My husband and I love Polish food and have been to Poland a few times. The food here is as authentic as you can get. Tasting the food took us back to Poland. We had the tripe soup, BBQ ribs, meat and cheese & potato pierogies, Polish sausage and the potato pancakes. Everything was delicious!! We used to go to Poland once a year before Covid. So if you are craving some good ole Polish food, you must visit this restaurant to satiate your cravings!

The stuffed chicken with ham, cheese and bell peppers was delicious 😋 The service was great and we enjoyed the company! It's like a big polish family affair and as a Europe native I really loved it!

The food was outstanding! Our server was very good. The prices were quite high! And the other customers there did not control their children!! Not sure if my family will be returning

Just love this hidden gem! Everytime we go the room is only half full but it should always be packed! The food is amazing and generous portions, the dinners come with a full spread, soup/ salad, entree and relishes and the drinks are fresh and good grade liquors. But going back to the food, my goodness they make everything delicious!! The pickle soup, sounds gross I know but it's so yummy, stuffed tenderloin is no knife required tender, polish sausages and mashed is mildly spiced with the perfect level of tingle to the taste buds! The Blueberry cheesecake is outstanding and made fresh in house. There are so many amazing dishes on the menu I'd fill the page but this place is known for catering and banquets but they are also a restaurant for families! Please give it a try you won't be disappointed! Or don't, we can keep the hidden hem to ourselves that way haha But seriously I love going here for our date nights and our family dinner dates too. Just really great food!

Hot borscht with meat dumplings is to die for! Breaded pork cutlet was delicious... too bad my husband didn't get to help with it! Stuffed cabbage rolls with tomato sauce were awesome!!! Don't forget to try beet salad and cole slaw. Deserts will have to wait till next time - we ate too much! You will definitely enjoy the food, service and atmosphere! Can't wait to go back!

I have an emotional support dog with an ESA registration ID. Today, I had an argument with the waitress because of bringing my service dog. I love this place because of the Eastern European food. I have been bringing all my friends who are visiting me to this restaurant. However, today the waitress told me that she doesn't care about it. After the argument today, I will not go back to this place anymore.

Came here yesterday on my long drive across the country. I’ll start with the pros- the food is good. And the Polish plate was massive for the price. The pierogi are tasty and even come with bacon bits. The Highlander soup is amazing. I was given a little box with 2 full ribs inside (to put into the soup). I was very impressed by this for only $5.50. Goulash soup was ok but the meat was really fatty. Now for the cons. No one was wearing a mask. Not a single worker. Not sure what the current mandates are in metro Chicago but I was shocked that even a cook making my food wasn’t wearing one. Had I known this before coming in I wouldn’t have came. Second, there was a big Polish wedding happening as I came to pick up my food. (Once again, not a single mask). I had to walk through all these guests just to get to the front door. Kind of an awkward setup for everyone involved. I called the lady who took my order and explained I was outside the door but didn’t feel right coming in and barging in on this fancy wedding. She complained she doesn’t have time to come out to me. Really rude attitude and I was literally at the door. I’m Polish and I understand that we often just come off rude without meaning to culturally, but for her to complain to a customer about walking over to them when they have every right to not want to walk in on a wedding nor be further potentially exposed was really wrong. Also as a heads up, the stuffed cabbage is with a creamy mushroom sauce, not the red tomato sauce you might be used to. I don’t regret coming here on my way home, but I will never come here again.

I absolutely LOVED this place. Amazing homemade Polish food. We had the Polish Plate, the Pork Cutlet over Potato Pancakes, and the fried Rainbow Trout. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully plated. Atmosphere was homey and unpretentious as this was a weekday, but on the weekend they do banquet reservations and they told us it's quite a party 🎉. I loved everything I had and as a Polish boy from the Southern states, it made me so nostalgic I swear my heart ❤️ melted. Loved it.

I’ve been there twice now. Both times were for luncheons following the funerals of two grandparents. The food was amazing both times, and the service was phenomenal. This last time, my group of about 20 only had one server taking care of us and he did a fantastic job! My family especially loved the beef and the dumplings. So good!!

