The worst service that my family and I have ever experienced. On Wednesday August 11th 2021 we took our Catholic Priest out to dinner for his birthday to Petey's Bungalow on 95th St. in Oak Lawn, Il. location. We arrived at 5:45 pm and did not get our dinners until 7:30 pm. The waitress thought we had gotten our salads and WE had to tell her, no we did NOT, after waiting an hour just for salads. The rest rooms were beyond filthy and with COVID this made my elderly parents very uncomfortable. Our food arrived cold. When the bill arrived on time we found out the ice tea and diet cokes cost more than our meals. We did not know refills were NOT free except for one. We found Petey and told him about our disappointed experience, especially because we had brought our Priest to Petey's Bungalow for his birthday dinner. Petey just shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know " Poor customer service. No customer service. We belong to a very large Catholic Church in the local area and we will be sure to let the rest of our fellow parishioners to know Petey's is not a reputable restaurant to dine in and Petey has no respect for the clergy. We will be reporting the filthy restrooms and ALSO the duck tape on the restaurants door, to the health department A hazard to anyone entering and leaving Petey's Bungalow.

We went on a Saturday night, the place was dead, but it took forever for a waitress or hostess to come greet and seat us. You did get a good quantity of food for the money, however the food was lackluster. We each ordered steak, and the steak literally had no flavor! I was glad the chef knew how to cook a medium rare properly, however they could have at least pulled out a salt shaker or something. We walked away figured, next time we come back, we'll order something other then steak, give them another chance. That went out the window when we found ourselves running for the toilet throughout the night and following day. :(

It has an old fashioned supper club feel. They give you a lot of starters, such as a relish tray, cole slaw, cottage cheese, etc. that just come with your meal. Plus, soup, salad, and dessert are included. The filet I had was very good, but the add on scallops weren't the best. The service was pretty slow (but at least they don't rush you out and you can have a leisurely dinner). But the server seemed a little cranky. But overall, it was good. We will go back and just hope for a better server and faster service.

Peteys appears to be an old time supper club. Before you even get your soup AND salad you get a large relish tray and four different pasta like salad all tasting very good. I had the filet for dinner which was small but after everything else I could only eat two bites but it was very tender and cooked exactly to my liking

Fantastic place and an ode to the past. I love everything about this place and it reminds of going out to dinner with my family when I was a kid. Really phenomenal service. Someone recommended their burger to me and I’ve loved it and ordered it every time I visit. I’m very happy to have found Perry’s!!!

Arriving there, the waitress was outside smoking and on her phone sitting on the stairs. Walking into the place it was empty, and the area we were by it had heavy cigarette smell. Sitting down, perhaps a 15 year old kid came with the water, greeted him and I didn’t get a friendly response. The wall, and ceiling looked really old. So I ended getting up, and left. Some people don’t mind any of it, but when the cost per person is $30-$50 I’d expect something little better and busier. What killed it for me was the cigarette smoke.

Old school dinner club. With your dinner, you get a relish tray, servings of cottage cheese, beets, macaroni salad are some that are served. Salad and cup of soup along with bread are served. Then dinner. Very extensive, something for everyone! Greek influence. Great bar area that was crowded. Plenty of parking. Closed on Mondays. Opens at 4

Made reservations, arrived 10mins prior, waiting in the lobby and was passed up by a couple that walked in without reservations. Never felt so "BLACK AND UNWANTED" in my life. This was an outing for my son's bday and heard from a friend that the food was good and it's not a chain style restaurant. Huge mistake and if any of friends ask about this place 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿

Way over priced, I had chicken parmesian, over some type of spiral noodles, the sauce was like water with no taste there must have been a whole mushroom garden mixed in with the hot water sauce. MY wife had Grecian Chicken just as bad,I know it has been there forever. I don't know how it lasted this long.Pety is time to hang up your apron and get some good cooks in there.. overall, we were in the neighborhood and thought of going there from my childhood memories with my parents.Bottom line, is it sucked

Salad was drenched in dressing. Had the house Italian, way too much vinegar that's all you tasted. Oysters Rockefeller had so much spinach, overpowered everything. Saganaki and fried mushrooms were really good, fried zucchini was greasy. Deserts were all very good.

