A great mix of local historic buildings and a multiple use entertainment facility. Attended an Adult Halloween party. 2 great bands, fire dancers, magician, sword swallowing, food trucks, haunted houses and much more for $20.00.

This was a great place. Good place to take the kids too. They can learn about history. Old post office, school, and more. Some of the houses were closed so I knocked off a star. The houses or settlements even had a smell that took me back. It was truly great. Educational. Good price too $12 per person free for Naperville residents.

Naper Nights was a good time. Entry is $20/person. There are plenty of food vendors. Bathrooms are crowded. They open it at 5p for the show. We arrived at 6 and had no trouble finding a spot. It got very crowded by 7/7:30. You can bring a blanket or folding chairs.

This is a living museum, an outdoor interactive classroom where you learn about the history of the Midwest, and mostly of Naperville. It is a great learning experience for everyone of any age. I have been here several times, with out of town guests and on school field trips. My favorite is the Blacksmith shop where you can watch the blacksmith actually shape metal horseshoes over a hot fire. They host many events here throughout the year. A beautiful location and fun for the family. Free parking lot is located behind the venue although there is street parking available.

Attended All Hallows Eve with the family and it was AWESOME. The kids had an amazing time and are already talking about going again next year. It really felt like being in a Halloween themed town, and there was so much to do. My kids loved the black light painting, Zombie Maze and fire performers. Never went to Naper Settlement before but plan on looking into other events throughout the year. Can’t wait to go back!

The mansion is original from 1900, very educational, the blacksmith is also fun to learn.

Naper Settlement offers a fascinating journey through the history of Naperville, providing visitors with a charming and educational experience. The meticulously restored buildings and period-appropriate exhibits transport you back in time, offering a glimpse into the community's past. The variety of structures, from historic homes to a blacksmith shop, showcase the architectural evolution of the area. The knowledgeable staff, often dressed in period costumes, enhance the immersive experience by sharing engaging stories about the settlement's history. The exhibits are well-curated, shedding light on the challenges and triumphs of the early settlers. The Martin Mitchell Mansion, a Victorian-era marvel, is a highlight, showcasing the affluent lifestyle of the period. While the settlement provides a rich historical experience, some areas could benefit from additional interactive elements to engage visitors more deeply. The availability of guided tours or informational materials would further enhance the overall experience. The grounds are well-maintained, providing a pleasant environment for leisurely strolls. Naper Settlement frequently hosts events and festivals, adding vibrancy to the historical site. Overall, Naper Settlement is a valuable stop for history enthusiasts and families looking to connect with the roots of Naperville. With a bit of enhancement in interactive features, it has the potential to evolve into a must-visit destination.

Beautiful place. So much history, lovingly preserved. Highly recommend it as a half-day or more outing. We watched a blacksmith make some decorative hooks, and all the docents were dressed in period costume. More is being added, there was some construction going on, but we were still able to see everything.

Not as good as it was before. The young lady who gave the mansion tour rushed us out to soon and couldn't answer some questions. At 3:35 pm the midget who works there was asking us to leave while we had 15 minutes 😡 Not friendly and didn't even greet us. Place pretty much sucks now. Seriously disappointed. NOT WORTH THE $12

We recently held our wedding ceremony at the Naper Settlement chapel. It was an unforgettable experience, so beautiful! We had about 43 guests. The chapel is very old and the acoustics are so good, we only needed a Bluetooth speaker for music. Trust me, it's all you will need. Funny enough, there was a food truck festival on the grounds on the day of our wedding! Barbara & Nicole at Naper Settlement made sure that my wedding guests and ourselves had enough space to take some pictures on the grounds and we were not bothered by the festival at all. It was sweet, when we came out of the chapel everyone at the festival started clapping for us too! Overall, 10/10 had an amazing wedding experience here at Naper Settlement. If I had to do it all over again, I'd absolutely choose to get married here. It's a beautiful place. Thanks again Barbara & Nicole! Big shoutouts to those two!!!

Love visiting this settlement and every time we go back in time. Located in the heart of Naperville, the place showcases a blacksmith's workshop with live demos, a one room schoo, a log house, a mansion and more. A bunch of buildings are close for work but new ones have opened up as well.

Our favorite part was the tour of the Martin Mitchell Mansion, our tour guide was Angelina and she was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Also enjoyed the blacksmith shop, the indigenous flower gardens & trees and the artifacts on display. Was a wonderful way to spend our morning/afternoon.