Ive lived a block away from this restaurant for 15 years. I thought it was a banquet hall. It has the best polish food I have ever had. The pickle soup is phenomenal. Derek the bartender/waiter was kind and very accommodating. I will frequent this cozy little place and it’s right down the block. Thank you Derek!

I was here for a funeral luncheon. The service was great. People were friendly and helpful. The entrance has a lift for handicap access which was awesome. The food was ok at best. Family style spread. Dumplings were mushy and flavorless. Beef was forgettable. Breaded pork tenderloin was good but dry. Overall served its purpose as a gathering place, but I wouldn't go there just for food.

The food is outstanding! We loved the service, and you really feel like home. It’s also great for banquets. We loved the potato, pancake, and the Polish plate!

Food was amazing! The portion was large, I had to turn down a take out box as I am traveling but it certainly made me sad to leave the leftovers behind. Very good value- had a entree, the breaded chicken and a glass of wine. The waitress was lovely, I came in early evening and it was quiet, likely before the dinner rush. Food tasted European which I say as a very high compliment- fresh and real cooking. Highly recommend

I came here for the European food and they did not disappoint! Large portions too. I had the Bavarian pork shank and my friend had a Polish sampler. Both were fantastic!

Food like grandma used to make. Large portions. The wait staff were congenial. It's a long way from home, but I intend to be a frequent visitor.

What an excellent meal we had. They don't have sweet and sour cabbage but I added a little sugar to the sauerkraut and it was lovely. Their breaded pork tenderloin is huge and tender and delicious. The mashed potatoes and potato dumplings are excellent. Gravy is pretty good. The potato pancakes are awesome. Thick. We had a very nice gentleman serving us who was very accommodating. I initially ordered the pork shank and it was a little too fatty and a little less meaty for me so I asked if I could send it back and he took it with a smile on his face. Would definitely definitely come back here.

I loved the food! Place was a touch confusing when you first walk in but once you figure out where to go it's not bad lol. The food was stellar. I encourage you to try it!

Food here is delicious! There are many options, but our family favorites are sweet cheese pierogi, polish sausage, pork cutlet, soup, dumplings, polish plates (to try a variety), and they have a full bar! I highly recommend this restaurant and have been eating here for years with the same great food quality.

This place is awesome! Food was fantastic and the Highlander soup is incredible! I picked up my bowl and drank every last drop of the delicious broth. The staff was very friendly. The Pirogies were exactly what you would expect of a fresh and homemade…got the potato and cheese and meat. Both were great. The potato pancakes are great as well. Was my first time here and I was craving some good homestyle Polish food and this place delivered. I have been craving that soup everyday since I went there and frankly I can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes. This will be my go to place for quality Polish dining. Highly recommended.

Food was great, but I called 2 days early to Reserved seating for around 20 people to come after the funeral at around 1:00- 1:30 . Was told: "no problem, we won't be busy". When we showed up, our tables (made of two octagonal ones) were right next to toilets (the ladies one was dirty according to one of the family members). There was another table with "reserved" sign in a much better location which wasn't occupied as long as we were there. We met what looked like a wedding pary in the parking lot. They told us they made a reservation a day before. I guess Wedding guests are more of a VIP than a funeral ones, even though we've dropped over $500.00. P.S. Sorrel soup is delicious.

Had my mother's memorial luncheon here. What a wonderful experience on a very hard day. Small group of 20 or so. Service and food was terrific. Thank you Lumina for all of your hard work!! To the chef...Bravo!

We ordered takeout for a family dinner for 10 people. The food was delicious and there was so much food we were able to have leftovers the next day. Definitely coming back.

The perfect place for someone who loves traditional polish food! I’ve been there several times in the last few years, and I always enjoyed tremendously taste of any dish I ordered. I definitely recommend this place, but it can be crowded on weekends.

👍👍 It was our first time here. After hearing about it through friends and family we knew we had to try Jimmy’s.