I wish zero stars was an option! My mom my sister and I went to Petey’s in Oak Lawn for dinner. Most everything $25. Sister orders lobster at market price. Mom did not her order. Bill comes. $495. Lobster $200. Food absolutely sucked. Scallops sucked. Tasteless. Shrimp, which My mon ordered, so over cooked. Lobster, she didn’t even finish, she disliked so much. I questioned bill. She said yep, that’s the price. Thoughts???? I will NEVER step foot in this establishment again

If I could leave a half a star I would. From the moment we walked into the restaurant and were seated by another server. We watched two servers one blonde who cited we were her table another brunette who said no we were another servers table. That's not something you want to discuss in front of patrons. We were seated with our server Gail . From the moment she introduced herself complained. She couldn't wait for the holiday season to be over. She wasn't happy about her job. She was upset from the moment she walked in to work as she made sure to tell us she was yelled at. We kindly told her that it was no problem and we weren't those customers that would be mean to help try to turn her evening around. We placed our order for drinks and waited 15 minutes for those while we listened to her yell at the staff in the kitchen. We watched one of the kitchen staff run out and get silverware after being yelled at by Gail. After waiting an overly extended period of time we got fed up and left. Gail very snidlely said well merry Christmas to you. I and my husband are more than understanding people as we have worked in the service industry and also the food service industry but Gail needs an attitude adjustment before she is allowed to help. Being snarkcastic in front of patrons doesn't look good for a business. We would have left a large tip as we again understand what it's like to work in the service industry. However yelling at the kitchen staff and leaving your patrons unattended was more important.

I've been coming here for years. Food is always top end. Old School Supper Club. Meat is always high end. Lamb Chops to a "Petey Burger" you can't go wrong here. Fried Zucchini is my favorite appetizer.

Very generous portions. Loved the variety of relish sides, homemade garlic bread, soup, salad and dessert that comes with your entrée. Very attentive service in a homey dining setting. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!!

This is a very cozy place with many tables and soft lighting. You will definitely not go hungry after the visit here! There's lots of options, and everyone can find something to like. The seafood options here are one of the freshest and best in the area. I recommend a walleye pike or grouper fish. I also had clam chowder and greek lemon soup. While waiting for food, various small plates of appetizers are added to the table. From cottage cheese and beets to the freshest crunchiest and softest garlic bread, lots of food is served. The waitresses are very and attentive. The plates will not clutter the table, as many serves will swiftly pick them up. This is definitely worth the price you pay. The only complaint(more like a minor preference) is that my salad was drenched in salad dressing.

The relish tray part of the dinner was nice. The drinks were way to strong for a bunch of light weights like my friends and I. The soup was clam chowder and egg lemon with rice. It was horrible! Cream soups are suppose to be thick. This soup was not. Salad was ok. The New York strips were not tender and had a odor to them. Sent them back twice to be cooked to their liking. The butt steak looked like a sirloin steak. I had the oysters Rockefeller, it was not cooked through. I had to bring it home and fully broil them to get the full effect of the dish. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Just came here for the first time tonight. Absolutely wonderful. For what you get they seriously need to raise their prices. Highly recommend. We will be back regularly!

We took our son for his 20th birthday. Service was top-notch! We could not have gotten a more friendly waitress. The restaurant was not loud like most we were able to have a conversation at a normal level without feeling like you needed to yell . The food started out great. The orster Rockefeller was perfect. We ordered 3 different steaks, and two were way under seasoned. The 3rd was overcooked. All were still very good, just a bit disappointing.

Relish tray watered down with ice. Olives had no flavor. Steaks are not cooked the way you Ask for them!! Waitress accidentally dropped tray on floor and busboys just walked right by! No help at all from them! And to top it off two Confirmation envelopes were taken off the table and no one knew a thing!!! Sad!!

This place was AWEFUL!! My cottage cheese and my beets were warm when they should've been COLD!! My frogs legs were soggy and the breading was spotty and tacky!! Covered in oil, and not crispy at all!! The baked potato tasted like it was cooked in the microwave-- My friend got the pork chops and they smelled sssoooooo bad!!!! How do u serve spoiled meat to a table!?? Our server should be ashamed-- How could she not have smelled that!!?? My other friend got the pepper steak and it was totally drenched in sauce that had a very overwhelming tomato flavor!! Our drinks were never refilled during the entire dinner... the buser came around and asked me if I wanted more water one time, that was it!!! All in all, it was a waste of our time and our money and we will never be back!! Lesson learned.. They need to get it together!! Needs a whole new kitchen staff and front of house staff as well!! Shoot, as a server you should be able to explain the menu to me without looking crazy or saying "I'm not sure" or "I don't know, let me check". As a cook/chef you should know better than to cook and send out fowl protein!!!! SAD, FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE 😡 I work in the industry, I am a chef as well and this was absolutely a disgrace to my profession!