Attended October fest. Nice that the big tent was heated. Bad was they only had 2 food vendor trucks (besides a dessert one). Both lines were super long. We stood in one for over an hour and missed the band. Suggest more food vendors or these have 2 trucks. The closing band on Sat was not enjoyable that we left. I know maybe ones taste but the prior band that played (where I could hear a little while in line) was very good. Also be nice if they had crafters vs businesses like bathtub/chiro.

Well, for starters not one building was open for viewing. What’s the point in a settlement with no settlement to enjoy. The downstairs exhibit was decent. The only staff woman was very nice. But overall, this place seems like a construction company scam operation 🧐

Great time this past weekend. We came from Lombard and saw Nirvana and Pearl Jam tribute bands. Such a good time! Hats off Naper Settlement for inviting me and my family! Thankyou

Enjoyed one of Naperville's summer festival - Festa Italiana. They do a great job of family friendly entertainment venues, including food, music, vendors. Also enjoy the downtown businesses and parks. Plenty of free parking.

I was not here for their usual museum buildings. I was at a food truck event. There were a lot of wall ledges etc to sit on. I wish they'd had more picnic tables. I prebought tickets and entry went fast. The grounds are not that big so not doing tons of walking was nice. Foods were tasty.

Attended a wedding expo here last weekend, Jan 2023, we had an excellent time! I have to especially shout out though to the staff members who coordinated this event as it was organized beautifully and was easy to navigate. Your volunteer staff outside directing people was SO kind and friendly. 11/10 work all!

We had our wedding at Naper Settlement this past September, ceremony in Century Memorial Chapel and reception on the Martin Mitchell Mansion lawn under a tent, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful venue. Melissa and her team are amazing - quick to answer questions and offer good advice. Things would not have gone so smoothly without all of her help! We're very happy to have gotten married at Naper Settlement!

Italian fest was held there. First all food vendors were cash only. I tried to get some shirts or other wares from that vendor also cash only. When they advertised in paper, their should have mentioned vendors were cash only. I was very disappointed with the whole fest. Not much to see. Glad we didn't have to pay to get in. The pizza and Italian lemonade was good.

Took our Granddaughter there. It was a nice place to visit and gave us something to do for the day. Loved the tour of the mansion although we couldn't tour the upstairs rooms since they had that part still closed off due to covid restrictions. Some of the other buildings weren't open either. The blacksmith was working in his shop making wrought iron hooks. That was also interesting to watch.

We went there for a class field trip, I LOVED IT!!It is a beautiful place that you can see,and you learn so much when you are their. I truly think that kids should know about history because "Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it"says Winston Churchill. All though there was a few thing's that i disliked about the settlement, once you got inside there was nothing to do expect listen to the speaker speak,so i'm not going to lie,it was a bit boring. I'm just saying that they should make it a little bit more entertaining for people to actually enjoy it. And also some of the people that were teaching us were a bit rude. I know that the way the speakers acted was just to show us how people were treated back in the day,but my classmates seemed to take it to heart and did not really get that they wanted us to know how woman and men were treated back then. I loved how they made that creative idea to treat us like how people were getting treated in the past, but i suggest do that to the grownups because they are most likely to understand why they are acting that way.

We came for the Food Truck Festival, there was a wide selection of options, face paintings, balloons, games and beer. Entertainment for the whole family.

Both bands were great. However, make sure you eat before you attend a concert at Naper Settlement. Very very long lines to get food and the food was just okay. Other than that the grounds were beautiful and music was good. JUST EAT BEFORE YOU GO

At this time you cannot get into the settlement, but you can walk around the perimeter. It's about a 1/2 mile walk and you can Google the settlement to get some information on it. There are also a few places outside the fence to read some of the information. Hopefully in the near future the settlement will open again to go inside. It does cost to get inside and it's a little on the spendy side. I hope to go back when it opens.

We went to the Italian festival that was held at the Naper Settlement. There was a large crowd in portable chairs relaxing and enjoying the music stage. A few bouncy houses and carnival games for the kids and some stalls selling clothes, hats, necklaces, etc. for adults. Several Italian food options with meatballs, sausages, pizza, Italian Ice and arancini.

We came here to see 'Of Perception' and 'Rocks Off'. Both bands were amazing! We had a great time even with the rain delay. 😂
