable. Bakery looked enticing to try out. Staff is nice and service is quick. Not a bad coffee shop if you're in downtown Downers Grove!

The place has a great ambiance, the barista was beautiful and had a wonderful smile. The coffee ( vanilla latte is 4/5). The service and the smile earned you 5 stars 🤩. Keep up the good work 👍.

I love this Peet's Coffee location in Downers Grove. I have been to this location many times for meetings, both work and personal. The ambience is very welcoming, and the staff are always very respectful and efficient. I also like that they have outdoor tables, which allows for different options for folks for social distancing etc., that feel more comfortable with outdoor dining. There are, however, two small reasons I chose to give 4 stars instead of 5. One is that the prices are a little on the high side (in my opinion)- but nothing shocking for what you expect to pay at a café. I also don't like that they have a passcode on the bathrooms. I understand this is often to discourage non-paying customers (and often times, people experiencing homelessness)- to not utilize their restroom, however, I wish that public spaces, restaurants, and cafes would not put codes on their bathrooms. Otherwise, thank you!

Very cozy and relaxing coffee spot. Tasty coffee and wonderful, friendly staff. Spacious and very clean. Wall decorations and lighting fixtures bring some tranquility yet rustic. I enjoyed sipping my coffee with their comfy seats.

I came to this place with a friend and we had a negative and pretty upsetting experience with one of the staff members. Before going to hang out at Peets, my friend got some starbucks and brought it to Peets (which it was mostly finished). We walk in and find a place to sit. I go and ask for a cup of water at the register and and the worker at the register points in the direction of where they have a free water dispenser for the customers to ise. When he told me he kinda had attitude and seemed kinda annoyed that i asked but i just didnt see it and the label on it wasnt very visible. I get my water and sit back down with my friend. After a couple of minutes the same bald worker approached us and said that he saw us walk in with starbucks and he mentioned that that we didnt buy anything yet even though we were looking over the menu and considering something. He also said that it isnt really a place to hangout even though there were a few other ppl there on computers who didnt buy anything which he did not talk to. This didnt even give us the chance to order anything and since we are young girls we were kinda shy to say anything. This may not have anything to do with it but those other people were white while my friend and i are poc. So, in conclusion we will not be returning anytime soon and we would recommend going to STARBUCKS instead if you’re in downtown downers grove. The service there is 100% better and the employees are very kind and treat us with respect. I would also like to mention that it wasnt very crowded when we walked into peets so it wasnt like we would be taking up the spots of paying customers or anything. My friend and i are young teens and we were quietly sitting on our phones and he goes out his way to kick out possible customers GO TO STARBUCKS INSTEAD (starbucks coffee doesnt taste as burnt either and some salty, white, bald guy wont come for you and kick you out for holding an empty starbucks cup of ice.)

I had to write this review after another case of hearing my Mom's experience with this place. She's always loved this place. Here's the issue. Staff. The manager is rude and very unpersonable. My Mom NEVER complains about service, and this is the 3rd time she's returned home having just had a bad experience with the staff. Buyer beware. Great ☕ and scones, but don't expect a warm and friendly welcome from management. The owner needs to read this review, and take action. This is a prime location, and they're dragging it through the mud with poor customer experiences. Tighten this up, or watch your bottom line sink into the red.

This is a nice coffee shop but the baristas are the ones that make this a good place. I had two lovely ladies help us. Got the pineapple, citrus green tea is a good drink.

One of my favorite local coffee places, although a little on the higher side, the coffee is always good and the people there are always very friendly!

This is my favorite place to meet up with people during the day in downtown Downers Grove. The menu is good, the service is quick enough, and the atmosphere is great for meeting with friends. Seats fill up quickly though and some people park with their laptop for hours on end.

Placed an order online this morning for coffee and four "Plant-Based Everything" breakfast sandwiches. Thank you for offering such a fantastic vegan option for breakfast that isn't a plain bagel or oatmeal! Can't wait to be back!

This location is in the perfect little corner across from the train. It has a lot of room to sit inside and outside. I had the more recent plant based sandwich and the oat horchata and they were both delicious. The sandwich was a little small and pricey but I'm happy they have incorporated more plant based options. The baristas/cashiers have always been very friendly and quick. Good spot to get some work done or even read if it's not too busy.