On this occasion we dined for my dads 81 birthday. We had a party of 16 and they gave us the whole back room. The service and food was amazing as usual. We have been coming to Petey’s since the 70s. When I was a child I thought it was such a big deal to walk through the back. We have had many birthdays and celebrations here. My dad has Alzheimer’s now but he still remembers and talks about Petey’s. He usually gets the perch, I always get the shrimp dejounge. We both always get the Peppermint Ice Cream. I hope to keep coming with my dad to your restaurant as long as he can. The food and memories I will always cherish!

Highly disappointed. We decided to try this place out and specifically for the king crab legs. We're seated they bring out the relish trays. Pickled peppers, cottage cheese, macaroni salad garlic bread. She took our order i asked for the king crab legs and asked how much before ordering she says $75 i said ok that's fine. Brings our food out and places two lobster tails in front of me. I told her this isn't for me, immediately she said ohhh I'm so sorry you ordered crab legs. She paused and says you don't like lobster? I told her actually I don't really. Its ok I'll wait for my crab legs. She then says well the crab legs are not 75 they're actually $150! I said no thank you then and because we felt bad sending those lobster tails back we kept them and I shared my husband's filet mignon which he ordered medium well..cut into it and it's raw and I mean raw. I love my steak medium rare so this says alot! It was in fact raw! My 14 year old daughter ordered the cheeseburger $20 and its on the same garlic bread they bring out in the beginning. Not only that..it was bloody! She took one bite and that was it lost her appetite they took that off the bill. My 9 year old ordered the t bone steak. It was cooked fine he likes his medium rare and it was, but no flavor what so ever. I can definitely say we will never go back.

Omg! Love this place. Totally worth the 45 min to hr drive!! Relish tray, assorted sides to share like Cottage cheese, coleslaw, macaroni salad, and beets. Then your soup AND salad, garlic bread... then your amazing entree! I usually get the butt steak. Then you get a choice of assorted ice creams, jello, or rice pudding! Totally worth the price! Can't wait to go back!

If you are looking for a GREAT meal in a very cool bungalow, this is your place. White tablecloths, casual or fancy clothing welcome and staff is incredibly attentive! We had slow pan fried chicken. Meal stated out with a relish tray of fresh vegetables, then 4 varieties of salads (cottage cheese, beets, macaroni salad, Potato salad) then a cup of soup, then a full size garden salad, then chicken with a baked potato, then dessert. Every course was excellent! Do get your family and friends together for a nice meal at Petey's!

Love the food. Waitress wasn't that great but you can't replace quality food. Honestly the waitress couldn't handle her 3 tables... I worked at this resturant in high school. I still love the food... but the waitress was rude and didn't offer coffee for dinner. Kept forgetting our garlic bread. 5 stars for food. But the waitress we had was about a 2 out of 5 stars. Also I highly suggest adding greek style to your chicken or fish. So delicious.

I did not enjoy my carry-out meal here, ordered a New York strip steak medium rare. It was cooked well raw, nearly burnt on the outside and pretty much raw on the inside. It was inedible.

My mom worked at Petey's years ago.. she told me Petey is mean to his staff and cheap as hell. He reuses hors d'oeuvres that are put out on the table 🤮 all the horror storys I've heard through the years... I'd never set foot in there.

Last night we had a wonderful meal with family at Petey's. Every person, from bartender to busboys, we interacted with were friendly and polite. Our waitress, Sandy, was outstanding! We enjoyed everything, and the server was amazing and she treated ya like family. It happened to Be a hot day that day, and it was a little warm, but if that's all I have to complain about, then we'll be back for sure. We've now out it in our rotation.

As I walked in with my family, the smell was very musty and dirty looking we order our food and the Chicken parmesan Came like soup with Cheese on it I've never seen anything like that it was horrible. I used to come here years ago it was a very nice place And great food I don't know what happened but they definitely need a overhaul or rehab here. fire the cook he definitely has no clue how to make food I can't say I will never come back.

My steak was fully inedible and smelled like fish.I sent the steak back and chose to eat nothing bc I was so off put. I was still charged for the food. Other than that the food was mediocre at best and on the pricier side. Save ur money!
