Came here because we used to come when I was a kid. I’m 35 now and I must say lol. The guys in the clubhouse hiding behind the 16 year old kid who is working the register are the rudest dudes I’ve dealt with at a golf course. “This is your one warning to stay on the cart path”. Almost walked out. Instead decided to golf. I think the guy with the silver hair is having issues with his wife’s boyfriend. Only reason why someone would be so unpleasant at work. All good, we will spend thousands at other courses around the area. Onto the next.

Golf course has been improving since the spring and now they are adding a new irrigation system. Of course, this means they are doing some work out there , but the course will get even better. The greens and tees are in very good shape, but they have worked on a few greens to repair some spot on the backs of them. Fairways are dry, but I understand its to do with the new irrigation system being installed, so I guess they will water and seed areas that need it when finished. The course has terrain that you wouldn't expect in this area, as nearby courses are flatter, so that adds to the fun. There are some tough driving holes, but not too many, and approach shots into the greens can be tough. If you get above the hole on 16, it can be tough to keep ball on green, but it is a shorter hole. I see they are adding some forward tees, that's good, as it can be tougher for senior players and shorter hitters.

Hickory Hills provided unequivocally the most unpleasant golf experience I could ever imagine. From start to finish I felt like I was in an episode of either the Twilight Zone or Punk'd. The process of checking in for our tee time felt as if I was checking in for a flight to North Korea. The starter completely ignored my playing partner and I after hearing our tee time to chat with a coworker in front of us. The group in front of us rolled up with cases of outside alcohol, then got into a shouting match with the starter before they even got to the tee box (which had at least a dozen carts lined up due to overbooking of the tee sheet. They also were able to bring the excessive amount of booze with them despite the show) They also played 3 balls each, drove their carts on the greens and tee boxes, and drove back down the fairway to pick up our balls multiple times. We immediately were hit into twice on hole 2 with no 'fore,' and no apology on the third tee. This happened several more times throughout the round. We didn't see a single ranger during our 6 hour round. Honestly, I feel bad for the grounds crew here. They obviously are putting a lot of effort into the course and it could have been an enjoyable place to play if it weren't for the unpleasant staff, useless management and overall lake of golf etiquette and safety shown by its patrons. On almost every hole, someone in our group would be addressing the ball and about to swing only to be interrupted by a cart coming off the opposite fairway into ours to take 8 practice swings and chunk their ball 30 yards back into the trees separating holes. This course is TIGHT! It's absolutely insane how close some of the greens are to tee boxes, concession stands and other holes. If you have more money than brains and decide to pay $60 to experience this nightmare of a course, you may want to bring a helmet. Shoutout to our playing partners who saved the round from being a total loss. We eventually were able to shake our heads and laugh at the absurdity of the situation.

Couse is in great shape overall. Beautiful fairways, and greens are smooth. They have 2 courses - 9-hole and 18-hole (I played the 18-hole). Layout is very unique, and there is a good deal of elevation changes. Fairways are pretty wide and golfer-friendly. Somewhat hard to find the next tee box at times - primarily due to this being my 1st time out here. Very reasonable rate for twilight, but pace of play was slow due to it being a tad bit crowded. Would definitely return to play here again!

This is bob crokenower, I had a terrible experience. The tee time at 10:40 but teed off at 11:20. We had a five some in front of us rangers did nothing to move it along twice we informed them. Almost 3.5 hours for nine holes. Our foursome quit after 9 holes waited long every hole. I received no nine hole credit ticket. I golf a lot and we had no respect very very disappointed. I will not golf here again unless I get a free foursome pass and then see how this place moves. Sad sad sad

The course was in good shape but busy. The course is very tight, so keep your head on a swivel. We had multiple groups hitting out of the same fairways most of the afternoon. 5.5 hour round is a bit excessive.

Conditions of the course much improved compared to years ago. With more improvements under construction, players will enjoy the changes.