Owner/Manager was shockingly inappropriate/RUDE on the last several visits but this last one was over the top. He complains to customers about how he didn't schedule enough staff bc he thought a Saturday was going to be slow (really?!?!), then argued with customer about using their reward points. My drinks consistently there have burnt shots. The staff will pour an expresso make other drinks and let it sit for minutes. The owner doesn't correct or train staff but instead complains that folks do not like their expensive drink. Arcadia Coffee is new and has WONDERFUL coffee - also the Naperville Peetes does an excellent job. I truly can't believe how rude the owner was, and has been.

The hot chocolate is amazing, not a lot of options in food. Serves regular, clean place.

So, I love espresso. I especially love good espresso made with passion and care. Starbucks and Dunkin don't give me that anymore, so I have been relying on smaller coffee shops for good espresso. Peet's does not disappoint! My iced mocha was delicious, I could taste the roasty toasty goodness of a correctly dialed in and pulled espresso shot, as well as the not too sweet flavor of the chocolate. I will definitely make the drive to have this again!

such a cute place to come and study/work. great experience coming in after not being in for so long. they were sold out of twist i wanted but the barista was so kind in offering other options and letting me know when to come back when it’s in stock! also was informed with the rewards app and all the benefits! the vibes here are a 10/10.

Regarding Peet’s Coffee (Downtown Downers): Very upsetting experience at Peet’s today. I am always visiting friends in Chicago, so today a friend decided to visit me in Downers. I brought her to Peet’s for coffee and to see our downtown. Within 10 minutes of sitting and getting ourselves settled, the manager asked if we were waiting for someone. We kindly replied no and he said he was just checking in. I did not see him approach any other patrons. About 10 minutes later, my friend and I had decided on purchasing some waters to start, and were looking over the different coffees. The manager approached our table once more and asked if we’d be buying anything. I asked if this was a requirement, and if there was signage we’d missed and he said no, but “this is a business”, and he’s running a business so we can’t just sit here. He also informed us that “Peet’s is cracking down on college students”. (I and my friend are about 10 years post college, but thanks for the compliment) For an establishment where half of the staff is wearing political statements on their aprons, it surprises me that “cracking down on college students” and turning away those who take a little longer to pick a coffee is so high on the list of tasks. Very odd and non hospitable behavior that I wouldn’t expect of any business, yet alone a neighborhood coffee shop. I recommend visiting Starbucks across the tracks (staff is friendly and inviting), or getting on the train to Chicago for a unique, inviting cafe visit in the future. The manager has done a terrific job of making sure my business does not return.

Peets remains among the most reliable national chain since they actually use manual machines and train baristas. It is only a 4 because they don’t reach the consistency of the top coffee shops, or my home machines.

Normally I'm in the Starbucks infrastructure, but I came to try out a "2Good2Go" app that lets you buy a bag of leftover food. Unfortunately, someone else had picked up the food I ordered. But the manger went out of his way to "make good:" putting the last remaining pastries in a bag for me, and pouring a fresh coffee as well. The problem was caused by the app and not by the store, so the shift lead went well above and beyond.

Great people all the time. They always say hi when you walk in. They also become aware of the "regulars", and have great memories. They always get the coffees' right, haven't had an issue. This is my lunchtime coffee stop! I'll keep on coming back, no matter the season!

Friendliest coffee shop I've ever been to. Large outdoor seating area (in the shade - great in summer) for temperate weather. Almost always busy, lots of table space to plop down the laptop and do some study/work/surf. Good selection of breakfast items, sandwiches and snacks to go along with the coffee and cold drinks.

I went with a friend that has also written a review here. We had a very negative experience so we will not be going back. There is a starbucks near this location so i grabbed a drink that i drank before arriving here and a lemon loaf that i planned on saving for later. First we started off with water since it was a hot day and then i was gonna finish the only thing leftover in my starbucks cup which was a couple ice cubes while i thought abt ordering something. While we were just sitting there on our phones some middle aged bald white worker approaches us and asks us to leave. My friend went up there to ask for some water and also said he wad kinda rude before he approached us. This made us upset that we got kicked out over a half empty starbucks cup of ice, so we didnt even get the chance to buy anything. Still mad so statbucks will forever be my #1.

This place is disgusting. It smells like homeless people inside. Also they have the AC on 40 degrees blowing right into your tummy, when it's 45 degrees F outside. Most disgusting experience I had in a while 😡😡

Peet's serves excellent coffee. There are a number of options for plain coffee, all of which are distinct and interesting. Their espresso drinks also boasts numerous options all of which are expertly prepared. Best of all Peet's coffee and espresso do not have the burned aftertaste present in a certain other coffeeshop's drinks
